A bit over the top, but worth taking.

This guy is hilarious, but more often than not, you'll be laughing AT him and not with him. Sad to say, but true. I love the guy because he talked about WWF Wrestling once. Class is easy enough... you don't even have to attend lectures.

Like he said in class, he sets the bar to get an A, way too low that you can't go under it!

Dr. Lowy is a very nice and generous guy when it comes to grades (God i love how he wants everyone to get an A). As for the negatives, he tries to get to the point, but more often, he doesn't because of his dumb jokes that make people sleep.

I am not afraid to say that I LOVE Dr Lowy! He gives out such easy A's and cusses out the class sometimes. One bad thing, if you go to his office hours, plan on leaving 2 or 3 hours later. He will keep you in there like there's no tomorrow!

He is a very good teacher. I learned alot from his lectures and he is (sometimes) funny!

Genuinely a nice, kind-hearted individual. Doesnt really teach, just dictates answers. Read the course material if you want to learn, but you can avoid it and still get the A. Understand your TA's grading style as well.

He's so cool. Lectures are fun. He's funny. Learned a lot from his class. Easy A.

Just go to Discssion. This guy is a nut, but the course is super easy. You will not the believe the sh*t that comes out of this guy's mouth. I suggest getting the books.

Professor's easy-going and helpful... grading depends all on TA's but write decent papers and the class will be a breeze

This class is a must take. Like everyone says, it's an easy A. Try not to get Jose Lopez as a TA. He's so unprofessional and lazy.

funny class, easy A GPA "booster", interesting lectures and it relates to the world around us,come to lectures, because the midterm and final asks questions straight out from lecture notes and that's where the answers are located.

Prepare yourself for the worst jokes ever...and his singing isn't all that good either. However, he's a good prof who tries to help you understand his material. Quite liberal, so conservatives, watch out.

The man is nuts!!! Easy assignments, easy papers, but eccentric lectures. The trick is to not let him get to you when he says something you disagree with, but if you disagree with him on something, write it in your paper and make him think that maybe your view is valid. Gives you brownie points.

Lowy is awesome. Kind man with funny and interesting lectures. The mans full of jokes. It is not all that hard to get an A in his class - if you take notes in lecture and do all the readings. You do need to take notes in lecture because they are VERY important in his take home midterm and final.

He never gets to finish his lecture because he talks a lot but at times he crack a racial joke which breaks the ice. never went to class or read but still got an A. go to disc because it's your key to getting an A.

This class is an absolute easy A because Lowy pretty much wants us to get As. He posted all the notes online and tells you pretty much what to write on your essays and finals. It's great. Cracks a LOT of racial jokes but we all know it's just for fun and laughs. Take this class if u need a gpa boost.

VERY GOOD COURSE AND VERY GOOD CLASS!!

Barely showed up to class and got an A. All you gotta do is say white people are evil! Bam, A+++! His TA's got some nice T&A too..

He is brillant!!! If you go to lecture you will realize how brillant this Dr.Lowe is! Everything he says makes sense and is always relative to the class materials.

Fun class. Dr. Lowy wants his students to learn about the****ty truth about whats going on in this country. He is brilliant.

Dr. L to the O is sweet. Don't even have to go to class, even though that is all he wants u do to. Only two papers, automatic A's on both. If you don't get an A, drop out now, I repeat, DROP OUT NOW, you have no chance in college.

I have to admitt this class was easy. All you had to do was write 2 essays which was graded fairly. Everyone got A's and B's. No final. Most of the time you watch videos, pretty laid back.

One of the easiest classes ever. If u write both essays, guaranteed at least a B. If u write both essays well, A+ without a doubt. Lowy is a cool guy, a lil kooky, but chill nonetheless.

By far the easiest class offered at UCR. He's a really nice man, and you'll more than likely get an A...and if you don't, you shouldn't be at a university.

Great professor. Very caring, very empathetic, very understanding. Fun class, if you apply yourself. Good times. :-D

Going to lecture was a waste of time. He is so boring. The class is easy but it is painful to be in.

Lowy is a great person. He tries really hard to get the students' interest, but I don't think it helps when he just reads off his lecture off notes. I go to class in order to get some help out of my essay but it doesn't help. Overall, his lectures may be a bit obscure, his personality in class makes it worthwhile.

I've taken 2 of his classes and I've come out learning something new both times. His class is easy and relaxed. My only complaint is that he is very LIBERAL/LEFTIST and it shows (badly)! He also uses quite a bit of foul language (which is kind of funny though inappropriate) when teaching.

He is really easy and funny! If you do everything he tells you to do, you are guranteed to get an A in that class!!Don't forget! you need to love Mr. Bear in order to get that A!

If you need to take this class to get it out of the way or are a humanities major, you definitely need to take Dr. Low & Slow! He's very easy on giving the whole class A's if he sees people attending the lectures. Be sure to raise your hand if he asks you if you love Mr. Bear! Seriously, it's like having a stand-up comic for a professor!

BEST PROFESSOR EVER!!! HE MAKES LECTURES REALLY INTERESTING. MAKE SURE YOU GO TO CLASS BECAUSE HE PRETTY MUCH LOOKS AT HOW MANY PEOPLE SHOW UP TO CLASS AND DEPENDING ON THAT, HE GIVES EVERYONE AN A!!!

Professor Lowy makes this ethnic studies course very easy to follow and he actually makes you want to learn the material with his enthusiastic teaching environment! The papers that are required for this class are very laidback since you get to choose your topics. Remember to love his book and MR. BEAR!!! :) It's an easy "A" class.

Professor Lowy makes this course engaging, interesting and though provocative. Which is hard to do since the content is focussed on race and ethnicity as it is one of those bs UC courses you have to take to grad. Great lectures. Great prof. Really there for the students. Thanks Dr. Lowy!

he's a really nice guy, but the Ta i had was extremely lazy. this class was really easy.

What an easy at least B+ to A+ class. All you have to do is just love Mr. Bear and get an automatic A on the final. You just have to work on two papers. That's all. Very easy going professor too~

Easy A, if you do well on the first midterm,you will get A in the class. I got ful point on the second exams and final. easy! highly recommend AAAAA

Very easy, especially if you have April as your TA. We spent 70% of the time watching films, and the rest we just chilled in class. If you get lower than a B for Lowy's, you should not be in college.

he doesn't require a lot of reading, except for the final and midterm. ta's are chill. attend class or he will make the midterm questions harder. but bring something to class to keep you busy.

His standards are unbelievably low. O_o I once remembered talking to him in office hours and he told me that he didn't want to stress out anybody. He is very understanding. I just got my first A in college.

He is very easy, however he does give long papers. the amount of pages for three essays were: seven, nine, and three. it was long, but it ended paying off. plus he offers extra credit. definitely an easy A if u do the work. hardly any reading. dont need to go to lecture but i did go quite a bit and i learned! my favorite class so far. he is nice

Easy A. Got to watch movies every morning, learned about racism, genocide and stupidity all in one day. Great class.

The EASIEST class you will ever take. 1 MT plus honors supplemental midterm, 1 term paper, & final paper. Essays are cake, he sets up your whole paper with the prompt. LOVE MR. BEAR & you will be set for the whole qtr. TAKE HIM!!! If you get below a B in his class you should not be in college. Shows movies instead of lecturing. GREAT & way EASY!!!

This class is the easiest class you will ever take! Grade is based on a midterm, term paper, and final. The final and midterm are take home papers!!! do good on the two papers and your set!! I never attended lecture and got an A!!

I have to admit Dr. Lowy's class is an easy "A", however to get it you must write two long paper assignments + a final. The key to his class is to just LOVE Mr. Bear and to attend discussion section regularly. You will also be watching a couple of movies and your T.A will grade ALL of your assignments.

LOVE MR. BEAR. The final, there is no way you can't get an A. So just do well on the midterm paper and the term paper. Prof. Lowy is extremely nice... oh, and laugh at his joke!

Best professor ever! Super easy and teaches with a lot of passion. He's always there to help and his TA's are WONDERFUL! The essays that he gives you are practically done FOR you (he tells you EXACTLY what pages to look at). I DEFINITELY recommend this class to anyone that's willing to learn something while getting and easy A.

A really great professor and he is really helpful at improving your writing unlike most professors at UCR. Lowy is great and everyone should take him and I will take him again.

EASY A with this professor no need for the readings mostly it was just sitting there listening to panels since he rarely lectured. Term paper based on one topic in which he narrows it to 10 u can choose and gives you the book page numbers.

The nicest, easiest professor EVER! EASY A SERIOUSLY! Even he says that his standards are low & if you just go and talk to him, he'll help you. He has one blind eye so when you go to talk to him, he might get kinda close BUT he always has a smile on when you talk to him(maybe b/c im a girl?) LOL

Easiest A! All you need to do in this class is a Panel, Midterm Paper(on the vids), Term Paper, and go to class to write your name when he passes around the sign-in sheet(& he'll tell you what days he's going to do it) You ONLY NEED ONE BOOK out of the books he says to get. With that one book you can do your Panel & Term Paper. He's real chill too!

Easiest upper-division class at UCR. You only need one book, so don't buy the 3, and you could just photocopy one chapter for your panel presentation and use the same book/chapter for your final term paper. There's a mid-term paper based on videos shown in class. And he takes attendance, but even if you miss more than 4 classes, you'll still pass.

Mr. Bear is one funny guy who makes very funny jokes on serious subject matters. He assigns 3 books only use 1.His class is stupid easy. I enjoyed taking his class. He showed us an inspiring film called 'Salt of the Earth". He's very active when it comes to worker's rights. The man wants us to be down with the man.I am, Lowy was so chill and cool!

2 papers and a presentation. Easiest class I've taken at UCR and the guy is very intelligent and open minded. Would definitely take him for another class if I could. Very clear in what he looks for in the papers and very approachable.

There is a lot of work: reading and writing. Easy B

Professor Lowy is one of the sweetest professors that I have by far had. He was really understanding when it came to the grading portion of the class. He also was really open minded about everyone's opinions. Two papers and a presentation then I was done with the class! Definitely taking him again sometime in the future!

This is by far one of the best professors I have ever taken. His class is very easy, just do your freaking term papers they are not hard. People have become so lazy! This course only requires three essays; he gives the class two weeks to do each paper.

Dr. Lowy was so incredibly sweet and respectful. I enjoyed his class. It was definielty an easy A. Like so easy you won't believe it. He lectures a lot, theres one group project, and two midterms and a term paper (all take home!). Amazing professor.
