Lectures are very unhelpful, especially when it comes to taking his exams.
Easy Teacher, i missed 21 classes and made a B
I thought he was kinda funny. He does have a unique teaching style that doesn't tend to acomodate lazy students, but overall a pretty easy teacher.
I thought he was very confusing. His lectures have nothing to do with the test. He gives practice exams to study and tells you that the test comes straight from them but they don't. I studied forever for tests and couldn't do well. He does curve.
All this guy does is graphs in class and the test are nothing like what he does in class. So basically you have to read the book to learn.
Saba didnt do a good job of explaining the material. If attendance wasn't required, I could have done just as good sitting at home reading the book.
Don't get him.
All he does in class is draw graphs with thousands of lines and the erases some... horrible lecture. Expects EVERYONE to just love economics. Dork.

This teacher is not helpful at all I had a C average midsemester but ended with an F. He got upset with the class and stopped giving study guides because he said that we werent using them anyway and he put things on the test that wasnt in the lecture
He is a very good, and easy professor. It´s pretty easy to blame your professors for your mediocrity on courses. I bet half of these other people here didn´t make any effort to learn the material.
if you like looking at graphs and not being able to understand them this is the class for you. all he does is draw graphs with tons of lines, by the time you are done drawing the graph he is done explaining the graph. very confusing lectures also
Atleast 80% of the test was from the study guide and old test, and the rest was from the book. No he is not a fun teacher, but the class is easy.
class is boring but just about the whole test is from the study guides. study them hard and read over the material and you'll be fine. he's pretty funny in class sometimes.
I loved his class! Switched majors because of it. His lectures take a week or so to get used to, but are incredible after that. Tests are easy, class is fun, and he's a great professor.
Not helpful and the lecture is mind-numbing. You learn nothing and he labels nothing he puts on the web. Avoid this class. Anyone that likes it must be crazy.
I absolutely loved this class! If you do the work and go to class, you'll do well. He has a great sense of humor and makes economics fun and interesting! His tests are fair and he's just generally awesome!

His class is rather boring and long. The materail is never clear and the WebCt material is never clearly presented/labeled. Not to mention, he never repsonds to e-mails no matter how crucial the circumstances.The only plus might be his sense of humor.
You will get a C. No matter what you do, that's the best you can do. Nearly 1/3 of the class dropped. And the class average is 71.
Unless you're good at ECON and have unreal interest-Don't take this professor. He is very vague in his labeling-and graphs like it is going out of style. He isn't very helpful no matter how hard you work nor will he communicate when needed with students.
A bit unorganized but for the most part a good teacher. Study the practice tests, read, and go to class and you will do fine.

He is a good teacher, he is not easy. If you go to class though you should do good. His test get easier as the semester goes on
He is the worst teacher that I have ever had while here at Auburn. His lectures consists of nothing but graphs and he does a poor job of explain material. If you get him for economics drop the class as quickly as you can. His class is not worth the hassle

if you go to class and you read the material, the class is not that hard. if you have questions, ask him and participate in the class. it's the only way you'll learn things that are confusing.
Drop the class if you struggle at all b/c it want get any better with this professor. Take ECON later under someone else or get a indiv. who knows the ECON beyond to assit you b/c this professor isn't very clear or helpful
Hmm...this teacher kinda sux coz he cannot teach at all. He expects us to know everything, just like that. When he actually do review, it's still confusing as hell. Reading the book help a bit, and he is soooo borrrriiinnggg....

Not my best experience--at all. Made an A, but only because I taught myself from the book and did the practice test. Our first test was curved 20+ pts because the average was an F. The others were curved as well, but not as much. He just doesn't lecture well and makes the material confusing.
He's a funny guy, but the material is tuff to stay with, and there's a lot of work involved, but for a senior/graduate level class it's worth it.

Class follows the book, which has a website that he follows. Homework is on internet, not hard to do, but the tests(which he makes himself) aren't anything like the book or homework. they're extremely confusing even if you know the material. he's a nice guy, but the class is hell
Very nice guy & tries to be helpful. He is very hard to follow, and you pretty much need to teach yourself, from the book, and STUDY the practice tests. His tests are rather confusing, but similar to the practice tests.

Hm.. for this class, it was pretty confusing. He didn't explain it that clearly either. He likes to jump from one subject to another. He is eager to help.
Yall DONT take his class if you can help it! He CANNOT teach and makes the material much harder than it should be. Hes nice and means well but is not a good teacher at all.
He is an awful teacher. He is a nice man, but going to class is worthless because he doesn't teach at all. His tests are so confusing and hard.
Terrible teacher. He doesn't teach. The university pays him too much. He doesn't even make up his own lectures, the only thing that he has to do is grade our tests and I'm sure that his GTAs do that for him. He is very rude when you have to ask him a question.
I liked Dr.Saba. Sometimes he made things alot harder than they really are but overall he really cares about how you do in his class. You just have to go everyday and read the book.
He is a difficult teacher.But go everyday, because he gets mad when you don't and he gives away hints once less than 50% of class shows up. I'm working my ass off for a B. Just read the book and do the online homework and it's not too too hard. But he isn't a good lecturer, so study on your own!
Dr. Saba Doens't present very clear lectures. He loves graphs and isn't very good at explaining anything outside of the a and y axis. If you take him-be ready to study hard oustside of class. Some of the exams aren't too bad-but others are horrible. GOOD LUCK if U get him.
Drop this class unless your willing to work your butt off. He's hard to follow in class, but if you do your homework and go to class everyday, you should be fine.

horrible!! most boring class ive ever sat through..doenst teach at all bc he doenst know what hes talking about. makes test super hard and talks the whole time. gets very annal easily and gets mad when you dont go to class..i went about 4 times and made a c..there was no point in going bc he doesnt teach anything just confuses you more
terrible teacher, do not go to class unless you have time to waste. Does not teach the material to prepare you for the test. Best chance you have is to read the book and teach it to yourself. I enjoyed economics until I took it under this guy.I'd rather swim naked in front of my grandparents than take this class under Dr. Saba.
Well to be honest about it he is not a good teacher. He is too worried about whether you go to class or not. How does he expect you to go to class when he can't even teach. Do not take the class. Horrible teacher retirement is his best friend.
HE SUCKS! He always put me in a bad mood because all he did was complain about how no one came and how stupid we were. He scaled the first 2 tests then refused to scale the 3rd because he was mad at us. I always left this class more confused and in a really bad mood. I went everyday, but you would probably do better just not going
Oh my gosh. I have never been more frustrated with a class in my life. He drew the same chart on the board everyday and then a few more lines that really never made sense. I tried really hard and got my first D! Unless you're already an economics genius then dont take this class and expect to learn. It was a complete waste of tuition money.
i agree - the charts made NO sense - it was the same chart everyday but supposedly ment different things - i got my 1st ever C and i studied hard for his tests
read before you go to class, dont skip class, and study the practice tests. if you don't do all three of these things, don't even bother taking this class. i did all three, and i made an A. I'm no economics genius either. I recommend this class.
Saba really isnt that bad. I took micro in the summer, i went to class, did the online stuff every now and then if i didnt get something, and studied the practice exams.. he basically teaches straight from the book, not the most interesting class ever, but its not that hard of material. dont fall too far behind and remember those practice exams.
All he does is read the powerpoint presentations. No teaching what so ever!
All he does is draw crazy graphs that make no sense...thank God the book is understandable and the homework is easy. God help us on the tests.

He flies through power point slides that he didn't make himself, draws really confusing graphs, and begs us to read the chapters while making a huge deal about whether or not we show up. The homework and chapters aren't too difficult to understand so just take notes from them because he'll only confuse you. Take someone else if you can.

Don't sit in the front row - he gets right in your face and puts you on the spot. Horrible guy, and an annoying, pathetic old man! Take someone else or you will be beating your head into the wall out of frustration!

One word: awful! I'd rather take out my own appendix than take another class under this man! He simply doesn't teach and thinks that by reading slides to us we'll enjoy ourselves. The exams are from hell too, so for your own sake take someone else!
Microeconomics is not an easy class, regardless of the professor. However, Dr. Saba attempts to teach the class in a practical way. Regular attendance pays off and the homework is setup to where you can get an A on each assignment. Achieving an A might be a stretch but a B is managable with decent studying.
At first I hated him. I went to class every day and didn't follow or understand anything he was talking about. Then I realized all you had to do was read the book. I never went to class and the day before the tests I would just study the book really hard. The tests come straight from the book. Don't bother going to class.
gag me with a spork! what a terrible professor! take ANYONE else but him. he "teaches" straight out of the book and only 30 or 40 out of 230 actually show up at each lecture.
He is a horrible teacher, if you get him drop the class! He is so boring and doesn't make any since. He makes it impossible to take notes in his class and his tests are impossible! Get out while you can!!
Well, let's see, 13% of the class shows up regularly and the average grade was a 62. I never went to class and got a 71. I think that I hate this man more than anyone alive and may God help your soul if you slam the door shut after you take a test.
Lets put it this way. I had the old test from the semster before. Didnt help at all. The homeworks and all his little practice exams will only help you enough to get a C. The final was mostly identical problems from the old test and the last 2 chapter practice exams. I came out with a C while my friends got D's or F's cause they didnt look over it
this class is easy. so the professor shouldnt matter. do all the homework, prctice test, and maybe read the book and you will have an A. he makes out new tests each year.
Drop this class, I'm not playing. Lectures are pointless but he checks attendance. READ the book carefully, Tests are pretty hard. Lectures are extremely boring and worthless. I came close to tears last semester it was so boring. Run...NOW
i like this teacher! he's hard, and the first exam kinda sucks, but once you get past that, you figure out how he teaches and will do much better
Saba really is not hard. You have to work, but atleast a C is attainable with little effort. He has a long practice test online before the tests and all the questions come from that! Seriously, He really is not as hard as people make him out to be.

Dr. Saba's class is not hard. You can put little effort in this class and make a C easily. Practice tests online help a lot for exams. Homework online and extra credit help a lot. Seems like a nice man!
He wanted us to put him as hot so here goes, but really a short bald old man but he is funny. If you study a bit a C is easy. If you study the old exams that he gives online and study them well an A is possible.
AS long as you do the the study guide and homework you will get and A or B
Dr. Saba wasn't as bad as I thought he would be based on the ratings. He was difficult and the class is kinda boring, but he helps you. There are online assignments that are worth 20% of your average. You can't get them wrong, so that is an automatic 100. There is so many supplimental work on the internet that really helped me. He uses a 15pt scal
This class is not bad at all. It's pretty easy actually. He gives you a practice test from a test bank that is the same bank he gets questions from. You have to work a little bit for an A, but a B is do-able by just showing up to class and having a clue about life.
By far the worst teacher i have ever had in my life! He uses a slide show that the company that made the book gave him and he just FLIES through it!! He doesnt explain anything and just reads it off the overhead giving you no time to write it down. He makes mathmatical mistakes when he draws graphs and most of the time doesnt make sense.

Dr. Saba REALLY IS NOT BAD! If you GO TO CLASS he will know you and like you better...study the practice exams and you will easially get a B. Econ is a hard and really boring subject so he tries the best he can to teach people who dont give a crap about econ. He probably isnt the easiest econ teacher but he is nice and will help you if you need it!
Dr. Saba really is not a bad guy...he is actually nice and willing to help you if you need it. It is hard to follow him somtimes bc econ isnt the easiest subject but follow the book...if you study the practice exams you will get a B easially. Also, go to class because he notices the people who come and will help you in the end.
worst teacher of my life...i got a B in his class so i am not saying this because of he gave me a bad grade i am taking the time to do this because i really think he is that BAD of a teacher.

I can't harp enough about reading the book, doing the online homework and most of all doing the practice tests. I went to class everyday and just read the book during class and somehow I pulled out an A. But seriously memorize the practice tests esp. for the final!
Dr. Saba is a fun instructor with a very dry subject. Buy the book, read the book. He is more than willing to help you, but if you read the book and use the online resources [homework/quizzes], you will have no problem with this class. Lecture is of dubious utility, but attending is recommended as I think he goes lighter on people he knows.
Dont bother going to class... buy the book..teach yourself because you wont learn anything in class..huge grade curve..ALWAYS print and memorize practice tests he provides..easy to get an A in this class
Not helpful, he took attendance but did not care if you missed class. He wouldn't help me outside of class.
This class is a waste of my time! If you just read the book and do the practice tests you will be fine. But if at all possible take another teacher!
In my opinion, Saba is pretty entertaining. His test are multiple choice. As long as you read the book, do the online h/w [which is 10 extra pts added to your final grade:)] and the practice Qs that he provides, you should do reasonably well. Did i mention the built in scale? 85+=A...class was easy...just take some time to study
Took him in a minimester this summer. It was so easy, easy A. If you can't make at least a B you should reconsider the whole college thing. Just read the book, do the online homework(+10%!!!). Also do the practice test that he gives, there exactly the test. He's a nice and funny dude and made the 1:30 class not so bad.
Very Hard. Tried to speak to him about my grade, even though my attendance was amazing and he didn't care. DO not take his course if you don't have to. Get another teacher.
This man can't teach. Period. It's up to you to teach yourself from the textbook, and he doesn't even make his own tests. He uses some question bank that the textbook company (of course!) has created that consists of 10,000 possible questions! He is unapproachable and makes you feel like an idiot. Do NOT take this class unless you have to!

Saba seems to be a nice enough guy, but i had to work HARD and basically teach myself to get my B. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND TAKING HIM at all costs unless you want to waste your whole semester reading an econ book and doing online homework. (sucky)

Listen, I took this class and Im a Business major. Stay away, Attendance is taken, but its recorded. The class is stupid, read the book. His exams are really hard and he gets mad at you if you dont understand the material. GET OUT!!!
terrible teacher. absolutely awful. treats you like you are an idiot if you have questinos. Unapproachable. Not helpful outside of class. Doesnt even answer any emails you send with questions.
Hard and uninteresting Professor. If you manage to stay awake in class you are most likely lost. Tons of home work that doesn't help. Takes roll and you have assigned seats so pick a place and a person you like because you will be there all semester. Test are multiple choice and not worded very well and are super long. Tests do not reflect Test.

sweet man awful teacher. he really wants students to come to class but it's not mandatory. at the beginning he took attendance and then quit after 2 weeks. don't take this class unless you want to spend the whole time reading the book and teaching yourself.

Pretty easy, gives out practice exams that are basically all you need to study. An 85 is an a, and hw is a huge chunk of easy points
Very EASY class! Microecon is what I took with him. The HW is super easy. He puts practice exams online - USE THEM. Do them once (using the book as a guide), review them once, and youre golden. You'll glide through every test. They're all about 60 questions so it's not stessfull when it comes to time consumption. I'd stay in it, anyone can get an A

Best teacher ever. Even if i got C, but it's only because i didn't really study much. Do never judge a teacher based on how much grade he/she gave to you, sometimes it may because we didn't really do our own job, not b/c the instructor not good enough.
I'm still suffering from his class many years later. Even expensive counseling could not heal the psychological wounds from exposure to his class.
