Good teacher, tests moderately hard, if you study and go to lectures class you'll do fine, offers 10pts extra credit, grade scale may seem easy but it is harder then you think, kinda ****ed during lectures keeps people interested, really funny

He Lectures the entire time, but lectures can be interesting and fun to listen to. You must go to class to get a decent grade since 1/2 of the test questions are from the lecture. Tests are hard, but if you study and read you should be fine.

Dr. Lippa is fairly easy. It is really up to you to excel in his class. The tests are on the reading and lectures, so you must attend the class and read the chapters weekly to do good. He helps when you need it.

Loves to talk about sex, but extremely fair and supportive of students. Also, extremely intellegent in the field of psychology

Stanford graduate,so the guy is definately not ignorant in the field & not easy.So you MUST attend class and read,read,read.If not,then you'll be among the 40-50% of the class that fails the class.He gives 4 tests,1 extra credit,& 1 paper.No homework.

Very clear as to what he wants. You have to attend every class and read what he asks to get an A, but it is possible. Smart guy, very funny and sarcastic!

ok this guy tries to be funny with sex talk which is interesting at time....so there was a lot of pity laugh. I think he was a good professor because he informs you exactly what he wants from you.

I'm SO glad that this was only my intro class, because I'm majoring in psychology. It was boring, and you do have to come to class to get everything, and he's a fair tester (except a few questions). He does talk about sex a lot, which got kind of annoying after a while.

He’s condescending. He loves using sex for examples. You must go to his lectures cuz ½ of test are question from his lectures in class. Just go on his website and print out study guides (reading and lecture), test by test, and slowly know the answers to all of them. You’ll pass if you do that. So Read, show up,& definitely go over the study notes.

This was and easy A. You just have to read the chapters and take good notes, but his lectures follow the book pretty close, so it's all good. don't miss class, take good notes, read and you'll get an A. Scantron tests no essay.

Okay...He is pretty hard, but not impossible. I got an A, but I worked for it. All you have to do is go to class, print out his lecture notes & the in-class questions (which you answer while he's lecturing, SO easy), & do the study guides (which take a while, but you can print them out at any time so start early on). Just go over those things & you'll be fine. You don't REALLY need to read the book (he thinks you do). Everything you need is on his website. It's not THAT bad...

Okay, yeah, he talks about sex sometimes, but sex is the only reference he uses that everyone remembers, and he knows that. His tests are hard, granted, but if you pay attention in his class, and write down his concrete examples, read the definitions in the book a few times, you're good. He doesn't try to throw you off, it's just a lot of information to cover. He's clear, tells you what he expects, and you have fair warning. It's a college class.

Hard tests, boring lecture, talks about sex all the time. Annoying class. Take psychology from someone else, i was very interested in taking this class, but now regret it.

Yes, the class is very hard, but it is not impossible. Pay attention to the examples he gives, they tend to show up on the tests. His study guide is somewhat useless, it's just every key term in the book. Just know the def. to the key terms and you will do fine. Yes, he throws in sex comments when he thinks the class isn't listening. Great Class!

talks about sex to get your attention. he puts his lecture notes online so you can print them and just add stuff during lecture. to pass you have to read the book and go to class and pay attention cuz he gives examples that will be on the test. 4 mc tests with questions from book and lectures. 1 paper that was lame but easy

I am not a stupid person, and he makes me feel like an idiot. Be prepared for him to give you a lecture about how 50% of the class will fail the first exam. Definitely attend class, review his lecture notes, and read the assigned chapters and you MIGHT do okay. Just be thick-skinned when you walk in his class and be prepared to study for exams.

He is a tough professor if you don't go to class or read the book. If you show up, take notes on his lectures which he outlines for you, you listen to his sarcastic remarks and take note of them, you will do fine. 50% tests based on book 50% on lectures. Writing assignment was easy if you just do it. I got an A+ w/out taxing my brain, just study.

He is a good professor, but his class IS challenging if you are not used to a lot of reading. His class is simple if you do follow his reading schedule, attend class, and study his materials that he provides on blackboard. He is funny, and his lectures are interesting.

i liked this professor alot. he was very helpful and gave tons of examples so students would understand. tests were fair. everything was straight out of the book or from his lecture outlines. lectures were interesting because he was very animated and like to talk alot about sex. hahah. good class take it with him.

Lippa's class was challenging, but it was totally manageable! I never missed class, I read all the chapters, & I wrote a pretty good paper. I ended up getting an A+ in the class. I actually learned a whole lot!

Great Professor! Attendance is highly recommended but not mandatory. Grades are based on your exams (which are based on lectures and the book). He gives many examples during his lectures, which are usually interesting and funny. The book isn't bad either. It's pretty light weight and small compared to many other textbooks-and it's only about $30!

This professor was good. He is a little monotone but he gives lots of sex examples so it makes the class funny. He almost always has everyone laughing. I would not say this is an easy A. I studied for all four tests and got a C on each. Over one third of the class fails each test. He is a hard grader but he really knows his stuff.

As much as he says he doesn't like to talk about sex on purpose, he does, but it does help make it more interesting. He wants to challenge you a little with his class, but as long as you go to class and study some, you'll do fine. He's willing to help if you have questions.

Good professor. Lectures are clear and gives plenty of examples. study guides are very helpful for exams. just go to lecture and do the study guides and you should pass.

Every example is about sex.He makes lectures entertaining, despite how he just talks for an hour straight. No homework. One essay but it was a biography (easy). You have to participate in research studies (5 hours easy). Tests are easy if you read the book. I took a psych class in high school, so this was a cake walk for me. Go to class it helps

These reviews saying this class was hard is crazy. This is one of the easiest classes I took. I slept during most of his lectures and still got a high grade. All you have to do is read the book and the lecture notes, and you will be fine. EASY class. He is pretty funny at times too.

Alot of his lessons do relate to sex, but he's a very good teacher and will help you out with anything questions you have. Exams do require alot of studying and reading but that is what college is about. He tries to scare students saying most will fail, but if you read and study and attend class, you will most likely get an A or B

I enjoyed this class because it was challenging. He is definitely passionate about psychology. The class consists of lecture and is not easy. Just print out everything he asks for, and definitely study. No homework, just 3 tests and 1 essay. Tests are not curved, but the class grades are. 80% is an A-. Great for psych majors.

He was great, all you have to do is read and take notes when you go to class. Just listen to his lectures, he uses sex, but not in a ****ed way. I am glad I took his class, now I am minoring in psychology. And well the paper was somewhat difficult but I got an A in the class anyway.

I will admit this class is hard. You will have to attend class to get a good grade, but honestly, his class is amazing. I learned so much from him. I never read the book and got a C. He was on the tyra banks show. He is really passionate about psychologgy and is extremely intelligent. Take this class if you want to learn. Best class I took so far.

Lectures were interesting but the overhead slides became slightly boring compared to a powerpoint. Challenging class! If you want an A then you have to be willing to study for the tests and attend class regularly since half of the test questions are only covered in lecture.

Such a wonderful and knowledgeable professor. his class is not easy. you will have to attend class and scrutinize the textbook and study overtime but you will learn so much. his personality is a little dry and he expects a lot but he knows what he is doing and i appreciated his teaching style at the end because i learned a lot.

Not too hard of a class, especially after everyone I've spoken to said it was crazy difficult. The lectures, although a little tedious sometimes, are actually pretty interesting. Didn't like the 0 interaction with peers or how his papers are graded more on grammar than content. But overall, a great professor!

I highly recommend Professor Lippa. Attendance is not mandatory but will help you on the tests. Tests are on class lecture and the book. The book he uses is short and easy to understand. He has an incredibly fair grading curve. He always offers his time for office hours. He earned his Ph.D from Stanford University. I highly recommend this teacher.

Tough, but fair. His exams are straightforward, but you have to put the work in to do well on them. Psych majors-> definitely take him, you'll learn a ton! Non-psych majors-> don't take him, it's not an easy A

Best professor I had. The assignments are easy and always read the book that he assigns you. His lectures are pretty funny and intriguing and make sure you take notes. He got me interested in Psychology and I recommend him to anyone who's a Psychology major.

This is a very tough and detailed class, but doable if you are willing to put in the work. Go to class every day and take notes on everything; it WILL be on the test. Actually read the book sometime before the exams, it will really help! He offers lots of extra credit. The essay is easy and he helps you out. He at least tries to keep the class fun.

Honestly if you're lazy, don't take his professor. But if you are really interested in psych, then I would defiantly recommend him! He is really knowledgable on the subject and his lectures keep you intrigued and wanting to learn more. He really isn't that hard if you just read the book and pay attention in class.

This is a challenging course and Lippa is the epitome of a university professor. If you are not up for a load of studying and work, do not take this class. If you love Psych, take him because he truly knows his facts. The hard part about him is that his tests are based on the book and his lectures - Half and half.

You will fail all exams if you do not attend class or read the textbook regularly and religiously. 4-10 hrs of studying is suggested per exam. Lippa is an engaging teacher, well-versed and is clear about what materials are covered for each exam. Take this course if you have a genuine interest in Psych, not if you simply want to fulfill GE credits.

If you are taking this course to fulfill a GE, I would not suggest taking this class with him. Unless, you are a Psych major, or hold great interest for the subject. I honestly loved taking this course with Lippa. His lectures are so intriguing. You will definitely learn a lot in this class...but, you WILL have to study your ass off.

I thought Professor Lippa was a good teacher. His tests are not even that hard, only hard if you dont read the book. Read the book and attend class and you should pass. He also grades us. So a D is a C in his class.

Great class. Very clear and helpfull. IF you ask questions he will answer them in depth. It's a college class . Nor for any one expecting a breeze or an easy A . The test require you to attend and read but are mega straight forward. He grades on a ten % curve to top it off. Any one failing his class clearly never showed up or read. One paper 3 test

He's honestly the most entertaining professor I've had in a while. He makes the lectures interesting and funny; he always ties sex with his lectures and you can't really forget about those kinds of topics. Take good notes and actually READ the book and you will pass :)

Most people find him boring but I thought he was highly entertaining. Hilarious, he's funny just because he's old and is so into what he talks about that he literally walks around the room waving his arms and yelling, haha. I already took psychology in high school so I already knew most of the material, but he's very knowledgable about psychology.

Lippa is a good professor but does make you work harder than you should for a Psyc 101 class. His lectures are very interesting which makes the time fly. Good professor overall, you just need to show the effort.

Professor Lippa is honestly an awesome professor! Just like any other class in college you would have to put effort and time into the class. Ok I honestly dont know why everyone is giving him a bad rating, this class is super easy if you just show up, pay attention, and read the textbook. He makes his lectures interesting and there is only one other assignment other than the 3 tests you take, which is a photo essay about YOURSELF!! Lippa is awesome

Attendance isn't mandatory but his tests cover his lectures so if you want to do well on the test go to the lectures. Also, READ. If you don't read you will not pass the tests because about 70% of the material is on the book and he might not cover some chapters in class. No quizzes and just 1 paper

Really informative and great examples during lectures. Attendance isn't mandatory but it helps to attend. Textbook is required and you should read it. Grade is made up of two exams, one final, and one photo essay. You also have to participate in researches to earn credit to pass. Not an easy class but not hard either. It's like an AP class.

MUST read the psych book to do well in exams, lots of things he does not cover. He puts questions on the exams that you would only know if you show up to class, really specific things he mentions. Nice guy, easy to talk to, humorous from time to time. Lectures are slow.

He's a great professor! The level he teaches would be like those teachers from AP classes. You need to read the chapters because some stuff is briefly mentioned during lecture if he doesn't have time. Although attendance isn't mandatory, it's helpful. IF YOU CAN'T STUDY TO SAVE YOUR LIFE THIS CLASS WILL BE DIFFICULT. However, if you take the time to study, show up to class, and memorize the vocab you should do pretty good. The class isn't hard, but his lectures are long but very informational. He loves to talk about sex, and drugs in his lectures, so it was pretty enjoyable. Good luck!
