Intro to film teacher. He is incredibly easy as far as testing, but he yells at you if you miss a question in class, in front of everyone. Not a one-time thing, either. He needs therapy -- or he needs to stop teaching.
the man is crazy, but i loved his class. get to know your stuff and he'll love you too.
he is not very fun. it is very boring and he makes you watch stupid movies
Ho Hum. His teaching style is a little bizzare, he counts attendance as part of the grade, and he makes each student make a silly name tag. His Quizes/Tests are poorly formatted and poorly worded, but if you study a little bit you'll be ok.
There were many times that a question was asked of the professor and he didn't know the answer. However there were usually students that did. When the teacher isn't well versed in all the techinal aspects of the subject, he's not fit to teach.
Can you say crazy. This guy is a complete loon. He dresses up for class in different outfits. His tests are worded funny. Nametages? Did I mention he thinks we are in highschool. Oh and by the way he will take points of your grade for just looking at him funny... really happened.. Yeah.. he's nuts!
He's entertaining if you can just open your sense of humor up. I really liked the class and learned a lot. He's clear and gives good extra credit. Who cares about the nametag, but he does dock points for weird stuff.
If you looke past his outrageous clothing and quirky sayings, he really is a great teacher. I personally found that he was really funny, and if the stuff we were learning wasn't that interesting at least he was.
This guy is insane. The stupid nametags and docking points really bothered me and the movies we had to watch were terrible. His tests were the biggest mess I have ever seen, they were poorly worded and completely confusing. Beware!
Bad Professor, He writes poorly writen tests! He's as loony as the movies the students watch.
What a joke! This class was a huge waste of my time. The teacher is crazy. He comes to class everyday dressed like a fool. His tests are pointless. The tests are worded horribly. The movies we watched were retarded.
Outrageous wardrobe yes. Bizarre sense of humor yes. Good Teacher yes. Some people don't like his movies but if you can find 10 people who like the same movie you are lucky. He is a great teacher and if you listen instead of critize you will learn.
I NEVER KNEW THE REAL MEANING OF THE WORK CRAZY UNTIL I MET THIS MAN...CRAZY IS AN UNDERSTATEMENT! NOT TO MENTION THE FACT THAT HE IS SOMEWHAT ****ED! OVERALL HIS CLASS IS ALRIGHT IF YOU JUST GO, LISTEN, AND DON'T LOOK AT HIM WRONG...AND FORGET EVERYTHING HE SAYS UNLESS IT IS REALTED TO FILMS. ALTHOUGH HIS TESTS ARE KIND OF A MESS! GOOD LUCK!!!
Rick truly marches to his own drummer. He is a great teacher with a droll and hilarious sense of humor and style.
Although the man has an unhealthy obsession with Horror films, he was one of my favorite teachers. I had a blast in his class yet still learned a ton.
Yeah but didn't he look funny on Dick Tracy Week!
I loved this class. Moody is definitely different but an awesone film teacher. I wish there were more classes that he taught that were this much fun. Loved this class!
Great teacher. Explains everything very clearly...there are others on here who say he doesn't but they just don't listen to what he says. The tests are so easy its alsmost a joke. This is an easy A class and would reccomend it anyone.
Although this class was difficult and confusing at times, I believe the Dr. Moody did a good job of explaing the subject and teaching us. He had a quirky sense of humor, and I always got a laugh out of his outfits.
BAD! I've never met a film teacher who loved Van Helsing and turned off Eternal Sunshine because Kate Winslet's hair was dirty!?! Bafflingly commercial choices for MOVIES (not 'films') to watch. Wouldn't allow you to approach him before or after class, weekly movie quizzes were generally pointless, and dresses like a cartoon exploaded on him.
Most of your grade is determined by how well you know the pneumonic things he gives you, memorize those and you will do fine. The films he has you watch are good and relevant to the class. The class is easy overall. He aways can remember any film that has ever come out since the 70's. I swear this guy has seen every film ever made.
I loved this class, plus he was fun to look at.
Makes class interesting. Engaging teacher with fun sense of humor. Not overly challenging, but insightful just the same. Would definitely recommend.
Very unique and refreshing professor. goes to great lengths to make sure I understand everything, and is happy to clarify anything. Will talk to you before or after class. If your there everyday you will get an A, if not it could be hard to know whats going on, but the material is interesting and not too hard. He dresses up and its hilarious!:)
His personality is weird. He is a good teacher. He reviews often. Easy class, except his tests are very, very, poorly written and hard to understand.
Offers extra credit, easy quizzes and tests. Good teacher. Learned a lot. If you go on all the quiz and test days you WILL get an A.
Great Teacher. Very Prepared. Offers great insights. I always looked forward to attending his class and I learned much from it. Take his class!
The teacher makes the class fun. Im not a fan of film, but him as a teacher it makes things fun.
NICE GUY IN A WEIRD KIND OF WAY. KNOWS HIS STUFF, WISH WE COULD WATCH RATED R MOVIES THOUGH. QUIZES EASY, TEST R KIND OF TRICKY WITH WORDINGS.
Gives new and great insight to movies. Loved this class and recommend it for fine arts credit. Don't buy the book just the packet
If he only like Star Wars...he'd be perfect.
Easy class. Don't buy the book, just buy the $3 packet. He gives a lot of extra credit. The movie Kramer Vs. Kramer had a little nudity in it, and he didn't prep the class (it is rated PG, but in 1979). Besides that it was a good class.
Clear, concise, well organized. Nearly impossible not to get an A if you attend daily. Energetic about the subject (and everything else). Engages the class and is very good about questions. Tests are easy - he practically gives you the answers in every lecture. In our class, we helped choose the films. Best part about him: HE MAKES SCHOOL FUN!
He was an interesting teacher. I actually had fun in his class and i learned a lot. But he is extremely weird, and he can be a sarcastic jerk at times, but overall it was an easy, fun class and i didn't mind him too much. Just make sure when he calls on you, KNOW THE ANSWER IF YOU DON'T WANT HIM TO MAKE FUN OF YOU. Take him, you'll enjoy it.
Very intertaining in class. He is a fun professor. Tests are worded strange and even with studying it is difficult to understand what he means on tests. Great teacher Confusing tests
Cool teacher. Attendance is mandatory. Interesting teaching style. Can go a little too far with the joking, though--almost to the point if insulting people.
Dr. Moody is pretty neat guy. I had a lot of fun in his class, despite the fact that sometimes he was super weird. But I enjoyed the class a lot. the schedule is a little confusing at times, there's a lot to stay on top of. He knows what he's talking about because he has lots of experience. Don't buy the book, just the packet. Tests are super easy!
Dr. Moody is really strange, but he makes you laugh and is very helpful. There are weekly quizzes and tests, but they're easy. No need to buy the book just the packet. Overall, easy A.
Dr. Moody is kind of weird, but he's a pretty funny guy. He is very knowledgeable when it comes to film and his tests are kind of hard. But you'll learn a lot.
He is so funny! I loved this class. He seemed scary the first day but I think it was an act because after that he was so cool. I learned a lot and would recommend him to EVERYONE! He will help you as long as you ask. He is nice to everyone and a bit sarcastic, but in a good/funny way.
dr. moody is a hoot. he is so funny. he knows a lot about this subject and does a very good job getting the meaning across. you have to study a bit and memorize a little, but all in all, it's an easy class.
Dr. Moody is not weird or strange like some say...He just likes have a good time! I wish more profs would have fun with their subject the way he does. I learned a lot from him and I wish I would have had to opportunity to take him again. His class was my favorite this term and he was very entertaining!
Good class. Fair amount of work but at least you know exactly what is expected of you. Memorize the different accronyms he uses and you will be golden. Watch all the movies and go over reviews and you can't miss.
This guy is the dude! I mean this guy is THE DUDE! There is never a dull moment in this class. If you want to see the perfect case of charisma, humor, wit, passion, friendly (sometimes too much), and just a touch of mental instability ( a.k.a. CRAZY!!) Then Professor Rick Moody PhD. is your man. And yes you do call him by that title in class too!!
Well here is what you need to know: I took his class once and passed. .... Then I took it again. This guy is the craziest, funnest teacher I've had!!! I literally do impersonations of him at home!!! DO NOT MISS OUT ON THIS CLASS!!!!!
Very funny guy. I had a lot of fun in his class. Once you get how he grades assignments it is a fun class. DO THE EXTRA CREDIT!!!
Absolutely the worst teacher I have had at UVU. The lack of respect I have for him is a result of the way he treats his students. He is very inconsiderate and rude. Unrealistic expectations for a GE class. His emails are excessive and annoying - they totally defeat the purpose of the syllabus. Avoid this professor at ALL costs!
He's quirky and different, and I really enjoyed his classes. Write down the lists he gives, you'll need them the whole term. He reviews well. The tests are detailed and you need to study, but it's interesting. He's obviously passionate about Film and he strives to pass that on. I enjoyed his class and would recommend it and him.
Hes a great teacher. very funny and keeps things interesting. Study very well and you will do fine.
I have no idea what the other raters here have been drinking, but Moody is the most unprofessional instructor I have ever met. I don't care about his clothing choices or that he screens some bad films. The problem is misogynistic commentary and behavior as well as screaming at students. He loves to ridicule students for not sharing his opinions.
I loved Dr. Moody! He was helpful, clear and made the subject even more intersting. I went in with high hopes for a great experience and he did not let me down. No reason to not get an A if you go to class and just try a bit. Highly recommend this class.
Professor Moody is a very odd person, but he's a great teacher. He goes over everything on each test repeatedly in class, and offers many opportunities for extra credit.
Interesting person Dr. moody is. I liked the class a lot, it was upbeat and fun. Study and you will be fine
he is the worst teacher ever. he makes you watch a lot of movies and take notes, then he has a quiz in class and the questions he asked u are not even close to what they were in the study guild. do not take him!!!
Funny teacher, however, he makes you watch movies in class! Somebody help me! AAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHH!
I LOVE Moody. The guy is hilarious and the class is insanely easy. This is how it goes: Watch a movie or 2 every week (the movies are good ones too so it's not boring) Then you answer questions on it, and questions on the section of the packet. You're only graded on quizzes. And extra credit. REALLY easy ones. Easy A class. Insanely funny teacher
This guy is hilarious!! You'll see what I mean once you take the class. It's so fun to have a teacher that is so passionate about his job and film. SUPER easy class. Just remember to always be on his good side. He also gives plenty of extra credit throughout the semester! He's an awesome guy! Glad I got to get to know him!
Good class solid teacher no problems.
Moody is definitely interesting, is very opinionated, and will most likely hate your favorite movies and actors. But the guy is always willing to help. He's constantly giving out extra credit and he's assignments are so straightforward and simple. Trust me, the A you're guaranteed is worth the semester you'll have to hear his opinions.
Definitely don't take your phone out in class. He is very rude about it even if you have to text your kids!
Prof. Moody is a great guy and an excellent teacher, though he is opinionated and often doesn't like movies or actors you like. Took it summer term which made it intense on the homework.Homework was detailed, final was very reasonable if you kept up on everything else. He reviews in ways that really help if you have learning disabilities.
He is definitely an interesting guy. Its a super easy class! I think taking it online would have been better. You go over and over basically the same thing for a week then take a test on it. You have a different movie you watch every week. Tests are online at home. You have an online text book that you have to buy to take tests through.
Even though we had tests almost every week & had to watch a film almost every week, id take him again. Tests are online, except the final. Movies questions are easy to answer. BUT if you have your phone out he will take away 20 points. DONT TAKE YOUR PHONE OUT! He's hilarious and i loved this class!
To the point. Doesn't waste time on things not on the test. He teaches material clearly, requires in class participation, and uses repetition so you actually learn what you need to in class, don't need a lot of extra study. Downside is you have to buy his online text, it's where you take exams so its required
Dr. Moody is an amazing teacher and passionate about the subject. You do need to go to class and he does call people from the roll to answer questions. The textbook is online and the assignments are in the textbook. Gives lots of extra credit (seeing plays, pop quizzes, bringing things early). Reviews past materials a lot. Amazing professor!
Professor Moody is awesome. He made everything very clear, and his passion for the subject makes even the more boring parts of filmmaking interesting. If you do your part he'll help you out, but don't expect any charity. Must go to class but honestly this was the class I've had the most fun in. Try to get into it, even if you think you don't care.
Professor Moody is an excellent professor. He is extremely passionate about the subject matter and he is outright hilarious. His lectures are funny and he makes a lot of jokes. If you have a good attitude about the course you will succeed.
Dr. Moody is a funny guy but he can also get impatient if you rub him the wrong way. Not a ton of class discussion. He mostly lectures. You watch a movie, write a paper, and take a test online almost every week. Final exam is comprehensive. Dr. Moody gives a TON of extra credit! Overall, it was a fairly easy course.
If you are interested in movies, this class is for you! Professor Moody knows his stuff and he's funny! You get points just for showing up to class. His tests are pretty easy and he gives out study guides. All you do is watch movies and answer questions. I learned a ton! I would definitely take another class from him
Easy class, irritating professor. I don't like the professor at all. The content of the class was okay at best. I felt like I didn't learn anything, and by the middle of the semester I didn't want to watch movies anymore (and I love movies!). He kept making jokes regarding the popular religion, weird comments about women and just was a weird dude.
I absolutely love the classes that Professor Moody teaches.. They are interesting and I enjoy going to the classes. The quizzes for the chapters are based off of the reading. He gives out a note sheet at the beginning of each unit which you can take notes on and the information given in class was on the tests at the end of each unit.
Great teacher! Funny, clear about assignments, and overall a good class. There are SO MANY EXTRA CREDIT OPPORTUNITIES! seriously, you have to actively try to fail. Strict about any electronics in class, even if you're sneaky he'll see so don't even bother, just listen. If you miss more than 4 classes its an auto fail, but thats a department rule.
In my opinion, he is a great teacher and he is hilarious!! He is very passionate about the class he teaches. Also, he gives TONS of EXTRA CREDIT!!!! You really have to be super lazy to receive something less than A in this class. The only thing, he is very strict about attendance - if you skip more than 4 classes you will fail.
Don't mind the comments from the people that don't like him. If you're easily offended, you might not like him. My advice? Get over yourself, and learn something. Granted, he is kind of an odd guy, but mostly he's hilarious. He REALLY knows what he's talking about though, and the class isn't difficult AT ALL. SO much better than Robinson.
He is an awesome Professor who knows what he's talking about and presents it in an interesting way. I always looked forward to his class every week. You'll get a good grade in his class as long as you do the work.
He was an awesome teacher. Fun and easy class.
Richard was an amazing teacher! I'm not a film major at all, but he really knows his stuff. And he makes it interesting for you! He has you watch a different movie each week in the intro to film class, and you actually answer questions on a worksheet. He's funny, entertaining, and very personable! I would take more of his classes if I could!
I took this class for a fine arts credit and it was beyond easy. There is a test every other week, and the main assignments is watching movies. Provides a lot of extra credit so take advantage of it! Even if I got a 0 on the final I still would have passed with an A. Professor Moody is amazing! Take him.
Professor Moody is funny and has a sarcastic sense of humor. He wears a different theme in is clothing every week often depending on which movie we are assigned to watch. He knows his stuff about film. The class is pretty easy, and all you have to do is remember what different film related terms mean. I would suggest it.
you can easily get an A in this class. just show up, do your study guides which makes very easy for you. watch the movies each week(only 20 questions each). AND NEVER MISS YOUR EXAMS they are easy just dont miss them. (taken online) like i did. he offers lots of extra credit and is quite the character in class. i enjoyed it and so can you.
Professor Moody is hilarious. All of the tests and quizzes (except the final) are online and very easy. And the final was also easy, I might add. You watch one movie every week and fill out questions for it and get points. One of the funnest and easiest A's I have ever received, highly recommend this class.
One of the best classes I have ever taken. Any negative reviews are from students who made their own. I am very pleased with learning from this professor, knows his stuff, down to earth and is forgiving. Very kind and understanding of personal situations and is happy to compromise even when you don't deserve to be treated fairly. Great guy/course!
Moody is a really weird dude. Some of the films we had to watch were really old and boring. Most of the time, the class is spent watching the clock to get out and away from him. Really easy class, but idk if its worth it with him
Professor Moody is awesome! I learned a lot in class, make an effort to be there. If you pay attention in class, you'll be set. He provides a study guide outline for each section which is really easy to fill out. Read (or at least skim) the chapter in the online text, fill out your study guide, be prepared and he'll provide LOTS of extra credit.
Moody is quite the character. He is pretty funny and also very knowledgeable. This class was my favorite because you learn all the details on how movies are made and also get to watch movies in and outside of class. There is a quiz and exam every other week that are open note and are super easy. I would definitely recommend him to anybody.
Dr. Moody cares about his students. He will email you of you're falling behind to make sure everything is ok. He gives a TON of extra credit. DO IT ALL, and you will easily pass the class.
It was a terrible class.
What can I say about this man?.. He is such an awesome guy! He makes every class fun and interesting. His personality really brings his classroom to life. It takes a second to get used to him but once you do you won't ever find a better professor! He really cares about teaching you about film and not so much the typical homework. Two thumbs up!!
fun and easy class, if you keep up with the homework (which takes maybe an hour a week + the movie) and show up, you will get an A.
Dr Moody was one of my favorite professors. He was funny and his lectures were engaging. Attendance is required and so is being on time, but i never had any desire to skip his class. Its very structured, and you always know what your doing throughout the weeks, which i quite liked
Upside: Lots of extra credit. Really hard not to get an A in the class if you do everything on time. Downside: If you miss class more than 4 times, you fail automatically. Very little exceptions. I did not like this because its a class that you otherwise don't need to show up for to pass...
Class extremely easy. Just watch a movie every week and answer questions on it. Moody just lectures every class period and has you watch movies in class.
He was a good teacher. Ultimately an easy A. Just watch a movie every week and answer the questions. I hated how you HAD to show up for class because the lectures seemed pointless. The movies we watched were ones I usually wanted to watch. The only thing is he just shared too much about his own life. It was a little uncomfortable...
Though you have to do study guides, you really will get an A if you stay on top of the easy work
Dr. Moody is a nice guy who knows his stuff. Homework is watching movies & filling out study guides. Class/lectures usually include watching movie clips in class and dissecting them. If you're not willing to show up for that, don't bother with the class as attendance matters. Moody is definitely a character but class was always a fun time.
He does not care about his students, thinks he's cool because he knows film and directed some movies. Please, I beg you, avoid taking him.
I loved Moody! Attendance is mandatory, because of the theater department. You watch a movie once a week and fill out a worksheet with about 20 questions all relating to the movie you are watching. He offers a TON of extra credit. I had enough extra credit that I didn't even need to take the final. He is different, but hilarious. I recommend him!
This class was the best! Moody was a weird dude, but hilarious! He offers so much extra credit that I usually had around 115% the whole semester. I would highly recommend taking!
Professor Moody is a good dude. He asks that you come to class, per the department standard. He is a funny guy, definitely quirky. He always dresses up to a theme each week just to spice it up. The homework is simple and fun, just watching movies weekly. Study guides for testing is so easy, just copy and paste. Easy and fun class if you show up!
Take his film class because you can get a easy A without taking your final. You only need to get 1062 points to get an A grade, and I got 1082 points at last week of the class. He gives a lot of extra credits. I loved all the movies he required us to watch.
This class was an easy A for me when I took it distant education in high school, but prepare for pop quizzes as well as the fact that he hates electronics and prints out the packet he wants you to do for the class. The movies were good, questions were easy. Final wasn't too hard, but he's definitely not the most compassionate or understanding.
Professor Moody is a super knowledgeable, nice, and funny guy. The homework is very easy and consists of filling out study guides from the online textbook and watching good movies. There are tests every other weekend but they are done online and if you fill out the study guides you will be totally fine. I recommend Professor Moody and his classes.
Professor Miller's class was really fun, it was just learning about how to make movies and watching movies. In class you just watch clips of movies and that's the homework too. The tests are really easy. Great class to take for an art credit.
He's a little quirky, but Dr. Moody is a great choice for THEA1023. A huge percentage of your grade is just showing up and taking the world's easiest online tests. The amount of extra credit is ridiculous. Take this class and pass.
His tests are really easy. Also, he allows you to NOT take the final if you don't want to, and he lets you keep the grade you have without it. i.e. if you have an A before the final, and decide to not take it, he will let you finish the class with an A. Lots of bus work, he's funny, and the movies are great. Helped me watch movies with better.
This professor really cares that you come to class and participate. You will not get a good grade if you miss class more than a couple times. He is also very strict with his no phone policy. The class isn't too hard. He gives SO much extra credit that if you do all of it, you might not even have to take the final at the end!
Professor Moody made class super fun and interesting. I loved all the topics that we covered and attending class was enjoyable. Easy options for extra credit. Assignments are easy and the online textbook he provides is very helpful as well.
His class was unorganized, he had a hard time controlling the high school students. Did not utilize canvas very well. His lecture style felt stale and uninteresting. I took it for the credits but honestly I wish I took another class. Honestly one of the worst professors I have had at uvu. but its an easy A
I had a live stream class with him. He is a super funny guy but ridiculously unorganized. Every other week there is a study guide to fill out, a test, and a pre test. Most of the movies you watch are pretty good and they are once a week. He doesn't really know how to use canvas and there just seems to be a lot of inconsistency in his assignments
He's a chill person, but pretty disorganized. He asks that you complete a study guide each week and ask questions in class from it. Not having an answer ready for him is probably the worst part of the class. The reading is heavy and fairly boring. You'll have to set aside 2 1/2- 3 hours a week just for watching a movie and answering questions.
Every week we were assigned a movie to watch over the weekend along with a documentary and also a reading assignment. It was a lot for myself but I know it's manageable if you're good at time management. He's a very nice professor and he is one of the more relatable I've had, make sure to be ready to talk in class, he calls randomly.
Dr. Moody is awesome. All you gotta do is show up to class and participate here and there. You watch a movie once a week for homework and then answer questions. The tests are super easy. I skipped class all the time and still got a B. Dr. Moody is a quirky and fun dude and this is an easy class, enjoy.
Moody is awesome. As long as you do the study guides, homework, and participate you will get an A. He offers tons of extra credit so if you miss something you can make it up. He uses points instead of percent for grades so you just need to get the minimum number of points for the grade you want. I got 100+ more points than needed for an A.
Professor Moody isn't like any other, and I mean this in the best of ways. He is funny, a little old-school, but likeable. Overall, he's a great professor, although strange and witty at times. Definitely don't expect to be lectured he needs participation (this also means calling on your team to answer pop-questions about the topic). Great class.
I really liked him. He was funny and the class was fun to come to. I feel like the workload was perfect for the class and as long as you went to class and kept up on all your assignments you can do really well in the class. Your grade is heavily affected by your attendance though, so I wouldn't recommend this class if you tend to miss class.
Incredible teacher! His witty and dry humor is what kept me coming to class. The workload was perfect for the semester and fairly easy. Participation is vital but he is encouraging and helps you out if you don't know an answer. He is reachable by email and responds quickly. Overall, had a fantastic few weeks in his class. Would 100% recommend him!
He's a funny guy. A real rapscallion. He is a pretty great teacher and made the class fun.
Moody was pretty great. Every class was pretty entertaining mostly due to his very unconventional personality. You watch a movie, do a study guide, then take a test every week. Very chill. Not hard to get an A.
He is one of the best professors I have ever had. The workload is pretty light--you watch 1 movie a week (he chooses really good movies), answer 20 questions about it, have 1 pretest a week, and 1 quiz every other week. He is very funny and has some of the coolest fits. I highly recommend taking his class!
For me, this class was extremely boring. You have a study guide to fill out every two weeks for homework and thats what he covers in class so it's almost if you don't even need to go, but he gives you 15 participation points for every attendance. Your homework is to watch a movie every week that he assigns. He's a little strange, gives extra credit
It was ok. Watch a movie every week and answer questions that go along with it, take test every 2 weeks on components of film. Going to class felt pointless but you can only miss 4 days or you fail. Strict on no phones. Lots of the movies chosen were boring so it ate up your time to watch it. Took for fine arts credit. Online textbook was like $80.
Dr. Moody is basically what you can expect from an old boomer guy who loves film. He's funny but a little inappropriate at times. Going to class is pointless but most of your grade is attendance. So if you're looking to drool for 90 mins and want a class that is easy, this is perfect
Super funny dude, had lots of fun in his class. Some of the movies you watch are boring but most of them are good.
Overall the class was easy and the workload is manageable. You watch 1 movie a week and answer questions about it. The pre-tests/tests aren't that hard. Some of the movies are older and more boring, but not terrible. He's super funny and offers a lot of extra credit. Attendance points matter so if you miss class often I wouldn't recommend it.
Prof Moody is a very easy going teacher. Beware that he does not allow the use of laptops or phones in his class, only hand written notes. His class is very easy and if you need to take an art elective this is the class to take. Be ready to spend a couple hours a week on homework as the homework is answering questions about a new movie every week.
Attendance is mandatory, four days you fail the course. Takes points if electronics out. If you don't have a paper out to take notes on your desk he stops the entire class until you get it and lectures you on why it's important. Lots of "guess what's in my head" questions. One movie about a crossdresser. The book we buy is by the same professor
Prof. Moody doesn't have the most difficult course in the world. However, attendance is mandatory, and if you miss 4+ classes, you fail, and he made sure to say he doesn't care if it's for a trip or a hospital stay - you fail. The quizzes and worksheets are not difficult, but no laptops or phones in class or you lose attendance points for the week.
Moody is a pretty cool guy, and a little quirky. The class is so easy, just tests & attendance. Tests are open-book, just requiring seeing the movie. Lectures just revisit the content from LAST week tho, making them mind-numbingly boring imo. Phone usage deducts points, and missing 4 classes for any reason means you fail. Easy, but drove me insane.
Professor moody is a very interesting guy. He's got a funny and blunt personality and has hilarious outfits each week. the homework is super simple but attendance in class is mandatory and you will be failed if you missed to many classes which is unfortunate because I feel I didn't learn a whole lot from being in class.
Asks questions like "what do YOU think about _?" No matter what you begin to say he will cut you off to talk about what HE thinks is right and just moves on, then he somehow gets ticked that you didn't know the "right" answer. It's supposed to be a discussion class where you talk about films but he just likes the sound of his own voice.
Dr. Moody isn't an awful professor, but he isn't good. Attendance is mandatory and if you miss more than a couple of classes, you fail the entire class, and he doesn't care why you missed. He also HATES computers so don't look to use yours in this class. Also, if you don't like being called on, don't take this class!
i did not like the outline of this class at all. textbook is expensive and mandatory, cant have your phone or computer out, and if you miss class you fail the course. very hard core for just a film class. please avoid.
Professor Moody is a quirky but entertaining teacher. His classes are mostly watching films and completing study guides, which can be a bit tedious, but he keeps things fun with his unique personality. unstuck ai was a big help for test prep. Overall, an easy A if you can handle the mandatory attendance.
I really learned a lot about the film industry and the elements that make a good movie. Professor Moody is a funny, quirky teacher who cares about his students and makes them have a good time; you get to watch interesting movies as homework. You must watch the movies, read the chapters, and do the quizzes in order to get a good grade.
