His class is hard as ever, so if you only want to take 1 class go ahead and take his if not try to take it with someone else. Great guy, but couldnt stay awake in his calss.

You have to go to class to pass. I had him 1 night a week and it is hard to stay awake. But he knows his stuff. Kinda freaked me out when he knew my name the first day of class. He memorizes everyones name from their pics on the student ID

He is awesome! There are some difficult concepts in this class but he is very helpful when you dont understand something. He teaches the class in a way that keeps your attention and he really knows his stuff. And he learned the names of all 250 students!

He is one of the tougher professors in the department, but he does it to push you to be better. He is amazingly creative and really cares about his students.

Dr. Gilson rocks. His class kept everyone focused and interested. His weekly quiz policy was great, because it let students figure out the areas they needed to study more in before the exam. I thoroughly enjoyed this class.

Don't get freaked out by the amount of info being thrown at you (especially in the 3 hour class. The class is hard but the weekly quizzes will get you ready for the cumulative final. All questions on the final were from the quizzes. GO TO CLASS.

Best Psych teacher there. He is informative, inspirational and full of life. I wish he taught more undergrad. His study guides and study groups were tops. A lot of material but overall the best.

Dr. Gilson was the best professor I have had at UCF. I heard so much about him before taking his class and everything was true. He's amazing. He's greatly influenced my life. The class isn't easy, but study and go to the study groups and you'll be fine.

Dr. Gilson is everything I expected a university professor to be. He is intelligent beyond belief, easy to talk with, has a wonderful personality and he really loves to teach. The material was difficult but he explains it perfectly. Take the class and have a new found repect for psychology.

Though Professor Gilson is quite ecsentric, his thought pattern is scattered all over the place. If you're insane, you'll follow along nicely. He is smart, but he's off his rocker. He expects a lot from each of his students, but he is willing to help. Nice guy. Most important to remember: although this is a Psych class, IT'S NOT PSYCHOLOGY!!!!

One of the best teachers I have ever had, He made me actually have an interest in physio psych. Take him if you can...also physio psych is totally a psych course, its should be the core of every psych class

Dr. Gilson is an amazing professor and if any of you are lucky enough to take a class with him, do not pass up that opportunity. He is interested and involved in your learning. His classes are not a cake walk but he makes you want to learn. He has definately earned my respect as a professor.

Prof. Gilson is great--it is his enthusiasm for teaching and determination for his students to learn! He has a great sense of humor and knows how to keep you interested even during a long lecture. I have learned SO much from this course and can actually say I will miss taking it!

He is pretty much the smartest and nicest person you will ever meet. The class is a guaranteed A. Optional quizes for extra credit. By the time I got to the final, I had so much extra credit that I only needed a 38% for an A!!!!

Greatest teacher I've ever had. So much fun. Couldn't wait to go to class. Very clear, helpful, and compassionate. The class however, was a bit too easy, very difficult to get anything but an A. hehe. I will truly love Dr. Gilson til the day I die.

The material is pretty difficult, but Gilson is brilliant. Though I'm an A student, I felt overwhelmed by some of the lectures. Luckily, he'll go over a lot of the info in later classes. Quizzes were moved online half way through the sem, which made it way easier. Interesting class, just try to keep up.

THIS IS COLLEGE! If you don't study, you won't recieve a passing grade. Anyone who would give this professor a bad mark is either really studpid, really lazy, or a mixture of both.

One of the best professors at UCF. Interesting most the time if you like the subject. Extremely friendly and approachable. No tests, just quizzes(25q)which are fairly easy as long as you just look at the slides beforehand or stay for the review at end of class. Not an "easy" class due to material, NOT teacher. I plan on taking him again.

This is NOT an easy class. That being said, it is a difficult subject. There are weekly quizzes (which are basically tests) and powerpoint evaluations. No tests except the comprehensive final. It is a very disorganzied class and you wont get to actually speak to him out of class. Thats the TA's jobs. I would take another professor if possible.

Dr. Gilson is a great guy and seems like he loves teaching. This is a tough subject, and he tries to make it interesting, but after the first hour of class you're dazed and confused. About half of what he says goes over my head. Difficulty: he gives quizzes to boost your grad, so going into the final i could get a 50%(F) and still have an B.

Dr. Gilson is the most outstanding professor I have ever had. He uses his knowledge unselfishly to inspire and motivate his students, and does his best to keep all three hours of class interesting. I highly recommend this man becuase he cares about his students and it shows. If you aren't afraid to study, you will do wellin his class!

Dr. Gilson is a great guy and an excellent professor. His lectures are taught with the assumption that the students have already read the book prior to the lecture. If you dont read before the lectures you wont understand anything. Aside from that anybody saying all of these negative comments is truly ignorant. There is nothing hard about his class

Great Teacher! The class is not difficult. The people complaining on here are problem one of the 60% of students that skppied lectures every week. Take him you will not be dissapointed.

Dr. Gilson is a truly GREAT professor. He is probably one of the most intelligent, passionate, and caring people you will ever meet. The material is a little difficult, but not even close to impossible. Anyone who says Dr. G is a bad professor is ignorant and probably some other things as well. Trust me TAKE GILSON!!!

Weekly quizzes not hard because of in-class reviews. Drops lowest quiz at end. Only one exam, which is the final. Not hard because of in-class review and use of some old quiz questions. Good PP lectures and they're put online. I didn't use book and got a B. TAs and Gilson very helpful and quickly respond to email. 6-9pm class conflicts with plans.

You will be hard-pressed to find a student who attended classes and did not like this professor. Gilson is very knowledgeable, helpful and approachable. Honestly, one of the best professors to have at UCF. I would definitely take another class with him.

I think Dr. Gilson has helped me when I was struggling: as a person, and as a student. I believe that he goes beyond what a "person receiving a paycheck" would go. I think I can be candid in saying, he has taught me to be okay with being myself; in-turn, enabling me to be a better student--not of just psychology, or even school; but, of life.

I rate the easiness as a "3" because: one simply has to work to receive their grade(s). Additionally, no class is easy. Re-take a professor and you will learn that you were just "at the top of your game." One has to respect Dr. Gilson, because: (1) he has worked hard to learn all that we are being taught and (2) because he EARNS your respect...

I think he's one of the best prof. in the psych. dep. Very, very intelligent person. He had a Genuine interest to help us learn. Its considered tough material but I didnt know how much I had learn until I took his final. You walk out with a sense of worth. Loved his method of teaching. I wish he would teach more undergrad. classes.

Dr. Gilson is probably my favorite teacher of all time. If not, he's clearly in the top 5. This guy is amazing. He's an absolute genius as well, and has developed a bit of a name for himself in the Neuroscience arena. Crazy high IQ; mine's about 160, and he's processing on a whole different level. Fascinating to be around.

This class isn't easy by any means. The material is difficult and it's hard to learn it in an online class. If you stay on top of the material though you'll be OK. Small errors in the quizzes didn't really matter. Professor Gilson is a really good guy though. Always willing to help. Meet him in person if you can, he really is awesome.

Dr G is a wonderful teacher. The online version of this course is hard but if you stay on top of your work you will get an A even if you don't ace the quizzes. Also, there is an option to take the final online as well; no mandatory meetings. He makes sure to reply to all questions. To the people that rated Dr G low: you just weren't trying! A+ Dr G

DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS ONLINE. I am telling you now. Save your GPA. Our class average is currently 80. If you get three wrong out of the 25 questions on the quizzes then you automatically can't get an A! I am a very good student who is writing this out of anger because I failed yet another quiz of his even though I studied ridiculously.

I had Dr. Gilson for an online class. His notes are lengthy and it does take awhile to read them, but they're very informative. He only gives you 25 minutes to answer 25 questions, but you're not supposed to be looking stuff up as you take the quiz. I know this may annoy some people, but in college you must LEARN! I got an A, so it can be done.

I didn't use the book. I took it online and just wrote down all the notes on the slide show and took the tests based on that. I got a B. 25 minutes to answer 25 questions. No cushion, your grade is based on quizzes and the final only. Drops your lowest quiz grade. final is worth 25% of grade. I'm taking him again.
