very good teacher. nice. knows what talking about.
One of my favorite teachers. He was very approachable and nice. He knew what he was talking about when it came to course material. Highly recommend him as a teacher.
took both the world civs and they were cake...
I had him for college and career sucess, hes a great teacher, the class is an easy A if your looking for an elective.
One of the best teachers at CFCC. Flexible and extremely helpful.
One of the best teachers at CFCC. Possesses all the qualities needed to be a great professor.
I had him for SLS and Leadership development. He is by far one of the best professors at CFCC. Very nice and helps you out a lot with the work. The work and his tests are very easy
Excellent class, excellent teacher. Fun, inspiring, and a really nice guy. Take this class to come away with great life lessons and positive mentor.
GREAT GUY AND A GREAT TEACHER> DEFINATLEY TAKE THIS CLASS!
Mr Kirk is the coolest
He is the best. Clear and easy to understand assignments. Very reasonable. Take him.
I took his online class, so I don't know about his lectures. His homework for us consists of about 20 definitions per chapter that he RECOMMENDS you define, cause they show up on the test. His tests are generally easy, and he grades fairly. So if you're looking for a fly by online course, this is it.
Great Teacher! Very Nice/Friendly. Class was not too difficult. Interesting Discussions, etc.
Wow, what a sweet guy! Very nice teacher that cares about his students. I'm so glad I took this class. I would advise everyone to take one of his classes.
His class was very easy! He is a good teacher and cares about his students. He grades fair and his test are super easy. I barely stuied for them!~!
Wonderful teacher. You can't find a much better professor at CFCC than Mr. Kirk.
Mr. Kirk's Humanities online class is very easy and straight to the point. Just look over his study guides because that is where he gets his questions for the tests. Easy A+++ class. If you get anything less than an A then you aren't too bright.
Took the online section. Great course, great instructor. Lots of reading so be prepared. Long chapters, take frequent breaks. Tests were good, would have liked to have essay questions though. Website research and resume assignments were fun and interesting!
i took it online. EASY. it was a great class and ooohhh sooo easy. mr. kirk is great. take him you, you wont regret it.
Kirk is a good online teacher. However his tests are very difficult and they are strictly timed for example if there are 40 questions you have only 50 minutes to complete the test. Don't bother trying cheat read the book! Thank goodness I was taking humanities at the same time! He does drop the lowest test grade! Overall excellent class! Recommend!

This was probably the worst classes I could have taken.Kirk is not as nice as everyone thinks and does not like teaching this class. His hubris is like nails on a chalk board.I will add my .02.He does think he is God's gift to women.Pick another honors class or take the female Leadership teacher instead.Mr. Schuler is a better honors director.
Do not take his classes. Class is not difficult but does not prefer male students. Females get further and more attention. Took two classes with this person and have witnessed it myself.
He's a great prof! Highly recommend - just attend and take note of the terms on the board. He gives you the exact terms you need to know for the test. Take Mr. Kirk!
Took online course. Thought it would be easy, turned out to be my most difficult because of the amt of info. GREAT teacher. My strategy was to read the chaptrs, study the guides (long) and when testing go through answer what I knew I knew and then go back through and punt, then go back through and double check. Will take again b prepared to work
Took him for HUM and WOH and HUM was very easy...WOH on the other hand was a completely different class. The test were very difficult.STUDY STUDY STUDY. You get study terms but no study guide. The terms are very vague. Nice guy but do not take the online class. do yourself a favor and drive to class...
I liked his class. When ever i emailed him, he wrote me back quick. Didnt really seem like he was there much interacting with the students but everything is pretty clear. Great class
Prof. Kirk is a great teacher! Just listen in class and take notes and you will ace his exams! I haven't even read the book, all I do is study the key terms at the end of each chapter and I have all A's! Only gives a few essays and they are all reflective and I've got 100's on all three. He is funny and kind and will help you with anything you need
He is a really great guy, is very helpful.. course is pretty easy, just a lot of reading, but overall he is a great professor to take.
Fantastic professor! The best at CFCC.
Taken on-line and classroom classes with this teacher. I've never seen he had a desire to or help students. There are more commiitted teachers in that department.
This professor is a waste of time and space. He seems to be teaching because he can't do anything else. Easy class but you will learn nothing at all. He sends students to a lot of religious activities because he has no idea what he is doing.
Taking this class, you should know that it is so boring you'd probably feel more excitement watching the wall. Kirk is so dry as a teacher that it makes you want to scream, plus he's bad.WHY DOES THIS MAN ALWAYS SMELL LIKE MOLD AND MILDEW??? I had to move my seat because of the smell. It bothered my asthma. I can't recommend this class or professor.
You could do worse than getting Mr.Kirk as a teacher, but you definitely do much better. I never learned a single thing. He's not a dictator as a teacher, he's an inept man trying to do something he's not good at. If you have an average IQ and can show up, you will get an A.Forget learning.Waste of money & I was looking forward to class.
The semester is over half way done. I was looking forward to class but Instructor Kirk ruined it. Reads from a piece of paper and doesnt know what he's talking about. If you ask a question he will stare at you blankly and make up an answer. Awful. Odd man that somehow wound up teaching but cant do a good job at it. Avoid. He gives me the willys.
I feel much better reading these comments, thought it was me. I had Kirks class years ago for college success and he was very good. I didnt hesitate to take him again after a long break from cfcc. He's so rude now. What the heck happened to him? He used to be good. Now it seems one day he hates students and the next he's flirting. Not normal!!!!!!!
I took this class summer A online. Kirk provided study guides that were extremely helpful for the test. He required a 1000 word paper on art but graded very easy. If you are familar with your notes and with the required art you'll do fine.
I'm not sure why this class is called Leadership Development. No leadership skills taught and Mr. Kirk couldn't lead his way out of a paper bag. If you're a guy Mr. Kirk won't help you out. If you're a girl then he will do anything for you. I'm taking this class with my girlfriend and she's treated differently than I am by the prof. Skip this one.
I waited til the end of the class to write a review. I was hopeful I would learn alot. I learned not to take a class with this "professor" ever again. He knows less about religion then I did. Mr. Kirk's under educated & over friendly. Weirdest class and professor I've ever seen. Take Olson's class and learn.
This is my 2nd semester at Cf.Its my 1st as full time.Is this really how classes are taught?Professor Kirk was never prepared for our class and hardly ever treated us with respect. If you ask him a question he doesn't know he will fiddle with his water bottle or play with something. If you don't know dude, then say so!!!He makes girls uncomfortable.
One of the best online teachers I've ever had. Angel page was very clear and easy to use. Tests were graded quickly. Emails were answered quickly and politely. 1000 word essay required, however the class average for the paper was 95%. Do the required angel posting, use the study guides for the tests and take an hour to write the essay= very easy A
Stay away! The college could not find a more boring teacher to teach a more boring class. The class is totally useless and the teacher is awful. He makes attendance mandatory bcuz he knows no one would come to hear him babble on about nothing for 1 hour & 15 minutes. This class could've been great if a different teacher taught it. Kirk is no leader.
Worst. Can't teach.
Leadership development with Mr. Kirk was very easy. He is understanding and lenient if you have a legitimate excuse. I highly recommend taking him.
Mr.Kirk is an amazing teacher. You will pass his class with an A as long as you take notes and do the papers he assigns. He is willing to work with his students. He is pretty amazing. Highly recommended
Comparative Religions was a breeze with Mr. Kirk. Even being an atheist and generally against religion, I always enjoyed his lectures and easily passed with an A. As long as you attend the lectures, take good notes, and follow the study guides, tests are simple and the papers aren't difficult at all. One of my favorite professors, definitely.
Professor Kirk is an awesome teacher! You truly learn so much from the class and its really interesting because he allows you to attend religious services from all sets of religions. Requires 3 essays and 3 tests, good class.
Had high expectations for this class and this professor. I was very disappointed. The reason he grades everything so easy is because he has no idea what he is teaching. No teaching abilities at all. Kind of creepy to students. Allowing attendance at services would be great if he didn't use that as a substitute for his lack of knowledge. Poor.
I took him for Comp. Rel. Honors and really enjoyed the class. I loved going to the services and having guest speakers. Did not learn too much from the lectures and never studied for the two tests. Still got an A. Learned a lot from the experiences at the services.
this class was not very difficult, but was very time consuming because of the projects. Does not grade hard on the papers, but make sure to do the readings because there are pop quizzes.
Kirk is super easy and a really nice guy. 3 papers, all of them can be about visits to a religious institution, so no research paper. 3 tests, super easy. SOOOO BORING IN CLASS THOUGH.....
One of the easiest instructors on campus. Such an easy class. Very helpful and student friendly. I received an A.
I took this class online. I passed with a B plus. There are weekly discussion posts every week & there are tests. The course was pretty easy & as long as you do your posts on time everything should be fine. I'd recommend this professor.
Honors course. Pretty easy and I really enjoyed Mr. Kirk's lectures. Assigned reading, did classroom activities, and watched films. Work (papers/project/ interview) did take up some time but if you are capable of handling a decent load you'll do fine.
Professor Kirk is the man. 'nuff said.
MR KIRK IS ONE OF MY FAVORITE TEACHERS AT CF. I TOOK HIM FOR HONORS LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT AND COMPARATIVE RELIGION. AS LONG AS YOU TAKE NOTES AND READ THE MATERIAL AND DO WHAT HE SAYS TO DO ITS AN EASY A. -GLORIA O.
Really easy class as long as you do the work.
Class is very easy. Even if you don't read the text book you can get at least a B on tests. Wouldn't recommend for those who are passionate about history since he doesn't show a lot for it.
good teacher
Very nice teacher and such an easy class. He provides study guide for each chapter which is the exact same thing on the test.I never opened my book for this class. He is over all a very nice teacher. I took him online during Summer B and rarely opened my book.
This is an easy class. There were only 2 simple assignments, weekly discussion questions and 5 exams which the lowest score would be dropped. Study guides were given for every chapter, which made the class much easier. I took it through the summer and I would recommend him to those who need to take WOH class.
Took him for Comparative Religions. Planning on taking him for World Civilizations. His lectures are interesting. He speaks softly so you have to listen and pay attention to what he says. Doesn''t give out too many assignments. If you can take him for this class
I took this class for Comparative Religions, and i'm glad I did. Prof. Kirk understands that us students have a billion things to do during the week and only asks for a few things. Come to class so you can get good notes, participate, and do the assignments. There are only two tests (midterm and final), and there are three short papers to write.
Easy A, if you read the chapters and do the assignments.
This professor is a great guy. I had him online for an honors credit. He will help you out when you need it. He is super cool. I would definitely suggest this professor. Makes the humanities interesting. For regular students, you don't have to write a paper. For me, I had to write a 6 page on a book of my choosing. It was simple. Take this prof.!!!
Work hard and take good notes, because there is only one test and the final. He has guest speakers that come in to discuss different religions, and expects you to write three different papers on three different religions. He offers extra credit opportunities so take advantage of them, no matter what your grade is! Overall, great teacher! :)
Can't stress enough how nice Mr. Kirk is! Very easy going, and is one of those teachers that is a great guy outside of the classroom as well. He understands college life and doesn't give very much homework-maybe three papers total (AND THAT'S IT!) Brings in speakers for class, and gives extra credit. Take him if you can. He's literally SO NICE.
I'm not that great at history classes, unless it's an art history class. Mr. Kirk helped me every time I had a question, replied really quickly (faster than my other teachers this term). I ended the term with a 89.5% and he was kind enough to bump it up to a 90%! I would absolutely take a class taught by him again.
I took his World Civilizations I class online, it was super easy as long as you make sure to do the discussion questions and tests on time. Overall we didn't have to interact a lot with the professor. I would take him again.
I took Professor Kirk HUM1020 class online for the Summer term. His class was easy. You had 1 discussion, 4 or 5 test. If you follow the study guide that he gives you and look over the power point you will do well. I made an A in the class. Also you have 1 paper to write about different art work from the Appleton Museum. It was easy. Take him!
Very nice and understanding. Use your study guides, study pictures and you'll pass.
Mr. Kirk is the best teacher I have ever had! I took every single course he offered solely because he's an amazing teacher. Mr. Kirk worked with me outside of class and really cares about each and every one of his students. He offers extra credit options which are always awesome! I'm sad to graduate from CF because I'll miss Mr. Kirk.
Great professor, I have taken his Comparative religion class, World Civ I and World Civ II and he is a great teacher. Lecture get dull in Comparative religion but the interesting material keep you listening. Ive taken three of his classes back to back enough said.
This was the best teacher I have ever had at CF. Very kind and helpful. Lots of papers, easy grader. Tests are easy, answers given. "Textbook" is useless and lectures are boring. Do not take 1 day a week lecture class, it was so boring I wanted to die. I also took his Intro to Humanities and got a 100 in the class. Great teacher. Would take again.
Professor Kirk is a great choice if you have to take comparative religions. His lectures can be long but interesting, read your chapters from the book but rely more on his lectures. He tells you what the written part of the tests will be in class a couple days in advance so show up. easy essays and tests make this an easy "A" class.
Professor Richard Kirk was very attentive during the Summer semester. He replies to all messages by the next day and understands student issues if explained before hand. You will need your book because there are vocabulary words that are used on the test and each Discussion question subject comes from the book.
Prof. Kirk was awesome! I took him for REL2300 during summer. Classes were about 3 1/2 hours long, he did lecture for the whole class most of the time. He throws a few jokes here and there which can keep you interested. He lets you know what you will be tested on. Overall, great professor I'll recommend to anyone!
A great professor!
Amazing professor! Easy and informative class! It says book is required but I never bought mine and just took notes during lecture and passed every exam. Laid back teacher and throws in jokes during lectures to make it fun. All he requires is 3 papers and 3 exams, make that happen and you pass! I recommend him 100%
Kirk was a great teacher for comparative religions. You have to listen to him and go to class but he goes over what you need to know about your tests. Overall, Kirk is a great teacher all you have to do is apply yourself and go to class. If you skip class you might have some trouble. Highly recommend!
I had Kirk for my first semester, and I'm happy I did. I had a 3 hour class, however he would commonly release us early. He goes over key points and asks for your input on the subject if you wish to. He is very active in grading in a timely manner, and will email you to fix something if it is incorrect. Definitely will take again.
Kirk didn't helped me at all. I have some learning disability which one of them said that he need to provide me notes and he never did. The test was tricky. There is not a lot of assignment so you really need to get good scores on the mid and final exams which are the only 2 and it is 60% of you score, the other are on paper and attendance.
There is way to much writing in this class; more than I had in my English class. When it comes to the papers, he is strict on how he wants the papers written. I am so focused on the writing and trying to push through it, that I feel I am not actually learning the material. As for Kirk himself, I don't have anything negative or positive to say.
A gem of a professor. He is passionate about what he does, yet. he grades very fairly. He delves deep into the subject matter in a way that goes beyond just studying to pass a test.
Online bc Covid. He's encouraging and nice. Gives you summaries to read and links videos to learn more about religions. HW is not hard nor a lot. It's mostly you discussing what you find interesting about each religion. 3 simple essays, and midterm and final which are essay type and easy. I learnt a lot of interesting stuff.
Prof Kirk is super caring, understanding, and sweet. All readings and chapter quizzes are accessible through Pearson Revel e-text. There's 5 exams and 15 discussion posts based on the readings, which are an easy 100. He uploads study guides in the modules too. Clear criteria and well organized. This is an asynchronous course.
I took for comparative religions and his class was really easy. No quizzes or tests. All we had were discussions every week and 2 papers we wrote the whole class. The final is easy. It is just a few written questions you have to answer. YOU DONT HAVE TO READ TEXTBOOK. He gives us notes instead.
Lots of writing for the summer course. I didn't have the textbook, so I started the papers right away. two 1,000 word essays and several discussions. The final is multiple easy short response questions using notes from in the class. incredibly easy, there is an in person research event, very easy and eye opening.
I absolutely loved taking my comparative religions class with Professor Kirk! There were easy, short assignments due weekly. As long as you follow the instructions, you will get a 100. Professor Kirk also gives great feedback on almost all submitted assignments. I highly recommend taking a class with Professor Kirk!
Super easy class. As long as you do the weekly readings you are set. Amazing class 100% would take again. My favorite Professor I have ever had.
Very easy going Professor, gave us easy 125 word weekly discussions, with two 1000 words essay required over the course of the semester.
Professor Kirk is super gentle and super polite. I'm not a fan of history but he and this class changed my attitude. Every class meeting, Professor will list keywords that are worth remembering, on the whiteboard and talk about each of them. Everything about this class is seamless with synchronized chapters, discussion topics, and exams. Love it.
Doing distributive reading and you will be fine. The class meeting is what you should not skip because attendance and Professor will give us a head up about discussion topics, extra credit, and stuff. I like history more because of Professor Kirk!
Rambles a lot. The only thing he writes on the board are "Key Terms" and the student is supposed to define them. He does not post PowerPoints after class since they are mainly infographics (which are not very transcribable.) The monotonous tone in his voice makes it unclear what should be known for the only exams (which are the midterm and final).
This is the professor to take for your religions class. Explains things well and offers various view points. Weekly discussion post and two papers.
This class was easy and he is a good teacher. You have two papers which are movie reviews and you just answer his prompt questions. I would take some of his other classes too!
Professor Kirk's class was something I looked forward to every week. You would just come in, listen to him ramble, and then he would post a discussion for you to answer every week based off of the lecture. One of his papers was on your own spiritual journey which I thought was cool. His two exams were also take home. I feel like I learned a lot.
Professor Kirk is awesome! He's a calm, collected, and funny guy. His coursework is fairly easy. There are discussion questions, as well as two papers for the whole semester (a research paper is an option, but not required!). Just give him your honest thoughts and take notes, and you should be good with this professor. There is a midterm and final.
Good professor. 2 lectures a week and a total of 3 exams throughout the semester. Just attend class and take notes and you will be guaranteed an "A" on the tests. The material felt like review from high school, so you may go into the semester knowing a lot of the information. I would recommend taking him. super funny. easy class.
I took 2 classes with Kirk: this class and his Comparative Religions course. He is an amazing teacher, very lecture-heavy, but his tests were more about your opinion relating to the material. There was no textbook needed for either class. He provided lots of feedback online and was very good at answering questions after class.
Professor Kirk is a really friendly guy, and makes it very clear what is going to be on his exams. No surprises ever on the exam. Class always was relaxed and I like the way he taught history from multiple perspectives.
He's a really great teacher, lectures are clear, and tests are based on content covered in class. The criteria was really clear for the exams. There is room for you to express opinion within your assignments an overall id say a great class.
If you miss a few classes you cannot get an A just a warning. Attendance is a big grade. The tests are easy to pass, but all the information on the tests are in the lectures so you have to go. With no text book there is basically no way to learn what you missed. He has a great personality and was very organized. I loved him, would take again 100%!
Just go to class and pay attention.
Was a really cool teacher and down to earth. Pretty cool with attendance. Makes the class easy. I would recommend him to anyone.
Kirk still has the spark of love for teaching and it is evident in his teaching. Both classes I took were fascinating and I learned so much. Best thing is, while I had him for History and Religion, I still do not know his political slant or his personal beliefs. That right there is a hallmark of a great teacher. Learning, not indoctrination.
Kirk is a very knowledgeable man who taught his religion class in a manner respectful of everybody. He had lots of interesting information to share and he is easy to listen to. I hope to have him again.
Professor Kirk is very knowledgeable about different religions. His class consisted of 2 papers, discussion posts, and lecture-based exam material. Attendance was 20% of your grade. However, he falsely accused me of cheating on the final and threatened to fail me for the semester. This also happened to a student who used Grammarly for her papers.
Good teacher. Gave lots of lectures but they're pretty easy to understand. Hes kinda funny and I'm taking him again for another history class.
I really enjoyed being in his class! I usually hate history classes as it's repetitive, but this class was genuinely interesting for me. Lots of fun facts that typically are not mentioned, neat videos, and the teachings are not biased at all. It's also really easy to get a good grade in his class. Cool happy guy too.
Mr. Kirk is the best teacher I've had at CF. Lectures are great and informative. 3 exams across the semester. (35 MCQ, 3 short responses, 1 essay-ish) All easy, but you need to be in class every day and take good notes. He's enjoyable as a teacher and a person. Not much homework. Cares a lot about the subject. Will be taking him again just because.
One of the best professors at CF. There is 3 tests based on lectures, 2 papers (about 5 pages in length), and at most 5-7 small discussion posts due throughout the semester. If you pay attention and take notes you will pass every test with an A, they are pretty easy.
