Weird but funny as hell

Weird guy, really funny though. His class is enjoyable.

awesome guy, hard as hell

Ya, he's weird...but he's a really nice guy. I thought I would really end up hating him, but I'm taking a humanities course with him in the fall. If you come to class, pay attention and do your work, you should pass easily...if not get an A.

If you know how to write, it's a real easy class.

He keeps you intersted in the class, but you have to come to every class. He will give you support with anything that you need.....awesome guy

if you have a good attitude he can be a funny guy. makes fun of everything from students to his mom. just don't "put your business in the street" if you're not open to criticism of any kind. for some reason he likes tina turner and eminem

He is the intresting one. Weird at times but hes very helpful with papers and such if you try in class and ask him out of class. At first I didn't like him with his out of the ordinary daily writtings but they have made me more openminded.

easy class...great teacher...funny guy...don't waste your money on the books though, you don't need them....just look the stories up on the net

BRILLIANT! His ideas are amazing and class is never a bore. There is a lot of demanding work that makes you think though. His unique methods allow you to think while having fun at the same time. Tough grader but will help you out with every paper.

Heard of A.D.D.? His class is rarely boring. Taking one of his classes is worth the expreince. Come prepared to discuss topics. Keep up with the "busy work" and it's not that hard. Still, it's not an "easy" A, but possible.

He is a crazy man, but that is what makes class interesting. He is a tough grader when it comes to papers.

He was definately droped on his head. But he is a very good teacher. Very creative and good at eliciting novel thoughts from his students. You have to get his sense of humor though. Once you do, its very enjoyable. Be respenctful towards him though.

I think the man cares about his students. He is a tough grader but his office is always open for you. If you go to his office he'll tell you exactly what you need to do to improve.

He is a great guy, but his class is only for those who can think for themselves. If you are looking for somone to hold your hand through a course then he is not the professor for you. He is fair grader but you have to know to wirte.

An amazing teacher! His teaching methods make you think, think, think. He will help you in every way you need to get work done. He puts on a great show in class, something comparible to the great Tina Turner.

A demanding teacher who makes you think

Dr. Sanzenbacher is a great professor that actually makes students think in a different way. He has an amazing helpful technique that is helpful, he type his comments on your paper so you can learn from the mistakes. Very helpful and it was a fun class.

Nice guy, very intelligent. He is a hard grader and defiantly makes you think.

Dr. S is an awesome teacher! He definitely grades pretty hard, but his style of teaching is unique and makes the entire class fun. Me and Dr. S connect with each other which makes things alot easier on myself!

Dr. S is definitely the guy who you wonder how he ended up at an aeronautical university. If you don't like English, you probably won't like his class. It's time-consuming and thought-provoking. Although I didn't get the grade I wanted it, I enjoyed his class.

He is a FANTASTIC prof!!!! He entertains and teaches all at the same time. You do have quite a bit of work to do in his class but it is well worth it. Our class even went to a field trip to the jacksonville zoo. GREAT PROF! GREAT PERSON! And above all CRAZY!

Dr. S forces students to use their brains to think, instead of to simply hold their hats. Complaints about this guy are so ridiculous. We are in college (complainers --GROW UP!) and I am happy to be using my brain. Go to his office if you need help. Great prof., great, interesting, fun class!

Self proclaimed hardest grader at this school and abides by his word with no remorse. He is a difficult teacher but he keeps you awake with his enthusiasm for the subject. If you like writing (a ****load) take him.

I have taken 2 Dr S classes now, and he is one of the best profs I have ever had. Intelligent, funny, helpful, INTERESTING. You are going to have to take a HU course, take him. Best one on staff, IMHO. No matter where you go, put your business in the street and throw some bricks. :-P

This gut is AWESOME!!! If you want to laugh and have a good time in class take this man. His class is a tad bit challenging, but its not hard. This man is extremely intelligent and very helpful if you ask. He does like to do things a little "rough" though. Tim Treadwell U R MY HERO!!!

COM122 with this teacher is AWESOME!! SOOO MUCH FUN!!HU142 with this teacher is WAAAY TOO MUCH WORK!!! it affects your grades so much. I'm taking HU142 now so I don't know about the higher classes yet. He is a really great individual though.

Great class, great teacher. lots of fun and interesting things to learn from him. lot's of writing and reading, but if you work for what you want, you can achieve what you set out to do.

LAME Professor ? Not his best ? You have got to be kidding (previous post)!! This guy is awesome! He is engaging, friendly and makes learning fun. Definitely not the typical english class. You have to buy his book for the class, but if you are nice to him and at least try to do the work you will get a good grade in the class. I got B's and C's on all my work and I don't think he even read my final paper and he still gave me an A in the class

Dr S. is the probably the coolest teacher on campus. He is a master at unoffensive sarcasm and really livens the class. If you're looking for an easy class then don't go to him. He'll make your work your ass off. I just hope he marks up your grade at the end. And yeah.. There are three things he loves:1)Bears 2)Onions 3) Switzerland.TAKE HIS CLASS!

Awesome teacher!!! He's funny, witty, entertaining, and incredibly informative. His assignments require you to think outside the box, but you will have fun in and out of his class. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

Ok, so he isn't that bad I suppose. He's strange but its not to bad. I would suggest that if you get offended easily not to take his class, because hes kind of sarcastic and some people may find it offensive. overall hes a good teacher, you just need to be willing to work your ass off to get a good grade.

The Dr. takes his business to the street and for those of you who don't enjoy his class, I feel it's because you simply cannot communicate with someone on such a level as the Dr. The man although interesting at times, is a genius.

Very Cocky, loves to give people a hard time, but is very willing to help during office hours...be ready to work your butt off if you want anything more than a C or D

Dr. S is the man! He is a really funny guy who actually makes students think. If your lazy and don't care about thinking outside the box- don't take him. If you want a class that is interesting where you will actually learn things- take him, but expect to do a good amount of writing and thinking- your in college after all..

Some of the ratings on here are just pitiful; how can you bash a literature class if you can't even use perfect grammar. Illiterate people should not be able to leave ratings (see rating for 3/12). Besides if you are too lazy to take the time and effort to attend a thought provoking class, why even go to college.

His class is a lot of fun, but it is a lot of work at times. It is definitely worth taking. You will learn a lot and look forward to going to class. :-)

A lot of fun, but also demands that you do a fair share of work. If you're a bum and a lame introvert, then this class isn't for you. But if you would like to have fun and actually learn something interesting about both the subject and life, take this prof!

If you have not taken HU-145 yet, TAKE THIS CLASS! Doctor S is an absolute blast to work with, he made me WANT to come to class everyday. If you're taking this because you think it will be an easy A, think again. He WILL make you work for your grade, but you will feel damn proud of yourself in the end and you'll have acctually learned something.

The best professor here. Makes you think, even though there is a lot of work.

GREAT teacher. If you have a brain and have the need to use it then take this class. This teacher is no easy but he forces you to work for your grade instead of coming to the class and have everything shoved down your throat. You don't have lectures you actually have a class. One of the few classes i actually would wake up and go to.

A good professor. We are in college, so to say that he is hard, well than go back to Jr. High. or High school. He is very fun to have as a teacher and makes learning fun. Yes he is hard and difficult at times, but use the office hours and he is really helpful and makes you understand your grade.

Wow, this man is amazing! Makes fun of people a lot so you better have a strong sense of humor :) Loves devils advocate and crazy ideas. His class is so much fun! Do your work, and you will be fine! Speak up in class and he'll love you forever.

Simply the best professor in this school

What an absolutely amazing class. Dr.S. is nothing short of spectacular. He is engaging, has a wonderful sense of humor, keeps you interested and definitely has NOT "lost it" as was mentioned in earlier posts. By far the best class I have taken this semester.

He's a truly great professor. I really enjoy is character and teaching style class. All the heartless ****s that posted before are the ones that failed and can't blame themselves for being lazy. Visit him in the office, and he'll be sure to take care of whatever you need.

I had this professor a year ago and I loved the class. He is kind of kooky, but you learn about life.

Dispate what everyoneelse said, I learned much more than I expected to learn and have decided to keep the text book. The class is difficult but not impossible, I learned a lot of random stuff but other profs would be less intense.

He is very cultivated and this class is not recommended for simple-minded people. He will chalenge you in many ways and you need to be motivated. He teaches at COLLEGE level not highschool.

Agree with the last 2 responses. This is a real college class where you think, think, think AND LEARN. Class is never dull but exciting.

He's a great guy who really knows his stuff. He may be a little obsessed with Switzerland and "Dr. Solomon" but he knows how to engage students and get them to think. This is definitely a real college class where you actually have to think.

Dr. S is completely batshit insane, and possibly the best professor at embry-riddle. He is intelligent and hilarious. I failed his class last semester (I had a good grade until for some reason I decided not to do the final paper.)I had to take the class again and specifically requested him, which says a lot about the quality of this professor.

I would def take him again if I get the chance

Great professor, took two of his classes and enjoyed both of them. His teaching style is great and keeps you engaged. If you follow his guidelines and seek help when needed, it will make it that much easier for you.

Make sure to take all of his snide comments with a grain of salt. He is truly an amazingly witty guy, and you don't want to get on his bad side. make sure you see him during his office hours, and he'll basically pre-grade your paper beforehand.

Dr. S is one hot teacher at his age. He takes effort in creating handouts for students, helping us to grasp the subject better. Knowing that Rome isn't built in a single day, Dr. S understands the struggles students face in writing a documented paper. His instructions may not be clear at times which is quite frustrating. Check your inbox regularly!

Great teacher. He is very helpful and he is always smiling even when something very annoying happens. However, the only one thing that wasn't very great about him is that he gave ZERO easiness to international student. He treated all international student as if they learned the poetry and the literature before. Other than that he is a greatteacher

Great teacher to have for an early class if you want to actually listen. If you want to sleep, forget it. He keeps things very interesting. Everyday is a surprise. I had four big assignments that were not very hard, he prepares you VERY well. Just pay attention to when things are due.

I hear he's going to retire. Sad to hear this...he's so good in the classroom. there will never be another one like him.

Professor Sanzenbacher is an enthusiastic person, very happy and unique. His teaching is quite abstract though and hard to grasp ideas of. I have to say though he is very helpful if you visit him during his office hours for help in writing your paper. He takes attendence and participation (more then 6 you fail). Fairly decent teacher.

Dr.S is a great teacher. He will help you with anything you need. He has a great sense of humor. Everyday in his class is a discussion for the most part. His grading standards are a little harsh on essays but thats about it. This is his last year of teaching though.

He is very interesting. I had his 815am class and I was excited to get up and go there. He makes everyone engage in the discussion. Attendance is a big deal, you can only have 2 unexcused abs. any more and you fail. It is his last semester (Spring 2012)and he told us he will take it light so I recommend him. It was a very fun class to say the least

I took Dick's class 25 years ago. He excelled at challenging the way you think, forcing you to deviate from the norm. The "norm" being the stuff spoon fed to us by every other learning institution, our only requirement being to regurgitate it up on cue. Thank you for your boundless energy and challenging, if not confrontational, style.

He is an outstanding professor. I learned a lot in his class and read new books. I had to re read books from high school and I understood even more reading it a 2nd time. He is always in his office if u need assistance with a paper. He always passes out a paper with clear cut criteria for what he wants on ur essays. HAVE A WONDERFUL RETIREMENT DR.S

He is by far one of my favorite professors. He keeps the entire class engaged throughout the lecture and has us actually interested in the work. More professors should teach like him. Not much work for the class but if you don't do the assigned readings it will upset him and he may not be as lenient on you in the future. Overall GREAT CLASS

This professor is quite an interesting one. His personality is unique and funny and his lectures are fun and you can be found often sleepless for most of the time. Participating and being vocal in the class is a must to make a good impression of yourself, to him, as it is important to get on his good side. Overall not much work, easy, and fun.

Really cool professor

No one is like Dr. S. Unbelievable energy in the class. As he says, he likes to do it nice and rough. You need to take his directions seriously. He's a no-nonsense professor with a great sense of humor.

Simply the Best.

I honestly loved his class so much. He's really funny and a nice guy. He is a tough grader and you really have to listen to what he says in class. But if you show up to office hours and get feedback from him, it makes it so much easier. We only had few things in the gradebook: 3 papers, a group project, and participation that counted for grades.

Dr. S is absolutely funny and makes the class really enjoyable. The heaviest benefit of taking a course with him is attending office hours to get feedback on papers and other written assignments. I would a 100% take another course with him.
