Great class! Teacher is super nice and very clear on topics. Listen to lectures 2x/ week and you will do fine on tests. Midterm and final make up entire grade. Barely used textbook (rent it if anything), lectures provided enough information. No HW but make sure you keep up on lectures. Received an A- and also learned a lot, couldn't ask for more!
Great guy! He elaborates on PowerPoints with person experiences and clear explanations. Anyone that complains just did not put time into course. He is a great guy and very approachable. As a matter of fact all the other students I know in the class loved him and did well.
I enjoyed class. Professor was great and clearly explained subject.
He just reads the text powerpoints (I think he's a rookie?) and on video its worse than live! But he also uses the old text test banks I think, so exams are a breeze. Didn't learn much, but got a B+ without much effort at all! Take him!
He's nice. I missed my final exam and he let me take it passed the due date. his lecture is mega boring so i never watched it, just read the book and i was fine.
I had his class as a lecture capture course in the summer. He explains things very well, but READ THE TEXTBOOK. There are two exams a midterm and a final each exam cover like 11-14 chapters. That is a lot of information to cover so start studying early. There are no homework or extra credit. But he might curve the grade at the end of the semester.
His class is really boring but anything involving law is bound to be boring. He's an ok professor but you only have the midterm and final and 2 ethics test (easy). He gives NO HW. Ur grade is all tests, so you HAVE to do well or you won't pass. Reading the book helps. Mainly know the vocab and be able to identify them in scenario situations.
Great professor! Really knows the law and explains it well.
He's OK. I took the LCV course in spring and just finished BUL II, and came to the conlcusion that I didn't really learning anything in BUL I, which made BUL II that much more difficult. If you plan on taking BUL II, would strongly suggest you avoid the LCV class and take BUL I in a regular classroom format.
He is a nice guy and a good professor. I found his lectures interesting. He is super responsive to emails and fair.
I really enjoyed Professor Gendler's class and highly recommend you take him. There are actually 4 tests he gives and he goes over what we will be on the tests during reviews.
He is a good professor. I did well and found the class interesting. If you attend class, read the assigned chapters and attend the exam reviews you will do well.
I disagree with the last two ratings. He is an awesome professor. The class was interesting and if you studied you did well. I did well cause I read the chapters and went to the exam reviews.
I took the online version of this class. The class is made up of lecture captures, a mid term and a final. The only difficulty is the online exams are proctored so you need to learn the material. Still I only watched the review lectures and got a B+
Watch the lectures, pay close attention to both the powerpoints and what he's saying about them. Pay very close attention to the mid term and final reviews. Do this stuff and you'll get a B or A. He's a good guy, I'd take him again.
Great Professor. Makes the law interesting. Lectures help understand material. Read assigned chapters before class. I would take him again and hope that he will teach business law 2.
Very smart and interesting to listen to. His lectures are long and very boring. It is alot of legal concepts which tend to be dry and monotone- I get it. He gives comprehensive exam reviews to give students an idea of what they're tested on.
Enjoyed class and learned a lot about law. Would recommend. Gives reviews for the exams to prepare you. Nice guy.
Good professor, he really wants you to succeed. I have to admit, I only watched the reviews. The professor technically reads the slides, sometimes adds some info here and there. The tests' scenario questions are clear if you study. Based on the minimal energy I've put into this class, I'd say it's an easy A if you watch all the lectures.
Watch the review lectures and take notes on all of the slides and you will pass. Like many other people, I only watched the review lectures and did fine overall. If you don't study for the exams, you will not pass the class.
I passes this class with an A-. Im thankful, there are a lot of reading and you must understand the concepts not just def. 2 tests 45%of grade each and 2 small dept tests worth 5% each. i would def going over the study lecture review he gives and get the study guide. its optional but worth it
I leaned so much in this class. He is a great teacher. Explains all. Gives reviews of all the exams before the exams which really helped. I highly recommend.
You do not have to attend class at all, and if you just watch his review, you will pass easy. Best nonclass at the school.
I Really liked his class. I learned so much about law. I recommend highly. Read the chapters before coming to class, then listen to lectures. He then gives reviews for the exams. Once he gives reviews focus on that material. If you do In that order you should get an A!
Not an easy class if you don't read and watch the lectures. Don't recommend taking it during summer term 3 as there is plenty of material and chapters to read. Dr. Gendler is helpful and cares about his students passing. Follow his suggestions and you should pass.
Exams are REALLY challenging. You MUST understand the material and apply them to scenario questions. There is A LOT of reading involved, that you must do to get an A or B. No Homework. ADVISE: Do NOT take over summer, since there is so much material. Good class overall. As for Dr. Gendler, he cares for his students and is really clear. Great guy.
Great guy! Highly recommend. Learned much.
This class was pretty straight forward. A midterm and a final made up 90% of the final grade. If you read the chapters and watch reviews you'll be fine. Honestly, I crammed for the tests and mainly used his review videos to pass. Pretty easy A or B.
Liked his class. Lecture capture format. He answered questions live both from students in the classroom and from emails received from his cyber students. He prepares you for all tests with a THOROUGH review. Thanks prof Gendler!
Great class! I recommend. Read chapters before class, then listen to lectures. Gives reviews for exams. He makes law interesting.
Professor Gendler made Law a very interesting subject to learn. Sometimes the lectures can be very long and dry, but that is the subject in general. Read the chapters before watching the lectures then watch the lectures and take notes. Gives a midterm and final exam review which are the tests almost verbatim. Learned a lot!
Take him, trust me!! Just study everyday for your mid term and final and you should get an A!! He is very knowledgable and he will respond to your emails very quickly. Great guy!
Midterm and a final each worth 40%. 2 small easy tests worth 10% each. Midterm and Final were on reviews given but a lot to remember. Didn't curve too much at the end either. Tough to get an A in this class but no homework and no need to watch weekly lectures, just reviews! Not too bad
I literally didn't read the book until one week before the test when the review was given and got an "A". Follow the review and you will ace this course.
Dr. Gendler really cares about his students. You have to read the chapters before coming to class or watching lectures online. The lectures made much more sense when you read the chapter first. Once he gives the reviews focus on that material. In order for the reviews to make sense you need to have read and watched lectures. I learned so much!
I took the lecture capture version of this course. I went to every single class before the midterm (got 100% on the midterm), and then just stopped going. It's not that the class was boring, he just went way too fast through the PowerPoints. And since he doesn't post lecture PowerPoints on BlackBoard, I had to re-watch lectures anyway.
Dr. Gendler is great! He makes a hard topic easy to understand. Take him!
There's only two exams , midterm and final and two departmental exams which are smaller. So do good from the beginning , what the lectures and study all the info on them. You dont need a book. the lectures are pretty boring but its an easy A if you study his lectures.
easy and straight-forward. I didn't go to class but watch the majority of taped lectures later and studied the review thoroughly. I received an "A".
I highly recommend this Professor. Very straight forward. I never went to any of the classes but I watched all the lecture videos. Midterm, Final and 2 departmental assessments. Gives a thorough review of midterm and final. My best advice is watch the reviews after they are recorded so that you can pause them and write down the content then study!
No homework, 4 tests(mid-term, ethics, final & departmental). I didn't find the textbook to be a necessity, lectures are sufficient. He posts abbreviated power points for download but the video lecture power points are different. Be sure to study his reviews thoroughly, not just whats on the slides but the detail behind the topic. Overall, easy.
Professor Gendler is an awesome professor. His lectures are a lot to take in but just study in the order he tells you to and you'll do fine.
Awesome class! I learned a lot! Lectures are long, but interesting. If you do as the professor says, you will get a good grade.
Took his fast track class, it was a lot of reading in a short period of time. You must read the chapters and watch all lectures if you wanna get a good grade. My only dislike about the class is he always repeats himself in irrelevant information not on the test. Easy class though I passed with an A-
Took his lecture capture course. Easy class. Follow his instructions to a T. Read the chapters before lecture things will make more sense. 4 exams no homework. Gives reviews on midterm and final. Super easy just dedicate your time and make sure you listen to the lectures.
Guys a legend. Take it.
I had him for a LCVS and he gave us his email every time before class so the online students can ask questions too. I had a midterm (40%), ethics assessment (10%), Final (40%), and department exam (10%). No HW, no quizzes, and no EC. If you study hard then you will get good grades on the exams, but you need to study because you only have 2 exams.
Emre Yersel (his TA) should teach the class. Emre dumbs it down to give a clear understanding in test reviews which is how to pass. Rich lectures like a 3rd year class in law school. Emre is also a young 30 something who can easily relate to students, Gendler is just way out of touch. Gendler, stick to the court room, Emre stick to the classroom.
Awesome professor! Dr. Gendler has a Ph.D. In law and it shows. He is extremely smart and explains things well, making a hard subject easy to understand. Take him!
I didn't know I had an interest in law until I took Dr. Gendler's class. He was great! I think I am going to go to la school now. I highly recommend him.
I had Dr. Gendler for lecture capture. He really is a nice guy and very knowledgeable about law. He gives four tests and no homework. I thought law would be boring but don't think that anymore after taking his class. Read, pay attention to the lectures and concentrate on the material he gives during exam reviews and you will do well.
Lectures are long, must read the text in order to pass the exams. There are no home works and no quizzes only exam grades. I purchased learnsmart and it was a waste. Just read the chapters. Review is exactly what you are being tested on. Only complaint is that because of so much freedom, it's easy to slack off and end up cramming.
Take him! I took Dr. Gendler's lecture capture class. He explains law in a way that makes a hard subject easy to understand. Four tests make up grade and he gives exam reviews. He cares about students and wants them to succeed.
I liked that there were only two tests... You can watch lectures and read anytime that works for you and he does exam reviews.
Grade is two tests each worth 40%, and two small tests each 10%. everything on the test is in the review, but don't believe that just watching the review is going to get you an A. tests are closed book, note, and video proctored. Watch all the lectures, the review a few times, and know the study guide you make and you'll get an A or B
Really easy class. I never watched his lectures or read the chapters. You can make an A in this class by just watching the midterm and final reviews and then searching in the book for the concepts he discusses in those reviews (probably not recommended) but worked for me.
The grade is based on 4 exams. No homework is given. The two assessments are worth 20% of your grade. They aren't proctored but you have around 20 questions to complete in 25 minutes. The midterm and final are worth 80% of your grade. They are proctored and around 50 questions. You aren't aloud to use any notes or the book. Study!
This class was overall really easy. There's no homework and you are graded solely on two exams and two "quizes" I would suggest just watching the two review lectures he does right before each exam. He covers all that will be on the exams so you don't have to study anything else. The tests are definition based so they are both really easy.
Only watched the review lectures and read the textbook. In the review, he tells you the topics to study. Just read those sections in the text, because sometimes the extra info or examples from the book are the test. Questions from a test bank. Midterm and final with remote proctor, two quizzes open note. I crammed and got an A, easy class to pass.
Great Professor! There are four tests that make up entire grade. You need to read chapters, then watch his lectures. He then gives you a review for the midterm and final exam. If you do all he advises you to do you should get an A in the class. He explains things well.
Great professor! Really cares about students. Wants you to learn. Listen to his advice on how to best succeed in class. Read chapters, listen to lectures, memorize exam reviews. Very smart guy that explains subject well.
Although Gendlers class is easy enough to pass with little effort, if you ever do watch his lectures they are painful. He talks incredibly slow and is almost unbearable to listen to. With all of that aside, you really can pass this class easily. I didn't watch any lectures except the 2 reviews and passed.
I took Dr. Gendler's lecture capture class. He knows his stuff and is nice. There is no homework other than reading assigned chapters. There are four tests. Need to read, watch lectures and pay special attention to the exam reviews.
Dr. Gendler is a great teacher. His style of teacher is very law focus. He does not really go into too much details; therefore reading the chapters is essential. You won't pass if you do not read. 4 tests very easy. Pay attention to the exam reviews, they are great help.
Gendler is an awesome professor. You definitely need to get the textbook because he cannot cover all the material in class. Read the chapter before the lecture, put emphasis on whatever he goes over in lecture, and you'll get an A in the class. Class is only graded off the midterm and the final so you have to do well but they are easy if you study.
Solid overall teacher. Remember to READ THE BOOK!! This is key. His class lectures are good but they tend to go off topic. His online lectures are good but many little things are left out. I did bad on midterm because i didn't read the book, but for the final i read the book like crazy and nearly got 100%. Midterm much harder than final.
This course is broken into two 4 exams. An ethics exam(15%) and midterm(35%), then a department exam(15%) and final exam(35%). Lectures are really boring and attendance is not mandatory because of lecture capture feature. Read each chapter and watch his final review and you'll do fine. Easy A if you put a little effort in, i didn't and got a B.
Easy "A" class. Read the book, listen to his review lectures, and study based on those. Only 2 tests (plus 2 small quizzes) and work at your own pace, just make sure you keep up with reading and don't miss the 2 exams. Material is pretty straightforward and easy to learn.
His tests are straightforward. If you read the textbook and understand the concepts you will be good. His class is based only on 2 tests (your WHOLE GRADE ) and 2 small assessments so you have to do well. I would recommend getting the ebook access code online to read:its easier to study and you can test yourself through the self study.
He is a very knowledgeable person; however, his lectures are monotonous. I didn't read the book, watch his lectures, neither did I go to class, but I got a decent grade because of the exam reviews someone posted on Quizlet. Make sure you learn the material thoroughly since exams take a big part of your grade. Final is easier than the midterm.
Professor Gendler is a GREAT PROFESSOR. However, don't make the mistake and THINK you'll pass because he is a great professor. This class requires a lot of reading and the professor does provide a study guide for the midterm and final because HE CARES ABOUT THE STUDENTS.. GREAT PROFESSOR. Put in work and you'll get an A... EASY!!
Professor Gendler usually strays off topic and does not usually focus on what is described in the book. Reading the chapters is ESSENTIAL along with listening to lectures.
He is caring and wants his students to succeed. Get ready to do a lot of reading and studying, the course is a LOT of material. His lectures are very dry and boring and hard to pay attention to. Read and come to class and you will be fine.
He's a nice guy, but his lectures go off topic a lot, so the reading the textbook is a must. You will not pass this class without it. It's a lot of material, and the class is only based on two exams (midterm + final) & two assessments (quizzes). He does provide a study guide for what will be on exams too! So just read and you'll be okay!
If you take him for lecture capture do not buy the book. only watch the exam review lectures and commit everything to memory and you will pass. Exams are exactly like his reviews and straightforward. The exams are recorded assessments are not. use quizlet for the assessments. Also a few people have posted exam reviews on quizlet those are helpful
Dr. Gendler is just a great guy. Very sweet, super caring. If you need help he is a great man to talk to. There are 4 total grades: 2 exams & 2 assessments. The assessments are open note & super easy, & the exams are hard, but if you study the exam review he gives, youll do fine.
Professor Gendler was a good choice. Class grade focused on 2 small quizzes and 2 exams. So it's important you do well on them. Reading the chapters is a MUST. No need for connect code but textbook will HELP. He provides exam reviews. Over all, I enjoyed this class. I recommend taking him. If you put in the work, you will do fine.
Great lectures, tries to simplify the material. Good final review, very clear on his excpectations and grading criteria.
Professor Gendler is pretty great! He is very clear in his expectations, explains material very well. There are only 2 exams and 2 quizzes that you have to do, so make sure you get prepared for them because thats what your grade will consist of.
Go on quizlet and do flashcards!! A LOT TO LEARN !
Not too difficult, tests on the basic material. His three hour lectures are quite flat, so watch at your own risk (I didnt). All important material is on Quizlet. I essentially forgot about this class, except in the week before both exams, where I crammed like crazy. Apparently the midterm was harder than the final, but both were pretty easy.
Class consists of two assessments, midterm, and final. Midterm is way harder than final. I watched lectures and review he makes for the midterm and got a 66 (chapters1-8). For the final I didnt watch one lecture and just his review and got a 92(chapters 13-20,50-51,32). He says you need the textbook to pass the class, but you can pass without it.
For the online class, you must read all the chapters specified for the exams. His review lectures really help if you read the required material.
Took the advanced class. It is A LOT of information. You MUST study and read the book to pass the exams. Good lectures, but it is a ton of information to process. He gives reviews before the exams, which are helpful. Best Advice: be prepared to study!
The class is extremely challenging for someone who has no interest in law. You are graded on just a midterm and a final. But Professor Gendler gives you a chance to pass with his very in-depth midterm and final review lectures. With a lot of studying, I got a C on the midterm and a B on the final. Exams are proctored, and closed book & notes.
One of the best professors I have ever had. Take him.
TAKE HIM ,You will not regret it . This class cover a lot of chapters but you can go online to help you prepare for the midterm and final.( quizzlet .)
This class is basically 2 big exams and 2 small exams. The big exams are proctored the small ones aren't. You need to read and watch the lectures, speed up the video speed as he talks a little slow. The professor also does exam reviews which are helpful and there is a great review on Quizlet. It is not difficult if you actually learn the material.
As a person who just finished this class, READ! Take this class very seriously. He tells you himself to read and follow up with the lectures! I agree, i learned as much as i could.
The online lectures are sooooo boring but cover all of the material well. You do not need to buy the textbook. It's basically a midterm and final that make up the bulk of your grade. There is no hw. So just make sure you know the topics in his online lectures and you will do well.
I got an A- in this class because of the previous ratings and quizlet. The lectures a re a waste of time, because the he gives 4 assignments (2 exams and 2 quizzes that are solely based on the textbook). The first midterm I used book, quizlet, and watched lectures and got an 85%, I got a 91% on final w/ textbook and quizlet only.
To pass, read the book to understand the concepts. Watch the lectures. He gives a midterm and final exam review. Screenshot his powerpoint slides for it. it is about 80 slides. MEMORIZE IT AND READ IT 100X. You will be fine.
Gave up on watching the lectures bc they are so lengthy and made me more confused than it did clarify concepts. Read the book, take good notes, then when the study guides come out for the midterm and final, write it down and memorize it. Exam is off of that with some real-life scenarios.
Barely utilized the book and used quizlet for exams. Final is easier. That being said, I do have regrets of not reading the material. Gendler is very passionate about law and is a solid choice. It turns out some of the chapters contain valuable information. Class isnt easy, but it will be beneficial in the future.
In short, if you want to pass this class you have to READ the textbook. The tests don't really have any application questions, contrary to what I thought so it just comes down to knowing the information. Even though attendance is mandatory, he doesn't teach you the material, but don't worry about it. The textbook is all you need.
i watched the lectures online, took notes from his pp. i didn't do well in the first exam so i studied hard for the second exam and passed. theres only two exams which is your grade, with each exam there is also an assessment test approx 20 questions. exams use honor lock and assessments don't. speed up the online lectures.
READ READ READ!!! class only consists of 4 exams (midterm, midterm assestment, final, final assestment) Dont wait until its too late to start studying unless your memory is good. Its alot of content
Professor Gendler was a good teacher. Took his class online, 2 exams, 2 quizzes or assessments. You need to read! I read the chapters, copious notes, used flashcards & watched the reviews. Got an A. Assessments are easy and only based on one chapter. Exams lengthy. Midterm harder than final. Just study and youll be ok, its law.
Easy class, BUT LOTS of reading. I stopped going to the lectures and focused on the reading and found no difference not going to class. HOWEVER, he has only 4 grades so you MUST do the reading, just like you would in any other business law class anyways. Tests are monitored online. He gave us 1 case to study, otherwise its all concept. I got a B+.
The class can be a lot of information but he's a really nice guy. Do not buy the textbook, you will never use it even though he tells you to read it. Watch the lectures and study the review he gives and you will be fine
It's what I expected - there's no homework at all, only four exams, two of which are monitored and then the other two aren't and are department assessments. Not hard, but you really do need to read the chapters and review the PowerPoint slides. The only lectures that I listened to were his midterm and final review - the others are pointless to me
To the point, you wont need txt book so don't buy it, assessment answers on socratic app. Grade is ONLY based on midterm, final, and 2 assessment/assignments. He gives you all the info that will be in the exam in the review. He's kind of boring during the recorded lectures, but he's a nice person!
Don't bother buying the book. The only things he grades are 2 tests and 2 assessments. Didn't talk to him the whole time I was in this class. Just sends you an email reminding you to take your test. Make a quizlet with all the terms and you'll pass. I watched his first video and that's it.
Dr Gendler was one of the most difficult professors I have ever had to deal with, his tests are hard . He only does a midterm and final, so your grades are based on that. Keep in mind that he does NOT CURVE no matter if you are 1 or 2 points away from the grade. I would not take him again
Only midterm & a final, able to pass just from the reviews before the exams but memorization will be heavily needed. Lectures are long and his voice is very monotone
De. Gendler really cares about his students. He explains things well. There are four tests that make up your grade. Read and the watch lectures. He gives a midterm and final exam review. He really wants you to succeed but you need to do the work.
If you are willing to put in the work you will do fine. Dr. Gendler explains law clearly and is very knowledgeable. Responds to emails very quickly. He really cares for his students.
Very nice and knowledgeable Professor. Follow his advise for best practices for course success and you should do well. Grade is based on four tests.
Great Professor. There are four tests. Two are proctored and two are not. If you follow his advice by reading chapters first, watching lectures after and then memorizing the exam reviews you will do well. Dont take shortcuts. He tells you how to succeed. He also really knows the law and makes it interesting.
Dr. Gendler is a fair professor and really knows law. He explains law in way that it easy to understand. There are four tests.. Follow his advice regarding best practices which include first reading assigned chapters, then watch lectures and then study for tests. He gives reviews for the midterm and final. You will need book.
Professor Gendler is great! Great lectures and how he relates every topic to the real world, and why the topics we cover are relevant. Being that 70% of your final grade is on the midterm and final, even if you work hard on the chapters you aren't given much cushion. Wish there were quizzes or discussions incorporated into the course.
Very knowledgeable professor! This class requires a lot of reading, I found the material super interesting. Make sure to not get behind on the reading, know the key terms and study his review and you'll do great. The midterm is harder than the final. Make sure to study extra for it. The final review is exactly the final exam. Follow best practices.
Dr. Gendler is very smart and nice. He explains law clearly and uses real world examples. I followed his advice regarding best practices and did well. There are four tests.
A new Business Elective co taught w/ Levy & Gendler w/ Ricci as Head Teacher for the class, basically a class of exploring different majors, minors & certificates offer w/in the COB, lecture videos are long but its helpful for both deciding on what u want at FAU & pass the weekly quiz, very helpful as a Freshman & other levels as well (mixture)
Class is legit 2 quizzes and 2 exams,(midterm and a final). To study, you really only have to look at the exam reviews, to try and read the textbook front to back is a waste of time. Class is legit just memorization. It is proctored though, so I'd recommend studying the material at least 3-4 days ahead of the exam. Attendance was required for class
Hard tests.
Dr. Gendler is a nice man. He really cares about his students. He is also very smart when it comes to law and explains the material well. There are four tests in the class. If you follow his directions regarding how to succeed in his class you will do well. I also learned so much.
Great professor! I highly recommend!
This class is so easy. You do not need to follow his "best practices" entirely, watching his lectures is a waste of time. Just study for the exams and use the textbook. It is stressful that the exams and assessments make up your entire grade (4 things), but in a way it's good because I ignored this class most of the semester and still got an A.
Textbook is required. Read assigned chapters before lectures. He gives reviews for midterm and finals which he records for class. Answers emails fast. Wants students to do well. Dr. Gendler is nice. Would take again. Learned so much.
Tough grader. you are only given 4 tests with no extra credit. many people will be retaking with a better structure
Dr. Gendler cares about his students, is smart and knows the law.
Dr. Gendler's class is required of all business majors at FAU. He answers emails fast and will spend as much time as you need with him to explain the material if you make an appointment to meet with him. He also tells stories related to the material from cases he worked on as a lawyer which really help. He seems to really care.
2 very hard proctored tests. He doesn't teach
Dr. Gendler is a great professor. He just won professor of the year at FAU! The students vote so most students agree with me. He cares about students and makes the law interesting and understandable.
Professor Gendler is very passionate about what he teaches and he cares for student success. He is very clear on what he expects from students. However, your grade is made up of a midterm and final which means if you bomb one test, youre gonna have to try really hard to make up for it. There is a lot of reading (Usually 2 chapters a week)
Taking course online. Recorded lectures consists of professor reading verbatim off the slides with little to no explanation. Very clear he puts forth the minimal effort required and goal is to finish as quick as possible. At times you can hear an audible "sigh" during the recording which is discouraging to hear such disinterest from your professor.
Dr. Gendler's grade is based on four tests. He gives reviews for midterm and finals which he records for the class. Dr. Gendler answers emails fast. He really wants students to do well and is nice. I would 100% take his class again. I learned so much about law.
Great class! Did it fully online during COVID-19. The whole class was based on 4 tests, which 2 of them are open notes and open book and the other 2 are proctored closed notes and book. He gives has reviews for the midterm and final so as long as you study you'll pass with no issues. I would take him again hands down!
This class was not difficult at all. For the midterm and final use quizlets to study and you should be all set. I got A's on both of them. I liked how there wasn't homework for this class because I had time to focus on other ones. Make sure you attend class and have your camera on. He calls on students who have their camera off way more.
This guy is a joke of a professor. Whole class is based of 2 tests and 2 assignments. His lectures are boring and you're gonna have to read the book. He doesn't go into much detail on important things and really just reads off the slides. Its pathetic that college students pay thousands for tuition only to barely be taught.
Great Professor! Did not know I had an interest in law until taking this course. He really cares about his students. He also practiced law for many years and brings his real life experience into the classroom. Great story teller! But you need to read the text and watch lectures or you will not pass. If you put in the effort you will get an A!
Class is based on 4 exams. 2 proctored and 2 open note. Attend the lectures and focus on studying the reviews he provides and you will pass. I would recommend.
Dr. Gendler really cares about his students. He responds to emails quickly. He also is so knowledgeable about the law. There are four tests in the class and he gives reviews before the tests. Make sure you read and watch lectured before reviews and you will do well.
Dr. Gendler is super nice. He is also very smart when it comes to law. He explains things well. I did not know I was interested in law until taking his class. If you follow his instructions on how to do well in the class which he gives you at the beginning of the course you will do well.
He was a really nice professor. His lectures were very thorough. Only graded by 4 tests the whole semester, 2 with honorlock, 2 no restrictions. You definitely need to study to pass and reading the textbook along with the material provided helped me a lot.
His lectures are terribly boring and don't add any new information so just read the textbook chapters; the exam study guides have everything that is on the exam; the exams are easy but not open book ; 2 open book quizzes; only grades are the 2 exams (midterm and final) and 2 open book quizzes; can go almost whole semester without doing much
Great Professor! Cares about students m. Great lectures. Brings his real life experience to the classroom.
Great professor. Did not know I had an interest in law until I took his class. His lectures are great.
Super nice guy. He gives a lot of scenarios and stories to make you understand the information better.
Absolute worst way to learn Business Law. Mundane pre-recorded lectures. Avoid at all costs, waste of money.
Dr. Gendler explains business law concepts well. Always tells stories to bring concepts to life. Highly recommend!
Responses to emails are vague. Other than that he is a good professor.
Boring "canned" lectures. Would not recommend.
Amazing Professor! I learned so much about law. Lectures are super interesting as he discussed his real life experiences. Take him!
If you are a good test taker & want your whole grade to depend on 2 tests take this professor! This class consists of two 100-question tests (midterm & final). This class doesn't give a student the time to learn the information over time. I don't find his lectures interesting. I think people would learn more from this class with more busy work.
I do not recommend this class. Although the professor was very kind, his lectures were very boring and you barely learned anything. The whole grade depends on 4 test, two of which use honor lock and are not open book or notebook. Too much information and too little time to learn it all. Ah, and he doesn't even give a good study guide.
He is okay. Lectures are sorta pointless. Just read the book and study a few quizlets. 2 tests and 2 assignments. If you miss any of them, tough luck, you'll be retaking this class next semester. You can cram 8 chapters a week before your exams and pass this class.
Amazing professor! Did not know I had an interest in law until taking this class. Gives four tests and provides great reviews.
Amazing!
Follow his instruction. Read the chapter prior to watching the lecture. You will pass easily. Midterm is harder than the final. The reviews saying the lectures are boring, or they didn't learn anything, are all from people who didn't try at all and wanted an easy A. This isn't the professor for that. TRY. Read the chapters. Easy pass. Loved Gendler
No comment.
Great professor! Follow his advice about best practices and you will do well.
Come to class pay attention to reviews and read the chapter in order to pass and learn.
He reads from PP and sometimes explains but be prepared to retain information from twelve chapters for each test in a short time. You'll have two proctored exams and two assessments.
You only have 2 Exams and 2 Assessments the entire course. His lectures are not necessarily boring but stale. As long as you study and prepare for the exams you should be solid. The exams are proctored but the assessments are treated like classwork.
Suggest you take someone else for B Law.
Great Professor! Did not know I was interested in law until taking this class. He is fair and caring. Makes law understandable. Responds to emails fast. I highly recommend!
Great Professor!
Lectures is PP based. Studied mostly quizlets. 2 test proctored 2 quizzes 19 questions. Easy A. Will take again
Prof. Gendler is great! He's strict but fair. The midterm and final are your entire grade so you have to do well, but his reviews for them are very clear and helpful. Put in the work and you'll get an A.
Great Professor! I highly recommend you take him!
Great Professor! I recommend him.
Great Professor. Weekly lectures. Two exams are your entire grade. Review for exams AND Quizlets is how to study for both. NO HOMEWORK, except reading, for your own benefit. Extremely fair teaching style.
This professor is very smart. I love how he brings his real life experiences into the classroom. He also cares for his students. If a student complains it is because they did not follow his advice on how to succeed in his class. If you follow his advice you will do well.
Great Professor. I highly recommend! He really cares about his students. There are four tests and he tells you at the beginning of the class how to prepare for them.
Amazing Professor!
I did not know I had an interest in law until taking this professor. He told us about his real life experiences which related to his lecture topics. He tells you at the start of the course the best strategy for doing well. I followed his advice and got an A. There are four required tests. (not sure why some comments say there are only two).
Great Professor! I highly recommend. in law until taking this professor. There are four tests. He gives amazing lectures. Take him!
Professor is a great man with lots of knowledge to the law itself however, his 2 Exams worth 70% of my grade and no "extra credit" rule ruined this entire course experience for me.
I took this course because it was required as part of my major. I am happy I did. This amazing professor explained how law is involved not only in business, but in our daily lives. I am seriously considering going to law school after taking Professor Gendler. He really is a nice guy and great professor. Take him!
I used the textbook and Quizlet to study. I also made sure to give myself a week to study before the midterm and final. It is very crucial to give yourself a realistic study timeline that works for you. The structure of this class worked for me as I did not have to give it my full attention for most of the semester.
Amazing Professor! He is fair and caring. Always answers emails right away. He also gives great exam reviews before tests. Gives great lectures.
Amazing professor. Just graduated FAU Best professor I had during my entire time there. Take him!
I took the course that has just the midterm and final. There was no extra credit work. I suggest you read the chapters first and then listen to the lecture. Try not to fall behind in your readings as the test cover a lot of chapters. If you do this you should do fine.
The fast-track course is material-heavy. As long as you manage your time well, you should be fine. Only 1 midterm and 1 final, as long as you care enough to study you will be good. Two other quizzes make up 30% combined so do well on the midterm and final. Good professor and would take law with Dr. Gendler again.
So, your whole grade is based on 2 exams and 2 quizes. The quizes are not monitor, and classmates can help around. but the test, those are hard. I got a 71, and I didnt study. Therefore for the Final exam, I watched his lectures and its better. He is fun to watch. Not a hard class, but you just need to put in the time.
DR Gendler by far has been one of the best professors at FAU. The class does require a lot of reading and understanding but if you try, you will pass. This class itself is not as hard as people say it is, you are expected to read and attend the lectures and that should be sufficient for a good grade.
The best thing you can do for yourself it is attending in person, he always invites the online students to the in person and i think he would also appreciate it. You will definitely do better if you come in person. Great professor , great class.
Great professor, even better human being! He offers the opportunity for online students to attend his lectures in person. 100% Recommend
In all honesty, this class isn't too bad. I attended online and frankly never watched the lectures. There are 2 quizzes and 2 tests. As long you study well a week before the exam, you should be good. I got high 80's on the tests, and the quizzes are open note and not proctored. It is a lot of material though.
Professor Gendler is a nice guy, but his lectures are really boring and he tends to go off topic. If you get the book and keep up with the readings, this class should be an easy pass.
One of the most quality profs at FAU, definitely take him if you can! Learned a lot and gained a new interest in law from him, highly recommend. Very anecdotal but has lots of interesting stories from his career/experience. Read the book and study the vocab and you'll pass.
I had this professor for bul1, however bul2 is different. He reads from ppt with no additional explanation, has a quiz for each chapter, and 2exams worth most of the grade. The exams are heavy, 8ch each, not with terms as he says to study, but most with scenarios. Read all the scenarios from the book and apply the terms.
Professor Gendler's class is manageable with some preparation. The lectures can be dry, but the textbook and resources like Unstuck AI make studying a breeze. Attend class, stay engaged, and you'll likely do well.
Do not take him for 6 weeks summer if you not ready to read read read. Don't worry about his lectures, focus on reading and understanding the informations in the book
The class is easy enough. There are only four assignments and two of them are tests. However, the reviews the professor and his son give before the test are amazing, very detailed, and perfect for procrastinators like me. It's not a hard class if you're not a good test taker then this class.
Don't watch lectures as they provide nothing the textbook doesn't already explain. Class is two non proctored quizzes with low weights, and two exams w high weights. Generally study termonology and understand basic concepts you'll be good.
His Blaw 2 lectures were straight to the point and were short (most are from 15-25 min), but he just reads from the slides and no further explanation, it also has around two hypo cases at the end of every lecture. Weekly graded quizzes for each chapter and you're also graded on two exams (midterm and final). A kind of boring, but doable class
I think Gendler teaches Business Law well and makes it clear from the beginning that it is important to read and attend the lectures and this is true as I was only able answer one or two test questions because of something he said in class. Also, what's on the mid term reviews he does is 95% of what is on the exam, so really study all the terms.
Class is ridiculous. All he assigns is a midterm and a final, THATS IT. So your grade is determined on those 2 things. He gives no assignments or anything to help you retain what he teaches. And his lectures are beyond boring and poorly executed as he just reads slides and moves on, giving minimal examples & not going in depth.
Midterm and final on honor lock, but very easy. I didn't do anything until a few days before each and just studied quizlets and got an A. Not a hard class.
2 proctored exams w 55 questions, and 2 nonproctored quiz with 20 questions. Only these things are what's giving you your grade. Wish there were more assignments so the tests aren't so heavy and hard to save. His exam reviews (released a week before exams) are what's on the tests, study them! make quizlets! Im still in the progress of his class.
Great professor! Amazing lectures.
Lectures were pretty unengaging, but worth it. The class is very test-heavy, one midterm and one final with 2 department assessments, that's it for your grade. It is VERY easy to fall behind in this class. Stay on top of the lectures and watch his midterm/final review & STUDY. The exams are very similar to the review. Great class!!
I am fascinated in law so I loved this class but if you're not, the class may be seem a little boring but still fairly easy. STUDY FOR THE TESTS. The class relies on only 2 grades (midterm+final) but both are easy to pass if you watch his lectures, everything on the exams was reviewed in the lectures but it's recommended to read the text also.
There were only 3 exams for the entire semester. No assignments which I did not like. You go over a LOT of information for every exam.
I took this in Fall 2024, it was very easy to fall behind. There were two chapters to read each week, plus an 1 hour and 20 minutes to watch every Tuesday and Thursday. The entire grade was based solely on the Midterm and Final. He is a good professor, though; it is just an easy course that can be easily pushed to the side or become uninteresting.
