This guy is really great. he has that spirit that just makes you want to hang out with him and talk. try to sit closer to the front cuz he is a low talker. if you do the reading, u should have no problem. I went to class just to see what would come out of his mouth that day, truly a unique character

I took Narrative my freshman year during my first semester. This was my first time ever reading an assigned English book from cover to cover. This professor is devoted to his work and makes the learning process enjoyable. Not a class to sleep through and highly recommended.

Simply put: Pindell is the man. Seriously, if you don't like Pindell then there is something wrong with you. The man is a literary genius. His tests are all essay about the books you have to read. However, the books he assigns are worth reading. He genuinely loves his students and you could talk to him about ANYTHING. A++++++

The guy is crazzzy. The class was on literature of war, but he spent most of the lecture talking about love and his 5,000+ girlfriends in life. Complete BS class, if you can make your essays prose-y and colorful you'll get an A. I regret taking this class.

Pindell is awesome! Don't expect any more than 5% of the lecture to be even tangentially related to the actual class, but he's got funny stories and good insights. Show up, speak up, and he'll love you. Grading is super easy if you pay any modi****of attention. Mostly just a fun guy.

Had Prof. Pindell for Faulkner,Spirit of Place and another Modern Lit class along with Prof Hagopian, a major influence on me as a young man, and as a HS teacher. "A lie stuck to, is as good as the truth" I wish I took writing because I'm sure his insights into the creative process are awesome. I wish I could find/he published more of his own writi

Pindell is a hilarious man. He always brings some interesting story to the class. Unfortunately though, it does not always relate to the material assigned. Try to keep your own opinions of the text because the TAs will occasionally take points off if you try to relate it to his more out-there stories.

This man is awesome. Truly. He may go on tangents about his daughter or his dogs but I have learned more from him in 5 minutes than I have an entire semester taught by some other Professor. Took him twice during my college career... which I had taken every class he taught.

Prof Pindell is an awesome teacher. His classes are entertaining- he likes to go on random tangents which he then somehow relates back to the material. He makes you read the texts in an entirely new way, analyzing new aspects every time. Pick a seat near the front because he talks softly at times. He's one professor you want to have b4 you graduate

He is probably the best professor in this school. the only thing that suck about his class are his TAs. they are responsible for grading the exams and they are extremely harsh on grading. overall i will recommend this class because pindell is a professor every student need to take before graduating. he is simply weird and a lesbian.

His TA's make the class suck. Often his tangents are so lengthy that he becomes incomprehensible. The kids that laugh at him egg him on and he'll talk about weed for 40 minutes and yet the TA's grade you like hard asses. It's stupid. I'm actually READING the novels, and not getting good grades on the tests.

Pindell is the most profound teacher you will ever have. Thought-provoking, relatable, entertaining, and so much more, you won't want to miss his classes before entering the "real" world. Some say that he is incomprehensible, but I would say that is only for those who do not put forth the intellectual input that his courses require.

Prof. Pindell resinates long after his class ends. He is a pioneer and an entertainer, and his class should not be wasted by people who do not fully commit to his dedication. He is and will always be the King of Bing.

Overall, an enjoyable teacher and is well worth taking a class with. I can see that his personality and VERY relaxed teaching-style can be a little off-putting to some, and he does tend to go on many unrelated rants and tangents in class, but otherwise he has moments of brilliance that make you love and appreciate good storytelling. GREAT books.

He's really a great person. Real, and feeling, and wants you to get more out of a college education than bs'ing a paper that means nothing to you. He wants you to feel, and think in ways you haven't done previously. He wants to inspire. Have fun with this class, and it will be worth it. Not a typical class, but also good if you want an A.

The class was more of a leisurely activity to attend, I enjoyed hearing his viewpoints of the books and the tests were really easy. The TA is very friendly. Honestly, just listen to what he says and you'll get an A in the course. Like a previous student noted, he talks a lot about pot, his daughter and living in Binghamton. Great class.

Professor Pindell is a really interesting guy. He is very friendly but absolutely eccentric. He's not for everyone, but still a great guy. The class was not terribly difficult. We just have 3 essay exams in class. If you read the books (and they aren't bad) you should do fine. The TA seems nice and he's usually willing to talk after class.

Pindell is the man. He speaks from life experience a lot, often going on funny tangents. You don't have to go to class if you have someone to sign you in every day, but they're certainly entertaining. Read the books, you'll get an A. Don't want to read? Use Sparknotes, you'll probably still get an A.

Pindell is hilarious in a laid back and vulgar way. His knowledge of war and tangents on life make the class worth attending. Beware, he speaks softly, and nothing he says is relevant to the in-class essay questions. We made up our own questions most of the time. The books are worth reading, but you can get an A just from movies/Sparknotes.

DO NOT TAKE A CLASS WITH HIM. I got an A on the first exam, had perfect attendance, but got only a b+ in what should've been an easy A. You can't contact him because he DOESN'T HAVE AN EMAIL ADDRESS. What is there to say about Pindell? You will be confused. Baffled, even. You'll wonder why you aren't even opening the book or where he came up with these seemingly nonsensical questions. But you will learn. What exactly will you learn? I guess whatever he feels like teaching you that day. Pindell's the best. I truly mean that.
