harsh and discriminate grading, lecture is unclear. terrible answering questions

Professor Lord is a hard grader. His lectures are confusing as well. Do not take him if you want an A in that class. Unless you already have finc. experience elsewhere, don't take him!!!

It is extremely difficult to understand the topic as he teaches it. I am employed in this field of business, and I did not even understand his teachings. It is impossible to get an A in his class, and near impossible to get even a B.

professor lord is by far the worst teacher i have ever had. do NOT, i repeat, do NOT ever take him. he takes points off quizzes just cause he doesnt like your answer.he doesnt teach, he just expects u to know things, and its an intro class! its nearly impossible to get an A, so if u insist on taking him, get ready to teach yourself!

Difficult, Unhelpful, Careless. Get ready for homework every week, board notes you can't understand, and 3 exams broken up in 2 parts taken over 2 days because they are so long. Also come in early and stay late on exam days because he always puts things that weren't covered. Unless you don't have a job, take someone else.

Grading is very subjective. You teach yourself off of his handouts, which are full of typos. Must dedicate all your time to this class. Notice that the students who like him spell "a lot" as one word...

Lord assigns homework every week , grading is nitpicking. Exams are not similar to homework assignments. A lot of busy work unnecessary hard graders.. At times his lecture are hard to follow, goes of at a tangent. Not a lot of help during his office hours, he brushes you off. Do not recommend him

Richard Lord, or as he more famously known, the gate keeper. This man is the deciding factor when it comes to graduating. Nice enough in class but that all goes out the window when hes grading. Known for failing students and not just 1-2 more like 7-8+ a semester. You will have to teach yourself in his class. His class is a real life hunger games.

This professor resembles the phrase, "Those who can, do, and those who can't do, teach". He knows his material very well, however lacks the aptitude for teaching. He reads off of slides and purely lectures for the entire class period. His grading scale is ridiculous, as when faced with points off on a homework assignment, he had no reasoning.

DO EVERYTHING IN YOUR POWER TO HAVE A DIFFERENT PROFESSOR. I know sometimes you dont have a choice when picking classes especially with the core but honestly you would be better off taking the semester off and taking the core next semester. He wants you to fail purposely makes problems extremely difficult to the point that he doesnt even understand

I understood Finance more before I took this class... one of the worst teachers I've ever had

He was extremely rude when we he asked for feedback on how to improve the first quiz. He wasn't listening to anyone's opinion and thought he was right all along. He also shoved a paper in my face to make a point when I had a question about the homework/project that was assigned.

He never responds to emails but besides that, he also questioned my class's intelligence by asking us if we were smart enough to be in this course. He's not compassionate at all, which I don't always expect out of my professors, but he really doesn't care if we do well or about who we are. He shows up, "teaches," and vaguely answers our questions

Asks class if we want to review for test, class asks questions, he goes "well I could could over that but I don't want to - moving onto the next chapter". Then wonders why the class got a 45% average on the first test. - 0/10 would take him again.

It should say a lot by how many people rated him THE SECOND MONTH in the semester. Get ready to teach yourself or get a tutor because he is the worst professor I've ever had. The class average on the first exam was an F, homework average an F. There are extremely bright students in this class. We are not the problem, he is. DO NOT TAKE HIM!!!!

Within the first half of the semester, all but 4 students in our class failed the first exam, then he called us morons and refused to listen to feedback about it. In addition, half of the class failed the excel spreadsheet homework he gives, IN ADDITION to the 2 or 3 Connect assignments we get each day. Let me put it simply: Do. Not. Take. Him.

He teaches as if weve known the material for years and talks down to his students if they dont get it. For example, while going over one of the questions on the exam he said, for the people who didnt get this right you should honestly be embarrassed. If hes your only option for a professor youre better off waiting until next semester.

You might as well, just study and do it all on your own. Only show up for the exams. It's awful. Maybe take a vacation, start a business, do anything else but take this professor. It's pretty much a death wish. Good luck to everyone who has to take this class.

Really bad. Only students that pass exams are the ones that get lucky enough to get seats in the back so that they can use their phones during exams. Worst teacher/ professor I have ever had. DId not learn anything. Waste of money.

I could write pages about the many things wrong with this professor. This class/professor caused serious damage to my mental health. Arrogant, disrespectful, rude, unorganized, insensitive, pretentious, obnoxious person I have ever met. Students reported him, school does not care. Listening to him "teach" each class is unbearable and depressing.

Even he has no idea what he is talking about. DO NOT TAKE HIM. We ask him "what's on the exam" and he goes "I don't know" meanwhile the test is the next class. He has no sympathy or bone in his body that actually cares about his students. If this guy is your only option try and get a permit to take at a different time or professor, trust me.

You could not find a worse professor/person even if you were trying your hardest. Looking for the worst professor in the school? Look no more, you have found him. Richard Lord teaches as everyone is an expert in his field. His instructions are terribly unclear. He is a terrible person and does not care about your success.

Just avoid him at all costs if you can.

He drew a bell curve on the board and said if you all receive a 75 then he has "done his job." Professor Lord puts in minimal effort teaching his class and or preparing students for exams. Take any other finance teacher. He is not a good representation of what Montclairs Business School has to offer. Avoid this professor however you can.

Horrible class. This man gives out tests on lockdown browser, no resources (unlike other professors who allow you to use notes. And it's bad enough he doesn't teach anything, he scribbles on the board for 2 hours. Homework was just reading on connect and then answer questions on that reading. He's just a horrible person. Get ready to teach urself.

He knows what he is doing but cannot seem to pass any understanding along to his students. Teaches as though we have all been doing accounting and finance for years. Homework every week(1.5-2 hours average) and you use it to teach yourself. Avoid him at all costs. One of the most disappointing professors i've encountered.

Worst professor I have ever had in my life. His tests are extremely difficult (class average 40 or below on every exam) and he is a bad teacher. He doesn't know how to teach and will ruin your semester. If you can switch your professor, do it. If not, good luck.

To be fair, this is a tough corse to teach but Richard Lord is not up for the challenge. If you were expecting a Professor that answers emails, engages with the class, does reviews before exams, or does anything else that some may consider the bare minimum, you could not be more wrong. Although a decent person, this man couldn't teach fish to swim.

He is a horrible professor. Avoid at all costs and save your money. Montclair State University did not help anyone in our class report this man for how bad we did on the tests. School and professor just care about our money.

Lord is tenure, university cannot fire him, it doesn't matter how horrible he is, he just like to collect his paycheck and forget why he is being paid, to teach us, it is not fair to students, they should get ride of tenure system.

If this were the first professor I encountered at any university, I would be traumatized for life. This, dare I say, "man," is a poor example of a human being, let alone a professor. I never received a lower than "B," and gave me an "F" without reason. I emailed him, he sent me a "screenshot" of an excel sheet as justification. DO NOT TAKE HIM!!!!!

Gonna fail. Never ever failed a class but here we are. Listen to these reviews, I did not and look where we are. Get out of this class.

Do not take this man at any cost if for some reason you get him switch classes immediately. Any professor would better then him he will fail you for fun and doesn't care that you just spent your money on this course.

I hate to say something mean about any professor.. but he is the worst professor I have ever had. I am a straight A student and I finished with a C+ after a heavy curve. Almost the entire class was failing so he had to curve so the entire class would not fail. I even got a tutor and it did not help. Terrible for anyones mental health.

Do not take him. he really does not care. he's not the worst but his class is not easy to pass, and he knows and likes it that way. any other professor would be a better alternative to this one. I'm a Finance major and I don't know how but I'm going to try my best to avoid taking him till I graduate.

He just talks for the entirety of the class and can barely be understood. He belittles students and when you ask for clarification he snaps that he already explained the information

Just take a different class next semester. stay far from Richard lord. he is not a lord, he is mean, a bad teacher, and just not someone you want to spend your time with. only take this class if you don't care about your GPA. Also if you do plan to take this class, you will just have to teach yourself.

This professor did not take any feedback from students. He taught for every second he could but I still had to go and teach myself the material. The class test averages were about a 30%, which he was proud of, and that says A LOT about him. Overall, if you can, skip this professor and take the integrated classes another time.

Got an A, but man his class was hard. I really had to study for his tests for hours the day before. The test average was in the 40s for every test this semester. He doesn't care about his students so I would just stay far from lord. He was also really rude to me in class and just wouldn't answer my questions.

A very hard class and not easy to understand. The tests are on lockdown in class and are very hard. Many students studied and still failed and majority of the class is failing.

Sadly he is the only professor for this class, so the best advice I have is to pray. Everyone does horrible on his group hw assignments, and he does nothing about it. His exams also are very hard, the class avg for the final was a 47 and for the midterm it was like a 55. He thinks you should know everything and does not do much to help the class.

The worst instructor I've ever had. Very knowledgeable in the material but has 0 ability to teach. Useless lectures and tests with material you've never seen and is nothing like the HW. Rude and needlessly harsh with grading. AVOID at all costs, take a different professor. You wont be miserable and you might actually learn something

He grades very harshly and I can not understand his handwriting.

Absolutely HORRIBLE. He is very knowledgeable but does a horrific job at explaining it to students. This is the only class I almost failed in my 4 years here and it was fully his lack of ability in supporting his students. Literally would rather die than take his class again.

Keeps saying "Everybody happy?" after explaining something that the entire class doesn't understand and then he moves on (no one is happy, we are failing the class sir). Tests are hard and trying to understand him teach is even harder. Only professor who teaches this class so good luck.

Professor is completely out of touch with the class. Lectures are rushed, unstructured, and confusing, with no student interaction. He jumps between topics and uses overly advanced examples that make new material harder to grasp. Despite my 3.94 GPA, this is the first class where I truly feel lost.

I took his class four years ago, I just wanted to come back to emphasize how bad his class was. The whole entire class besides maybe like three students were failing his course so at the end of the semester he had to curve everybody's grade to passing. If your entire class is failing, you clearly doing something wrong.
