I took this class online.Feedback was clear and easy to follow. There is a lot of information to cover, but the handouts and flow of the class are great. Too many students think the will not have to work hard online. This class is no exception.

Class involves lots of online work, but Professor Gaspar presents the main points pretty clearly. A good amount of outside work, but very interesting class with worthwhile activities. Also provides opportunities to get involved in student clubs and activities. Best teacher I had at HCC so far.

Easily the best professor at HCC! Dr. Gaspar's class is interesting and fun to attend. Course work is four writing assignments, 2 AP style quizes, and one blog a week. Communications majors transferring to USF Mass Comm, know that the EDT test you take there has information that ISN'T covered at all in this class.

Cool class. Lots of work, but you can resubmit until you get an "A". Good practical journalism experience and we had the opportunity to travel.

I took Dr. Gaspar for Intro to Mass Comm, Writing for Mass Comm and even Freshman English. He is a good professor, goes into depth about his subjects. He is also very helpful and is willing to help you in finding internships, good sources for assignments etc.

Dr. Gaspar was a cool professor. Class was half online, but he covers the material in class as well. He also provides info on interning in mass media.

This professor is engaging. You can tell he studies a lot in his personal time. He is so funny. I am not a mass communication major but it didn't matter, I learned a lot. Great class. Awesome classroom and lab!

I made an A in this class, but there were lots of assignments. Definitely learned a lot, but would recommend to take this class with a lighter load if you want an A. Don't need to buy the textbook, but the $12 AP Style book is worth it if you are going into Mass Comm. I really learned a lot in this class. Very nice professor.

Great teacher, strict with turning in your homework on time, I have a bit of hard time with my tests, you have to read long chapters and have to do very specific tests after. But I do like the class and working with Dr. Gaspar.

Took the youtube online connevtions class. The best choice. You have to record 5 videos of you talking for a minute in each and post them to youtube and class discussions. If not comfortable with that, then do not take this class. Easy grader as long as you do the work. takes points off if you dont reply to discussions. Fun 5 week class no book

Professor Gaspar is a great role model to his students. I started at UCF and then transferred to HCC for general education credits. I was not expecting for his classes to be engaging and they were, but I learned a lot from his assignments and projects. I am leaving for UCF again tomorrow and I just wanted to recommend him, he put me back on track!

I just received my grade and I was not surprised to make an A in this class. It is efficient when you know what is going on with your assignments each week. Very cool Professor! I took him for several classes and ended up joining Hawk Media Club. I was able to publish stories in the school paper and learn so much from him. Dr. Gaspars IDS class isnt very difficult. If you put in the work, youll easily pass.

He was the best professor to taken online out of the four classes I took this summer. Super uber easy class online. Just do your discussions which were super easy and you'll be set for the quizzes. Use quizlet, it will be your best friend I promise.

I took this class online and although Mass Communication is no longer my major, the class was not hard. Professor Gaspar responds quickly to any questions or concerns and has a clear grading system. Just do the work and you will pass the class.

Such an amazing professor. I took IDS online with the YouTube concentration and it was one of my favorite classes ever. Highly recommend. Show effort, and you'll pass. He's more interested in you actually learning than anything else. Highly recommend professor Gaspar.

This class was not too difficult, there were 16 quizzes where most if not all the answers are in the textbook, 5 discussion boards that have to be at least 250 words or more along with 3 responses to classmates on separate days, a 1,200 to 1,500 word MLA essay where you pick between two topics, and a video writing assignment. Easy grader!

This class was more time consuming than hard. They're numerous small writing assignments that are pretty easy along with 5 fun projects and 4 story essays that only have to be 450 words or more in AP format. The lectures were interesting, and there were 2 AP exams and 2 Textbook exams, both were very easy. The professor is an easy grader! take him

Dr. Gaspar is excellent. He will teach you everything you need to move ahead in journalism. Engaging and professional.

Dr. Gaspar is a brilliant professor and I would highly recommend. He is very helpful. The material is engaging. He has a great club, Hawk Media. I recommend joiing it. Through his connections, I was hired when I graduated and will now move on to USF.

Really enjoyed his class. He's accessible outside of class and answers emails pretty quickly. As long as you do all the assignments by the due dates and ask questions you will easily pass.

Assignments are simple and straightforward, does not assign a lot of work so do what's assigned to the best of your ability and you will be pleased with the result. Not lenient with deadlines so make time to get your work done without procrastinating. OVERALL awesome readings and experience. 10/10 HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

I would recommend this professor, I have always struggled in english but I enjoyed his class. The only way to fail is by not completing your assignments. You can literally do all assignments and skip out on the final essay and still pass the class. Pretty straightforward instructions and grading criteria

His class was so ezy. We had to listened to a podcast and do an assignment each Wednesday about it (podcast was actually interesting). We read Frankenstein and some other book. We had like 4 discussions posts in total. Make sure to read the rubric!!! I do everything last minute and I get everything turned in on time easy. coming from a Highschooler

The skills learned in Magazine Writing and Design can be applied to everything from designing a resume to publishing your own book. Dr. Gaspar is extremely helpful and tailors the course to who is in his class by incorporating their various interests on why they took his course. He is very knowledgeable about the latest technology and how to use it

Prof Gaspar's class was actually fun! Some work was in the Serial podcast and reading Frankenstein + The War of worlds. The essay written at the end is heavily influenced by these. I'm a DE student , this was my first ever DE class, and this was light work for me. I only finished with a C because I forgot to submit the final essay.

Professor is very lenient with work and offers lots of extra credit opportunities to improve your grade. Would recommend taking him as his course contains actually entertaining stories and multiple ways of learning: podcasts, videos, and pdf books.

Professor Gaspar's class was challenging but rewarding. The workload was heavy, but unstuck study and the textbook were invaluable study aids. Attend class, engage with the material, and you'll learn a lot.

This class was hard! I'm not sure if it is because I signed up for a shortened class, but we had at least 2 papers due each week! Overall, however, he was a very fair grader. Only downside was that it was difficult to get in contact with him.

Dr. Gaspar was very accomodating. I have a lot of disabilite and he was caring and help me learn.
