Overall, the professor tries to make the course as easy as possible and not time consuming. If you attend class, participate, do the readings, put effort into the papers, and prepare for the midterm and final, you should be able to earn a good grade. The professor does want you to succeed.

This professor truly cares about you, your grade, and your success. He does everything possible to be helpful and available for his students. His classes require you to participate and voice your opinion to help with the discussion of topics covered. He has opened my eyes and I plan to take more philosophy courses because of him. LOVE THIS CLASS!

Although he is sort of a tough grader, he gives clear guidelines and examples to follow to ensure you have the best chance possible of succeeding. Participation matters in this class which I feel is good because it gives students an incentive to pay attention and focus in class. Overall he is a great professor who cares about his students.

You need to make sure you attend his class in order to pass, and he does give a participation grade. However, he understands if you are sick and need a day off. You have a couple papers and many lectures in the Bioethics course I took, but as long as you are paying attention, asking questions, and using his office hours, you'll pass with no trouble

Richard is very dedicated to his teaching and he has a lot of passion for the topic. There is a good weight of in class work and only 3 short papers. If you are looking to become educated on the topic, definitely take it with him!

Richard was a great professor because he knew what he was talking about. Biomedical Ethics is a hard concept to grasp but he definitely made it easier to understand by using lots of case studies. There are reading quizzes every time class meets but the readings are never more than 5-10 pages and quizzes are easy with only 2-3 questions per quiz.

Good guy. Class is not particularly interesting, but he clearly cares, and grading is not too bad. Attendance is mandatory, and he will quiz on assigned readings. A solid professor, but don't expect life-changing inspiration.

He makes this class so fun and you learn a lot. I would recommend if you have to take biomedical ethics to make sure you have him as a teacher. You have reading quizzes, three short papers, and the exams aren't too terrible. He's a grad student so knows the struggle of college and is super understandable. What I liked about his style was he would not correct you immediately when you are wrong so that you could work toward understanding which to me is what helps people learn concepts better. The ethical content of this class doesn't fall directly inline with the practice of occupational therapy however it is an enlightening course. If your an OT student prepare to focus on content that doesn't directly apply to your major.

It's a discussion class he tries to get everybody involved. He's nice, very clear, helpful, answers emails, always opened for office hours. I would recommend this class you have 3 papers but they are each one page long, you have required readings and get quizzed on them but they are easy just read. Two exams and you are graded on participation.

Professor Szabo is extremely caring about his students, and clearly seems to enjoy being with everyone and getting everyone to think. He is easily approachable so do not be afraid to communicate.

I have heard this course was difficult and waited till the last semester to take it. Definitely take it with this professor. My experience with Philosophy in the past has been bad. I was nervous and not looking forward to coming to class because of that reason. However, I did attend class because Richard made the lecture worthwhile and helped me become successful.

He is a great teacher but be ready to do a lot of homework. He makes the lectures entertaining. He does not like to use e-learning so its a lot of paper homework. So if you like to know your grade in class you wont know unless you ask.

There is a lot of homework in this class that involves reading the book. So, I would definitely rent/purchase the book. The readings are not too long which is nice and he doesn't assign homework that takes up a majority of your time. They are quick but sometimes challenging assignments. I would take this class again.
