Coe makes everything straightforward. He lets you know up front what is going to be on each test and what you need to focus on. If you pay attention and listen during his lectures you'll be fine. He uses funnyunderstandable examples to explain the material. The book isn't mandatory unless you want to do the homework which is just extra credit.

I've had him for intro to econ and micro. Both times he posts all notes and practice tests online. All exams are very similar to practice tests and when I say similar I mean almost word for word. Attendance is hardly necessary if you study the practices well in advance. Also both of those classes had a 15 point grading scale

He goes a little off topic sometimes but it makes class go by fast. I wouldn't buy the textbook, its never used and you don't need it to study for tests. And the homework is optional

J. Coe is funny. But that's about it. He tries to make his lectures funny and exciting but he's really very boring. However, his D is like a 45. So the ability to pass this class is there, it's just difficult because of his teaching style which is mumbling directly from the notes on Blackboard. You don't need the textbook or the homework code.

He doesn't really care if you attend class or not. If you read the notes he gives you online and attend his lectures, its an easy class. Also, all of his tests are basically similar to the older test versions he'll put online. Study those and understand each question and you'll easily get an A. You don't need the text. Easy and great teacher

Be careful. His lectures are okay, and he is funny. But, he doesn't really prepare you for the tests. Comments on her say that his practice tests are the same as the real ones, but don't be fooled; they aren't the exact same. He will pull new questions onto the test, even 10. No idea why people think this man can teach. He's completely monotone and when he speaks doesn't project his voice so no one past the first few rows can hear him.
