Class is pretty much self paced. You can take all the tests twice. 50 percent of grade is an essay. Responds quickly to questions but is very curt with responses. In this class your grade depends on your ability to write an essay becasue you will get 100% on the tests.
Great man. Knows what he is teaching. He is very educated, and explains things very clearly. He may over explain them, but in the end it is helpful. You have to think in his class on the essay paper, but if you put some thought into it, he recognizes that and your grade reflects that. Hes a good man. Take is class, it wont be a waste of money.
His class seemed hard at the beginning. Later in the semester gotton very easy. He know his material.
Dr. Howe was a great instructor. It was important for him to see his students succeed. He would watch you work on assignments & assist you after you completed the work. He was great! I highly recommend him.
great professor
his class is very easy and he gives you everything to get ready for the test take his class is easy!!!!!!!!!!!
He's one of the best teachers I've had all throughout college!!! He's smart, witty and entertaining. If you dedicate time to his class you'll love it.
Very friendly and helpful, as long as you take good notes you dont even really need the book to get A's. At first it seems like it might be hard to understand his speach, but by the end of the first class you dont even notice it.
He's a great instructor! He gives you all the tools to get an A. As long as you go to class, it will be easy to pass.
Dr. Howe was a pretty good teacher. Lectures were short and easy to understand. He provided plenty of material to explain what he taught. Quizzes based directly from lectures (EASY!) One essay determines 50% of your grade, and he gives ALL semester for you to write it, have him review it, and fix it. I recommend him as a teacher for this course.
Great Prof. Easy Grade extremely helpful and always is their for students who need help!!!!!!!!!!
Great teacher. He is very helpful and wants to see us succeed.
The paper is most hard work....
Took online, easy A. two chances to take quizzes, which are easy. Paper is the hardest part, and is not that hard. He even lets you know what to fix to get better grade. Reccomend for this class.
This class is extremely easy. Half of the grade is the paper, but if you follow the instructions you shouldn't have a problem. The quizzes are extremely easy, and you can take them twice. Dr. Howe gave his home phone number the first class. It is comforting to know that he cares enough to do that for an online class. Highly recommend him!!!
Great summer class, the paper is worth half your grade however, he gives clear instructions on what he wants for your paper. If you follow his guidelines you will do well. Tests are not hard since you get to do them twice. I would totally recommend this teacher, he is really nice to work with.
Easy. Gives you several tries on all your work. I had a hard time with the requested paper, I couldn't really understand what he wanted. In all, I recommend him if you like extremely easy classes.
I took Phil 102 online at CSN. If you want an easy A, this is your guy. His 500pt tests are 5 questions long, and are all true and false questions. Best class to take with a full schedule. I didnt open my book once. Had a total of 2 papers, 7 quizzes, and an EASY A+. I think the work i did on this class was a total of about 8hrs the entire semester
This class requires time and effort but the teacher makes the class very easy. Dr. Howe is extremely helpful and he wants students to ask for help. He is the best teacher i have had at csn. I would highly recommend him for any philosophy class! He makes the subject fun and interesting. As long as you go to class you will do great!
Took his online class. 1-he never answers emails, and if he does, never clarifys what he wants, as if he did not understand the questions that were asked. Doesn't care about any problems students face, makes million mistakes in writing and overall. I did not get what I expected from the beggining, didn't enjoy the class at all.
This class was the easiest class i have ever taken. The paper is the hardest part but he gives you a rough draft date then a final date. i would def recommend taking this class
EASY! Quizzes on each of the stories (which you can find on sparknotes) which he goes over beforehand. Pay attention to the quotes he gives, they show up as ex credit & u need those for the midterm and final. If you need this class take him!
Professor helpful and expectations clearly laid out. just do what he requests and you will get a B or better!
There are a couple quizzes which you get to take twice. The essay is pretty easy and you should do well as long as you do it. Howe can be a little snappy when answering emails and responding to students.
The easiest class I've taken. A great summer class. 4 test (which can be taken twice) and 1 paper! Easiest 'A' ever! And BTW, I only opened the book once and if I would have read his notes first, I wouldn't have needed to.
I have taken many classes online but I have never found a professor that has been so unhelpful. He does not read eamils sent to him. And he is unbending to family emergencies. I will never take this professor again, even though I now have to retake the class.
amazing teacher his class is always an easy A you dont even have to pay attention just show up and do short quizzes easy class for sure i took him for 101 and 102 just amazing
Do not buy a book!!His notes-all you need for the tests. Moreover, they are easy because you take them twice and get an A regardless. The paper was kind of hard.I spent just a few hours during the whole semester on this class(it was online summer class-good with full schedule).
I actually like his lectures, but my problem is the lack of clarity with the essays. It is 50% of your grade, you think you did your best and end up with a C on the essays because he is not crystal clear in what he wants to see on the essays. I like the class, though.
Easy, dont even buy the book. Have 6 quizs throughout the year, no tests, quizs answers you can find on google. Had to write a 5 page paper. Class was a breeze
All in all, good professor.. really nice guy but dang, i'd advise taking his class around 10 pm so you know you'll get a good nights rest. Really, it's hard to stay awake during his lectures. Take this if you really are interested in the subject because if not, you will be bored out of your mind.
On-line class. The guy will not email you back for anything!! I have submitted my paper 9 times! He still wont grade it and get it back to me. What the hell!! There are 2 weeks left in the semester and I won't have a chance to redo my paper.
Howe said i abused vagueness. This coming from the most vague professor I have ever had. I too had problems with him getting my paper and had to submit it about 7 times, him telling me not to email it to him it had to go into the post or grade will not get recorded. Funny Angel still has not recorded a grade for it.
Took online course easy A One term paper and one page essay 5 quizzes which you can take 3 times. Instructor is very harsh and rude when grading makes you feel stupid and he is very disorganized as well as helpless with no communication with his students.
Took online course. Professor allows you to take quizzes twice and uses best score; however, easy part because he gives you 60 minutes for each quiz with same questions and answers. Essays aren't my thing; however, he was clear in instructions what he wanted and did not want so it was simple. No fuss, self-maintenance syllabus. Take this class!
He's is an easy going person but he is NOT clear on instructions and his lectures are long, confusing, and boring. His syllabus is not what the class is nor follows schedule or has assignments throughout the year. Overall I'd say avoid his class if you can.
The class and workload are ridiculously easy; however the professor is arrogant and gets a kick out of belittling his students and wants to make sure you are aware of what an intellectual he is. Overall, easy A - you just had to deal with his arrogance which can get really annoying. Took this class online.
Easy A. The professor is clear about what he wants and how he wants it, almost verbatim, and you get two chances at almost all the assignments.
Took his class online, the website is not very organized. He shrunk the due date on our final paper by 6 weeks. Doesn't seem pleasant at all as his correspondence via email is in ALL CAPS. I must say the course was easy but he seems so abrasive.
I took his hybrid class. Easy A. Boring lectures. Test/quiz every other week. Two essays. You don't need to buy the book. Handouts are online. Homework is turned in online.
4 week summer online. All work given upfront. finished in two weeks. No book, all short resadings online. Teacher very helpful, reviewed my final paper before I submitted it for suggestions. Very helpful. Highly suggest this dreaded class with this teacher online.
I gotta say, he was pretty easy in my opinion. I do not get how people can get bored of what he is talking about unless they haven't read the past reading's he gives.Follow the syllabus, read the readings spark notes if you want to be cheap and he is a little snappy if someone interrupts, just raise your hand if you had a question, he makes it easy
Taking his online class right now (16 weeks) very easy (and no need to buy the textbook) professor 6 assignments total all work given upfront get to redo 5 of the assignments. would recommend taking him for this dreaded subject! Although it was very easy i enjoyed all the content very interesting! :)
I took this professor for Phil of Science and Religion online. 3 books to read. 200 pages (written in 1930's), 500+ pages, and 300 pages. 4 tests online true false and you can take them two times..very easy . 2 papers (mid and final). No interaction with the teacher though. No notes, no posts, no discussion. A little dissapointing but easy.
Very easy class. You may have to read a lot of books, but they're short stories.I personally didn't do most of the required reading and still passed just by listening to his lectures and taking good notes. His lectures is where the quiz questions mostly come from.I enjoyed the books he chose, very interesting.Easy quizzes every week, loved his lectures.
Great online class. He is available via phone for questions & guidance. Tests designed to HELP you learn (novel idea!). The paper is intense, but the effort is worth it. Highly recommend!!!
Professor Howe gives you the work in advance so you can work at your own pace. It was a bit difficult - mainly the papers - but over all not so bad. He is available when you need him and also reviews your papers pre-submission; that is a major help!! Wonderful class; definitely recommend him if you need Phil 102!
Four week summer course. Ridiculously easy. A few quizes and two short papers. If you're looking for an easy required course, this is it. If you're looking to learn anything substantial try another professor. I received an A but learned absolutely nothing. Essentially finished the course in less that one week. Instructor is very responsive.
Took this class for summer four week course. Hes an easy going guy. A few quizes which you can take two times. Two essay papers. Any questions hes willing to help you out. Take this class, specially if you dread the Phil subject
I found this class easy. I didn't expect to get an A. Lots of reading. I honestly didn't read any of the books. I attended every class and listened to his lectures and took good notes. His weekly quizzes come straight from his lectures. Two papers. He gives you a few chances to hand in the paper until you get a A. Super nice!
I took his class online, & it is easy. Four quizzes, one 5 page paper, and one 2 page paper. I only used his notes to study for the tests, and I did really well! The book is not required, at least not when I took the class. He is very helpful in understanding the paper requirements, & I would recommend him for others who need the Phil class.
If you want an easy A and not have to learn anything this is the class for you. 4 quizes and 1 paper. Don't need to buy the book because he gives you notes. Does not have due dates on anything except the paper. Also I took this class online.
he is a great teacher if you do not understand something he will give you his direct number to try to help you.
He takes his job WAY to seriously and his final and midterms are essays, but the directions are not clear. I took this class online because of my schedule, but I would have rather went two days a week then take this class. He was awful.
Took his online class. It is easy if you do the reading and are good at studying his notes for the two papers that are required for the Midterm and Final. It is impossible not to get a good grade for this class if you do the work. All quizzes are open until the end of the semester - work at your own pace!
Great Teacher! Wants you to really learn not just meet strict deadlines. Always available to explain things.Work at your own pace online!
Excellent professor. Very clear on the assignments. No textbook. Provides all the material. One 1 page essay. One 5 page essay on Plato's Apology. 5 short quizzes. Overall: Excellent professor
So i took Howe like 3 semesters ago but decided to write a review because im taking him again this 2012 fall. Anyways let me just say Howe is THEE DOPEST DRESSED PROFESSOR @ CSN!CLASSY OLE PROFESSOR!He's old school:lectures & holds discussions,no homework, lil pop quizzes,do an essay for finals.Real cool, laidback, interesting, thought provoking class!
5 quizzes and you get to take them twice. His instructions for the two papers are not very clear. I asked him for help and he still did not seem to explain it very well. I still managed a B in the class.
Excellent professor.Provides all the material. One 1 page essay. One difficult 5 page essay on Plato's Apology. So old school, dresses daper. only drawback is he sometimes gets telling stories and its gets intertwined and confusing. no textbook needed. kind professor that wants you to succeed
1 paper worth 50% of your grade, but he gives notes on how to do it correctly then he lets you redo it if you want after he gives feedback. Four other quizzes and a 1 page paper that he also gives notes on. All of his notes are extremely clear and used for all of the quizzes. He gives extra credit too. Got a 113% in the class LOVED IT
Overall fair professor and cares about his students. Provides notes as part of your studies. I actually found this class a bit challenging, but I got tutor that was provided by CSN and also went to the professor he was more than willing to help me.
Took the class online. Five page essay that is 50% of your grade. One page quiz essay. Four MC quizzes. Seven EC questions. You get a second chance on everything except the one page quiz essay. You MUST be an excellent writer to succeed in this class. He is VERY picky with essay grading - "my way or the highway" type attitude. Managed to get an A.
Super easy class. No book required, he gives you required handouts. Work at your own pace. 1 paper on Plato Apology, and one three ethics paper. 8 quizzes. ec avaliable. I wish all classes had this setup!
Easy until the one page essay quiz. Ridiculous on what he wants for that essay. But there is extra credit if you notice it. Not very well explained and not similar to any other philosophy class. Way too serious for a beginning class.
One of my favorite courses that I've taken. The material is great to learn and will apply to your life forever. I liked how there was no required textbook and all text were online. If you really wanted to you could finish this course in 1 day. You can take quizzes twice and it's fairly easy. The only difficult thing about the class is the 2 papers.
Highly recommended for online course. I wish all my classes were like this. This was the easiest course I have ever taken. There are 10 or so quizzes, which are open all semester to finish, and two essays, which are due on their due dates. No book is required.
8 quizzes, 2 chances. No book. 1 essay quiz explaining a quote - I bombed that but tons of extra credit made that a 100%. 5 page paper on Plato's Apology - easy peasy if you studied it in world lit. Work at your own pace - I was done with this 4 week summer class in 2 weeks!
I took Dr. Howe's PHIL 102 class in June and finished the 4 week course in 4 days (and made an A). Very easy course (no book required), and Dr. Howe responds to emails and returns grades VERY promptly. I recommend this professor.
I took Dr. Howe's course in Jun.,and I highly recommend him. The course material is exceptionally easy, and he responds to emails and returns grades VERY promptly.
Tests almost every week. 2 papers, 1 counts half of your grade. I did not like this class because I expected more open thinking but if you are a Christian he demeans that and if you are not a liberal he demeans that. I felt he was too opinionated. I just learned the material and got an A but did not like it.
Multiple books, but the tests are short and easy if you've done the reading - 4 tests, 2 essays (midterm & final). Directions on the essays are not always clear. Lots of little spelling errors that can be distracting, but overall a good professor.
The course was easy. However, he says to always contact him and he is there to help you. But, when I did his e-mails were rude and condescending. When I asked for help he just tried to make you feel dumb. Pretty easy course overall, just don't expect a kind instructor.
Prof. Howe = my kind of prof! He does not bug you with a bunch of assignments what require you to constantly check your computer. I usually hate online classes but his was great, everything except a draft of the paper was due at the end of the semester. Got an A and only did work for it in about 4 days total! Not very clear, helpful if needed.
Professor Howe is a midwestern man with a genuine disposition. At the beginning, I was worried I wouldn't be able to stay on track because his voice is rather soothing and hard to understand. But he is very available to anyone for help, gives many chances to correct or make up work. He is naturally charismatic. One paper. Show up for quizzes.
Professor Howe is a great professor. He does require a five page paper on Socrates trial. If you fail it the first time, he lets you try it again. He gives you a retake of all quizzes except the written quiz.
Noted as a very dedicated man. Though, he tends to ramble off on a tangent about his friends from God knows where about who the heck knows what. Easy tests if you keep good notes, though hard essay if you aren't familiar with a Google Search. Bring a pillow though, his rambling goes on forever.
This professor is okay I guess. When I email asking him for help, he responds back very rudely. His excuse is "I have too many students." Then don't become a teacher. Other than that, he's okay. The class is easy. No textbook required. Quizzes almost every week and most of them are open note. You can redo all quizzes and essays except one.
Easy A. 10 quizzes and 2 exams. 2 chances at each, takes the higher grade. 6 extra credit opps. Take him online.
EASIEST CLASS EVER! No textbook use at all, he gives you 100% of the information you need. 10 very short quizzes with two tries each. 2 exams. Work at your own pace, everything is due at the end of the semester. 6 extra credit opporunities. Almost impossible to not get an A.
This class was laid out plain and simple. I learned a lot, and I would not have taken this class with any other professor. Great class, he answers questions in a timely manner, and I have no negative remarks!!
Loved this class and professor
Awesome professor. Responds to email promptly and provides clarification if needed. I would highly recommend this professor!
( test 1 final 1 midterm easy class just take the quizzes and you're done. tests are a little hard, but he leaves you alone and you can work at your own pace. hes there when you need help
I don't know what people are talking about when they say this is an "easy A" class.. I took it online. You had 10 quizzes and 2 exams (rather confusing). You did get 2 chances at each & took the higher grade. Plus, I didn't see any "extra credit" people speak of... and i wasted money on the books. Just look online _
EASY class! Do the quizzes, MidtermFinal and extra credit and you will be good to go. It is mainly a self paced class but I recommend doing quizzes early instead of end of the semester, so its not so much work all at once. Instructor provides all material needed online. Great instructor course
Online. All noteslecture posted from day 1. Quizzes for each module, and get 2 chances, he takes the higher grade. These quizzes are open until the last day of class. Quizzes pretty easy just have your notes open. One assignment which you have to watch a movie that he assigns & write a paper on it. Not tough. Take him! No textbook!
Straight to the Point Professor. Provides lots of notes for the quizzes and gives you extra time on the due dates. ten quizzes . 1 midterm and 1 Final. also provides extra credit throughout the semester. Notes provided no need for textbook . Great teacher
It's the material that can be confusing, not the professor. He is clear and to-the-point, as is his grading criteria and the way the class is laid out. He will help you. He may not be the most sensitive with his words, but the fact that he makes it fairly easy for us to pass with a high grade indicates that he is essentially a nice professor.
Great online class to take that doesn't take up too much time! Super easy! and you don't need a book. 9 quizzes with 10 questions each multiple choice. Mid Term and Final are both 25 questions multiple choice. Each Test and quiz can be taken twice and he takes the highest score for the grade book. Finished each weeks work in 1 day!
An easy A if ever there was an easy A.
I took a 4-week class, but the workload wasn't bad. 9 quizzes, and the final only covers material from the midterm to the last quiz. Gives two tries on the quizzes (60 minutes each, the longest was 25 questions) and two on the tests (90 minutes, 25 questions). Gives 50 free points and 4 extra credit questions worth 5 points. Uses his lecture notes.
Professor Howe is very clear about what is expected. 10 quizzes and a midterm and final. He gives the material that needs to be read and you are quizzed every week. Offers extra credit as well. It is impossible for you to fail.
I was not too fond of this class or professor simply because he has created his own "philosophy", asks you to study it, and take quizzes on it. He says not to use common sense and to use his self created handouts instead. This didn't make much sense to me, but I expect to pass with an A, because of the time I took to try and understand his Phil.
best phil teacher, took 4 weeks online class, 9 quizzes each worth 50 points and midterm, final each worth 250 point. 2 extra credit each worth 5 points. no textbook.
Took this as a 4 week class over summer & it was a great choice. 9 quizzes (10 questions each) and 2 tests (25 questions, 2 tries each) plus 50 bonus points and 4 extra credit opportunities. No textbook needed & all quiz/test answers are in the notes or easy to identify by reading the notes. Highly recommended for a quick, fairly easy class!
No textbook required, he uploads his notes that you are graded from. There is a 10 question quiz following each "chapter" of his notes. His "chapters are 1-4 pages long. The quizzes are open book and two tries. Two tests, one midterm and one final. Extra credit is offered regularly. This was a perfect online class for a mandatory class.
No Textbook required, which save you a lot of money. Quizzes, Midterm and Final. Few Extra Credit opportunities. Simple, but still learn about critical thinking. Definitely recommend!!
Really recommend this professor. Easy A! Interesting materials and gives extra credit. Enjoyed his online class a lot :D
GREAT GREAT professor! Gives A LOT of extra credit opportunities. This class is one of my easiest class I've had in CSN. I recommenced this professor to anyone and especially anyone who wants an easy A. I learned a lot in this class.
He was a great teacher for this class! There are just a few quizzes that require you to read his handouts which are great because he wrote them. There's a midterm and a final which are like the quizzes and easy extra credit. He is very nice and gave extra credit to the whole class towards the end of the semester. No textbook at all!
Professor Howe's class was awesome! You do not need a textbook as he provides all of the material you'll need for the quizzes. This class is easy but informative. I've learned a lot in this class. I definitely recommend you take this class with Dr H
The quizzes were all true/false so it depends on the student if they think that's really difficult or not. You have to read all of the books required but they're easy reads and simple to skim over if you need to review during the tests. The midterm and finals were both papers and they weren't strict in format. Easy to get in touch with.
I've taken Dr. H online and in person and I would recommend his online classes instead because his in class lectures are extremely long and boring. I really enjoyed his online class because it was straight to the point with the notes he provides. There is no textbook. He gives plenty of extra credit just in case you do struggle in his course.
Professor Howe's was easy! You do not need a textbook. This class is easy. I definitely recommend you take this class if you want an easy A.
This is the EASIEST class I have ever taken. It consists of 9 quizzes (10-25 questions), a midterm and final (25 questions each), and 5 extra credit opportunities. The questions are really easy. The notes and study guides he provides are super clear and straight forward, and the answers are also online. NO TEXTBOOK. This is a perfect GPA booster.
Most of the weeks are just reading but I don't read lol. There's maybe 3 quizzes that we took within 3 months. Gives extra credit all the time. Not a lot of assignments. Super super easy!
This class is very easy. Lots of extra credit opportunities. He's a great prof.
This class was a piece of cake. 9 quizzes (10-25 questions), a midterm and final (25 questions ea.) & 5 extra credit opportunities. The questions are really easy and everything is online. You can finish this class in 1 week but he doesn't open the assignments to work ahead of schedule. NO TEXTBOOK required. This is an EASY A CLASS.
Amazing Prof. Clear grading, accessible by email at anytime. Provides good feedback. 5 Opportunities to receive extra credit.
Great Prof. Accessible anytime, provides good feedback. No textbook needed. Do the work and you will pass. 5 Opportunities for extra credit. Must take, you will not regret!
I just completed a 4 week session with Professor Howe and I was impressed. Exceptional professor with a clear syllabus and course work outline. There is no homework. 9 Quizzes, Midterm, Final, and you are done! He also unlocks almost all of the course material allowing you to work ahead. Read the modules, take good notes, and you will get an A!
Great professor who always responded quickly when I needed help and is very understanding.
EASIEST CLASS I'VE EVER TAKEN. Seriously, his material is so straight forward with tons of extra credit opportunities. I passed with more than 100%. Also, the answers to all of his quizzes (midterm & final also) are online.
This class was beyond easy! His lectures are in the modules. There are many quizzes but the deadlines are manageable! He answers you right away and his extra credit is very easy! Fantastic Class for online!!
Great professor! Before you turn in your midterm/final, he lets you email him a draft and gives immediate feedback. DO THIS! A few books to read but they are fairly easy to understand. Only four quizzes of 10 questions so be careful. Everything is available at the beginning of sem, but don't wait until the last second! Don't stress unnecessarily.
Dr. Howe is the bomb dot com. He gives great notes, so use them because the information he gives will be on the mid-term and/or final. He's more than fair and doesn't try to trick you with useless information. AWESOME Instructor. I want to take him for Phil 102 online also!
Professor Howe is a solid choice for PHIL 102. There is no required textbook; instead he uploads his own written material for students to read and test on. There are no papers or writing assignments, only the occasional exam, a midterm, final, and extra cred. If you have the chance to take him, jump on it! He's a great professor with a great class.
Grades based on only quizzes and test. PHIL 101 you can take the quizzes twice, which sometimes he shows the answers after and sometimes he doesn't. PHIL 102, you can only take the quizzes once. Pointless to do extra credit, I never got credit for them. Fairly easy classes if you do the readings.
Take this class if your degree needs it!! Easy A. You can work ahead on all your assignments. You dont need a textbook, he will have all his readings on the modules.
No Book needed. All his lectures are written out & includes practice questions for the tests & exams. If you read the assignments & do the practice quizzes, you will pass. He lets you work at your own pace, all assignments are open, first half due by midterm, second half due by the final exam. He answers questions quickly and allows phone calls.
I honestly recommend this course to anyone who needs to balance their schedule. Half of the assignments are due at midterm and the other at the end so you have the freedom to complete them when you can. There's no papers, or discussions, just module quizzes that can be completed by reading the modules. He also offers extra credit periodically.
Dr. H was beyond amazing, he has a deadline for all quizzes due at once so you are able to work ahead if need be and manage your own workload. He also requires no textbook and has all the info you need in the modules. I found his class super inspirational - I really took his words in! Extra credit is available as well. Thank you Dr. H!
This class is not easy because you have to think outside the box, but you can pass if you really try your best and put in the work. The reason I would definitely take professor howe again because how caring & humble he is. He takes the time to explain everything to you. Unlike other professors that say "Did you read the book?" when you ask for help
There is no textbook and all of the reading is broken up into separate modules. The quizzes follow the modules. Great Class with an easy to digest format. I would take him again if I needed any other philosophy classes.
He is an amazing and easy professor. I took his 6 week summer session and finished the entire course within the first week. There were 9 quizzes, a midterm exam, and a final exam. They were all super easy. He also give a lot of extra credit.
This is, by far, the EASIEST class I have ever taken! There are 9 quizzes, 1 midterm, and 1 final during his 6 week summer course, along with lots of extra credit opportunities. There's no book because he provides all the lectures for you, and they are all interesting! If you need to take PHIL 102, take Professor Howe!
I took this class online. You don't need a book. He gives you all the info needed in the modules. Gives lost of extra credit opportunities.
Easiest A ever 5 quizzes and a midterm, all are which the easiest things to do . You could honestly do his entire class in a Day and receive an A
Class consisted of four true/false quizzes and you have all semester to do them. He offers EC too. There's also a midterm and final. The problems are with him using Canvas. He deletes grades, doesn't post things until they're close to being due, and takes at least a week to reply to emails. He's easy, but very unorganized and lacking tech skills.
Best class-- easy A. Does not use book, uses his own lectures which are very interesting. Few test/exams, can work at your own pace. Offers lot's of extra credit. He even allows you to call him at home. Super nice and helpful. Would def take another class by Prof. Howe again.
One of the best professors I have ever had. Opens up all assignments at the beginning of the semester and closes them until the end. His work is straightforward. You read the lecture, study, take the quizzes and bam you are good. Super inspirational and has random extra credit questions.
This class gave us total freedom. He set all due dates for the end of the semester which allowed us to work completely at our pace. Tests were simple, but the modules which we used to learn had huge fonts and difficult to read formatting but was still a great class.
Took this class online. He was honestly super helpful in the sense that he leaves everything opened for you until the end of the semester so youre able to work at your own pace. His tests werent hard and everything can be found in his modules. He also does have his availability open in case you dont understand something you can reach out.
EASIEST class I've taken. All you have to do is 9 quizzes, the final and midterm exam and all of it is open all semester. He has notes to help aid you through the quizzes and gives extra credit opportunities every week. He also added 50 points to the final as a "gift". He doesn't give any lectures so it is a study yourself type of class.
Dr. Howe is amazing! I dislike philosophy, but he outlined the lessons in such a simple way. He really does want you to pass and gives you a lot of EC opportunities. You are graded from your quizzes and exams. The midterm and final exams are just questions from the quizzes. No textbook needed! Saved me some money.
Hes retired now but he was a great professor. Easy class. Too bad I cant take more classes with him.
