Randall makes political science very interesting. He's a crazy guy, but that's what makes the class fun.

Randall's a really funny instructor that makes the class interesting with his stories that can relate to the topics that are covered.

For some reason he let most of the class pass by announcing that the cut-off grade for a "C" was lowered. I was estatic by this.

Show up to class, Study hard for the few tests you will have, and you will get a good grade. The guy is hilarious.

He's entertaining but tells a lot of stories that are obviously fabricated which can be annoying. If the class wasnt on an interesting subject I dont think I would have liked it.

He is hilarious. Probley the best BS'er Ive ever met. classes are entertaining. Not a hard class if you study. He tells you what is going to be on the test in advance-so logically just study what he tells you--if you dont then there is no reason to complain. Also he reminds me of Ned Flanders from the simpsons--which is funny in itself.

Randall is a kick in the pants. Makes the class totally interesting. NO HOMEWORK ASSIGNMENTS! Just 4 EXAMS which are a little tricky if you don't study. He tells you what to study and you better well do it if you want to pass. But you only have to put 100% effort 4 times a semester, it shouldn't be to much to ask, should it?

Fantastic class. I had little to no interest in POSC but Randall could make watching grass grow fun and entertaining. He is a riot and you have to ask him about his stories. Absolutely one of the best a must take teacher.

He always drinks a bottle of coca-cola in the class, not pepsi

Mr.R is the most comical human being I have ever met and his swearing IS just for effect. He is one of the most comp****ionate souls I've ever met at Merced J.C. Listen up-For all you chuckleheads that say Rich isn't the greatest, crawl back under your rock. Yests are super easy, right from the notes. He tells you what to study, and gives stars for degree of importance. no homework. Hillarious, tells great stories, and makes the class go quickly. Very helpful, even out of class, and a student advocate.

Randall is really cool. If you conservatives dont like him drop dont cry about it. Easy and fun class. dont really need the book just read the notes and go to class.

OMG he was HILARIOUS! Just make sure you show up to the lectures so that u don't miss any notes. All u have to do is thoroughly study your notes and you will do well in that class.

Very funny teacher, keeps the class from becoming dull. As long as you come to class, take all the notes then you don't need to read the book. His tests are based solely off his notes. He's quite a character.

This is the easiest class that I have ever taken. seriously. If you attend lecture and study your notes then you'll pass the class. In lecture his notes are the answers to the test so just take good notes and you'll pass.

Randall is by far my favorite teacher. I never would have thought I would ever be excited to go to a Political Science class, but he such a character that I don't feel like I'm in a classroom sometimes. The Randall stories are the best are are alone worth taking the class for.

love him! one of my favorite teachers =) he's hilarious and makes political science entertaining. only complaint is his tests are far too long, but he provides you with more than enough material. he actually tells you specifically what will be on the test. if you have a good memory or know how to study your notes well, you'll do well.

Awesome teacher! He's a lot of fun and keeps the class interesting. i hate politics but he makes the class so much fun i don't mind sitting through a lecture on it! very willing to help and answer questions. my only complaint is that he lets people eat and talk in class which can be a distraction. get a seat up front if you want to be able to focus

This guy is by far the best teacher at merced college ever. You will always see him around holding a coke. The class was very interesting and although I got a C in his class He was by far the funniest and most interesting teachers I have come across. I loved the fact that he was so understanding and helpful by means of his lectures.

I took both his classes, American politics and comparitive politics and highly reccommend him. For posc-02, its mainly a bunch of quizzes and only counts 10 and for my class there was only two tests for the entire semester. Simply flip through the book and pay attention to notes and lectures and you will do fine.

Great teacher! Knows his subject by heart, does not teach from over head. Writes on the board EVERYTHING you need to know for the test. So study everything on the board and study the terms from the book and you will get an A in the class. Great personalty. Great stories. Excellent teacher!!

He is a cool guy, doesnt teach from a book or powerpoint but the top of his head. he makes the corse esier than the other full time proffesor at this campus. i took both i would a million times recommend randall over the other instructor.

Loved this teacher! He gives you all the answers and all the tests are passable. However he will star somethings saying those are guaranteed to be on the test but you should study all of his notes not only the starred ones. I passed all of his tests with A's including the dreaded first one. I only had to take half the final. STUDY ALL OF HIS NOTES

Hilarious professor, finds ways to work jokes into his lecture which keeps students engaged. Class is pretty easy as long as you go EVERY SINGLE DAY. He tells you which notes pertain to the test so you don't want to miss any class. Loved this class, would recommend him to EVERYONE

This got to be one of the koolest professors i have taken. Very nice, easy going and flexible. Just make sure to attend class and take notes cause the answer are from the notes.

Really funny and down to earth. Each class is kind of like sitting through a stand-up comedian act. He makes (in my opinion) a pretty boring subject fun. If you are easily offended then do not take his class because at times he pushes the line, but hes really a great teacher.(He has won teacher of the year 8 times so far). over-all take this class!

An absolutely amazing teacher! He is a very very smart guy but he teaches like he is your friend rather than someone who realizes he is smart than you. Do whatever you can to take Political Science with Randall, you won't regret it.

I was nervous about being back in College full time after a 5-year absence and even more nervous about having to take a Political Science class. Randall made the class entertaining, his lectures were interesting and at times funny and the information stuck. He is a great instructor and if he taught other courses, I would definitely take them.

I strongly recommend students to take Political Science with Mr. Randall. He is a professional who respects his students as human beings. If a student shows up to class, pays attention, writes the notes on the board, studies their notes, and reads, passing with an A is likely. As a result of his class, I now have a solid background in civics.

I really enjoy is class, he's a great professor. make sure you write down anything with *** on the side because they show up on the test. he makes political science fun and he isnt a hard teacher at all if you communicate with him he always ends up helping you. oh yeah dont forget his coca-cola(his addiction). If you are there for all the lectures and listen then you can pass the tests with a good grade! He will give you the answers to test questions during lecture so don't miss class or make friends with classmates. His stories during lecture are funny! For the subject not being of any interest to me, he made the lectures entertaining!

Great teacher, there is no homework or quizzes we only have about 2-3 tests throughout the semester. He lectures throughout the whole class and writes a lot of notes. He puts stars next to info that will be on the test, which makes the test super easy and if you happen to fail a test he drops your worst test grade at the end of the semester.

Show up, put stars next to the ones that he does ( they will be on the test), and study a night or two before. You'll pass the class if not with an A than a high to mid B. (Text book only if you're a real perfectionist like me and want the A or A+.)

Professor Randall relates text to real life experience that he either experienced or what is going on in the news. He keeps your attention and makes you want to learn more on the subject.

If you like stories, this is the class for you. He has hundreds of stories! He made Politics understandable and relatable to our everyday lives. He literally tells you whats on the test in the lectures so attendance is key, but won't kill you if you miss a day. And read the text, it definitely helps in the end.

Great and funny professor. Takes off one of your worst test grades, stars everything that will be on test and overall an intelligent individual. A lot of lecturing but with the Randall stories, its quite interesting!

Easily the funniest teacher I've ever had. All you really have to do is write down what he stars on the board. It does help to write everything but isn't necessary. He does talk A LOT so if you have trouble listening for long periods of time, then he might not be for you. I didn't even get the book and I understood everything he talked about fine.

Stories and lectures every day. Did the 8 weeks class. I only had 3 exams and no other assignments. He is one of the best professors out there. Attendance is not mandatory. He is very understanding and easy to work with. You must do all the online assignments and exams for him to replace one of your bad exams. He wont get to ur emails- not a techy

Took Randall over the summer for a compressed course, did not regret it. Colorful with language, funny and kept his lectures interesting. As long as you study the points he emphasizes the tests are a breeze.

Randall is terrific professor, he explains things thoroughly and gets the classes attention with his Life stories which somehow always fits the topic he is covering for the course. All in all you really learn something from his courses and hes super funny. Highly recommended.

Take his notes and read the book. His exams are not soley on his notes so I highly recommend the book. His lectures are interesting and his little life stories will always tie into what he is lecturing about. His exams are moderately hard but are somewhat very forgiving when it comes to extra credit points.

I received an A and I miss quite a few times this semester because of medical conditions. I also really didnt have to study for the exams since I knew a lot this material. Hes a very interesting professor but I would have liked him to be more tough and challenging since this is my major, but overall he is great.

He was an amazing professor he really has a passion for politics and it shows through his teaching. He's very interactive with students, he answers any questions you may have. Your grade is based on exam scores, he gives hints to questions during lecture that's why it is important to show up. His lectures are interesting very informative.

Just 3-4 test including the final but can pass if you listen and attend every time. Easy A since (not sure if all) test score(s) can also be replaced by revel score(s).

Professor Randall is great! He is very passionate, clear in his explanations and very entertaining. I succeeded in his class by always showing up and taking good notes. He gives many "hints" to what will be on the test, so always write them down. I highly recommend putting his lecture notes in flash cards. (I used Quizlet for every test!)

Professor Randell is an amazing teacher. He can be really funny at times and includes stories from his life to incorporate into the topic we were on. This class to heavily dependent on his exams, total of 3 to 4, and writing notes from his lectures are a MUST. This class was great and I recommend Professor Randall.

took this class online. there was absolutely no homework, only 3 exams. watched the lecture videos which was time-consuming but he adds his own personal stories to them which makes it more enjoyable. also he adds 10pts extra credit for each exam taken. In his lecture, he tells possible exam questions + answer so listen for that, it will appear

Very easy class. He gives 10 points extra credit for every exam. He drops your lowest exam and if you finish all the quizzes on Pearson Revel, he will replace that grade for an exam. You can get an A if you pay attention.

I have never gotten more out of a class than in Randalls. This man will share life experiences with you that go far beyond schooling. Listen to his storys listen to what he has to say because it matters. Randall will challange conventional ideas in his classroom. I respect this man more than most my family members. Randall is a Great guy tells lots of fun stories about his life and he is not bias at all he listens to both side of political parties and he's very understanding when it comes to miss days and stuff. Would highly recommend incoming Freshman College Students to take him. Really great guy.

This professor never once assigned homework, but was a funny fun and engaging lecturer.

No homework at all during the semester but your entire grade is based on tests and an essay. Tests are difficult (85 questions) so make sure you study or you will fail.

He has so many great stories that tie into what we learn. I knew basically nothing about politics before this class but it was still manageable. No homework all semester, your grade is based on 3 tests & a short essay. I never opened my textbook and still got a good grade, just take good notes and review them before test day and you will pass.

Professor Randall gave great and entertaining lectures as well as telling a few interesting stories. He gave 2 multiple choice exams and the final exam that had a section being a multiple choice and the other being an essay portion. He drops the lowest grade out of the 4 exams and there is no homework and textbook is not required by recommended.

Randall was AMAZING. With that being said... his course grade is based off of 3 exams only. The thing that determines your grade in the class is the score of those exams. The exams are long, and unless you have amazing memory or study efficiently, you will probably not get 100%. I didn't get anything out of this course besides a couple of laughs.

lectures were very interesting for me. test were heavy for me though. no homework or extra credit. the lowest test grade is droped and the last test was an essay in class. difficult to cheat
