Hes a pretty good teacher. The only thing is his stuff isnt posted online, so if you lose a paper, u better make sure u ask for another one! Pretty easy stuff as long as you go to class... lets you use notes on test sometimes.
Very unclear when lectures, jumps from one topic to another, yet if keep a good eye on the board and take good notes A is garantee...very little out of the book on the test. Expect random details to land on the Chapter test.
He doesn't organize his class very well, but he is helpful. He is funny.
Easy. Gives you answers to the tests. Just take notes. Slightly more neurotic than I'm used to. Strange in a funny kind of way. I dunno.
Very funny and smart
He's a good teacher -- he explains concepts thoroughly (what little CONCEPTS there are), and will help you if you ask for it. Basically gives you the answers to tests, lets you use notes on the final (which is NOT comprehensive). Do the work you'll get an A. Yes, a little crazy, but funny...doesn't look you in the eye when you talk to him tho.
TEBBETTS IS AESOME AND IS A COOL TEACHER. HE EXPLAINS THINGS TO GREAT DETAIL AND IS VERY APPROACHABLE AND HAS A PASSION FOR WHAT HE IS TEACHING.
Tebbetts is the man, too bad he doesn't teach many classes. If you need another class or just interested, take Intro to Geography with Tebbetts.
Lots of useless interesting facts. sometimes he put things on test that isnt covered. kinda weird at times but cool though
Man tebbets is really random...he is definilty not going to keep your attention but he is an A if you go to class.
I really like how he teaches. go to class, seriously. he takes attendance at random. he has pop quizzes every week too - easy ones, and you can usually do them with a friend in class. gives lots of time for tests, quizzes, assingments. very fair grading. prepares you with everything for tests. go to class and take good notes, and you'll do great.
GO TO CLASS!! if you are the type that skips class a lot then try another teacher. if you go to class everyday you should at least be able to sleep your way to a B. tests/quizzes/homework is very simple and straightforward. no tricks or questions that are even remotely hard. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!
Pretty easy geography teacher. Gives outline and some questions that will be on the exam. Tends to start talking in very low voice at times.
this guy is like Kramer from Seinfeld, hes off the wall, but simple class. He lectures most days and it's very easy to space out so you might find yourself a few days before tests thinking "whats even going to be on this thing?"
He's funny and it's a very easy class as long as you do the assignments. He'll make you laugh at least :)
easy class just makes sure you take notes cuz a lot of it is whats gonna be on the tests, show up for pop quizzes and thursday discussions- an A is guaranteed
Great teacher. Very entertaining. Put in effort and study for the quizzes/tests = A. Class not too hard at all. Highly recommend taking his class! =)
he is quite okay actually,,,,but is just okay..dun expect to learn too much, his paper is easy n the note is very important as well. if u really studied what he mention in class, A is a piece of cake
The first few weeks are SO overwhelming and you think you're gonna end up dropping, but I have one week left and Im so glad I didn't. His first exam is so easy and then the second one kind of hits you in the face, but over all he's a cool guy. Talks a lot about Politics though and that can get annoying. Easy class. Just study for the tests!
He is funny, and his class is easy. Just study the notes he gives in class and an A is easy to get. He gives lots of hints about his tests and quizzes. You just need to pay attention. I really liked this class and recommend it to anyone.
This guy is a pretty interesting character. Sometimes I had a really hard time keeping up with him when he started rambling. Overall though, I thought he was entertaining, and the class was easy (with good attendance). He gives you a lot of the test questions before hand, and you don't need to do much outside reading or homework in general.

VERY easy class if you attend regularily and participate. Hilariously entertaining man. Expect him to ramble sometimes and say some really random stuff, I think the best i've ever heard him say was: "OK everybody, put your clothes back on and pay attention." He said that to obviously to gain the attention of the class. It worked.
This teacher LOVES to hear his own voice. Will ramble on about nothing for as long as you let him. I went through the whole quarter and didn't buy the books or atlas and I made it out fine. Gives you exam questions before the exam, so unless you have no motivation to succeed, you will do fine in this class. Very easy and very rudimentary.
Pretty entertaing teacher... Will tell you before hand what is on the test. A very short paper (make sure you use paragraphs!) and a presentation with a group. LOVES his learning communities (groups). He's fine though... super easy.
Tebbetts has really good vibes. He rambles on and on, but is overall a nice guy that means no harm. i took geography of pnw and i loved the class. a lot of people eventually stopped coming and i felt bad. he is an easy grader and appreciates you being there. he makes geography fun and i hope i got an A!
Tebbetts was a bad teacher and didn't really know what he was talking about. The class itself was pretty easy. The map quizzes are super easy but the exams are a little more difficult.
loves to hear himself talk, but a nice guy with stupid jokes. the class is not demanding at all. easy A for sure with limited effort was some partner assigments like presintaions. if your looking for an interesting class dont take it.
Awesome teacher! I learned a lot from his class and it was actually interesting. I've never like anything pertaining to social sciences until his class. Tests/quizzes are straight from notes and reading.
Reccomended for those serious about learning.
If you want an easy A take him. If want to learn something don't. His lectures are done off wikipedia and he shows a few little videos. His map quizzes are easy and his exams are well it depends on how often you come to class.
Class was a lot of fun. Go to class every day and you'll get an A. Unless you're sleeping.
Best professor ever! Cites of wikipedia, which is awesome! Easy A. People should stop complaining about how easy it is, it's a good GPA booster and electives credit.
Richard is a interesting character! He's all over the place during lectures , but gives you the information you need for tests/quizzes! And hes a nice guy and somewhat funny! His class is easy, 3 quizzes , 2 hw assignments and 4 tests. Overall easy class!
This was an easy class. You will actually learn things if you try to, the lectures were interesting enough to keep me awake. Textbook is used almost everyday. My only complaint is the large amount of "team" work. Typically you'll get stuck with people that either don't do their share, bring work in late, or are too timid to speak their mind.
Real nice guy. I took his Geography 250 of the PNW class and it was fairly easy to succeed. Definitely recommend.
If you want an easy A, take him.About 15 minutes of the class times are used on"Work with your partners". But he is helpful in all.
Well done. He let students pass this class easily
TAKE THIS CLASS WITH A FRIEND. Go to class and you'll never really have to do anything except a little study. He's nice but the class set up is awful.
Cake walk, he teaches to the quizzes and exams. Show up, take notes and you will get the grade you earn.
The level of difficulty for this class is low, as long as you attend regularly, either take notes or read the book, and do the work, which isn't difficult at all. There is some group work involved. He is helpful, so long as you ask him. He talks pretty fast and jumps subjects frequently, which can cause him to be unclear. The atlas is used a lot.
The teacher likes talk jokes. He will give students the range about the test and high-line the important parts. I just memorized high-line parts. It is a easy class.
Took the online course. Good and helpful Teacher. organized notes and easy exams. Pretty easy online class. I think what I liked most is that he did a lot of traveling and seems to easily relate to all the topics. so he makes it interesting.
Easy. Rich is a good guy, and overall a good teacher. He knows what he is talking about and makes loves his subject. He wants everyone to succeed so he does his best to make it happen for you. If you put in average work and study before quizzes/tests, you'll do fine. Not always clear on assignments, so ASK QUESTIONS. He does his best at answering.
Took GEOG 100 with him the previous quarter. Liked him a lot as well as geography so I took this class. It was interesting but not as difficult as I expected. Same set up as GEOG 100. Come to class, ask questions, and laugh at his jokes. Only some are lame.
Took online. Easiest class I've taken at BC. Didn't learn much but it's a GPA booster. Never studied.. Barely read the chapters. Lots of extra credit.
Awesome teacher, just really spacey in his teachings. He tends to mumble a lot and makes a lot of bad jokes but it's pretty entertaining if you're awake. Read the textbook and use the website ilike2learn website for map quizzes, super helpful. He tells you main points to know in class then go home and study those main things. No nightly readings.
This teacher is awesome! You MUST have the textbook for this class, because you will be making your studyguides from it. Map quizzes are super easy as long as you review, and the tests aren't that hard either. He goes over EVERYTHING you need to know before the tests with page #s so go to class EVERY day. Attendance=success in this class.
He was confusing and I wish I had dropped.
Rambles a lot, but you'll always find what you need to know since he gives page numbers and notes sometime in the middle of the rambling. Also gives out need-to-know page numbers a day or two before the test. Easy map quizzes, worst one is dropped. Rich is a great person, though.
This is the worst class I've ever taken. He's very unclear in his lectures and rambles on and on. He is willing to set appointments to meet with him however does not take into consideration what you ask of him. I asked for a study guide for the tests and he never did so. I wouldn't recommend this class.
nice teacher
He is a super nice teacher but rambles ALOTTT. Makes it hard to focus on what he's talking about. But gives you page numbers and the things you need to know for tests. Gives a review guide for exams and you are allowed a cheat sheet which is helpful.
Nice teacher, but he rambles A LOT which makes it very hard to pay attention in class. He does give you a lot of notes for the test, but reading the book is crucial if you want to get an A on his exams. ALWAYS do the discussions because they'll help you on exams. Always show up to class because you do not want to miss anything, trust me.
He's the best instructor that I ever had at BC. I swear it's not that hard to get an A in his class at all. You have to study for the map quiz (he'll drop two if you didn't do well), show up everyday because most of the notes in class will appear in the exam. Make sure you prepare the cheat sheet well, and do all of his extra credits if there is :)
Of all the teachers at Bellevue College Richard is my favorite. His lectures were great! Some other students thinks he rambles, but every topic we discuss in class IS ON THE TEST! That is probably why they didn't get a good grade. Richard uses the textbook a lot so there are no surprises on exams. I would take his Geog100 class again if i could.
Tebbetts is honestly an excellent instructor. People say he talks a lot but to be honest I have had instructor way worse ,in terms of talking, than him in this College. He is always there for you and is very helpful. He is very open minded and has a nice personality.
Tebbetts is a very good instructor. If you have a problem tell him and he will work with you. He works straight from the book and he has a tendency to ramble. He is very clear about testing material. His tests are simple bu challenging if you don't read. He is inclined to give extra credit to those who show up.
The class was really interesting. He gives long lectures and honestly the class was more like an online class since we were testing out this online textbook. He seemed pretty okay, there were a lot of quizzes, but they weren't really that hard.
Honestly one of my most favorite teachers at Bellevue College EVER. Class was always entertaining with his wonderful personality and lame jokes. Always there to help and the nicest guy. Easy to get an A as long as you show up and take notes. Map quizzes were not very difficult. Neither exams everything on it is from his lecture.
He is an awesome teacher and very helpful and understanding. Don't take this class with friends because he will separate people to make sure you are by people you don't know. Tests and homework are easy, map quizzes are hard, nothing like he says they will be.
Richard is a nice man and a good teacher. He's a odd when it comes to lectures, but he takes the notes for you and really tries to care for all of the students.
I have to say he is a very very nice teacher. Always cares about students. However, too much works... there is ton of works to review for the final!!! Final Images + at least 25 multiple choices + few articles to study. He gave us 48 images to review, and he would choose 10 of 48 images for the final. For me, I spent tooooo much time for final.
The last comment is stupid. He had really only about 8 topics to review, 6 pictures per topic, so as long as you know 8 topics and know the corresponding pictures you would be fine. He pretty much told the class EXACTLY what would be on the final from each article, and the multiple choice questions were the same as those in the quiz and ch. review.
Great teacher, would definitely recommend. He is incredibly understanding and flexible. Everything on the exams is reviewed in class. He is willing to answer any question, and does everything possible to help his students get the best grade possible. Don't procrastinate on map quizzes and you won't have a problem. TAKE HIS CLASS!
Rich is really nice but a confusing instructor. The lectures have a lot of information on them and he tells you where to go where to find the things that will be on the midterm. If you are a DRC student, I would be careful with him because I had a hard time with the note taker in this class. Have a lot of patience with this instructor.
Honestly the best teacher I have ever had, he is the most engaging and entertaining individual I have ever met, I am always attentive and paying attention dutifully in this class.
I am a running start student, and got a good review for Rich from another classmate. he's a great teacher and clearly knows a lot about the material he's teaching, but I was just previewing the other classes for WInter Quarter while also having the e-textbook up when he picked up my computer and put it on his desk. A good experience otherwise.
Richard is a good instructor, and he is so funny. However, his mid-term is so hard, it is so difficult to get a good grade. The final exam is very easy because he picks all questions from the textbook's quiz.
He's a cool guy. Wants his students to do well and will definitely help you if you need it. I would recommend taking him.
He is the Best Geography Teacher at Bellevue College. Just Prepare for the quiz and exam.
Good Teacher in Geography 100 class.
Lectures are literally all over the place, there's no point in going to class except participation (which he grades based on attendance). But it's an easy A class
He could make geography more interesting inside the class that class is little bit boring but it's an Easy A
Richard Tebbets one day will be talking about geography the next day were watching japanese sumo wrestling. If you have friends in the class you will pass every in class quiz with 60/60 the only hard thing in this class.
Rich is a great teacher! He is very knowledgeable and cares about his students. He has a fun personality, and is one of the best teachers I had at Bellevue College!
I have learned a lot in this class. Richard is a great instructor and knows a lot. There were 15 quizes and 1 final. This teacher definitely cares about his students and is very helpful. Also, his classes are fun! I would recommend taking his classes.
Do you guys remember John Green from Crash Course? The videos we used to watch in high school history? This literally him lol
I appreciate good feedback, and Professor Tebbetts provided feedback on every single assignment, which really makes me take notice. I took this class during the COVID pandemic so it was entirely online, but was certainlty one of the more enjoyable ones. He does provide a lot of content to read for discussion posts (they're usually short though)
I love this teacher! He is very easygoing and friendly really wants to see you succeed. I would absolutely take this class again, its an easy A and has a great techer
Rich is a phenomenal instructor. His course modules were a little complex but jampacked with resources and information. He gives great feedback and really made me feel involved in an asynchronous online class. Really wish I could've taken his class in-person. Very knowledgeable and is a truly worldly man. Would recommend to just about anyone.
Rich is a nice and thoughtful teacher. It's an easy A class! There is no reason you can't get an A from him. He always gives thoughtful feedbacks.
He always answered your questions really rudely and never wanted to help. Don't take him!!!
His work is a bit too long for such a basic geography class, but my biggest issue with this class was that he has a final exam. It's not hard, but it takes long to prepare, and it was just needless stress added to the end of the quarter. This class in my opinion, is too basic and just doesn't justify having a final.
Rich really made my summer class-wise. He knows the subject matter and really cares!
The discussion are clear. The weekly quizzes broaden by knowledge. Taking him again next quarter.
Professor Tebbetts is a nice teacher who gives very encouraging feedback. This class consisted of a discussion and quiz each week. The quizzes are directly based off of reading that he provides, making it pretty easy as long as you read it all. For discussions, you just need to write a few paragraphs based off an article and respond to a peer.
Awesome! Rich is super understanding whenever I needed to turn in something late, even quizzes. He's a great guy and obviously passionate about what he does. Definitely would take another class with him.
Nice dude, pretty easy class, I'd gone more in depth in my high school APHUG class. As long as you participate you'll pass
Prof. Rich is a very kind and thoughtful teacher. His class is super easy, nothing too crazy, with weekly quizzes and discussions based on readings he assigns, 2 PPT projects, and an easy final. He encourages different perspectives in discussions and always leaves a nice comment about your work. Would take him again!
Prof. Tebbetts teaches via LOTS and LOTS of articles, which was nice since it was free and mostly relevant to the times, but I also feel that a textbook would've been more organized and concise. Twice, he gave us extra points on our final grade because quizzes didn't line up with info in the articles, which was nice. Seems very friendly.
Awesome Professor
Very very nice professor and also he's super funny. Would take again.
Good professor
Super easy grader and super understanding. The weekly modules are set up very neatly and there isn't too much work. Just easy some weekly quizzes based on maps or the textbook and a weekly discussion (takes more time to read all the articles). Textbook is hard to read, but you can skim through it to find stuff for quizzes pretty easily.
Richard Tebbetts is a wonderful instructor. He does not ask for too much, provides clear instructions, and he is easy to reach if you need help. The only complaint I have is that he does not offer extra credit, so if you fall behind it is difficult to catch back up. Overall, he is a great instructor, and I would recommend him to anyone.
an easy class so long as you invest enough time to pay attention to what he's looking for + go through the textbook. he's friendly and does not grade harshly. coursework is repetitive but that isn't a bad thing in this class. if you're thorough, it's an easy A.
The professor was always available to help. Quizzes, weekly discussion posts and sparse presentations are extremely easy and require little time investment. Take this class for a free A.
Uses a textbook, but not really useful for the course. Reading mostly comes from given articles and news, which then is used for discussion. I usually skim them, reading in depth would take hours. He is very easygoing and caring, very well traveled which is nice for a geography class. Overall knows what he's talking about and would take again.
Really nice guy, was very easy to contact. Had a very interesting textbook. Quizzes were very easy 100% textbook based. Were some discussions. They were a bit hard, but they also 100% textbook/readings based, and even if you just wright your opinion on the matter with no reference to textbook, you would still get a high grade.
Very kind and caring! Lots of reading but the articles are interesting. There are weekly quizzes and discussion posts. Points-based class, not hard to pass as long as you engage and do the work! One final at the end. Also provides resources and reaches out often!
He was great, and I had no issues throughout the course. Even with no late work accepted, he was understanding and respectful of students' time. He used an online textbook with 1-2 tests each week. As long as you read the material, getting an A was easy, and you could do the book tests as many times as needed, that made learning and passing easy.
