At 30 years old this was my first college course. Mr. Harris was an amazing teacher. His insight into criminal justice was outstanding! Participation in this class does matter! He makes sure that you are well prepared for quizzes every week! We did 1 paper in this class and 1 power point presentation! He gives excellent feedback on projects and papers! He allows you one 3x5 card to use for notes on quizzes. Mr. Harris makes the class enjoyable and allows for open debate on any issue. I highly recommend this class and this professor!

Attendance is a must (points worth). Quizzes and test can be taken the following class session if missed. Fun and easy project. Expect a class presentation. Very lax on the grading for class presentation. 3-5 index card for quizzes and exams. If you do not get a B or higher you have to reevaluate your priorities.

I had the opportunity to take Richard Harris - Admin of Justice 300. I had the best time of my life and on a Saturday! As long as you come to class and participate, you will do well in his class. He doesn't like you to be late. He provides study guides for test. He also helps out with testing questions. Paper & Presentation is not hard. Fun Class!

Lectures are crystal clear, also uses examples to his lecture based on cases in the past. Harris also goes deeper in the textbooks. it's mandatory to attend the class since they count as points, a lot of points. For Saturday classes, he's only available 30 mins before class and/or class. He's the go to person for questions on the justice system.

I took a class with Mr. Harris, he is a very good teacher. Explains and helpful in difficult areas. Examples and quiz study guide help. I wish I could take another class with him. Awesome teacher!!!!

I enjoyed taking his class. Attendance is very important in this class, so if you miss some days you won't be able to pass his class. You need the textbook because you will need to read the chapters in order to answer the study guide questions. All in all, I'm really glad I took his class and I surely learned a lot from his lectures.

I have learned so many skills and applicablele aspects from Mr. Harris this semester. His teaching style is very engaging which makes you learn! Professor Harris' class was very informative of the inner workings of the law enforcement world. He let us know how to become a millionaire by retirement and how police sub-cultures shouldn't affect you as a person. Class was overall great, oral presentation with great feedback. Took professor Harris for intro to administration of justice and his report writing class, I wish he would teach more classes. He is by far my favorite professor hes very understanding and works with you so you dont fall behind or fail. He has real life experiences that help students grasp the reality of law enforcement.

We have reports to do every week and he gives us samples on what they should look like. Overall, a very helpful class.

He is a great report writing teacher. He gives you very clear criteria on what your reports should look like and he is always available outside of class. Professor Harris can come off a little rough but he is great. The course is an introduction so don't expect to walk away as an expert. Do expect to have an understanding of many aspect of the justice system. The book is used for tests so read the chapters, there is a pretty tough final project that should be taken seriously. His feedback in great.

He is a very kind and understanding professor. Each week we had a paper, discussion post, and reading + mini quizzes + summary quiz from the textbook. There were no mandatory meetings but he was available for office hours every week. Kinda felt like busy work but he does not grade harshly at all so it wasn't stressful. Definitely reccomend!

Professor Harris is amazing!! In my course there were weekly essays and reflections, but no "busy work". He always picked great topics that connected to our lives. Professor Harris is kind, organized, and a fast grader. The weekly reading is also super interesting. I absolutely loved this class!!!

Extremely helpful and an amazing professor. He's from the field of Law Enforcement and has even taught at a Police Academy in the past, so he knows what's what. With online learning, he has even incorporated Voluntary Additional Content (VAC) modules into our everyday learning so that he can share information we wouldn't get from the book.

I took his class thinking itd be a tough class since its a criminal justice class and with the pandemic going on, well! It wasnt tough at all. Yes, it involves a lot of paper. But its manageable. Professor Harris is very helpful, he gets to the point and provides a clear explanation. If youre planning to take any of his classes, take it!!! :)

Professor Richard Harris' class was very informative and detailed. You learn a lot but also have somewhat easy assignments if you do the reading. Our reading was through Pearson which was much easier to read and evaluate versus a physical textbook.

Professor Harris is great and really wants his students to learn and succeed. Take advantage of office hours and hell give you great feedback. There is a lot of information and reading but its not too heavy and its all very interesting.

Great professor. Discussion board, reading, quiz, and essay are due weekly. He grades fairly, meaning if you put no effort it will reflect on your grade. The class was fairly easy. Pearson is needed for the class. Most of the assignments are a bit long but easy to understand. I would definitely recommend taking the class.

Really good teacher. The textbook is online through Pearson and is required to be purchased as an e-book since all of the quizzes were done through Pearson. His grading rubric is easy to follow but he follows it strictly. I had a couple of papers that lost a few points due to them not being double spaced or some other format error. Still good tho

Great Professor!! I emailed him a few times because I had some issues with the ebook grades and he responded right away. The matter was quickly resolved. I highly recommend taking this class. Lots of reading. You will do fine on the tests as long as you read the book. I took the online class,I made sure I didn't get behind and got an A.

Professor Harris is a good online teacher, being my first year in college I thought it was not bad. He gives you homework on a Monday and its not due till Friday so plenty of time. You do have tons of quizzes in the textbook he makes you buy, but they're all fairly easy. The writing prompts are easy and essays are aswell. Easy A take the class!

It was a good class. My only two complaints which are minor and did not affect my grade at all would be: the material is not really up to date with the way modern police departments handle things like evidence. Not all the assignments are posted. There were plenty of times where assignments would be created during the semester.

Professor Harris' class wasn't hard but you definitely need to keep up.I recommend being super transparent with him if you have things outside of school that are causing you to struggle with school. He was extremely understanding. Also very quick respond to emails.

I really enjoyed taking from Professor Harris. This was the second class I took from him and you can tell that he cares about student success. Discussion board and paper or case report each week. Papers need to be formatted properly other wise you lose a few points. Provides GREAT feedback on assignments and explains the topic thoroughly.

As long as you do what is expected of you on time, Professor Harris will work with you to get you where you need to be if there are any obstacles along the way.

Thank you, Professor Harris for being a wonderful professor. I haven't been in school for a long time. Harris taught me about the Criminal Justice System and how to write a paper. He has been available to meet at all times of the day. Even when I get stuck, he's always there to help me. I will be taking another class of his in the Spring of 2024.

Overall very good class. I enjoyed the consistency with this class. I knew what was expected each week, and as long as you stay on track you should be good. The professor is always there if and when you need any additional help.

I really liked how the instructions for the papers and discussions were very clear and I knew exactly where to start and what to write. It was a really fun and interesting class as well.

Everything is in the orientation, follow the rules and guidelines and everything will be done for what's expected

This was a very interesting course, it was informative and kept me engaged. My ONLY complaint is that he never gave me feedback on my assignments. The guidelines are clear and I did well on the assignments but I would have liked more feedback to help make them better. Other than that he was a great professor!

He is an understanding professors and he gives you alot of feedback on the things that he see's you struggling with.

CAUTION: There seems to be a glitch between the free version of Word, Adobe, and the Canvas platform. Often, the formatting of your paper gets messed up, so those margins, indentations, and paragraph spacing you spent time on probably aren't going to look like what you intended to submit. I had to do a few workarounds to make it happen.

I highly recommend taking this course especially if you plan to join law enforcement. Professor Harris is knowledgeable, gives feedback, and overall the best Professor I have taken.

Loved the class

Processed Harris teach students effective law enforcement report writing skills by provided text material and writing exercises. Report writing for law enforcement courses can be challenging as it is vocational specific for law enforcement students. Report writing is structured to prepare Admin. Of Justice students to write concise reports.

Professor Harris is awesome. He tells stories of his past personal experiences, and it helps give real-life, real-world examples about what we are learning. The class is paced well, and every week there is clear and direct instruction on how to complete the work. There is no textbook, but long canvas pages. Awesome class! I would recommend!

Really solid instructor. Grading is fair, he communicates well, responds to emails, and genuinely cares about his students.

Professor Harris is, by far, the best instructor I have had since beginning school in Sacramento. I think the subjects he asked us to write about were the most thought-provoking I have experienced in a long time. I have come away from this class with an entirely expanded, more knowledgeable view of what it really means to be a police officer.

I took his online class for ADMJ 301, and it was not as bad as I expected. My main point would be to get ready to brush up on using correct punctuations. He is a fairly tough grader, in my opinion, when it comes to written assignments, but I took it as he actually wanted us to get better at writing. I would recommend 8.5/10, lol.

This professor was great and does not overload you with homework. He responds very quickly if you have questions or would like to dispute grades. His class is clearly outlined for what is required for good grades. He is very strict in the grading given the course. I would definitely attend his class again

Mr. Richard Harris is great, he is knowledgeable, present and well organized. The only drawback is that the syllabus is not textbook based which I was hoping for, seems to be all experience based, however if you ask for recommended readings, he provides them. He gives timely feedback, available online and very approachable.
