Excellent Instructor. He knows finance and is very fair. You will definately learn from this class-- especially the 2nd section. I recommend taking the online course because it is easy to follow and the chat sessions are extremely beneficial.

Great teacher! Very good at explaining the material. He should be, he wrote the book that the whole school uses. I took the Online course which, according to everyone I've talked to, is better/easier than the campus version. If you can't make it to the optional chat sessions held once a week, he posts the transcripts for you to read at your leisure

Great class. After taking this class I was left wishing that all my classes were online. 2 tests 20% each, 12 quizzes 15%(lowest two quiz scores dropped), 2 problem sets 10%, final 35%. You only have to meet on the day of the final. When I took it, he let us take the final online as well.

Professor Fendler is an excellent instructor. He is very fair, reasonable, and helpful. He seems to take a real interest in students learning and doing well in his class.

great online class with him. if you attend the online session regularly then you might not need to use the book just to look up formulas. GSU need to offer more online classes.

Easy class, take online class...just read book and work thru problems...it should be way easier than regular class.

Professor was very helpful, and I would recommend taking him...Just don't get behind with the online chats, b/c it is hard to go back and try to keep up and continue with the pace.

If you take the online class, beware! You must follow the online lectures and do the quizzes. There is no way to pass this class without studying. Other than that, he is a really nice, funny teacher.

Test are EXTREMELY HARD. However, this professor is a very nice person. But, he needs to make his tests a little easier.

Really nice, funny guy, but he gives miserable exams...he does grade very generously though. If you have a job I'd avoid him due to ridiculously long takehome exams and quizes.

It is a tough class esp. bc it's online. His chat sessions are definitely helpful! He does a lot to help out his students. Don't be discouraged by the bad rankings. He's very VERY fair in his grading and generous. Nice person, and he really does want his students to do well! Won't just screw you over if you're trying to graduate. Take him!

Just as other comments have stated, he's a very nice person, but this is a difficult subject to begin with. He is a VERY helpful teacher and he is committed to his students. The takehome tests come from problems worked in class, and sometimes he gets off topics with sports and whatnot, but he does get back on topic so it's not really a problem.

I took this class online and I have to say that it is the ABSOLUTE best way to take Finance 3300. I have heard so many stories from friends about how hard Finance classes are on-campus and I'm glad I took it online. Even though it may be a scary thought about not learning directly through the in-class experience, Fendler is VERY helpful to studen

Great class. Fendler is extremely helpful. If you have questions either email him or go by office, he will help. 3 homework problems sets, 3 tests, and 11 easy quizzes. Everything is open book except final. final is hard but fair. Chat sessions are posted so review all of them.

Awesome professor. He will help with any question you have and usually responds very quickly if you email what you are confused about. He will also award you extra points if you did poorly on an assignment but reallyl tried and go to him asking for help understanding once you see your assignment grade. Very Intelligent and a great teacher.

I took his online class and am really glad I did. He worked hard to make sure we understood how to do things, gave unlimited attempts at all but 1 quiz, two attempts at tests, and gave multiple opportunities to raise grades or drop them completely. FI 3300 sucks in general but Fendler was a great prof!

I enrolled in his online class.I was apprehensive at first but Dr, Fendler made the class easy and relaxed. He explained thoroughly how to work the problems and the concepts behind them.Quizzes and 3 test were online with multiple chances.The final exam is the only time the class meets formally.

take his online class. all quizzes are unlimited so easy 100s. 3tests, 3THPS, 11+quizzes and the final (35% of grade). hard final because it's departmental, but the online class gives you a great advantage going into the final because you will have such a high grade. many opportunities for extra credit and dropped grades. go to all chat sessions.

Online class. 3 exams plus final. Quiz for each chapter. You can take quizzes as many times as you need to get a 100. Easy to understand textbook/workbook. 2 weekly lectures that are helpful. Professor will give you whatever you need to succeed. I would highly recommend.

The subject alone is hard but he is an AWESOME PROFESSOR!!!...very helpful, responds to e-mails quickly and will even help you over the phone. Best teacher to take for such a difficult course.

This was an easy class, considering the demands of a Finance major. There was no textbook, just many homework problems. Take good notes in class and you will be fine. He provides ample extra credit, but you're a finance major so don't expect a free ride. Took this class over the summer and made a B+.

Took his online class. The material is a little hard to grasp, especially since the examples in the textbook aren't completely solved. He is really helpful, provides extra credit, curves test scores, and is lenient to grades bordering a higher one.

I hate finance- but Dr. R Fendler is pretty funny. I enjoyed the few chat sessions I could make it to and I think I learned a thing or two!

One of the best online classes I have taken. I was worried if I took in person the class would be far too dry. The material in the class is definitely difficult, but the book that the prof wrote is one of the best class texts I've ever had, and probably the first I've ever read cover to cover. The set-up of the book, class and materials was perfect

The only time you will meet on-campus is for the final. This is not a class you can pass without reading the book, but the book is written for this class and is very helpful! There are about 11 quizzes and 4 problem sets. There are 3 online exams(pretty tough). Just read the book, study for exams and you will pass.

Do NOT take this class online! Unless you're extremely diligent or gifted with finance. The material was exceptionally difficult to self-teach. He's a brilliant man and the textbook is helpful to some degree; but if you aren't able to attend his chat sessions, don't waste your time. 150% recommend taking a live class versus finance online.

Professor Fendler expects you to treat this class as if it is the only one you are taking. I easily spent over 15 hours a week between reading the textbook, doing quizzes, and take home problem sets. That being said, if you actually put in the effort you will get a good grade. Do not take this class and expect an easy A or B.

This was an online course, but finance, rethink your choices. This was the hardest class I have ever had in my 5 years of school. The cumulative final is worth 40% of the grade! The good thing though is that if you really put all effort into this class, he will work for you. He truly cares and wants everyone to succeed.

AMAZING PROFESSOR, HARD CLASS! Finance was one of the hardest classes I have taken at Georgia State. I took it as an online class & Fendler held weekly chat sections which really helped me along the course! He is smart, and knowledgeable and WANTS YOU TO SUCCEED! The course load is a lot, but that is with any finance class. Take him!

Please attend his online lectures. They are very helpful and even if you miss one go back and watch the recording. Missing one recording is missing a lot. I spent a lot of time in this class. His assignments, quizzes, and exams are very reasonable. I wish he taught all my finance classes.

Hands down the best teacher for FI3300. I took it online, it was tough. But if you put in the work you can pass the class with a b-, he works & cares about his students. This is no easy class , that's with any finance class. He curves grades , drops exams, & quizzes. He does everything he can to help you succeed!

He gives extra credit, drops grades, and does the most for you to help you succeed. He wrote the textbook, and it is a MUST for passing the course. If you do all of the problems in the book, and watch all of his lectures, you will be fine. It is HARD material, and the final is cumulative. You must be able to study hard and be devoted to this class.

Great prof. I worked really hard to get an A in the course. The class is content heavy so you have to keep up and read everyday. 3 exams, 11 quizzes, 4 problem sets, and 1 cumulative final. WATCH ALL THE LECTURE VIDEOS. In the beginning I ignored them and thought the textbook was sufficient but once I decided to watch them everything came together!

Professor Fendler saved my life in Finance 3300. The course material itself is only moderate difficulty, but many students struggle with a lot of concepts. However, his video lectures and willingness to help students really showed, and I was able to make an A on the final and receive an A in the class.

Prof Fendler does research regarding online learning, and it shows. He really cared about the class and the class being ran/structured well. There was a lot of work (weekly homework and quizzes), but you can take quizzes as many times as you want and only the highest grade counts because he wants you to learn, not just get a grade.

Finance is hard in general, but Fendler gives you every opportunity to learn the material. Unlimited amount of attempts on quizzes, and theyre open for a week. Problem sets are difficult, start them early. Test are difficult but are open note. Final is tough. Video lectures he does are EXTREMELY helpful, the book is helpful too. Don't get behind.

This class was incredibly challenging. Fendler knows his stuff and wants you to succeed. He also is aware of how hard the material is for most people. My advice: utilize every resource (textbook, lectures, powerpoints, Fendler himself), and be prepared to put in WORK. Even if you get a few F's- don't give up!

Professor Fendler is the truth when it comes to Finance. I took him online, the material is tough af BUT he knows his stuff and is such a good teacher! You need to put A LOT of time and work into this class but if you keep up with the reading, watch his lectures and do all the THPS you will definitely learn it all! He's a good grader too!

Love Fendler, second time taking him for a different class. His teaching style is very understanding. He is very reasonable with assignments and grading. The only way you will fail is if you don't try in the class. Highly recommend any class he teaches.

I PANICKED THE ENTIRE SEMESTER AND ENDED UP WITH A PASSING GRADE. HE WILL SCARE YOU IN THE BEGINNING OVER HAVING A GROUPME APP, BUT DONT PAY ATTENTION TO THAT! HE DOES IT EVERY SEMESTER! AT THE END OF THE COURSE, HE CURVED NEARLY HALF OF THE ENTIRE CLASS COURSE GRADE! JUST DO ALL OF YOUR WORK AND AT LEAST TRY AND YOU WILL PASS!

Fendler is a great professor. Make sure you read the book, view video lectures, & solve all the in-text probs. The quizzes have unlimited attempts &you have 2 attempts for each test. Professor Fendler was a very good professor. Easy online class with an assignment a week, either a paper or discussion board assignment. Tests were easy and he was a very lenient professor. Also he is very passionate about the subject! very smart guy

Fendler is a good professor, he was put on the task of introducing a new Banking and FinTech class(4470) and he did the best he could to create a curriculum that is currently getting revamped at GSU. He is a caring professor, and if you take him for 4470 it isn't hard at all, just make sure to keep up as there are weekly assignments, tests are E-Z.

Amazing finance professor ! I am a second bachelors student and I attempted to take this course at a different university and failed twice. Professor Fendler taught the same content but in a way that I was able to understand. The course is tough in general but he honestly takes the time to help you, participate in the group chats and you will pass!

It was honestly one of the best teachers I've ever had at GSU. Follow what he tells you to do and you will learn valuable skills that you can use in real life. He cares about his students.

TAKE HIM! He is the most understanding and kindest teacher there is. This is my second time him because I loved him so much for FI4020. He really cares for his students and does whatever he can not to overload us with work. Literally never met him (both classes were online) but one of my favorite professors at GSU.

I enjoyed my online course with him. He is very knowledgeable and understanding. I have learned so much from him and his teaching style is very organized and effective. He gives opportunity for you to do well and even gives more than one attempt for quizzes and tests. If you don't do well, its because you didn't put forth the effort to.

This online class was fairly difficult, but it's very manageable if you do the work he suggests. Plan on 9 hours a week of study time to be successful. He is very caring, fair, and approachable. He does a good job of applying the content to the real world. The one downside is he is very wordy in all his communications.

Great Professor!

I didn't mind professor Fendler. This class is mainly about teaching yourself. Textbook is written by professor, easy to follow, and interesting. You'll do fine if you read weekly chapters and thoroughly understand how to work through the problems given in the text. 3 exams and a cumulative final. Simple discussion boards, weekly quizzes, 4 THPS.

Honestly, this class was hard, but he drops/replaces some grades, holds chats where you can ask for help on problems, and gives a curve at the end of the semester. He gives you a 100 as long as you do the discussions and gives unlimited tries at quizzes. Lots of homework, but he gives like 1-2 weeks to do them.

Dr. Fendler is a very nice and respectful professor who took the time to read AND respond to every single one of my detailed emails throughout the summer semester. Not only did he respond, but he responded with advice and good wishes for my week ahead. I'll miss writing my weekly emails to Dr. Fendler. He's a great professor and a great person.

this class is a lot of work be prepared to study and do all the assignments. If you do the assignments and study you will be okay but its a lot of work he curves the exams and drops some grades. If you're not a finance major you might struggle like me but he gives a lot of resources and provides tutors to help. you have to put the time and effort.

This class is challenging but doable if you stay on top of the work. The professor has a specific teaching style, so being engaged and using resources like the textbook and Unstuckstudy can really help. Worth taking if you're up for the workload.

Took this online course as part of the FinTech minor I am completing at a different school. There is a ton of reading and videos in this course. Be prepared for unproctored midterms and finals. Also, there is a group project writing a 15-25 page paper due at the end of the course. Fendler seems like a nice guy and I enjoyed his course.

hes super nice and wants to make sure you do well. he curves exams, drops the lowest thps and lowest 2 quizzes, and provided ample amount of extra credit on the final. was also super kind in letting me retake exam 2 after i was kicked off of it. however, this class is so incredibly hard and i was tempted on dropping it many times

This class is not easy by any means. But you can tell the professor cares. You have to buy his textbook and read it front to back to be successful. There are also some mistakes in the book so I would spend hours trying to figure the problem out just to realize the book was wrong. But in the end he curves everyone's grades so I ended with an A+

BEST CLASS FOR CORPORATE FINANCE. The quizzes are unlimited attempts, the discussion posts are easy, and the Exams are a lockdown browser. You take this class and you will get at least a B!!
