Would have been good if he had stopped telling us the same thing every day. I never felt like I was learning, and I usually do very well in math. He made me not want to learn the material from his teaching method. He has good intentions though.

I don't know if it was LeBorne or the actual material that made me fall asleep all the time. The material was boring, but LeBorne didn't help matters much. I got tired of his lectures on the state of education in the U.S.. Nice guy, though.

Good teacher. Be ready to learn. If you have problems, LET HIM KNOW! As long as your try, and show that you know the material, you will do fine. Nice guy to talk to too. Highly recommend him!

He is a decent teacher, however; if you do not learn well by reading the book, I advise you to take someone else. He offers much help if you go to his office, but not much help in class.

he is so worried about what people are typing on this site or putting in his reviews that he fails to spend the necessary time on teaching calculus II. if you want to learn everything on your own but still be forced to attend class, this is your teacher.

He is a tough teacher, but is ALWAYS there if you need help. Really cares about what he does. People don't do well becuase they don't problem solve; they want formulas. Don't expect to be given a grade; you earn it. Very organized class.

underwater basketweaving? i thought that was a junior course. anyway his class is (and i repeat) not by any means easy. Any class where the 1st test the highest grade is in the 80's and the lowest is in the 20's is not an easy class. very good teacher

Dr. Le Borne has been the best professor I've met so far since I've been here. I really wish all professors were as caring and so thorough with his teaching. He tries to get you to see how everything works, not show you shortcuts to just get an answer.

LeBorne's a decent teacher. Still seems lost in the 60's though. Gives too few examples, but tries to teach you the grassroots reasons. Not the most advisible for freshmen.

Dr. Leborne tries to help but only talks in math language.(and birdhouses) One of the reasons people dislike his teaching because they get upset because they arent acustom to his teaching style and dont give him any slack.

He does not TEACH you anything, sitting in his class is a waste of time. you would be better off doing ANYTHING ELSE! He does care about students (+), but he makes things harder than they should be, take him if you want to learn it all on your own!

Teaches much different than i have ever been taught before. He will thoroughly explain one problem a day. Weekly quizzes are easy, but you can never finish his tests in the given 50 minutes. He gives all even and odd answers from the book in soft reserves

If you want to actually learn material take him, but if your looking for an easy A don't. He'll make you work, test are average. He makes you learn the material 1st and if you don't quest. are for class. Extra Credit if you come to his office.

If you want to acutally understand what you are doing and get prepared for the next step in math then take him. He does not make it easy, but he is willing to help all you have to do is go to his office and ask questions in class.

Do not ever take him. He is a horrible teacher because he goes over one problem per day. Do not listen to all these other comments because le borne is a horrible teacher and he should not teach ttu. His tests are so hard because he combines them all into one problem and you will never finish them.

Excellent teacher. If you want to learn the material and exceed in later math classes then this is the guy for you. Will go out of his way to help a student, but you have to take an active role in your own education for him to do this. If you give an honest effort, you will not fail.

At first i thought the guy was nuts. Kept talking about dramatizations, but after the class dwindled down to the ones that wanted to work, it wasnt to bad. His tests are hard but doesnt give many grades. The thing I liked most is how i learned how "to think" though math. Best "C" i ever got.

Hardly ever comes to class on time. Typically only covers one problem for the entire class time, and it doesn't usually help you understand the material. Graded HW consists of chapter outlines, and is a complete waste of time; outlines don't give you feedback about whether you understand material!

Lebourne is a nice guy and is willing to help any student that will take advantage of his knowledge. If you are the kinda kid that skates thru college I WOULDN'T TAKE THIS PROFFESSOR!!! His tests are the closest to Hell I have EVER been! And he only lectures on 1 problem per day? Save yourself!

Yuck. The point of his class is to make all future math classes seem easy. He does this with flying colors. My only problem is that I couldn't pass his class to get to the other classes.

LeBorne is great, and this is coming from someone who failed (horribly) his first two quizzes and scored a 23 on the first test. He really helped me out and now I'm scoring perfect grades on everything. I have only missed three points since. He's a great teacher. Highly recommended!

I can not tell you how much I appreciate and respect this man. Not a math person,but are willing to try? Do you have trouble with even the basics like long division, but want to learn? This is your man. He teaches REAL math rather than recipes and short cuts. He rebuilt my skills from scratch.Take!

Makes test ungodly hard, even if he is not teaching the class. Needs to mind his own business and not have any input into other classes. Because of him the Mid-term was so awful that they had to throw it out. Waste of payroll in my option.

He is a good teacher who really makes you know the material to get a good grade. He is really scary the first bit of class. He doesn't want to grade 35 tests. If he likes your class, your grades will be curved. I would take him again.

I recommend that you avoid this professor at all costs. Calculus III is a difficult subject made even more difficult by this man's refusal to teach. One essentially has to teach himself the course. The outlines are a waste of time that do nothing more than add to an already heavy load. He really needs to stop teaching and go back to industry.

A stuck up,holier than thou man who needs 2 not b teaching.Doesn't care abt his students & had the audacity 2 insult my education because I attended a university that is a known rival 2 his own alma matter.Outline the chapter is a useless waste of time,and does not help u learn at all.Avoid his class unless you learn well by reading on your own!

Makes sure that you understand the concept instead of just giving countless examples. A tough course but keep up with your work and you will do fine. Will provide help if needed and asked for. A great teacher.

Awesome teacher! I really enjoyed his class. He made me think about why math works, not just "recipes." I feel as if I know more about math now than ever! People are hard on him, but if you keep up with the material, you'll do fine. He's always more than willing to help you out on anything!

he is probably the most down to earth phd i know. he is a very practical person, who teaches you by teaching you to teach yourself. i believe you will learn more about life form this man than you will about math. he tends to seems intimidating: this is a facade. get to know him! when taking his class expect to learn more than you paid for. take him

Dr. Leborne is a good teacher with high standards and lofty goals for the class. he wants the students not only to succeed, but be able to make connections with non-mathematical aspects of life. if all you want is someone to drone on and spit examples on the board, don't take any of his classes. this is my 2nd, and i'll have him again in the fall.

Absolutely awesome. For the first time, I believe I actually learned how to think. He is a tough professor and be prepared to learn. Wished I would have taken his classes more. He actually is glad to see you come to his office unlike most of them. But I dont mind working hard for a professor like this.

Dr. Le Borne is the type of teacher who wants his students to understand the material, PERIOD! If you don't know something go by his office, and ask him he wants students who don't understand something to see him. If he's not inclass he's usually there. So interst and try to learn and you'll pass. He's probably my favorite teacher at tech!

Do not take Dr. LeBorne. He expects you to teach yourself Calculus by just reading the book. His class is extremely hard. He does not give you examples in class because he believes that that would not help you. Belive me, if you want to get a good grade in calculus, do not take him!

I liked Leborne a lot, he teaches students how to learn on their own and not follow a patteren, not really learn the math. He will help you when ever you need it and he makes the class interesting with his stories. If you try to learn by analizing the given then will make a B or A easy. I have made a perfect score on everything so far(midterm)

Doesn't do many examples on the board. He tries to teach you more about how to learn than how do actually do the math, which is good for some people, but makes it very hard on others. Class was very slow also, only did the first 2 chapters. He is very helpfull if you go to his office outside of class.

Best professor I've had so far. However, it is 100% necessary to apply yourself in his class. His policy is that you go over the material for lecture, and then he lectures on it. It is so awesome to be able to work an example out along with the teacher, instead of slavishly copying down his half-legible writing. I definitely recommend him.

This guy is a horrible teacher. Only take this class if you are wanting to fail. I took Calc last year and got an A in high school, now I'm barely passing in his class.

This professor is just plain average. His teaching style is also nothing special. If you have never taken Calculus before I would not recommend him. If you have taken Calculus in high school it might be a little easier however it will still be difficult. No matter what, you will have to work hard to get a good grade.

Great guy, he cares about his students, but the biggest reason to come to class is for the announcements about what he's going to cover, and quiz dates, and test dates, etc because his lectures can be hard to follow, is all..... His lectures are ok, but if you aren't very careful, you'll miss some small something that'll smack you in a test...

I dont understand what people are so mad about here.This is the easiest class ive taken.I workded maybe 5 problems form the book. some say they made an A in high school and are now failing. Obviously,the standards were really low.I know that his quizzes and tests are a little harder than usual,but it's so easy to get partial credit.easiest A so far

Dr. Le Borne is very much interested in teaching the structure of mathematics, and a mastery of every math course from algebra through Cal II is important. He works through everything with a lot of detail, once. Office visits are highly informative but are often tense or more focused on chatting. All this said, if you like math, take him.

This is the professor to take for math! He really cares about the success of his students, however, you have to show the effort! He explains things very clearly and in-depth. He doesn't teach fast. The key to success in there is working the practice problems from the book and ones assigned online. Questions on tests/quizzes very similar.

He was most definitely the best professor I ever had. He was slow when it came to covering material, but his lectures got to the logic behind the questions, which is more important; very informative, approachable, and helpful. I strongly recommend him for any class unless you wanna just zip through.

DO NOT TAKE. Acts like a third-class comedian. Asked the weather until student would say it was fine, even on stormy days. Wasted lecture time talking crap. Only good thing was that quizzes and tests came straight out of the book. Again, don't take unless you are masochist.

Very Helpful, and a nice guy, however I must say that he didn't cover all of the class material. Good tests, wasn't hard at all, probably the most helpful teacher I've ever had, and I would recommend him especially if you have already had to drop the course as I did. If you don't know the material, you might want to take someone else.

Great Teacher but dont just base everything on his notes. Go and picked out the hardest problem in the book and do them. Because those are the types of problem that you will see on the quiz and test. Sometime even exactly the same. I had him for calc II and Diff E enjoyed both of them. Learned alot of new tricks if you asked him to show you :)

If I'd done more practice problems, I would have done better in the class. Dr. Le Borne's class is less about teaching you methods and more about making sure you understand the material. When he tells you to read the book and do some problems, do it. He doesn't take up homework, but that's because the quizzes will tell him how much you studied.

He is the worst professor I have had this semester. He rambles and even told me that I was going to drop out because I don't live on campus and I have a job. I wouldn't recommend taking him to my worst enemy.

He's a jerk when it comes to teaching style. But you will know your stuff when you leave his class because his tests are 3-4 questions and they're over multiple chapters at a time. You've got to teach yourself. Not easy at all, but manageable. Never go to him for help.....useless.

At first the class seems hard. It includes online homework and writing homework journals. At first it seems dumb but in time it makes sense. Yes you teach yourself but there are video lectures and notes online. come to class prepared and ask questions. As the semester goes by class gets better keep your attendence up and study well in advance.

I'll be honest, the first month into his class I hated his teaching method. He doesn't really teach the material but rather teaches you how to learn. But listen to him! Using his strategy my grades improved in every class. I just wish I had learned his method back in Calculus 1, I would definitely be a lot stronger of a mathematics student.

Dr. Le Borne appeals to a special group of students, specifically the more theoretical ones. But, when it comes to problems, UNDERSTAND how to do them. Homework is a joke, and the reports are tedious and annoying, but be honest; he looks at them. On tests, show HOW you did the problem, and if you're methods are right, you'll get 9/10 points.

The Con's -Mandatory attendance and homework -If sarcasm isn't your thing, he's probably not the teacher for you -First two weeks his teaching is more like ranting The Pro's -Care's about students who try and show up -If you do as he asks and talk to him you won't fail his class -He is a very fair grader who gives lots of partial credit

He flips his class, so you have to do a lot on your own. He also goes through stuff very slowly; this can be either good or bad. However, I did not like it because I learn from multiple examples and we would get through only one or two per class. He does care and wants his students to do well, but he doesn't change his teaching to fit the students.

Here's a quick rundown of Le Borne. He firmly believes his teaching style is the best (shocker). Attendance is taken but doesn't impact your grade. Exams are difficult enough to make students sweat (well above 60% failure rates). Vocally expresses his discomfort when students don't participate. Lectures can be awkward. Only wears sandals.

I took Cal 2 online over the summer to get a better grade, and this class was much better than in class with Daniels. He grades work pretty quick, usually next day or two at the beginning of the semester, but the last two weeks or so he didn't post grades regularly. Overall I would definitely recommend his online class. (ps tests aren't proctored)

I took his class online over the summer. I think an in-person lecture would be easier. He gave very clear grading criteria and preferred methods of study (method is v important to him). Allowed me partial credit for redoing a problem on my final. Non-proctored quizzes and exams.

He is the worst. He's full of himself and thinks he knows how to teach math the "right" way. He obviously just like to hear himself talk. I took his class freshman year and now I'm a senior and let me just go on the record and say he was the worst professor I have ever had. He's the worst kind of math teacher, unclear and consistently inconsistent.

I am not one to judge but this is by far the worst PERSON I've met. I had 1 class with this professor and knew I needed to be out of there immediately, he was extremely inconsiderate to everyone in his class, his homework is very time consuming (excess of 12 hours a week), and expects you to know everything he's teaching before the lecture.

Though he is a Professor that at times seems to make you think he in fact wants you to fail he is willing to help you in anyway he can as long as the student is willing to put in the work to meet him half way. He will give you opportunities to better your grade and is willing to work a problem step by step with you.

Coming from a good student, don't waste your time taking him. His teaching method is awful and he insists that it's correct always. Once he realizes how bad the class is doing near the end of the semester due to his noncomprehensive lectures, he tries to help you the best he can, but with little success. I'd try a new professor if taking again.

95% of class is spent ranting, insulting class "effort" when he hasn't taught us a single concept. Quizzes are over material never talking about in class. Massive ego, blames class for not trying when he doesn't teach. Throws tantrums when students don't understand. Be prepared to teach yourself. Good luck if you struggle with math.

Shames and demoralizes class as a whole for not knowing material and doing bad on quizzes/exams (class average on first quiz was 40%).At that point, the students are not the problem. Only take his class if you already have previous knowledge of pre-calculus. Also be prepared to teach yourself with hours of HW over material not on the tests/quizzes

Le Borne was honestly a good teacher, he expects a lot of outside work and practice though. He is big on communicating with him, whether it be struggles on the homework or quizzes. If you do not put in the work to learn the material you will not do good. Quizzes are online and homework is more of a journal, only 3 tests and a final.
