He knows very well of the text !
Great teacher, very helpful, and his daughters are HOT
Awesome!! very hard, but very good
Such an amazing professor!!
Easily the most magnificent professor I have ever had. And I have two advanced degrees! Richard is extremely sensitive to his student's needs, is an amazing communicator, and always gives his passionate best to each class.
some might call him a renaissance man, i call him richard. some might say he is special, i say smock. his wife makes some amazing bran muffins.
Great great teacher
loves to hear himself talk, very arrogant, does not actually teach the material only repeats what is in the book. Nice guy but his teaching style is to those who learn by listening
Lenet is a really funy teacher who know's what he is talking about. He ties his teaching into really stupid stories that make it hard to forget the information. Accounting in it's self is a hard class so alot of homework is required and he doesn't let you sluff off. Good luck with it.
His hand writing is very unclear! Be prepared to be cold called in the middle of class so don't come unprepared. Out of the 31 people who signed up for his class only 8 or so remained by the end of the semester. He is funny though.
The worst teacher EVER!!! Does not teach but wants you to take his exams. Very hard to follow. I think the previous nice things about him were written by him. DONOT ever take him. You will regret
eghh i took this class and all he did was make me fall asleep. i swear i learned more in the reviews than ever stepping in his class. not good at all
Best I've ever had! He cares about his students. Others do not stack up.
I definitely agree with yesterdays statement. Professor Lenet probably cares too much about the welfare of his students-- I talk to him by phone about five times a week at his home! He is fabulous.
He makes the hardest tests in accounting. Alot of students don't understand his teaching style. I had to drop his class and got a "w". Its mostly lecture and no help in visual aids if your the kind of person that likes to see the problem being solved instead of lecturing.
Professor Lenet is the best. He truly cares for his students, is very smart, and has unlimited energy. Great experience.
He has very high standards, but fair. His exampless make the subjects more real. Lenet is available to help you 24 hours a day. Probably the best I have ever had.
The hardest but the greatest I have ever had. I wish that he would teach every class I have because all the others don't really compare to Professor Lennet.
Do not be fooled by the positive reviews. He picks three favorites at each class and he is only nice to them; therefore they adore him. Yuck. He is mean and arrogant to the rest of the class, sometimes down right insulting. His lectures are very confusing; a waste of time. You learn more at home, reading your book.
If you do the required work, its a very rewarding experience-- I believe the best I have had in a class. But he expects a lot from you, so you better be prepared. Professor is very nice and cares for his students.
Prof. is the best and entertaining. When you leave his class, you know its worthwhile. Quite an experience.
Interesting person. Accounting is not nearly as borring as I thought. Real-life examples are funny.
I don't like his way of teaching at all. He is to much aggresive and not considarate
Professor Lenet is a very interesting character.. and that is an understatement. He does push you throughout the course, but he does keep it funny with his examples and silly jokes. He also curved our classes' test grades, which def. helps! Get ready to work hard for this class.. accounting is nowhere near easy.
great professor if you can handle the work load. it is comforting though that all of it is relevant and ever single question benefits you especialy during tests. has a good sense of humour and is very helpful if you know how to ask for it. if taking AC201, i would definately recommend him to all!!
just bad bad bad. can't teach at all. HARD tests. doesn't give partial credit on exams. Take talbot instead. DON'T TAKE HIM!
He's a great prof. for accounting. He teaches really well and is very helpful if you dont understand something. i would recommend him.
Difficult tests and great workload. No extra credit on exams. Although he liked humorous talks or actions in class, frankly they were not amusing.
I can barely understand his lectures. He gives alot of work and hard tests. And he grade very strict. Not recommended.
All accouting exams are given by the department so I couldn't say his test were hard, it's either you studied or you didn't. He gives alot of HW, but it does show up on the test so it's helpful and he gives alot of point for the HW. He's a bit boring but he teaches better than most accounting prof. at MC. I would recommmend him.
He's nice but he gets out of subject to much. He talks to much about other things than accounting. His tests are HARD! He gives writting assignments and he grades them harder than my english teacher. Take Talbot or Baick instead. They stay on the subject.
He is a great teacher. Explains work problems clearly and keeps the class interesting. the test are moderate-not that hard and considerate when grading exams
His exams are very.... hard.Would not recommend him at all.
Dont take his class. He reads from the book and is very arrogant. Gives very hard exams which he has not taught in class. Will not recommend him at all.
he is the best accounting teacher to have
Very high standards, but absolutly the best I've ever had. Others should be this great. Motivating and encouraging- he should train other teachers about teaching.
Too good to be true. Lenet is passionate about accounting and it rubs off. The students love him ebven though he is hard. You need more exactly like him.
Best professor in college so far. He expects a lot from students, but its a incomparable experience. Sign up quickly for his courses!
Prof. Lenet is sensational and simplifies a very hard subject. After I'm licensed as a CPA, my area of interest will definitely be taxes.
Excellent and down to earth. He pushes us to be the best we can be, but is sensitive to our needs and potential. Vey good motivator.
Really great!
He expect you to read the entire book by urself. his examples is class helps you to understand things in real life, but test will be entirly different. don't take him, cause you will loose your money and feel bad like i did.
Really excellent and caring. Very high standards but fair, He's available to help you all the time. MC is cool.
Best at MC. Passionate and demanding, but nice and fair. You will not regret it.
The best ever. Real hard, but you are happy at the end. Professor Lenet demands that the students are prepared, and it pays off if they are. Enjoy the experience.
The best ever. Tax is not so hard after all! I woulld highly recommend Richard.
Gross Over Expectations. speeds through difficult, important concepts. Little to no tolerance for those with Learning Disabilities. Labeled most difficult professor for Accounting in all Montgomery College
Funny and silly guy. Is very helpful and knowledgeable about Accounting. Likes to joke around a lot which makes the class fun.
Prof Lenet is an Outgoing prof who loves to joke around. When it comes to accounting he is a great teacher but expects you to DO THE WORK. Difficult Material but great teacher. Available anytime you need him.
High standards, but the best I have ever had. Prof. Lenet really makes you think through corporate finance decisions with a different mindset than my accounting studies assumed. Highly recommended.
The best possible. The others are pretenters. Richard Lenet is the model for them all!
Unusual professor with varied teaching techniques. Overbearing at first, but now my favorite. U are lucky to have him.
Professor Lenet is a GREAT teacher if you are willing to come to class prepared! He is hilarious at times to lower the stress of his students, but still manages to get his points across effectively. The people who say he is a bad professor are clearly the ones who don't do the work and are looking for an easy A!
Best ever. Quirky, peculiar, but you need to clone him. Really passionate and student-centered. A real pleasrue..
Unusual professor and quit fascinating. High standards but i am a better person because of it. Very highly recommended to all.
Although he had given good rating, I personaly don t recomend him. He is wasting most of the class time by joking around. If you want to learn this course by yourself take the class with him if not he is not the one.
Lenet is THE CONSUMMATE PROFESSOR. If you need inspiration to become a teacher, he's the man for the job. He is a renaissance man extremely knowledgable in history, literature, geography, and culture in addition to accounting and finance. Very funny (few understand most of his jokes). A TRUE GEM OF A PROF. I am honored and thankful for his teaching
Like some ppl said before he has 1 or 2 Fav students in his class and if you are not one of them , you are doomed. His classes are really confusing and if you ask him for help and he doesn't like you he pretty much won't help you and if he does it would be in a very aggressive and arrogant way. DON'T TAKE THIS CLASS WITH HIM
Fun teacher the first couple of days then his jokes get insanely repetitive. He has his favorites. If your not one then he doesnt pay you much attention. Harsh grader. Grade consists of 3 tests, each worth 25% of grade (tests are insanely hard),a online prgrm called wiley plus, attendance, and like 3 or 4 written assignments. VERY HARD CLASS
An OK professor, wished he spent more time actually teaching than telling stories and jokes, which happens for half the class period. The first time they're funny, but they get repetitive and annoying. If you can learn the materials outside of class and can stand repetitive jokes, take him, but if not, take someone else.
Tough and unusual professor, but the best I have had. Prepare the classes and he will reward you handsomely. He is always available to students unlike many others. Delightful sense of humor and really smart. Highly recommended.
The class lecture is mostly in your hands. Make sure you're ready to study prior to class because he doesn't go over the teachings in class much. He usually jokes around, like other people said, repeating jokes alot. He also goes over the homework for half of the class, which doesn't help out much. TOUGH CLASS
DO NOT TAKE HIS CLASS!!!! IMPOSSIBLE TO PASS!!!MORE THAN HALF OF THE CLASS DROP IT!!!
Not the usual A or B--you actually have to do some work for that. Professor Lenet is nice, smart, and always available to help. I have had 3 clases with him-easily the best.
This professor knows his subject. But he does a horrible job of explaining it. He expects you to teach yourself. His grading is unfair, no curve.1 A, 3 B's and the rest c's,D's ,F's out of 60 students. Out of 60 students, end of sememster has 20 students left. he fails at teaching.
He is unreasonably difficult, understands the subject matter, however lectures vs getting students involved. Ego too big, likes to hear himself talk. Expectations 9-11 hours a week of outside classroom studying, Then he throws 3 projects on top of that expectation. Unreasonable for a working parent who took the class at night.
Smart, nice, funny, motivating, and always available professor. The best I have had easily. Expect to work hard, you will so glad you did.
Prof. Lenet is a graet teacher and cares deeply for his students. Has some unusual approaches. His wonderful sense of humor motivates most students to work. He has very high standards unlike others so expect to work hard to earn your grade.
Excellent prof in every way. Student-centered, interesting, unusual personality, and smart. He grows on you and thankfully has high standards.
Accounting is not a easy class to begin with. He expects you to understand virtually everything. All lecture and very little student interaction. Very intelligent, well spoken, and outlandish at times. Expect to study HARD if you want a decent grade. I busted my ass over the summer and got a B.
Fast, tough class. But Prof. Lenet made it enjoyable. He is interesting and loves students with a great sense of humor. Highly recommended.
Prof. Lenet is probably the best professor that I could have for accounting. He teaches with real, easy to remember examples that are relatable. If you don't attend class, you will NOT do well because he gives hints about what will be on the tests. I highly recommend him for anyone who is willing to come to class everyday and is able to listen.
Unique personality and very smart. He is totally student-centered and available for help all the time. Standards are very high but my favorite class so far. Very highly recommended.
very hard teacher! do not take him if you will skip. wileyplus mandatory, and tests are word problems with a grid sheet. no labels, just a blank grid. be prepared to study A LOT if you take him.
Prof Lenet is a tax professional who has been teaching part-time for almost 30 years. Humorous and very student-centered. Always makes himself available outside of class. Difficult material, but well presented. He's a first-rate individual.
Best accounting class ever! Prof. Lenet is interesting, smart, funny, and student-centered. Very highly recommended.
Very high standards and a difficult, demanding class. But Mr. Lenet is a fantastic professor, down to earth and funny. He motivates you with personal life examples and encourages you to excel. Highly recommended for a great learning experience.
wrost one. wasting time there. He seems does not want to teach at all. and hard grade. His lecture is like chatting. teach you nothing.
do not wasting time here. after first day, you will see how many people still there. the class is not organized at all.
you have a lot of choice. do not wasting time and money here. worst one. not a teacher at all.
Do not go on his good review. I got duped...Not so helpful, question asked are not clearly answered. tough - expected too much from student & Students should not discuss their own.but...good practical knowledge, live examples
DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS WITH HIM! Even if u r a good student dont take the chance because he will dash away ur hopes and dreams. Over half my class dropped out and 4/5 of the remaining failed. U have been warned!
If you want to waste your time and money trying to pass accounting with this teacher, then go for it. He is extremely hard and expects you to know EVERYTHING in the book. about 70% of my class dropped out, due to his toughness. He gives out SO much homework. Its very overwhelming if your taking other classes.
10yrs ago, took his class, feel time wasted, 10 yrs later took his class, still feel learn nothing. he teach very fast, and couldn't elaborate the materials. work hard, please!
This professor is a loser, hes corney and his breath smells like ****
Very student centered--available all the time. Sets a high bar and is hard, but a high quality class. I really earned the B in the class. A little arrogant, but in a humorous way. Very highly recommended-- he is the best.
Great teacher and motivator and loves students. High standards and quality class. I will major in accounting because of him.
Professor Lenet is an educated man. Many will say it is a hard class with a lot of work, but if you want to be a looser than good Luck with that. The hard work pays off and as college students it?s should be obvious by now.He is helpful understanding and help in everything.Again it is hard classmaybe because accounting is hard but I feel that he is a
Professor Lenet is great!! He gives a lot homework and also requires writing so if you are lazy don't take him!! But if you want to learn and increase your critical thinking he is the man!!!
Professor Lenet is very hard understanding in his course. He doesn't encourage his students. He is so boring when he explains in class. He must be retired from college because he believes in favoritism, so he made us rejected because we are useless for him. please he has to be out of college and stop teaching acc to anyone.
Ethics papers assigned don't help you to pass tests, which are 75% of your grade. Alot of homework. He is very student oriented, but class is boring. Tests are made by dept. not teacher, so learn to teach yourself as much as you can at home, and use class to fill in the cracks. Don't expect to learn everything you need from class, study at home!!!
he should stop teaching accounting at mc because he is making tricks with his exams he doesn't love his students. he tried to feel the worst.
The subject is very difficult and the professor doesn't help with overviews or insights. Two exams are take home but tricky and difficult. Take 20-40 hrs to do.
he should be removed from this institution because he doesn't encourage his students in accounting. I thinks he needs to prepare his resignation letter because he doesn't love his students and his course.
Excellent teacher, motivator and communicator. great sense of humor with high standards. Professor Lenet is always helpful and available and totally student-centered. His tax practice experiences are very helpful to students. Highly recommended.
not a good professor
definetly, he is not a good professor
I don't know how the MC have such a low quality teacher with high IQ. Our school is misunderstanding. High IQ dose not notify that a person is good at teaching. In fact he can be really stupid at teaching. For the 1% of students who are really intelligence. Please don't because you are smart and pass his class saying he is a good teacher
not reliable professor
if you are taking his class, you are gonna fall down easily.
the worst professor from MC
really he is a bad professor.
incomphrensible
he is not the best professor
his sutends most dropped the class due to his terrible teaching style
sorry he should not teach accounting at mc
the worst professor in the MC
not a quality professor
not helpful in accounting
not a good recomendation for accounting
always bad professor
not recommended for fall semester
Looks like one disgruntled student in recent ratings. Prof. Lenet is the very best in every way.
he is not the best in every way because he doesn't encourage his students
i think he should not teach summer session II because it is not recommended limit of time
please do not take this class with him forever. he is not an easy grader in his course
i don't know what you guys are talking about. Prof Lenet was probably the best teacher i have had. he just takes Accounting seriously so he expects you to take it seriously. do your work and you will get a good grade.
he is not an easy grader in his course. You had better to chosse another professor
Excellent in every way.
he is not excellent in every way. No acceptable
Rigorous but excellent class. Professor expects a lot from students unlike some others. Totally student centered.
Summer class was soo fast but Prof. Lennet made it enjoyable and productive. He is hard and very good.
he doesn't know how to hwlp to any students with dificulties
He is an extremely hard grader who gives homework problems that are due before he finishes lecturing on a topic. His take home exams are ridiculous. They consits of 100+ multiple choice problems that require you to show the calculations or the law references.
he is not recommendated to take any accounting class
he is elemental in accounting classes
Motivating, excited, loves tax. totally student centered and cares. Makes a hard subject undertandable so that now I love it.
not acceptable
not comphrensive in hisn course. Also, no breaks at all
He can't incentive his student to focus on it
not convincent in his course
These past few reviews are clearly written by the same person (who probably did not do well in the course). Prof Lenet has been teaching for decades-- he is enthusiastic, available (you can call his home every day!), and yes, difficult. Do the work and you'll be rewarded. He's the best if you're actually interested in accounting.
Best I have ever had. But you need to do the work. Highly recommended.
Passionate, passionate about tax. My favorite class ever. Has high expectations, and its worth it.
Great teacher, loves students, and has high expectations for them. Unlike previous comment, the exams only took me 14 and 15.5 hours.
Excellent teacher with novel approaches. Recommended for the very god students.
he doesn't encourage his students to follow his course
Interesting
not interesting in his lectures
Professor Lenet is one of the most brilliant minds I have ever met. Some of the people don't understand that college is for serious people, so they only like to complain about professors. His accounting classes are pretty useful and his open mind and his humor give this class a unique environment designed for people that thinks outside the box.
he did not provide any encouragement to his students never prepare his class
he is not very incentive with his students. Also very confusing in his lectures
not very helpful in this semester
never take any accounting course with him
he is not provide extra hgelp in any topics of accounting
Very good professor overall. Do the homework and you will succeed. Don't expect to get a good grade if you seldom do the assignments. Don't be late, he finds this extremely rude and will let you know it. Take advantage of his availability. He will repeatedly tell you how he is available everyday on his phone or at a time of day in his office.
he is not very helpul at all
He is interesting, but not very helpful. There is no study guide for his class or not even a good guideline to go by with his assignments & exams. He will tell you that the exam is in an essay form, but it's not. Just answer the question and give as much detail of what you know. He's rude, but he'll say it in a joking form.
Worst Accounting professor ever! Doesn't even teach. If you MUST take him, you're out of luck. Use the book + wiley plus, but good luck. Bad teacher, LAME, and boring! Will put you to sleep! Cannot teach!
This class was difficult and a lot of work. I liked the teacher, felt that he made the subject interesting, has lots of personal experience so expert in the subject matter of taxes. He encourages you to call him at home with questions. Class participation is part of your grade, so use that to your advantage and be involved in class.
Terrible teacher! Tells us random stories about nonesense!!!!!AND has favorites, if he like u then u get an easy A if not good luck!
Lenet is passionate about tax but rude, unhelpful and makes this already difficult subject harder! Don't take him for Fed Tax if you can avoid it.
ok, I was dreading taking Accounting. But his passion for it really drew me in! He wants you to do well. He will be honest about the amount of work it REALLY takes. He teaches you how to study successfully! He puts things in perspective so well! If he sees you making a true effort, he will really work with you. I loved him & his class, who knew!?
Lenet is energetic and I learned a lot in 5 week class. HOWEVER, he assigns 3 hours of hw per night and is confused about why class isn't keeping up. Not good teaching simple mechanics. Assigns hard problems and assumes you are comfortable with simple principles. Overall, he isn't very effective. Shouldn't be teaching an intro class.
He's a nice and funny guy, but gives an insane amount of work. Wileyplus in addition to text book problems every chapter, but these are essential if you want to pass the course. Moves extremely fast because there is alot of material. One test he took points off even though i got the correct answer, i didn't do it right way, so hes a tough grader!
Prof. Lenet is terrible. You have to study yourself, his lectures it won't help. I did all my homework and failed my tests, so I had to drop the class. Again, you have to prepare chapters yourself!!! When you come to the class you suppose to know everything. If you don't have time to read the book for hours, then don't take him!
Prof Lenet is overall okay. He knows what he's doing & has a lot of experience in the field but SUPER tough grader. He does give you the tools you need to pass. He can be rude with his public comments and gets mad if you dont pass his tests. He wont answer ?s until after class. If you get him, get ready to read read and read.
If you have the book, read it. you will learn as much as you would come to class every time. there are tons of rules on Fed. tax, I can tell he is very clear on them. but none of students are, before or after the class. you may not fail, but you may not learn much either.
I don't recommend this class for whom are not ready for studying oneself and reading whole text book. Kind of waste time and money. It wasn't helpful for me at all. I'd better teach myself by taking online course.
Professor Lenet is extremely knowledgeable. His lectures tend to drag out and his dry sense of humor doesn't necessarily help matters. He offers his help outside of class but it's mostly over the phone and that has limited benefits. I had an okay experience in the class but I definitely will go with a different professor for Accounting 2.
Extremely knowledgeable, lectures tend to drag out. He offers help over the phone and that has limited benefits. Supper hard grader if mess up number on step 1 of a 9 step problem you get points off on every step.
Very knowledgeable and experienced. Expects you to know all abt the subjects and doesn't make sure you actually get the material. Hard and confusing, no mercy on tests.
He is a very smart accountant but he is a terrible teacher . He rambles during lectures and gives crazy hard exams. there are 3 exams and 2 ethics papers and the exams are worth 75% of your grade. He classes are flipped so expect to be teaching yourself the material and have your questions ready when you come to class. DONT TAKE THIS PROFESSOR.
Outstanding Professor. Accounting is a difficult subject and he takes the necessary time to go over the subject. He is very clear on what is expected and walks you through the concepts. There is a lot of work but in order to understand Accounting you must practice. Wish I had a teacher like Professor Lenet when I first took accounting.
This is the hardest have I ever take! It's not about the professor, but the subject!!! In order to be successful in this class, you will have to study HARD. I took acct 2 during summer which was only 5 weeks but it was a COMMITMENT! Prof Lenet is a very nice old man, he will do everything he can to help his students succeed. He is a good teacher.
He is fine, but some stuff need to be more clear so the class can do the homework correctly. Good Teacher just a tough grader.
Accounting calculation is so complicated. Here is what he does. He will flip over the PPTX and then as fast as possible flip over the pages. No one singe illustration on white board during his lecture throughout the semester. Amazing ... right
This professor do not teach really well because we supposed to learn the material but he expect the students that they already know everything what he is going to talk about. In addition, he do not motivate students to keep going in order to passed the class. Some times he is rude in what he says and it does not make sense. Don't Take him!!!!!!!!!
I personally did not like the way he teaches; he lectures A LOT. Most of the class is self-taught, so be prepared to read!!! The worst part is that he does not post grades on blackboard so you never know what your grade is until mid-terms and final grades.
Do yourself a favor and take another professor to have more chances of passing Accounting. He doesn't post grades so you don't know what exactly you have in the class except on the midterm &final exam. The tests are heavy. No matter how many times I studies I didn't get good grades. I even started hating accounting when I was so passionate about it
Lenet is a fine accountant. As a professor, he just really expects a lot out of his students and knows we have the potential but, it was pretty hard to focus during the lecture when all he did for the entire class was talk and talk. He is a very hard grader but often goes over all the answers.
If you are someone who doesn't have or make the time to do the work then you'll have a difficult time in this class. He sets very clear expectations & was always available for questions outside of class. On all assignments, including homework, show your work/thought process. If you don't want to do anything but show up then not the class for you,
Professor Lenet although very passionate about his subject has unrealistic expectations of his students and may need to re evaluate his standards if he is to be taken seriously.
Folks, I am preparing for the CPA exam and if so are you, dont take his class. Why? Because you are wasting your time, energy, and money. You dont get to learn anything from his class because he makes us read everything on our own. His exams are take homes but at this level, we want conceptual clarity not effortless exams.
Professor Lenet is an experienced teacher with a lot to offer and I would definitely recommend him. He has a true passion for both teaching and accounting. The class requires detailed notes of the textbook, online quizzes, a few in class quizzes, a small paper, and several big tests. Lenet is dedicated to his students and ensuring they succeed.
Accounting was one of the hardest classes I've ever taken it's like learning a whole other language but Professor Lenet was really helpful. The Wiley plus homework is so easy and he grades pretty fair. You really got to work for a passing grade I was doing poorly in the beginning but then I was putting in more effort and got a B as my final grade.
