Professor Thomas is excellent. Funny guy. He is a pretty chill guy just do all of his lecture videos and VCQ's and you will do perfectly fine. If your lazy you won't pass but if you do all of his assignments you will do just fine. If you need help with any assignments just send him an email he responds real quick, usually an hour at the most.

This class is pretty great, he is really chill and down to earth. Do all of the VCQ's and write all of the papers and you will pass. The professor is really funny and he knows what he is doing. Professor Thomas is extremely knowledgable. Take his class you won't regret it. If you have any questions just set an appointment with him and meet up.

This professor is really amazing. He offers a ton of extra credit and really cares about your well-being. He does make you watch lectures at home but they're corny and funny. If you work hard and show motivation, you will get an A.

Prof. Thomas is a great teacher! You have three major papers to do and as long as you do them correctly you WILL receive an A! Also, you have video quizzes that are really easy and as long as you attend his class and participate you will pass with no problem. I will recommended this to anyone!

I would definitely take this professor again! Seems to really care about his students and their progress in the class. He has no problem in helping you out when it comes to papers and assignments! VCQ and video quizzes are easy and helps a lot if you take notes from them! Would recommend to anyone.

His videos for the VCQ and quizzes are funny which makes me as a student pay attention to them even more! I would refer him to anyone who needs to take a composition class! He cares about his students and offers his assistance to any questions you have!

Prof. Thomas is a great teacher. He gives you the info needed to create great essays. We had three papers and to have more than that is too much honestly because those papers involve major critical thinking and a lot time. He actually reads your paper and gives typed and audio feedback. He's super nice and we have easy quizzes online. Take him !!!

If you are looking for an easy A, take his class. He is very polite and understanding and gives you good feedback. Never thought ENC 1102 will be much easy. I recommend taking him. Great Professor

Loved Richard's english class. It was gamified with a leaderboard and boss battles and stuff you might find in a video game. Very creative and helpful teacher. I learned a lot.

I had a hybrid class meaning lectures online and work in class. Great teacher, really kind and understanding. Assignments due every saturday and monday. No tests. Three 3 pages+ essays for the entire class. A lot of discussion boards. Any problem with grades hes willing to look over. Grading is clear and update - I would say work difficulty is 7/10

I have had the most sincere pleasure enrolled in Professor Thomas' class; it's a shame he is unable to teach English Comp 2 next semester. The lecture videos are creative and fun, he invests in quality feedback, and the assignments (while requiring thoughtfulness and perspective) have acquired me better writing skills. I'm very impressed with him.

This teacher is amazing! Our class was even gamified (online) which made it very interesting. He gives great feedback and really shows interest in you as a student. Gives PLENTY of opportunity to receive extra credit. His grading scale is awesome, you work from the bottom up. I've learned so much from him this semester!

I would really recommend this class! Professor Thomas's Flex online class is very easy. The assignments in this class only help your grade! There are 3 papers that are required for this class. As long as you follow the instructions for each paper, you will get a good score. All the assignments and extra credit are super easy! 10/10 teacher!

He's super fun and energetic. I had a pretty good time attending class. There's quite a bit of HW, but do it on time and there are extra benefits. He has this gamified system for his class which actually works to the student's advantage. There are three essays total. Pay attention, do the work, and you'll do good on these papers.

Really cool and understanding, you have until three total sections throughout the course and you have until the end of each to submit everything. Only three papers. you really have to try to fail. if you dont miss a class you dont have to take the final lots of extra credit options.

The class is gamified which is great when you're a competitive person since it gives that extra push to get higher on the leaderboard. He gives a clear breakdown of every paper so as long as you look at the handouts, you can get a pretty good grade on the assignments. Overall the class is great and different than you're typical comp class.

Great teacher definitely one of the best Valencia has to offer. Lots of assignments and lots of extra credit opportunities. Late work is excepted up until a midterm or final paper is do. It's a gamified class with xp points, adventures, YouTube lectures, and magical achievements. You'll have lots of fun, just do the work and you'll pass.

He is a great teacher! Honestly, he is a tough grader but will never give a bad grade unless you deserve it. He is explains everything very clearly. If you don't miss more than 2 classes you don't have to take the final!

I was worried about the class being gamified but it ended up being pretty cool and definitely works to your advantage. Besides the games he's a really good teacher who cares and knows what he's doing, practically a walking dictionary. He really cares about the class and works hard. GIVES THE BEST FEEDBACK!!!

Professor Thomas is very caring and passionate. He makes sure to make the class interesting and to always help in any way he can. There are 4 major papers, one short quiz almost every week, and about 2 assignments per week (pretty easy). If you don't miss more than like 4 classes you don't have to take the final and get an automatic A on it.

Professor Thomas/Master Sage is actually a fun teacher and he makes learning fun and easy. His class is game based and we mainly work in groups and earn points towards our grade. (our grades for each assignment is based off of points) He tires to be fair and up to date with everything. If your not a fan of English or writing I HIGHLY recommend him!

This is a really different class, but nothing hard. If you come to class, watch the videos and do your homework it is a safe A. He let you buy this card with points you make in class and will let you resubmit quizzes you did wrong or give you feedback before the due date to fix your essays.

I signed up for the game aspect of the class. While I'm not 100% sure I fully enjoyed the game aspect, the professor himself is fantastic. He's very enthusiastic and really seems to enjoy teaching. He's open to feedback and questions and is clear and fair in regards to grading.

I have never had a professor that works so hard to make a class not only fun but very useful! He takes a lot of time to create games and ways for students to learn concepts which really helps with comprehension. This is the only class I have ever taken where no one is looking at their phone and is fully engaged. A real team atmosphere in class!

Mr. Thomas is an absolutely outstanding professor. If you just show some effort in the class you are sure to do well. He is really great at engaging with students and being active with them. Would recommend to anyone.

Professor Thomas has put so much time and energy into his class it's unbelieveable. It shows how much he cares about his students. alittle bit of a tough grader but you can ask for feedback before you submit your papers. I would take him again 100%. Attendance isn't mandatory but definitely helps a lot. I enjoyed his class.

Ill admit it, the gamified concept is not for everyone. But, if youre not the best at comp and have had negative experiences please take this class. With Prof. Thomas aka Master Sages gamified approach to learning you will feel a lot more at ease. He is relatable and understanding. Take advantage of his provided resources and youll do well!

One of the best professors I've had so far. The class was very dynamic. Give yourself time to understand the gamified aspect of this class so you can take advantage of it. A lot of the rules you are accustomed to when taking other classes do not apply here, but that is precisely why I'm thrilled to take the next class with him!

a great teacher who made his class more fun to learn with by making it a board game. because of that, it is easy to get an A as your grade can never go down, which was one of the best perks, he is super chill as well and engaged with me when I needed help, on of the best teachers without a single doubt.

This is one of the best ENC teachers in Valencia a real gem the way he teaches. The whole class is a game and you forge you're learning when you're having fun.

Prof. Thomas is someone who truly loves his job and ensure to make the most of every lecture. Each class we would have a different game to participate in that connects to our lesson from online. Just make sure you do all your work and go to call and you will for sure pass.

Honestly, he was valencia's best English instructor. He made his class different than a regular comp class, and he did it well! I took him during fall of 2019, we had a great hybrid class :)

This class is different from others; it's gamified. Instead of getting penalized for getting bad grades, you get awarded points for assignments you do which takes so much more stress off of you. I took online and it's so easy. The professor is amazing and he will help you with anything. Highly recommend. You will learn so much.

Professor Thomas is one of my best professor here in East campus. If i would have known about him, i would have taken him for Comp 1. his class is a little weird and confusing at times, but you will pass this class with an Easy A. I recommend that everyone should take him. he is very funny and his class is not boring. trust me you will love him.

He is an awesome guy, awesome professor, if you don't like the game, you don't even have to know it to know what to do in the class. You will have to work A LOT. Right now, we have between 2-3 assignments per meeting days. That said, it's sometimes overwhelming. But overall is easy. If you achieve 4 Badges you don't have to take the final.

Mr. Thomas is an awesome professor who genuinely cares about his students. His class is so enjoyable and its so unique how its gamified. The workload isn't too crazy but it's also not too little. I would highly recommend taking his class for sure.

I gonna say this and I'm going to say it once, TAKE THIS PROFESSOR!. It is a very good class. He is always trying to make everything a game. You just have to do what you gotta do. I end up with an A just doing the work!!! If you have four badges you don't take the final, and there are extra credit opportunities! I liked the class.

I'm just going to say this, if you are looking for a teacher to take both ENC 1101 & ENC 1102, take it with professor Thomas or aka Master Sage. This teacher is one of the best teachers I had ever had and his class is very clear, if you are struggling in English he will want to make you better. BEST DECISION OF ALL TIME.

Prof. Thomas a.k.a Master Sage is a great teacher that cares about his students. In the midst of a pandemic he's been great with email responses, not overwhelming with his work, and grades pretty fairly. I feel like you have to try to fail his class. It's a gamified course, but if you watch his how-to videos you'll catch on quickly.

Class was gamified so we didn't have percentages, but points that we collected throughout the semester and determined our final grade at the end. Gives so many opportunities to succeed and get extra credit, and wants you to do well. Allows you to buy item cards that can help you and replies to emails pretty quick. Highly recommend this class!

I had an amazing time taking Prof. Thomas's class. He offers a lot of feedback on assignments and truly cares about student success. This is a gamefied course so be prepared for that if you have never taken one before, but he does an excellent job explaining it and it becomes easier to understand the longer you are taking the class. This class truly is an easy A, Professor Thomas is such a kind person and always gives the best feedback. He mainly gives 3 assignments per week and he gives you multiple ways to earn a 100% on the final exam without actually having to take it. Mr Thomas is a great lenient teacher, I took the class online, easy going work. But it can be a lot of work getting towards the end. Gives participation assignments which can help you out in the class. Only have 3 essays in the whole class. and work is most of the time due on Monday and Wednesday, and if you need help he is quick to respond.

This was the most enjoyable class I took this semester, best decision I ever made taking him. His class is gamified so there are lots of perks for assignments such as extensions and feedback for essays. I learned so much as a struggling English student. I absolutely love this prof. He divided his assignments into smaller ones working towards larger assignments (only 3 papers in the entire semester). He gives AMAZING feedback on your work, states his criteria clearly, and he is willing to help anyone learn and understand. I'm a little sad as I can't take him again, his class was my favorite.

Professor Thomas is an amazing prof! Especially in difficult times of covid, his online course was facilitated and he breaks down 3 major papers into smaller assignments so it isn't overwhelming. Professor Thomas is really nice, his grading was just harsh. The only things I had a hard time with were the essays. I received low grades on some of them, but other than that his class and the rest of the assignments are great!

Professor Thomas is a great choice for ENC 1101, not so much for ENC 1102. I figured taking his comp 1 class would help with his comp 2 class, but i was wrong. It was like he was a whole different professor, and comp 2 was so much harder, i do not recommend. I loved his comp 1 class tho.

Earnest and friendly! He holds more enthusiasm and curiosity than his students. The coursework is tedious, not difficult. The objective of a larger assignment is often cryptically explained in little 'scraps', which I don't enjoy. Submit assignments well before deadline and you're good to go! I definitely recommend him.

He is without a doubt one of my favorite professors. If you ever get the opportunity to take his face-to-face class, I strongly advise you to do so. I'm not the best writer, but this class was both interactive and educational. The gamified features may be a little confusing at first, but you'll quickly get used to it.

I throughly enjoyed taking ENC 1102 with Professor Thomas! This is a "gamified" class; however, how much you participate in the "game features" is ultimately up to you. Instructional materials were often videos, but also included a mix of readings and interactive activities as well. It's clear that Professor Thomas wishes for his students' success.

By far the best teacher Ive had and I suck at writing and I got an A in his class if you need help he would gladly help you and make sure you understand and you even get points for asking questions and meeting with him I wanted to take him again but he doesnt do online past enc101 but he is amazing and I would recommend him to anyone

He is very straight forward on his expectations and requirements in order to pass his class. He is a very caring person and understanding about mental health problems. He classes were always fun and I looked forward to attending 'em. I would take his class again and recommend anyone to take his class.

Professor Thomas is by far the best teacher i've ever had. His class is so fun. His interactive course made me a lot of new friends. However, his grading is strict BUT he gives you great advice. TAKE HIM! Such a fun experience and he puts so much effort into making his class memorable. Only 2 major papers. I will genuinely never forget this class.

Overall a simple class, turn in your work, show up to class and you should pass. His teaching style is gamified, you'll be doing fun educational class activities as a class. The workload does pick up towards the very end of the semester, however, as long as you turn in ALL your work you'll automatically pass because he's not a big grader.

I really like Professor Thomas and his approach to teaching. However, I feel it only works in his in person classes. I am now taking Freshman Comp 2 with him and it is a lot of work. Because he does not have lectures he gives you way more work. So I would recommend this class if you take it in person. In person it is a lot of fun.

I took this class in the summer term of 2021 and it was the best experience ever of my life taking English 1. Master Sage's teaching methods are amazing if you really catch his drift. He gives a lot of good handouts for you to apply to the work he gives. He is very approachable and really cares about his students. I highly recommend him 1000%

Professor Thomas cares about his students, he gives a decent amount of homework but I did take him for a summer course. He is good about late assignments and when you aren't sure about what is going on he responds promptly and gives excellent feedback. Hands down my favorite professor so far.

I took his class while also working 45+ hour weeks, while also taking the fast pace class, Professor Thomas was very understanding and super helpful the entire way. Would recommend him every time you take this class he is amazing.

This has been one of the most, if not the enjoyable class I think I'll ever take. Professor Thomas is a wonderful person and truly makes his class engaging. Best advice I can give you is, for the essays, choose something you are truly interested in because you will be working on that the majority of the semester.

out of all English classes I have taken in the US this class has taught me the most hes a tough grader but you will learn from the advice super engaging class it is gamified kind of like DnD. Id take his class over and over if I could hes also a super caring professor hard class but worth it you will improve and have so much fun

Very good teacher always open to help and explain things further. Lets you turn things in late. This course is a lot of research and writing but he is a great teacher and has taught me a lot.

This is a game orientated class! SUPER easy to talk to and makes everything 100% easy if you put effort into it. People who rated poorly did not participate, care, or put effort into submitting work. HE IS SUPER CHILL. He allows for extra credit, easy fast assignments, and fun boss battles you have to do in his game!

Unique class. Assignment Heavy in the sense of there are a lot of weekly assignments. Cool in the sense that you raise up your grade from zero and assignments or lack of assignments submitted can not hurt your grade. But the big hitter one's are towards the end of the semester. Attention to directions and detail is very important.

This teacher was REALLY helpful!!! He was available at literally almost any time and was always willing to help! The assignments were really creative and fun and the lesson videos were SO FUNNY! I honestly wish there was an ENC 1103 course at Valencia so I could take him again!

Prof. Thomas is THE best professor I've ever encountered at Valencia. If you take his summer semester course, you'll have assignments due often but they're not hard or time consuming. So this class is actually good but the priblem is you are going to have to do everything in videos i dont why because is english class but Mr thomas is really nice, always answers and has a really creative class. The only bad thing was the videos, if you are not good speaking in the camera in honorlock do not take him, but otherwise he is so nice

His class is based off games, no plain literature, no poems, just games! He is super fun and allows you to play games before class, sometimes during if it's included in the agenda!
