Very good math teacher.I cant findanyone like him anymore.He gives extra credit and is a fair teacher.I wish he would teach all the other classes that I need..Oh,I took him in the summer and he made it enjoyable.MUST TAKE!!!

He explains things very well, but his tests are tricky. It is an interesting class, but you have to read the book and take good notes to do well on the tests. He has extra credit and real easy homework to help you too.

Excellent lectures. Sit in the front row--you will not regret it. He makes the class fun with all his Scientific toys. Great teacher overall. Has a short fuse from time to time, but his excellent job of teaching greatly makes up for it.

One of the best professors I've ever had. Not easy, but then, it is Physics after all! ;-) Anyway, keep at it Mr. G! (I just wish I could pronounce his name!). Lab was actually FUN! The TA Mr. John was cool too, he knows his music!

Great Teacher!!! Knows and explains physic really well. Two downsides though, he handwrites the tests, and he has the worst handwriting there is. Also, he is kind of eccentric, hard to talk to, yeah, but most good teachers are.

This would be a good professor if he was more approachable. He knows his subject, but sucks a big egg when you approach him for help before and after class,so because of this I give this professor a big thumbs down.

very knowledgeable... be prepared to take copious notes. hard tests. the first two questions are fair but the last question is hard. take calc before you take 101-102 but i learned a lot from him

Definately leaned a lot from this instructor, but it's not cakewalk. If you're there to learn (and if your taking engineering physics, you better be, or choose another career path) you'll come out knowing your stuff.

A very smart man, yet outrageously IGNORANT and RUDE. Can't approach him for anything. Tests don't have anything to do with lectures and are VERRRY hard!! Good Luck if you take him.

THIS GUY is great at teaching physics, absolutely wonderful. HE IS NEWTON HIMSELF, or EINESTEIN, very very smart. BUTTTTTTTTTTTT, He IS terrible(I repeat, terrible) when you approch him and ask him questions. HE also seems pissed off sometimes for some reason.

WORST TESTS! Stuff on there he hastn talked about but u are expected to know because ure supposed to have this super in depth understanding of the concept. Cant answer ur questions, doesnt like to either. But only guy u can take.

I liked physics a lot in high school but not so much anymore. he knows a lot but won't help students. the test are hard because you think you're sure of the answer but you end up being wrong. everyone did bad on tests especially since they were all only 20 questions!

Let me say reality about this teacher.He explains the concept of physics; however,he doesnt give examples similar to homework.when you go home to read book and do homework,you cant do it.HE SUCKS AT TEACHING.he cant teach.HE is only one who teaches at GCC,MY ADVISE TAKE PHYS IN OTHER COLLEGE.

I've read a lot of these reviews about Mr. G and I think students today are just lazy!! Always looking for an easy A. I took his physics class back in 1993-1994 time frame and I felt he provided an excellent foundation. I got a bachelor's degree in physics and feel that he gave the best foundation for that type of work.

Mr. G is definitely a hard professor. Unfortunately, too many times students equate hard with bad teaching. He makes you work, but in the end you gain a good foundation in physics.

Difficult class (due to the difficult nature of the subject), yet very clear and well thought out lectures. Very good teacher. Anyone who doesn't like him as a teacher probably didn't do any work and got a D or something.

G is the best teacher anyone, who is interrested in the subject, could as for. He is very hard, and he expects alot from his students, however he delivers such a clarity to such an extremly hard subject, such that you actually understand the concept. If you read the book and look carefully at the examples from class and the book, you'll do fine.

Do the homework questions, take good notes, and a B is garanteed. He is hard to approach but being successfull in this class is very possible. I do recommend him.

He's into the subject, but makes it extremely hard. Tests are incredibly hard. Couldn't figure out a way to prepare good for them. Moreover, it's very hard to keep up with the lecture because of his horrible handwriting.

Mr. G was the most knowledgable,inspiring, and helpfull instructor i have ever had. As a transfer student i proudly recommend him as your teacher specially if u're thinking about engineering. you will learn alot and have a memorable experience in his class.just keep on the hardwork and u'll see the result.

He's a grea teacher. He knows what he's talking about and put it in words that we can easily understand. He tried a new approach with us, instead of leactures he uses labs as complimentary information to help us. We usually rmember the labs during the test. Easy class(PHY110), tests are simply all from labs and lectures. a straight forward teacher.

Prof G is one of the best physics teacher. He is really there to teach you. He is not like other careless teachers. Excellent notes and lecture, tests are fair and teach you a lot. Labs are fun. Just study lectures follow what he assigns you will do geate. Fantastic job. Two tumbs up.

He cares about his students and he knows what he's talking about. great lectures, fair exams, and a lot of real life stories that will want you to stay in the classroom more, and learn more from him. His knowledge about physics is unbelievable, if all the college and university professors were like Mr. G....

Here is the professor with the weird last name. Dr G. is a great professor. He is so knowledgeable and knows what he is doing. The tests are neither hard, nor easy. You have to grasp the material and be able to do the homework problems. He got a proud attitude, but if you talk to him, everything changes! Overall great teacher. go for him!

the worst professor that i have met in GCC,he picks couple of student during the semester and he works with them , and that it he doesnt even care for the rest,dont even ask him questions , cz he gives u attitude as if it is forbidden to ask a question if u have difficulties, and they have given him all the physics classes ,he is not fair at all

Homework is required and useful to concepts. SI class available and also helpful, plus its is extra credit. Quizzes given are conceptual, but not hard. Quiz score worth two tests. Tests are hard. They require practice and knowing broad concepts. Conceptual questions are 40% of test and are easy to get wrong if you did not study. Grading fair.

Wow, I'm shocked by the bad comments. I took Mr G's Physics 101 class a few years back and, yes, it was a LOT of work, but he was an *outstanding* professor and we learned a ton. So many people from his class went on to really good engineering & science schools and got their degrees. Not an "easy A" at all, but if you want to learn, he's awesome.

Very interesting class, not hard at all, some use of the textbook, labs are fun and straightforward, never turns a question down, homework very reasonable (gives u a packet at the beginning of the year with questions and assigns certain numbers throughout the year) fun stuff

Professor G. is a great man: knowledgeable, fair and passionate. It is a little hard, but possible to get A. Do assigned homework and labs, attend SI’s and study for test (write whatever he said during lecture and study from your notes and book). You will really learn in his class.

He is very passionate and cares for his student. In all we had 4exams which consist of 8 conceptual questions and 3 problems. If you pay attention in class, understand his lectures and spend some time on it you'll do just fine. Do HW and LABS!

In physics 110, he practically never lectures. All you do during the entire semester is the experiments from the lab book he wrote. They're pretty fun, but he refuses to give help when you ask him any questions. He expects/wants you to learn it on your own. Your grade is based on 3-4 tests (20 questions each) and a final.

OKAY! ... I'll lay it down very simply. If you take his 101, 102, classes he'll be a big notch of fun (or so i heard). Take his 110 class ... GOOD LUCK! I took his 110 class (for Non-Majors) and taught myself! He virtually just throws the lab manual at you and says "do it! Everything in there is on the Final" Lectures for about 10 days in semester.

You will need to go to class everday otherwise you will be lost and get failure grades on tests. His tests are hard but possible to get A. Do all of hmwk he assigned, not just memorizing the solutions. You need to understand how it works, then u will be fine on the tests.

He's indignant, only moderately clear, and worst of all he actually insults your intelligence for asking questions. You're basically being taught by your classmates while he just lectures on some days. Worst though...is I feel like I was suckered in. I loved the idea of his class at first. I'm so disappointed in him...hardest B I've earned.

First, I do not like textbook(not enough explanations, and doing homework problems from textbook does not really help on the tests). Second, tests are tough.(I think less than 5 people got A in phys 102). Third, why are we supposed to have only 1 physics teacher for 3 major requirement classes?

I found his lectures to be riveting and insightful but i love the subject so im biased. if you work hard u will pass. What the previous reviewer doesn't understand is that some people may find an interest in physics -after- a class, and not before it. Guys like Richard scare people like that away. I'll be fair, he's not the worst I've ever had, but he's not great either. I can see him being quite good for higher courses but he shouldn't be teaching intro.

Mr. G is an awesome teacher. He will explain the chapter thoroughly and answer any and all questions that you may have. Class participation not only helps you learn the material, but it makes the time go by so fast. If you do your homework and take notes, you will get an easy A on the tests and in the class!

Mr. G is a great professor. He really knows his stuff. He is very helpful and patient to a point but clarifies problems in many different ways that most likely one rings true. I would take another math class from Mr. G if it was offered.

Dr. G really knows the material that he teaches to his students. He is a great professor. To pass though you really have to pay attention to his lectures and take notes on whatever he discusses since they teach you the concept of the material and will definitely be on the tests. Go over the book as well and there is no reason you shouldn't pass.

Prof G is awesome, he explains everything well and in great detail. Labs are good too - you learn a lot of things about being an engineer in the field, not just an academic. A little hard to approach at first, but very nice when you try. Can't wait for 102 and 103!

He explains everything clearly and that's exactly what is going to be on the tests. His tests are not hard, but you have to think. For labs, I would say he is more strict than in his lectures because there're lots of rules that you have to follow to get full points on the labs. Personally a very nice teacher who is open to his students.

Did people really find this class that hard? I got an A in physics 110 and it wasn't hard at all. Math was virtually non-existent, it just consisted of cool discussions about physics. He never gave any trick questions on the tests, and all the material was right out of the study guide. Good teacher in my opinion.

Even though the class could be frustrating at times over all it's a pretty fun class if you're willing to learn. 3 tests and a final. Some questions on the tests can be confusing but just ask him for clarification.

Former engineer, he keeps it real. Overall hes easy going and fun. He writes the lab manuals which are LITTERED with grammatical errors, making it very difficult to understand what he wants sometimes, but ask him and he'll clarify it for you. Very strict on lab write up format and content, but it teaches you to be perfect, which is a good thing.

Physics is super-hard, but you can get a decent B if you do all the problems in the problem sets. It takes a lot of time, and will-power. The subject matter is interesting, and his lectures are wonderful because he does think like a physicist. Get people who like physics labs to be your physics lab partners, otherwise you carry their load too!!
