I think Dr. Lamb is wonderful. when I first registered for his class, I thought that this class is going to be hard...you know Geology!!! but he made this class so easy and fun. One of the best classes I ever had.

I took this class this summer and Dr. Lamb is overall a great professor has solid knowledge about the field. I found this class to be very easy because he gives every student the opportunity to pass his course with an A by giving out a lot of extra credit. But, the material is good and I even finished the class early due to this extra credit.

Now this is what I call a professor! Dr. Lamb is extremely fair, gives you plenty of time to understand things, and does not put his students down at all. I enjoy his class, and the way he teaches. His tests are not the easiest, but he offers PLENTY of extra credit to make those points up! I highly recommend this teacher!

Handouts at the beginning of the chapter, plenty of opportunities for extra credit, fun lab exercises, and talk about snails. What is not to love? Class was fun and lively, I highly suggest taking BIO or any other class he teaches!

Dr. Lamb is not a riveting professor but his class is an easier A. that is not to say it is a walk in the park, you still need to study, but he gives you loads of extra credit opportunities. Go to the SI sessions, that will basically guarantee you an A. you also don?t need to buy the book, and keep track of your points! He is a little disorganized.

Come to class and labs, I got my grade through coming to class and doing the butt load of extra credit he gives... also he gives you chances to pass if u mess up.... Study cause this is no blow off class but TAKE DR. LAMB YOU WONT REGRET IT REAL TALK!!!!

Dr.Lamb is the best! He gives you a ton of extra credit, so if you mess up (which is not likely) then you have a chance to bring your grade up. Just come to class and do your work. You do need to study but he goes over everything and gives the answers before! I took this class cause i needed a science and i dnt regret it at all!

Dr. Lamb: very passionate about Environmental Science and his lectures are proof of this. The labs: fun, educational and fairly simple. Exams: study guides are given prior to each one. Extra credit opportunities: many. The course material: simple to understand. The S.I. Elaine: very helpful before and during class! I highly recommend this class!

Great teacher, very easy, unlimited extra credit. i failed most of my exams but if you do a lot of extra credit (mainly finding articles and writing a paragraph) and attending class because attendance also counts for extra credit you will get an "A" trust me!!!

I had professor Lamb for Bio 1511. He is certainly a character, but this does not detract from his excellent teaching. I would take anything he taught - the workload was fair, he gives the student every opportunity to succeed, and he explains things for all levels of comprehension.

Lots of extra credit including when he's late (often). Nice guy that enjoys his subject matter. Tests aren't easy, but there's always extra credit in them as well. No reason to do poorly in this class. Labs are lame, but it's not his fault.

Dr.Lamb is amazing! Extremely helpful and a great teacher. He is always willing to help you to succeed in any way.I wasn't particularly interested in the subject either.You do still need to do work, but hes with you every step of the way!Make sure you check the labs when he helps you with them and DO THE EXTRA CREDIT, just in case.

Dr. Lamb is not very organized,when I was preparing for my 3 lecture exam I still did not know the score for my 2 lecture exam which was taken a month ago. I got an A in his class but I had to do a bunch of extra work because he was not grading our tests and quizzes so I knew where my grade stood before the class was over.

Dr. Lamb is VERY CLEAR, EASY TO UNDERSTAND, EXTREMELY HELPFUL. He is even nice enough to give tons of extra credit and stay after class with you for lectures AND lab manual work! He did change the exam dates, yes, but it definitely worked in our favor. We had MORE TIME to study. HE WANTS YOU TO SUCCEED. DO NOT TALK IN CLASS OR INTERRUPT HIM.

Dr Lamb is very fair and gives you ery opportunity to get a very good grade. He is kind and enthusiastic. I did not use the book at all, but the lab manual is mandatory. I enjoyed the cass and would suggest you take him for any science.

I rec Dr. Lamb for any science class. He offers tons of extra credit, has a very helpful SI, and good study guides. It does require work, but he keeps the load as light as possible. Outside of class field trips mandatory.

Take him!! You can pass just on extra credit alone. He gives you a study guide which is the same as the exam. You don't have to take the third exam if you have 720 points. Their is a SI before class go and get the handouts and you will be fine. TAKE HIM!!!!

I am talking Dr. Lamb now for Biology 1500 Environmental Science. He is the best Biology professor Oakland Community College have. You can't fail his class because he helps you, has an SI, gives big time extra credit, and most of all hilarious. I would take any of my Biology classes with him. If you fail it's because you just didn't go, period.

Dr. Lamb is the best, take him and you won't regret it. Best BIO 1500 - Environmental Science professor ever. Gives you tons of extra credit, has an SI to help, gives study guides (they are extremely accurate, no tricks), and most of all he is funny. Don't be fooled, there is HW and SI sessions are a MUST! Labs at the beggining of the semester can be confusing but hold out, they gets easier. YOU NEED THE LAB MANUAL!! Buy it from the bookstore as amazon copies tend to be missing pages. As long as you do the work you'll get an A. There is also an opportunity to get out of the final.

His repetitious way of teaching cements the information in your brain permanently. His assistant holds tutoring before every class, and his lectures are interesting. His is one of the best professors I've had at OCC.

Guy is the biggest OG I have ever met. Realizes that his students aren't geologists and are here because they are forced to be to meet a requirement. If you do not get an A in this class it's because you didn't show up or forgot how to read. Dr. Lamb teaches Geology in a style that is non threatening and interesting. You may actually be interested in Geology as a career after this class. The SI study sessions are totally awesome and help stick the material in your brain.

Dr. Lamb is fantastic! He gives many many many extra credit opportunities. If you get enough points, you don't have to take the final & you can leave & never come back (have to turn in at least 8 labs & go to the mandatory fields trip as well even if you have enough points), but some people stay anyway. His SSI, Elaine is sooo helpful w/this class.

Dr. Lamb & SSI-Elaine Abbrecht are cool! This 2nd review is about Elaine. She took his class before & helps guide everyone to a successful semester in Geology. She hands out these awesome worksheets with the same questions on the tests. She has her own lecture an hour before Dr. Lamb. Go to her sessions if you can. I wish I went to all of them. :-)

Dr Lamb is a great instructor. He makes science classes both easy and interesting. The most important thing is to show up for the SI sessions. If you do the work and attend SI, it is very easy to get an A.

Let me just start by saying that the amount of possible extra credit in this class is simply insane. I had so much by the end of the semester I barely had to do my final essay. Your tests will be in the form of take home essays which are very long and time consuming but easy to get As on. The labs will require Chegg, and lab exams aren't hard.

Go to all of the SI Sessions and you will be fine. His SI lets you know exactly what to expect on the test. Dr. Lamb is a great, humorous professor and brutally honest with his students. He does have a tendency to get off topic and ramble. Lots of extra credit, & labs are actually interesting

Great professor! Funny! But the subject was sooo boring it was just something I couldn't get into! But he was great! The SI Elaine was the best! She was awesome! TAKE GEOLOGY WITH HIM YOU WONT REGRET IT!

This class does take a bit of work on your part but it is all easy and if you follow what the SI suggests for you, you will pass with an A+. It seems time consuming because if you attend every class along with the SI instructors group, you will be there a lot but it is so worth it. Both the professor and SI are easy going and very helpful.

Dr. Lamb is the best bio professor I have had. He is a great person and a great teacher. If you put in the right amount of work you will end up with a good grade guaranteed. Definitely enjoyed his class and will take him again! Elaine was his SI and she was wonderful, very helpful and has lots of knowledge that she uses to help students succeed.

Dr lamb was an awesome teacher. His class was out of 700 points. 400 for 4 exams which weren't hard. 60 points for lab exams, 140 for labs and 1000 point presentation. He offered over 120 point for extra credit. I really enjoyed his class and he'll help if you ask for it. The book wasn't used. Only his lecture notes. Easy A

He is a great professor, I enjoyed his lectures. He has take home exam which are easy but the still made you think. Would take his class over again.

Dr. Lamb is the best. If you go to elaine's SI study sessions you pretty much garuntee your self an A. She is the best too. She helped me so much. Dr. lamb sets his class up so if you do the work an A is very attainable. Take his class. Lots of work but clear path to an A.

Hands down, the best professor at OCC. He focuses more on making sure you understand the material rather than just memorizing it for a test and gives you chances at extra credit to boost your grade. Take him!!!

As a non-Science major, this professor was ideal. The combination of the professor and the S.I. made the class far too easy. (Just being honest.) I honestly think he should have made the class a bit more challenging, but I'm not complaining. For those who study Science, there are opportunities in the class to challenge yourself.

Hands down THE BEST PROFESSOR AT OCC. He explains everything that he expects from you and gives you everything you need to pass. Plus he offers many extra credit opportunities which is really nice!

He is the best. I took his class in the summer. Easy A!!!. All the lab info are on chegg. The test are take home, 20 points extra credit on each test. And 2 extra points on each lab test. Just put some effort in and you'll get an A. 100% recommend him. He's funny at times.

Dr. Lamb is an amazing professor! He is a man who wears so many hats, and his experience in several different fields make him so knowledgeable and reliable. His exams are take home exams and youre only required to do 10 questions. He offers up to 54 points of extra credit, not including the possible extra credit you can get on exams! Take him!!!

I have taken Lamb in the past and genuinely love the guy. He is passionate about his material and its not hard to get to know him. he loves to make the class sound a LOT harder than it is. All exams are take-home exams and require lots of your time, but doing the question is very easy because it is straight from his notes that he prints out for you

I recommend him in person, not online. Before pandemic made us online, it was great: his SI gives out study guides that cover everything on the exams &amp; he gives a TON of extra credit. However, once we went online things went downhill. Hes not super responsive over email &amp; not always on top of things. Study guide given 3 days before exam.

Dr Lamb was good in person but once we went online it was bad. He literally didnt give us our final study guide. Taking final exams is based on point values and he didnt start grading things he had kept since we went online until like 2 days before the final. I had to guess my point values to figure out if I needed to take the final. Poor online

Dr. Lamb was awesome. There's so much extra credit I don't know how anyone could not pass this class. He's easy to talk to, and once we switched online from COVID19 everything we needed was on D2L. He was a bit unorganized after switching online but still, the extra credit was provided and just consists of watching environmental documentaries!

Professor Lamb may be my favorite professor to date. His lectures are amazing, he's super down to earth, and a great person to learn from. He really knows what he's talking about and supplements every lecture with videos and examples. The tests are all take-home, and you have over a week to finish them on average, so no worries there.

Professor Lamb is a good guy. He offers plenty of extra credit, and gives a fair amount of work. If you wish to take the class just to pass, you shouldn't have any worries. The exams are take home essays and although the essay exams are quite long, they give you an opportunity to learn. IF you wish to learn, it will require hard work and research.

You would have to be flat out dumb to get an A- or lower in his class. I love this teacher, he's gives the best feedback and provides a good structure in his class. You will learn a lot but the work isn't that bad. It's easy to get an A.

Mr. Lamb is by far the best professor I have taken. He is super clear on how to do the homework he assigns, better yet he almost even gives you the answers to them! He assigns quizzes every week but they are super easy because he goes over it in every lecture he posts. I definitely believe Mr. Lamb is here to HELP us and pass any way we can.

Dr. Lamb is a great teacher. He goes above and beyond to accommodate the students. I took his environmental science class during the COVID/Online format and he does a great job of really spelling out what you will be graded on. Dr. Lamb truly just wants you to succeed and gives you an easy path of doing so. This class had tons of extra credit opportunities which landed me with above a 100% end of term grade. His lectures are easy to follow and fun to listen to. I signed up for zoom classes but he did not do them which was disappointing but I still did well.

Super easy class, graded by labs, lab exams and essay exams. Essay exams take longer to complete but everything is open book.. tons of extra credit offered, probably the easiest bio course you can take as long as its with dr. lamb

Honestly just a great professor and an easy class over all. Dr. Lamb is really understanding and just wants you to pass. Ive never gotten anything lower than an A in all of his classes(and I'm not good with science either), really really nice guy and easy class, I definitely recommend, hes the best.

This class was extremely boring to me. However, it was too easy to pass. Literally it is impossible to fail. Professor Lamb is very kind and easy to talk to. Quizzes once a week that have to be taken in person, 3 lecture exams, 3 lab exams, 12 lab assignments (considered homework), and two class field trips. Easy class but truly boring.

Dr. Lamb is very thorough in terms of schedule &amp; lecture. Follow the syllabus, buy the notes from the bookstore and you'll be fine! Definitely possible to get an A, just dont miss lab assignments and pass the quizzes. Lots of extra credit opportunities &amp; the field trips were interesting!

Dr. Lamb is a great guy. He's very understanding, provides a great deal of extra credit work, and his exams are straight from the text. You would really have to try to fail his courses. He offers great windows for turning in late work, and he is easy to reach when he is needed. I took him for Geology and Environmental Science.

One of my faves! Super goofy dude. Had him for 2 classes now. Super knowledgable, knows something about almost every science topic. If you like getting assignments back in a reasonable time, he is not the one for you. However I can say with almost 100% certainty that as long as you're turning things in, you will pass.

A+ professor, initially planned on dropping for different online science course and I'm very happy I didn't. He provides clear material for grading with AMPLE opportunity for extra credit if needed. Study guides are VERY VERY helpful and clear/easy to understand. 10/10 recommend. (He is often late though which is annoying, but he gives ec if he is)

Probably one of the best professors I've ever had. very caring, genuine, and even cracks corny jokes with the class. He makes it enjoyable and clearly has a love and passion for biology. He grades easily and lets you know exactly what he wants from you for every assignment. Listen to the reviews and take him!

This was a really good professor. Got straight to the point each class period and let us leave early if we finished early on lab days. He's very kind and genuine and gives you a lot of time to turn in your assignments for full credit. I would take him again if my major were science.

Dr. Lamb was an amazing professor. His class was probably an easy A. He cares about his students and wants them to succeed in their chosen fields. He gives a lot of extra credit. It is okay with him even if you submitted the lab late, make sure you talk to him. I love how he incorporated videos into his lectures. It was so entertaining.

Take-home exams that consisted of 10 "papers". There's a prompt and you can either draw a diagram or write a two-paragraph essay with a two-page limit. He gives 12 or 13 prompts and you can choose. Each question answered is worth 10 pts and more than 10 is extra credit. Weekly lab took a lot but his class can be an easy a, I had a 113% for a while.

Professor Lamb is 'The Best' teacher I've ever had!!!!! His lectures are fun and very interesting. He stays focus on his curriculum, while at the same time, welcomes feedback and questions. He truly cares, is inspiring and sincere! You will actually look forward to coming to his class. I wish I'd taken more of his classes. Md. Lamb gets an A+++!!

Dr. Lamb was great! He has a lot of good stories from his life and experience in the field and gives a personality and character to all the content. The study material he gives is exactly what is on the test and you could probably get an A+ in the class twice over if you did all the extra credit. Minimal homework, mostly filled out in class.
