I took him during the summer, so he moved very quickly. But, he was very willing to explain the problems. He does not collect homework.
I took him during the summer too. Too fast-paced for me. Don't take if you haven't had math in a while. He's like Richard Simmons and Christopher Lowel combined...on steriods...but a good teacher, if you know what you're doing.
I didn't like his negative sarcasim. It was never aimed at me, but I do not feel he should treat people this way. No one should be told, maybe they will get the concept when they taket he class the next time, or things in that manner.
I took College Algebra over the summer. They call him Speedy Leedy for a reason, but he was great. I magically understood algebra for once in my life, lol. I would recomend him.
SPEEDY LEEDY IS AWSOME! Hes very nice and even though he is very speedy he is willing to stop and explain it to you infront of everyone! Not like some professors who will say "see me after class!" HES very nice and a good teacher!
Some people have a fear of taking Speedy Leedy, but I think he was the most clear of all math professors I've taken. Yes, he's fast, but he's extremely clear and he will stop to answer questions. He will tell you the class before the exam EXACTLY what will be on the exam, you just have to listen & pick it out. Overall, Leedy is definately good
This man has the worse way of explaining math problems he goes way too fast and is very unclear.
DO NOT TAKE THIS PROFESSOR!!
Took in summer and he flies quickly through the information. I liked him quite a bit even though I didn't understand much towards the end. Likely not his fault though since I was absent once a week. I think he is a good teacher and he was always willing to explain things further if you asked.I would take him for another math class.
Professor Leedy, is supper easy. that is if you pay attention and follow him through the explanation process. they call him "speedy" and thats for a reason. If you get stucked with something, he takes his time to explain. he makes jokes that are not funny, but stupid. and they become funny just for the fact that they are stupid and makno sense.
He is one of the best professor's that I ever took. He is easy and he is funny. He is really devoted in helping students and best teacher to have. TAKE HIM AND GO TO CLASS REGULARLY. If we don't go to class regularly, and we fail; its not teacher fault. It is our fault and be advised that you never judge teachers.
Extremely difficult and hard to follow. Odd personality. First class I have ever dropped in college. Assigned loads of homework that did not apply to test and gave no study guide or direction for the test. His in class review was almost useless. Would strongly advise against this teacher.
Great teacher!
I think Mr. Leedy is GREAT! For the 1st time I actually understand what I am doing and why I am doing it. Yes, he is fast but if your there almost everyday and do your homework and PAY ATTENTION IN CLASS you should have no problem. I would say to take him to anybody. He is the best Math teacher I have ever had. He's funny too!!!!!!!!!!!!
Hard hard hard class. His lecture and examples are straight from the book, so very few actually knew what was going on...
GREAT TEACHER... They call him Speedy Leedy for a reason... But he is a great teacher who goes out of his way to let you know what is going on.. Homework is not mandatory and he goes over the test the day before... Even the problems on the test he works them before the tesst... Pay LOTS of ATTENTION!!! Odd, but funny guy...
Very personable, if that's what you're looking for. Goofy little man, but a solid in his work. Great professor, and clear in what he teaches. However, BEWARE! If you take him at night/fast track, don't blame him if you can't keep up -- he HAS to move fast. I suggest taking him during a typical semester. He is wonderful.
Great Teacher. I finally understand factoring.
agree completely leedy is a great teacher. And as long as you attend class you should e fine. He does do examples straight from the book but also goes over any question the next day and reviews for the test.
I feel that his reviews do not cover what is on the test. You ask questions and he answers, but never gives you any detail as to what will be on the test. Very unclear. Sarcastic when he thinks what you are asking is stupid. Ok teacher not my worst or best.
He is a good teacher. He goes a little bit fast, but if you ask questions, he'll explain. He goes over ever type of problem on the board, which is very helpful. I am going to take him again for College Algebra.
The guy flies through material, so dont take him if you learn math at a slower pace. he knows his stuff. but I ended up seeing tutors 3x a week because he goes so fast.
MR LEEDY IS AN AWESOME TEACHER HE IS SO THOROUGH, HELPS YOU WHEN YOU NEED IT, AND IS FUNNY TO. HE IS REALLY NICE AND WOULD RECCOMEND HIS CLASS TO ANYONE
i took him for int. alg.. he is very hard to understand. very nice guy and fun but he goes way to fast. they dont call him speedy leedy for nothing. lol
I loved his classes. He does go a bit fast but if you have any questions or feel confused just ask questions, he'll always answer. He is very helpful before and after class and also during office hours. I took him for Trigonometry and Calculus 1, and wished I would of taken more classes with him. Excellent teacher, highly recommended to all !!!
I love Prof. Leedy! He's brilliant with math, my only complaint is that he teaches the book and doesn't make his own lessons. He's a million times better than the book. This class is HARD, but Prof. Leedy is very open to questions and answers them clearly. Not one of those profs that make you feel stupid. He's also really funny, always makes me smile.
In a word, useless. I cannot explain his ability to effectively instruct a class save for this word. His nickname should be a warning to all prospective students. SPEEDY LEEDY. Avoid at all costs. Save your tuition $$ for a professor who has the time to do their job.
loves what he does
Good Class -- it was Extremely HARD! Professor Leedy makes it easier with his explanations of the material and his other assignments during the term. Took the 6 week over the summer.. Overall great professor, tough class. You won't go wrong with Professor Leedy.
The best math teacher I've ever had. Explains things well. The home work is not required but to pass his class you will probably want to do it. He is kind of corny, but a really nice guy. Answers questions before tests and super helpful. You wont need the book unless you plan to study.
Extremely helpful. Love his teaching style. Recommended for anyone having to take this course or college algebra!
He surely loves math. Gives partial credit on the tests. You must study the material. Very boring sometimes. He reads the book word for word. Only goes over homework if you ask. 6 tests and a final. No extra credit so don't ask. He does tell you what to study for the tests. He has corny jokes but is a nice guy. He might be from another planet.
Pro. Leedy is one of the best professor i have ever had. When i was through with 1105 i understands how to do factoring, and rise over run. he is always there to assist you whenever you dont understands a math problem. Do homework although it is never graded but, it will help you to pass his class. He teaches at a fast pace, attend class regular.
Prof. Leedy is great, I hate math and he is really good at explaining things. Do the homework and ask questions.
Took him over the summer and online. It was nightmare. I was literally studying 5 hours a day trying to understand the material because his "notes" are just copied out of the text book word for word without any explanations. If you are a good teacher and can teach yourself be my guest.
He reads out of the book. Does explain things. He gave fairly easy tests and would tell you what to look for. Show your work. Gives lots of partial credit. Also took him for Calc II. There is no homework to turn in. ^ tests in calc II and 4 in Differentials. This makes keeping your grade up hard. Is willing to explain things so you can understand.
I am not a fan of math but loved Leedy's class. His jokes are corny but I enjoyed it. I ended up with an A in his class but I did have to study. I took him in 6 weeks. My only complaint is that sometimes he goes off talking about something irrelevant and it can be confusing. He does speak and write fast but is clear and a lenient grader.
best math teacher ive ever had! hes old and weird but he knows his stuff. You do have to put you part and study hard. but i did go from alg 1 level all the way to college alg. in 1 class bc i took leedy! I highly recomend him it ur willing to work hard to understand math. it will help u greatly in the future.
Leedy is an amazing teacher. He doesn't collect HWs. He goes over few HW problems during the next class period. He explains things step by step and is very helpful!!! He does have a strange sense of humor, but he tries. His tests are similar to some of the HW questions. Tests are easy if you reviewed/studied. Drops lowest test grade.
Leedy is a different type of professor..lol. He was very helpful and clear with his lessons. I'm not sure if it's because I LOVE math or what. HW is assigned but it's not mandatory to do it; however, it does help you in the long run. He always say "Back at the ranch". I would suggest him only if you are good at math and confident in math:D
Great teacher. Funny in his own way but he's funny because of it. He knows his material inside and out and very helpful during his office hours. Speedy Leedy is his nickname. He goes kinda fast for good reason. There is a lot of material to cover and not so much time. But if you don't understand just utilize the office hours posted. Calc class BTW.
Really nice and pretty lenient as long as you're willing to make things up. Took his class 100% online and got an A. He isn't the most helpful when you ask questions but he does respond and tell you what to do. I would take him for another math class.
I took Mr. Leedy completely online, and got an A. This class was not super easy, but if you put the effort you will get the grade you deserve. I will definatley take him again!
Very helpful and funny. This was my 3rd time..yes third time takin the coarse and I passed with a A. I recommend him to anyone
He moves to quickly through the work. He has everything prewritten so he just speeds right through it. He'll tell how to do something one way for his tests, but says that you have to do it another way to pass the final. The class was easy for me, but the final caught me off guard, and I'm good at math! I'd recommend if you're good at math.
Barely passed this class. He is not a mean or rude guy, just difficult to move along with. I would only recommend him to those who are fast paced and a natural at math.
I had him for online College Algebra. It's sooo easy, you pretty much do your work and get 100's for everything. I passed with a 98A! :)
Great guy who cares and wants you to learn i highly recommend him
Very nice and funny. He is very helpful. Sometimes, the way he words things does not make sense, but he will explain it if you ask him. His class is very easy and he makes the class fun. I would definitely recommend him. I have taken two classes from him: one online and one in person. Both were great classes.
I took this class online and honestly if you are good in math and catch on quickly this is the class for you. The work its self is not hard, but you do need to be dedicated and do all of it. There are quizes/review before the tests. He responds very quickly to any questions.
Professor Leedy is amazing. I struggle in math!He made this class easy to understand and he is so helpful!!Thanks Professor Leedy, you are awesome!
Excellent teacher. He loves his field and posts his notes in content on PAL. He answers emails quickly, and has no problem with asking questions. He drops a test and five homeworks from MML at the end.
Prof Leedy great teacher. i was afraid to take math online, but he is very helpful and posts notes on pal. He wants to see his students to do well.. Glad I took him.
This guy makes math pretty interesting. He is a little strange sometimes but it makes the class more bearable. I received an A in the class because I studied the notes and I went to almost very class. Go to his class the class before a test ALWAYS. He will tell you what type of problems will be on the test.
He is a very attentive to needs of the students. Will respond to emails quickly and reminds you of tests and projects that are due.
Hardcore class! You teach yourself... This class is no joke. Everything you do in this class is graded.
He gives thorough notes by having it all already written down to explain to you for you to take the notes.
I took College Algebra online. It was one of my first classes back in six years, so I was worried. MML was a pain, and I did end up needing a textbook to help me out. I really liked Professor Leedy. He was very helpful, responded to emails very quickly, and was extremely nice. I have no doubt he's an excellent teacher in the classroom.
I took Intermediate Algebra. Main grades are "combos" of a test, a quiz on pal, and extra book work. ONLY take his class if you are an aural or visual learner. His notes are all pre-written which made it hard for me to understand how he got to his solutions since all he did was point and explain. Kinesthetic learners: Don't take his class.
He's more interested in doing problems than explaining anything. Very difficult to get clear answers from him. Still, he's a pretty nice guy, just not a good intructor. Four tests and a final. Final is very, very hard.
I am not the best in math, I actually really dread it. But Professor Leedy made it so so clear, broke down the concepts and showed us every step in completing a problem. You have to be very engaged during the notes and lecturing because he does have a tendency of going fast but everything is very organized and helpful. He's honestly the best!
The subject was pretty straight forward if you paid attention to detail. He was extremely fast in solving problems in class, hence why they call him speedy leedy. If you're not strong in math and need a little guidance, he would not be the teacher for you. If you're strong in math, I highly recommend him for differential equations.
Leedy is very werid and his notes are confusing. He puts all his notes on PAL and all the homework is online too so going to the actual class is pointless. He also teaches soley from his prewritten notes on the projector, which likes to shut off in the middle of him teaching. You also may not have a textbook, but you have to do a lot on Connect.
Professor Leedy was very unhelpful with his online class. The online program "Connect" was a disaster and nothing worked like it was supposed to. After two weeks I had drop the class because I could not get any work done on connect. The program would freeze constantly and the professor would provide no help and no leniency. Connect Sucks!!!!!!!!
Uses MyMathLab the majority of the time. Quizzes and Tests every two weeks with homework. Final is way easier than the quizzes and tests produced by MyMathLab. Straightforward class. Plenty of resources to use.
Professor Leedy is a pretty laid back professor. He gave you plenty of time in between tests to get all the homework done on MML. However, his test reviews were not even close to similar to anything on the tests. His final was super hard because his final exam review was so different.
Mr. Leedy was great all Spring. Responds to emails quickly, asks if anyone has any questions before moving along, and gives plenty of time to write notes down if you'd rather not print them from PAL. There were about 5 tests or so. Connect (online HW) can replace and drop a bad test grade (this saved me from failing). Sometimes he teaches fast.
I took the fast track course. He lets you redo all homework assignments so you could get 100% in Mymathlab. The tests were not that hard but you have to spend a lot of time studying. If you do the homework assignments over and over you will learn, how to do the processes. The final caught me off guard because it was paper not on the computer.
I took the online fast track class for fall. Prof. Leedy gives great feedback. Even though there's a lot of tests, he's a lenient grader and even curved a few test grades. At the end, he drops 1 test and 5 homeworks to bring up your overall grade. He rounded my grade up to a C because I was just under, which helped me pass. My final was online.
He sits at a desk reads directly from the intros of each section in each chapter. There isnt additional teaching. He literally reads from the book & expects you to answer the questions. Then he relies on connect math to teach you the rest. Be homework/quiz ready. The class material is fairly easy, just do the work. He is kind and tries to be funny.
Overall an okay professor. Kinda weird guy, but he teaches okay. I neither recommend for or against him.
Typical my math lab course. But, he was accessible when I had issues. I also had several things going on in the middle of the class and he was very kind and fair with allowing me to makeup work beyond the due date. Wish I got a higher grade, but I got the grade equivalent to the work I was able to put into this class.
Professor Leedy was there for me when I needed him. Math is not my thing, but whenever I went to him for help, he always gave me great feedback and was always willing to help. You have to work hard, but its definitely worth it.
He was really cool from the start. Hes really laid back and understanding. If you have technical difficulties just email him, he completely understands. Always curved test grades like 3 points. Drops a lot of grades at the end. He says he goes by the MyMathLab grade but ended up taking my canvas grade, it was a whole letter difference. C to B
You dont need the book for the class but you have to buy the online code which is over $100. If you do not need this class do not take it is stupidly easy
This professor never writes down anything new, he just shows you old notes, just old files that you could just download instead. He will not hesitate to degrade students for not immediately knowing something he's dedicated his entire life to. I'm incredibly upset with how he "teaches", highly regret taking his class
Great prof
DO NOT TAKE PROFESSOR LEEDY. He uses notes from years ago on copy paper & projects them on the screen. He talks about the concept, DOES NOT TEACH IT, & moves on to the next example. If you ask for an explanation, he has a sarcastic response and does not help. He does not put any grades in canvas so you're unaware of your average for the course.
Professor Leedy has been my favorite professor of all time. I will take every course that he offers from now on. There are very few professors that truly care like Professor Leedy.
Does not teach. You will teach yourself.
I took MAC1105 online, and was a bit nervous as I had never taken a math class online. Although you do have to do most of the learning by yourself, he is always accessible if you have a question. MyMathLab also has a "Show me how to do this," option which is very useful. There's a decent amount of homework, but you have unlimited attempts on them.
Same as every math class Ive taken. He assigns all homework through MML and is always willing to answer questions. He responds back to students quickly. His humor made the class a little lighter. Follow notes and ask questions and you will be fine. He drops lots of grades at the end of the semester to boost our grade.
The online class is the standard MyMathLab class, but Professor Leedy makes it better. He checks all tests to see if Pearson made a mistake and is available at pretty much all times. He seems to care a lot for his students. My only complaint are for his notes, which are photocopies of problems with audio. Other than that he's the best for online.
I took prof Leedy for college algebra and intermediate algebra, great teacher as long as you put in the effort needed you will pass.
Although professor Leedy is a nice and good professor his class is extremely hard is youre bad at math. All assignments and tests are on MyMathLab. And tests are proctored.
He was a good professor. You may not need the textbook but its easy to figure out how to do the math.
If you do the minimal homework and show up to class regularly you will be just fine. Leedy reminds me a lot of my Granddad and really cares about your success if you just ask for help when you need it.
I did not enjoy taking Intro to College Math with professor Leedy. He does not communicate well or respond to emails in a timely fashion. He had me marked as not attending the first week of class because he claims he had my name on the role twice. You pretty much have to teach yourself in this class. I would not recommend.
Do not take the online class for MAC1105 unless you are ready to teach yourself math. The homework is super long too, like 30 questions each. MyLabMath is terrible I will never take another class that says it uses MyLabMath ever again. Prof. Leedy might be a great professor in person, but DO NOT take this class online only.
Professor Leedy is very good, 10/10. He responded quickly to emails and allows for extensions on work. However, MyMathLab is TOUGH. In the class, there are pre-recorded lectures that help somewhat; however, MML covered different topics almost half the time. MML has horrible explanations. It might've been an easier had it been in-person.
All homework and tests on My Math Lab. Most homework assignments have around 30 questions. Tests are 80% of the grade. According to the syllabus, however, he will drop one test, one quiz, and 5 homework assignment grades at the end of the semester. Wouldn't take his course again because MML and honorlock are a PAIN.
All I can say is definitely take the extended (18 week) course if you can! This way you get more time to do work and take your time learning. There was videos posted but I wasn't a fan on how everything was already written out instead of going through the steps one by one so I had to teach myself everything. Replied to emails quick.
well the organization part of his class isn't the best and the videos he provided aren't detailed or very helpful. 7/10
I took his class online, there was alot of homework about 30 questions each but it was manageable and you're allowed to redo questions until you get a 100%. Everything is on MML. His notes were confusing at some points but MML helps to understand them. There were 5 online proctored tests and one final exam that is multiple choice. Not hard to pass.
