This prof is really easy just write down everything he says and you dont even need to look in the textbook during the test. Midterm and a final both open book and open notes how easy can it get?

Good professor, very helpful and funny too. You have to know how to explain your answers, and he likes to have class conversation. Be prepared.

If you want an easy grade take his class. I had him for both Law and Society and the art of arguement. I think you only have four essays to do, but they are really short essays. All you have to do is come to class and listen. There are no tests whatsoever.

He is very biased politically and boy does it show. He should tone down left-wing rhetoric because other than that he's a great professor. I did not want to argue with him because its a business class not CNN/FOX. Unfortunately he wont be back at Berkeley, which is a shame. Tests are open notes/book but you have to attend and take notes to pass!

Professor Levenson is loud and clear, gives good examples that are easy to understand, and repeat, rephrase or explain further if you ask him to. TAKE NOTES, and you'll do fine, and you won't even need the book. Tests are open book and notes. BONUS: He has a great personality, and loves to talk.

If I would have to choose somebody to be stranded on a deserted island with, I would choose Professor Levenson, since it would take years before he would run out of things to talk about (and I would become very knowledgeable). Loved the class, excellent professor.

Prof Leavenson is very passionate about teaching. He wants to pass on as much knowledge as he can. He is funny and sarcastic, but knows more than any Prof I ever taken at Berkeley. His exams are open book/open notes, but they are not easy. I would definitely recommend him and this class. Be prepared for HEAVY note taking!

For the Law & Society class : he gives a grace period for lateness. No text book needed. Mostly reading on your own but he explains it clearly in class. Doesn't like to fail people. No quizzes or tests, only essays and a final open book essay. He loves to teach and is really energized in the morning.

Levenson is one of my favorite professors. It's fairly easy to get a good grade if you take notes and pay attention to his lectures. He is fair, very knowledgeable about this subject and likes teaching it, which makes it interesting. Sidetracks a little too much with history lessons that have little to do with what you are talking about.

Not much to add that haven't already been said, except, I actually appreciated most of the history lessons and segways.

An interesting professor that a lways has something to say, professor Levenson keeps your interest through funny side stories while hitting the real topic as well. The extra history pieces are a bonus. Since we studied. Art of the Argument, I would like to say the I can successfully analyze something and come up with a good argument based on logic.

When I started this class I really thought it was going to be easy since I love to argue with people. I quickly learned it was more then I bargained for. His class was hard but very interesting and extremely fun. I don't think I have ever been challenged like the way he made us think outside the box. I really hope to have him again as my professor.

You Will Learn a lot - Really. I learned a ton about some very important historical cases. I got to see carefully how each party delivered their arguments and came to understand the basis on which the Supreme Court made its decision

Professor Levenson is very easy to understand and makes you feel comfortable about asking questions even when you think your question is dumb. He has good communication with student mostly involves good/bad jokes. I'd take his class again if i had a chance because he is clear, fun and very fair.

Do the reading, be prepared for discussion because participation counts. Do the assignments which as long as you attend class and take notes are pretty easy to do. If you need help, ask for it. He will do anything to help you. You can decide to miss class but it is your lost. In every lecture there is something helpful for your assignments.

He has a way of delivering a lecture that feels like you can see it all visually. There was so much detail and I can honestly say the entire class looked interested. He's very understanding and you can go to him with any issues regarding the class. He gives the best feedback and only gives you the grade you earned.

Professor Levenson is funny and has a great grasp of the material he teaches. The lectures are key to understanding everything, and he is really straight-forward. Classes run full length but seem shorter with his jokes. Textbook is really secondary to the class material. He also has great respect for students and is very accessible for questions.

The law subject can be a little dry. However, with the professor lectures, it is easy to bear through the class. He will take walk you through the subject with clarity and assertive. However, if you do not take organize notes, and you miss class the effort you will encounter to pass the class will be higher, Therefore, go to class, take notes.

He made each lecture unique and interesting to the fullest. I especially enjoyed the historical context that was infused in the curriculum, which gave his lectures an added layer. It was a great pleasure taking Prof Levenson's class. A subject that can be found easily intimidating if not a criminal justice was taught with clarity. It was really great experience that I took this class. Professor's explanation was very clear and he helps a lot. In addition, do not miss the class. When you didn't take your notes clearly, it will be hard to take a class. BUT if you took you notes perfect, than your grade will be perfect! Don't miss the class.

I recommend this professor! There are only two open book test the whole course, no assignments or papers, and gives extra points for students who show improvement. You must come to class everyday, because you need your class notes in order to pass the test, in which are open book. Professor Levenson's lectures are unlike most other professors - as he engages the students with his own experience in the subject rather than read off from a power-point (he also includes hilarious stories/opera singing). Note taking is crucial, as he alerts you on what may be on the exam during his lecture. Overall, he's an incredible professor.

Professor Levenson is very knowledgable and was able to give lectures on topics from the textbook without reading from the book. When my grandfather got sick, it greatly affected my performance in class, he was very understanding and gave me an opportunity to makeup what I missed. Each lecture of his is made up of important information, real-life situations, and jokes that keep the class engaged. He would occasionally give short stories to better get the idea of the subject across; the stories are interesting bit of trivia, so they aren't easily forgettable. He is also very understanding of the learning process and will aid if he can tell you're not comprehending the curriculum.
