Very good teacher. Gives you alot of knowledge and is available to help in office hours . Also- he is very n ice and cares for students.

All I can say is WHOA.....And hope u dont ever see him running in town....But overall he is a good teacher...probably ate a lot of paint chips as a kid...

I have never had this professor, however I have heard interesting stories about talking to rocks and such. I just want to say that he seems a bit out there... Yeah way out there... Take him you have to.

his quizzes dont make much sense but he curves them so its not too bad

If there is anyone out there who likes to think and have their curious george questions answered and discussed, TAKE THIS COURSE with Richard. Hes a great professor and a good man.If you have to take soc i highly recomend trying to get into his class.

Richie really likes what he teaches. which is a good thing. He does keep you awake in class. You watch a lot of movie and listen to him talk. Don't really need the book. His test are wack. But he is funny...looks and teachings. FUN class.

Great teacher!! He needs a little getting used to though. He has a lot to say, and really makes you think about the world we live in. Trust me, take him if you can!! (he's really not that bad!!)

This being a hick town and all, a lot of people don't like what he has to say because it hurts them to think. Excellent for sociology. One of PCT's best, he'll open your eyes--if you're not to busy hunting bears or talkin' 'bout yer truck.

Dr. Sahn is a very unique person that takes sometime in getting use to his style. He is very up front and he pulls no punches.....he curves the quizzes and tests......take him you will learn something from him

Dr. Sahn has a gift for open-mindedness, passion and honesty. He's way wacky. Every school should have a prof like this. Don't graduate without taking a class of his. If you're a hick like me, take Urban Sociology. You need it even if you don't think you do.

Dr Sahns class is great. You have a lot of short (5 sentence) reports to do. If you can't get an "A" in this class you aren't trying very hard. He give about 15 points as extra credit and 10 points just for showing up. Over all he's a great Professor. Take him if you need SOC111.

Richard Sahn is a unique person whom is open to any conversation and is a good listener.Richard's class opened my mind up to views I had never once thought about and I learned a lot. His class is the most interesting and comical class i ever had.

The class just started...and so far...it seems to be a very interesting class a long with the prof. cant wait to see what the rest of the semester brings

Great teacher! Welcomes students to his office to chat about class material or if they have any questions in general. Willing to help his students and cares about thier learning and expanding their horizons and willingness to accept new things.

Very wonderful professor. I know a few students don't like him because he's biased, but he makes clear when he is making a point, to tell the class he doesn't mean to offend anyone. He is a very nice professor and loves interacting with students during class. If you do not like his class, you need to be more open minded. :-*

Dr. Sahn is a little strange, but is a good teacher. He does ramble on but makes his point very clear and does not try to shove his ideas down your throat. He tests exactly on what he goes over. He likes to see his students speak out about things talked about in class.

Sahn is a great professor! Most comical class I've had yet! Very easy grader. Easy A! Opened my mind up to things I never questioned before. A little biased but definately does not push any ideas on you. A little strange to look at but definately a great class! I would take it again! 3 very easy book reports. I got all A's and didnt even read!

Dr. Sahn is the man. He's a little weird and leftist, but aren't all sociology teachers? I had this guy in 2001 and still think of him sometimes. He has a great sense of the bizarre and forced me to look at things in ways I never had before. Once complimented a girl so much that she cried...that's powerful stuff!

I had the pleasure of taking Sahn for Sociology and then took the opportunity to take him for Science and Religion. A very intelligent professor who actually knows what's going on in this country and the world. The bias might not be appropriate for the classroom but he isn't overly oppressive with his ideas either. Only morons judge him on his loo

I loved this class. The only way you will learn anything from it though is to approach it with an open-mind. I think Richard is great. It was an easy A, but I learned a lot about the world. I like his hair! I think that it is sexy!

It is not the most exciting class but you do learn alot and it's an easy A. As long as you do the homework assignments and show up you'll get an A. He's a nice guy to but the class gets old after awhile.

Definately eccentric, a bit unstable but an easy A, if nothing else the class is interesting. Easy tests and an easier final,take him if you get a chance

This guy looks and is crazy. He is extremly disordanized. At times it seems as if all heis trying to do is get his view across, but then say it could be. His cons help to prove what he said on day one, sociology is all about questioning everything. Not accepting things at face value. Not always too interesting, but overall good professor.

I think of the first time he walked into class and how everyone laughed. Then I started to listen... No, I did not like everything he said. That was the point. He helped free me from the social programming that I had been huffing every day of my life. Start thinking for YOU. The world will be different if you can handle being honest with yourself.

Brilliant man. If you want your eyes opened to the world, take him. He can be a little biased, but he is always open for discussion. He goes out of his way not to offend anyone. Disheveled appearance and a little disorganized, but it's college. Get over the norms. I will take him again.

Dr. Sahn, is awesome. This class will entertain you. You go on small field trips, have guest speakers, and he will give extra credit. Only 4 quizes/tests and the final. Weekly articles to read and report on. Graded as satisfactory and unsatisfactory. One book report to due. Encourages you opinion, Best Professor at Penn College.

Anyone who does not like this Professor is a sheep of a student. This professor aims to open students eyes and encourage critical thinking. He is HIGHLY philosophical and can teach VERY well if you actually pay attention and take everything with a grain of salt you'll learn SO MUCH. TAKE SAHN!!

Amazing and liberating professor. Totally left winged, but I love it, our nation and especially central PA is too conservative. First day of class he OPENED UP MY MIND and I see the world TOTALLY DIFFERENT. I also love the hair, reminds me of the stereotypical professor; super smart, has money, doesn't care what you think about him.

Very interesting man first impression definatly looks crazy, wants to liberate and desocialize his students. Helps you think outside the box. Also his grading method helps you get the best grade possible for his class. Im taking another one of his courses next sememester.

I loved this class and this professor! He is a very enlightened man. His classes are not for the small minded individual. Give him a chance before you judge him by his appearence. Great guy.

Dr. Sahn is a little out of the ordinary...OK a lot out of the ordinary. He talks about some crazy stuff but most of the time it is very interesting. You do have to write a few papers but only two short tests that are pretty easy. If you can put up with him being a little unique it is a pretty easy A.

Dr. Sahn is an excellent, provocative, and eccentric professor. Even though he never open or read a textbook during lectures, it's MANDATORY to read the textbook prior to attending class because he expects us to apply what you learned from a reading to a lecture during class. Dr. Sahn is helpful if you need help and he's passionate about teaching.

I found Dr Sahn's class to be awesome. He considers it his mission to open your mind to not blindly believe everything you are told, and to question the world around you. If you are game for challenging your beliefs and broadening your mind, Sahn will help! He's a very fair grader, though a little hard to follow. Go to class: you will get an A.

Dr. Sahn is very unconventional, which makes him all the more fit to teach Sociology. He is no doubt knowledgeable on the subject and enjoys teaching it. He presents some interesting ideas and makes you question things you may not have considered before. If you give him the chance, it will be an interesting class. It's sad that not everyone does.
