Great professor. Really knows his stuff. Makes what I thought was going to be a boring class into a class I really look forward to going to.

Definitely a great teacher. Very knowledgeable in his area, and keeps class interesting. Also very fair with scheduling, takes in to account that u actually have other classes.

The guy is very interesting helpful and knowledgable. He works hard to give examples that everyone will understand. Most of the class is easy but you have to study for his midterm and final.

Holtzman is an awesome professor. He is funny and really knows what he's talking about. The class isn't hard, as long as you take notes and pay attention you don't really need to read. The midterm and final are tough but if you study right you'll do fine. Definitley reccomend him.

Awesome Professor!! The class is so laid back that it is fun to show up and participate. He is very knowledgeable. No exams, only 2 papers in this class and you follow a race in the election. Nice guy and extremely helpful. I have never had a professor type up an entire page of feedback when handing back a paper for every student, incredible.

he is awesome!!!! he really knows his stuff and basically for papers if you write something half way decent then he will give you almost all the points. Midterm and final are decent, but you will have to study. Def. a class I look forward to!!! Def. TAKE HIM!!!

Holtzman is probably my favorite professor at Bryant. The class is extrement laid back and enjoyable. 3 exams, current events, and attendance are the grade. Do, the readings, go to class, and you wont be dissapointed. Take him, its a great elective!

This guy is the best out there. He is young and really funny, and he takes the class serious at the same time. Tests are basically given to you before class, and they are kind of easy. Attendence is counted on 20 random days, 10 percent of ur grade. YOU NEED TO TAKE THIS CLASS!!!

GREAT PROFESSOR! you write a few papers but they are easy...he is funny starts class with jokes..very nice and willing to help u in any way possible. The exams are not bad at all, and the readings you dont really have to do as long as you pay attention in class, specially the power point presentations...TAKE HIM HE IS THE BEST!!

He is a great professor. You really need to pay attention in his class to understand what's going on. You need to read the readings he gives us. If you never participated in class before, you really should in this class. We mostly debate about our feelings. We have 8 essay all together and 3 exams. Study and write well, and you will ace this class.

Holtzman is the man! Definitly the best professor at Bryant. Teaches real well, he wants you to learn. Teaches very clear, very smart, and will help you. Take him if you can, class is very interesting. Small papers to write and 3 exams that arent that hard.

The man. Really cool guy that knows his stuff. Very laid back and gets you to think. You read a couple books and mainly discuss them in class. Have to write a few argument papers but he only requires about 5 pages.

He is the prototype for a students' teacher. he makes class interesting and he is a guy who has a strong respect for his students. he re-graded my paper when i asked him about a comment he made on a paper and offered to come in on his day off to answer any questions i had about the final in person. just DO THE READINGS and pay attention in class.

Cant say enough about Holtzy. He is the man. Wicked nice guy; starts every class off with 4-5 jokes. Three tests all MC with no essays. A few 2 page papers that anyone can do.

Having taken a 200, 300, and 400 level class with Prof. Holtzman, I can say that he definitely ramps up the difficulty in higher level classes. His grading on exams for 464 is pretty merciless. You HAVE TO do the reading, if not, he will destroy you.

Best Professor at Bryant. I had him for an honors class and he was a little challenging, but not too bad. I learned -so- much in his class though. Class is awesome and his lectures are hilarious. And he truly cares about you as a student and a person. And he tells jokes. I know so much more about politics after his class. Definitely take him

Awesome professor. Very laid back but also really knows his stuff. Very helpful if you need to talk to him about the class, lots of opportunities to apply the course material outside the classroom. Papers are fairly easy because all he's really looking for is a well-developed idea. Had him twice and would take him again.

His class is quite easy, most of the grade comes from a few unit tests and papers. He's a really nice guy and starts classes off with jokes.

I'm in LOVE with Holtzman. He actually made Politics fun and interesting. He has out of class essays instead of tests and he is EXTREMELY helpful in making sure you get great grades. He tells jokes every class and truly loves his job. I'd absolutely recommend him to EVERYONE. Even if you don't like politics!

Great professor. Lectures are usually interesting and he starts off every class with jokes. BUT, the tests are extremely hard. Most questions come from the reading which is veryyyy boring. However, there are other assignments to help the grades. Prepare for discussions on blackboard, take home tests, and in class exams. But I would take him again.

Holtzman is awesome, starts class off with jokes, loves the material and makes it interesting. Class isn't easy, but if you go to class and look through the power points you will be able to do solid. Few written assignments, but go to his office hours and he edits them for you for easy A's. Go to his office hours for anything, he's a huge help!!

Professor Holtzman was a great professor for this class. He did a great job keeping the class interesting and even though class isn't mandatory i looked forward to that class every MWF. I recommend any class that he teaches

My favorite professor this semester. He starts every class with a couple jokes and the class is much easier than the same class that my friends take with another professor. Very nice man and I will definitely look to take more classes with him.

If you do not have Holtzman as a professor before you graduate, you have wasted your tuition. He is the BEST: so much fun in class, really knows what he's talking about, and wants you as a student to do well. Also, he is very deserving of his chili pepper and it should be in flames he is so hot!

Holtzman is the nicest guy, and an amazing teacher. did you know he was the only junior faculty member to win the teacher of the year award in Bryant's history? He is fun to look at during class, but class is also very informative. He makes me want to do well.

Holtzman's a good professor and really tries to help students succeed, from intro to 400 levels. I've had him for a lot of classes, and as long as you read and remember the material, you will do well. The test are predominately short answer/ids, which is why you need to do the reading.

Holtzman is easily my favorite professor at Bryant. He keeps class interesting with great discussions and jokes. There's 3 papers and 2 tests, all of which are pretty straight forward and easy if you know what you are talking about. I highly recommend him!

Hotlzman is awesome! One of the best at Bryant, he keeps class interesting and encourages class discussions. Always willing to help students and tries to develop relationships with everyone which makes him that much better. He always tells jokes too, tries to keep the mood up regardless of what we're doing.

Best GFCL teacher by far. Starts class with a few jokes, and makes you laugh throughout. Class is really easy and as long as you do the assignments you should get an A. Does not give daily homework assignments. He makes you want to go to class and participate in the discussion.. No testsquiz, midterm or final. Awesome & would take again and again

Dr. Holtzman was my favorite professor in my first semester at Bryant. On all accounts, he is one of the best professor on campus. The class was great: no tests, no textbook, homework was straightforward, papers assigned well in advance. Lectures were very interesting and engaging. I would absolutely recommend everyone take this class!

Professor Holtzman is an awesome teacher for GFCL. Class is mostly discussion based with associated posts on Blackboard. There are three online quizzes throughout the semester along with a few writing assignments such as co-curricular reflections, time management reflection, and a self assessment and reflection. All writing is graded very easily

Best GFCL professor at Bryant. Always tells jokes to start each class. Requires you attend first year gateways and write reflection on them. A few writing assignments are graded easily and thats it. Easy A and overall enjoyable.

Had a great experience with him as my GFCL professor. I would definitely recommend anyone to take him! You can tell he likes his job, he enjoys teaching, is very interactive with students, and is very caring. His assignments are not difficult, and participation does matter. Overall, one of the best professors at Bryant.

Best professor I've had so far at Bryant. I had him for GFCL, the class was really easy as long as you completed all of the assignments to the best of your ability and on time. He's wicked funny and cares a lot about student success.

TAKE HOLTZMAN. If you're a student at Bryant and don't take Professor Holtzman, you're missing out big time. I had GFCL with him and he was honestly my favorite professor of all time and the class itself was so unique. Participation matters, and there's a lot of assignments, but they are all easy as long as you finish them on time. TAKE HIM!!

Hotlzman is an awesome professor... Very caring. All exams are take home and pretty easy. Papers are assigned and kind of long. If you cut out a solid chunk of time (4-5 hours) you should be all set on those. There are only like 3-4 papers a semester so you should be all good. Plenty of time to complete. Awesome professor, take him for sure.

Gives a fair amount of homework to do but for the most part it is only readings. Not hard to pass but if you put some work into this class you will learn a lot of things that are actually relevant and worth learning. Favorite class this semester and would take any class with him again.

Holtzman is hands down my favorite professor so far. I am taking POLS256 with him- not hard, but you are expected to do your work. There is a reading for every class, but if you keep up you'll be fine. There are 3 exams and 3 papers, he gives you multiple weeks to complete them outside of class. HIGHLY recommend, he is very funny and caring!!

Very good professor. Enjoys discussions and very nice, open man. Makes a useless class fun and tries his best so you can get something out of the class. Not much content and much of it is busy work to try to emphasize on the Gateway Learning Outcomes, but he really tries to make the class worthwhile.

This professor is the best Bryant professor I have ever had. I have taken him for one 300 and two 400 level classes. He is not difficult to work with ever, he is there for his students and he is very nice to everyone even if you are not doing well. Take him for anything and you will have a good experience.

Holtzman is AWESOME! I took this during an election year and he did a great job staying unbiased. The discussion days are cool and you get to interact with everyone in the class. He loves feedback from his students also and he will do his best to listen. The homework is easy, participation is huge, and there's a final paper.

Super awesome guy, gives super easy 5 question "quizzes" twice a week that are easy 100s if you even remotely try. 10 discussions a semester which are just 2 or 3 300 word responses and then a class discussion, which are easy participation boosters, basically show you care even 75% and its a guaranteed A

Very lecture heavy. Assignments are very consistent, you'll never be caught off guard by anything. If you need a break, let him know- communication is key. If you don't like his class in the first few weeks, drop it cause it won't change.

2nd time taking Holtzman. Great guy and has you take mini quizzes for homework instead of in class exams. I was sick for a large portion of the semester and still passed because of how he puts videos, readings, and lectures all on canvas. Great professor.

Proffesor Holtzman is an excellent professor. He really cares about his students and wants them all to succeed. You can achieve your desired grade by attendance and making sure your assignments follow the rubric. Readings aren't checked but encouraged. Communication is key with Professor Holtzman.

Professor Holtzman makes even dry topics engaging. Manageable workload with easy graded assignments. I found Unstuck AI and the class discussion board super helpful for understanding concepts. Definitely recommend this class if you want an interesting and stress-free elective.

Best professor I've ever had and the first where I truly feel like he cares about his students/wants them to succeed. Not only do I respect him as a person, but he is a brilliant professor. As a junior, Holtzman is still the BEST professor I have had at Bryant to this day. This class was so informative and entertaining -- especially during such a high-tension political time. He is very knowledgeable and his lectures are amazing! Such a wonderful teacher and person, take him!!!
