This teacher sure can teach! He quizzes you on all the chapters so that when the final comes everything is familiar. A lot of interaction with the students so that we really learn.

Sexual inuendos run rampant with this sexually repressed moron. He is as ambigously **** as they come. He actually tries to relate marketing to sex, this man is devious, women watch your backs around this****.

He's a nice teacher but seems to favor students. He's a VERY picky marker and needs DETAILS on all assignments. Take him rather than Wayne Tebb!!

Simon is an awesome guy. He marks hard, but he should. Advertising is an extremely hard business. I'm pretty sure the people who complain about him here are the same people who got 60% on their generic advertising projects.

This is to all the girls who weren't "favored", the boys who felt left out BOO HOO. Richard is impeccable, caring, and a master of marketing in all it's facets. Women have no worries with him; he's a devoted teacher, father, and family man.

People either love or hate Richard. The people who dislike him usually complain about life in general. It's Marketing - LEARN TO WORK WITH PEOPLE! He's got a good sense of humour, which most of these bad reviews could use. Your mark: input = output.

he will make class as exciting as class can be, which helps you learn as you are going to want to hear what he is talking about, however still a hard class with a big group project

tends to ramble on and go off topic. Overall a good teacher, very informative, for an introductary course learned more than I was expecting. Midterm is hard, final is easy

Great teacher. really interested in what he is teaching. gets really involved in the lectures and provides all your notes for you.

Super nice teacher. He explains everything really well and makes the class interesting. He makes the class interactive and fun. 25% of course comes from 5 easy M/C quizes. The exams are a little harder though.

I really like Mr. Simon and enjoy his classes alot! I think he does talk alot but it makes it a fun class, Did notice he was a hard marker on midterms! Overall, this is one of my favorite classes!

I don't understand why his ratings are so low. I thought he was quite fair and made the attempt to relate the subject to everyday life for the class to understand more clearly. His class was fun and probably the only class I didn't want to miss. Take him if you enjoy a fun, interactive class.

Richard is a great teacher and you really learn a lot in his classes. He's very enthusiastic about what he teaches, which makes class enjoyable. A hard marker, but he'll tell you what you need to improve on for future exams or projects; good learning experience. Really nice guy too.

He's a great teacher. He's very rush rush in class, but will stop to answer questions. He's also motivational.

Such a nice guy, really loves what he teaches. Ive never seen him angry or put anyone down for a stupid answer. You should get at least 90% on his Quiz's if you read his 3 page notes... really easy to get a good grade if you try

heres the deal: you get what you put in to this class. if you aren't particularly bright, creative, mature minded, independent or forward thinking you'll tank. this class raises the bar/sets the standard for all those interested in marketing. sorry thats life. Simon's a great teacher and the class is doable if you have the skills to be in the field

Richard is a good teacher. I had him for 1199, and now I have him from 2360 adn 2401. He is the teacher who encouraged me to be a marketing student. He's tough, but if you work hard enough in the class and do the readings, you'll do fine. He also gives incentives to work hard in the second year courses, which I think is nice and fair.

Ok. So he is a HARD marker, you have to spend hours on a 5% project in order to get a good grade. But you will learn a lot from him and he is also very organized.

Yes, Simon is an extremely hard marker and it feels like it can be next to impossible to get a good grade. But other than that he is a nice guy and you really do learn a lot.

eventhough Richard is a hardmarker,he is actually a fair professor. that's not true he wants to fail everyone in class. i worked hard on my term project and got an A. As long as u understand and put effort on class.it's still possible to get an high mark

OH man those pants NEED to go! Other than that, Marketing 1199 is one of the only classes I actually look forward to. He relates concepts in chapter notes (which are incredibly handy for quizzes) to real-life situations. I didn't get a bad grade, but I know I could have done more. Kind of cheesy, but at least he's not a boring robot. Good guy.

GREAT TEACHER.. I've had him many times and he makes class fun. He gives away bonus marks like crazy for selling and sales only. His tests are pretty easy. Multiple choice quiz's. you just have to study and work hard and its easy marks

Very nice guy, a little too nice. Tests are hard (all multiple choice) and require reading very long chapters multiple times.

Before I entered this class, I didn't think I would like marketing but Richard made this class very enjoyable. His exams are quite challenging (be careful on reading the questions carefully), but the class activities are fun and interesting and you learn a lot. Do your homework, pay attention and participate in class and you'll do fine.

Don't buy the text book everting can be learned on the power points. Do your prospecting... its worth it. Basically if you generate money you will do great!

Richard is so entertaining, I could listen to him talk all day. Also hilarious, in that he can't remember most students names. Very knowledgeable in the subject and engaging during class, would definitely recommend and am eager to take another class with him in the future.

Fairly easy class with no homework but chapter quizzes every second week (only 10 questions). Partner project as part of your final mark. Lectures are a bit long but in class group work helps solidify chapter concepts. Nice prof, answers any questions and fairly easy class.

Richard is like your dorky dad who makes corny jokes that only he laughs at and embarrasses you in front of your friends - and I'm saying that in a loving way, its funny lol. Dedicates a decent amount of marks to participation, so if you're shy be prepared to lose out on marks. Friendly, happy, knowledgeable in his field. Gives quizzes so read up!

Love this guy. So sweet. So funny. Very helpful and really wants to see his student do well. There is a quiz every other week on the material covered in class so you do have to show up. He is very good teacher and really explains things well

Richard's a fantastic instructor who uses real-life examples and hands-on activities to teach students how to think like a marketer. He also makes an effort to know his students, which encourages you to participate and get to know your peers since you're not just a random student in his class!

I don't know why people are hating on this guy.. He is amazing take his classes! You will not find another professor like him. If you are a decent student and you love to learn and have a great time doing it this professor is for you. He's an incredible guy I will take as many courses with him as possible

he is one of the better, but not the best profs at kpu. his lectures are good but he makes you work for the grade. the exams are not difficult, if you cram the textbook and the group project is difficult if you don't have good team. make sure you get noticed by him and he will make the work a bit less challenging.

Simon was a nice prof. Like most classes, do your reading, and homework and this class is easy A. Participation is huge for this class though. I lost a big percentage for not speaking up enough. Don't delay on the sales project either, it's more time consuming than you would think.

Very understanding and fair with marking. Course syllabus is very straight forward. Make sure to read the text and youll pass.

This is my 5th class I’ve taken with this professor. Syllabus is always extremely clear and concise, along with assignment instructions. Best instructor if you’re a marketing major and are passionate about the subject. If not, you may struggle as he doesn’t “hold your hand” through the class per say.

He is super amazing, do not believe on this rating. He has clearing grading criteria, very easy grader. He is the best, very funny and knowledgble

He is absolutely awesome. He actually lectures, not just based on textbook material but on real world experiences. Very kind prof who cares about his students.

Richard is a professor who makes his classroom a family. Never in my time at KPU have I had a professor who takes the time to know each student's name and ensure they succeed. He truly loves his job and is always in a good mood. A tremendous role model and professor for professional selling. Thank you Richard

Pre-recorded lectures, only first and last class were synchronous (along with the MT/Final). Straightfoward class, just do the work and you'll be fine. 1 big group project at end that's a paper, but u have like the whole semester to do it. Easy quizzes and the final/mt are MC and a writing portion. nice guy. will take him again
