THIS TEACHER IS ONE OF THE BEST THAT THIS SCHOOL HAS, HE MAKES LEARNING SO MUCH FUN. NOT LIKE OTHER MATH TEACHERS HE EXAPLINS SO THAT EVERY STUDENT IN THE CLASS UNDERSTANDS HE IS VERY PATIENT AND WELL HELP AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND HIM !!!!!
Makes learngin worth while, sticks to the syllabus though, and makes little room for excuses. If you do what you need to its very difficult to not pass, explains things well.
THE BEST TEACHER YOU COULD EVER HAVE FOR MATH!!!
Positively one of the finest teachers alive today. He is clear, funny, concise, and gets any math tard to fully comprehend! Highest recommendation.
I suck at math and he got through to me. I will never take a math class with anyone else.
Terrible, Took a month to get us a sylabus. He seems to be great at math. just can't teach it. Everyone I talk to in class is very frustrated and seeking outside help on attempt to squeeze out a "C"
he is a very good teacher
Excellent teacher. I was never good at math, But Mr. Weber made math easy. He really makes you understand the material. He will let you know exactly what will be on the test. Take good notes. Easy A or B.
this teacher is great. his class was so easy take good notes and do the homework and u'll be fine!
Funny teacher, he made class go by fast. He assigns a lot of homework and it only accounts for 5 percent of your overall grade. The tests decided whether you will pass the course and some of them are hard. Overall a pretty good class but I heard Bell is better
Fun as hell...think Jim Carey playing a math teacher...if you can appreciate the corniness, you'll have a great experience!
He is very nice and tries to help you , but you must study and practice the material. He does all he can to help and tries to make it fun.
Excellent teacher. He is very thorough. He made math fun!
he is funny very helpful makes class periods go by very quickly is a great teacher and is willing to got the extra mile to make sure you pass the class
Excellent teacher. Dont miss a class or you'll miss a lot. Moves fast but explains fully with plenty of examples. Notes are precious.
Explains concepts thoroughly
Excellent professor!! He explains everything to a T.. he maks math fun.. make sure you do your homework and you'll be fine!!! Take him for any math class you can... Good Luck!!!
he's the best!!! his lectures are really good and he doesn't make u do HW problems that aren't necessay, you only have to do a few that will definitely help you on the test. he's fun and very nice and helpful. he doesn't mind answering questions. he's one of the best professors in LBCC and so far for me he's the best math professor.
I dont know if I want to tell everyone how great he is because it might fill up his room making it harder for me to get him! BUT he is the BEST math teacher i have ever had. I always fail math But with him im pulling a high B!!!
He is an awsome teacher. He helps you understand math more easily. Very good.
He's a Great teacher. His lectures were never boring, he's funny/fun, gave very little hw, and his test were similar to his classwork worksheets. He wants you to know the stuff and was very giving of his time to help if you had difficulty w/hw or the cw. Great teacher. He knows his shtuff. I would like to take him for 45.
Girls, he's not a teacher you can sweet talk to making exceptions to the rules. He's firm, and sticks to his guidlines from the beginning. Class is a little boring at times, and has dry humor. test's r NOT LONG at all. Only 15-25 prob. Homework every class period, and writes out a study guide before every test.
I've taken him before and failed in math 130, I'm failing again with him in precalc. I don't know why, he just gives the impression you know the material. He's helpful, sure, and he explains things well, but he pretty much just goes through the material a little too carefree. Just not my kind of teacher.
Prof. Weber is the best...i think this is his first time teaching stats cause even he gets confused...but overall he explains the concepts very well and never rushes through a chapter...available in his office if you need help...overall a great instructor
I liked this teacher a lot, I've failed math 110 before but passed with flying colors with this teacher. You have to study and put in your effort as well. He goes through every chapter very very well and if you don't understand something he will explain it in a different way. He's great and takes his time! I'm taking him for my next math class.
Rich Webber is an excellent teacher who provides clairty in all his teaching, he explains this to be understood. He's funny and easy to talk to, he's class will be enjoyed.
very easy class! if you are good at algebra, I highly recommend you skip to Calculus, or otherwise you'll die of boredom due to the subject matter. Good teacher, wish I could have him for Calculus and beyond.
this teacher is great!!.. weber loves to give u extra credit... he let you do redo 4 ur test for Xtra Credit!!.. at first i didnt like math due to the fact that math is soo boring and it is hard to understand, but when i took weber he makes it understandable! yall should take his class!
He is a great teacher. He is also entertaining when he teaches so the class is not boring. He makes learning fun. If you don't understand just ask because all he cares about is that you understand the problem. The only thing is he's not in his office in the morning if you take the earliest morning class he offers.
AMAZING!
Weber is Awesome!!! Greatest math teacher on earth! Highly recommended for those who have trouble with math. Weber truly cares about his students and wants to see them succeed. Maintains a sense of humor about the subject and tries to make the course worthwhile. Highly recommended!
Professor Weber, is a great teacher. He is passionate about his teachind and truly wants u to pass. If you do all the hw study take really good notes and ask questions when needed you will pass this class, Lets you use calculators, very helpful dosent make u feel stupid, he also has a very good sense of humor. I highly reccomend this professor if y
I really enjoyed Mr. Webers math class, he makes math interesting and easy. You just need to pay attention during lectures, do the homework assignments and you should pass.
Awsome teacher. The best. I don't enjoy math, but he sure made it fun to learn. Very clear and helpful. lots of extra credit. Easy A or B if you study. Take him, he is nice and fun. He is hot too.
He is very tall and hot!! Makes it so easy to understand what he teaches. Regardless he is a very good teacher. He takes his time explaining if you need help, and goes over problems from homework that you don't understand. I would so take another one of his classes.
ive never gotten anything higher than a C in math. Weber is such a good teacher that i got an A in his class!! Pay attention, do you homework and your gold! i would take him for any class he teaches!
Let me tell you..Rich Weber is Legendary. He is by far the Greatest math teacher I have had here at LBCC.He really enjoys to teach and If you continue to read his comments you'll notice that not one person has anything bad to say about him..
It is a very easy class, just make sure to do the homework. He is really funny and makes math fun.
Best Math Teacher EVER!!!!!
Best teacher ever don't mind helping you when class is over awesome teacher
Weber helped me understand math. I hadn't take math in 10 years. Back in high school I received just passed with a D plus. I never got it! I used to annoy him in passing at the cafeteria;but he sat at the table and helped me. He's the greatest!! I wish I had him in high school.
Awesome professor. The BEST math professor at Long Beach City College. Very helpful. Stays after class to help, always in his office to help during office hours, and will help any other time if you ask him. Makes math fun. Very funny but still serious. Doesn't rush when he sees that people are struggling. Do all of your homework and you'll be okay.
OMG without a doubt he is the best math teacher at LBCC. He explains everything clearly. if you dont understand something he will be more than happy to help you. his class is really interesting i really enjoyed being in there i felt comfortable being in that class and i STRONGLY RECOMMEND that you take him his notes are helpful with the test and hw
Makes Math interesting!
Very unhappy in this class. I took Anande for Calculus I and now I am in Weber's class. He is requiring us to memorize all formulas for the test and we are not able to use calculators. Students are extremely stressed. Other Calculus teachers have allowed students to use formulas and calculators.
EXCELLENT TEACHER! Reccomend
Aweful teacher for Calculus 2. Goes too fast. Other teachers better.
Weber is the best Math teacher ever! There is no way to fail his class unless you don't pay attention and not do the work! TAKE HIM!
He is a great teacher; funny, and if you don't understand something he will explain in every day terms. Attendance isn't mandatory &the only work that really matters is the HW. MUST TAKE TEACHER. chill. fun &understanding.
Good teacher, taught out of the book and used his own methods. Definitely recommend him to anyone struggling in math. He'll help you out a ton.
Mr. Weber is an awesome teacher. Before him, I never understood math at all. I got all A's and B's on the tests. ATTEND the class (if you don't, you'll have a hard time understanding the material) and do your homework. It's a lot, but I didn't even have to study. ME! No studying! He cuts out the unimportant sections. He's very willing to help! :)
Mr.Weber is super great teacher. He explains things clearly. Do all hw & dont care much about right or wrong answers, 4 extra credit assign (after each test),10 in class assign. Important thing CHECK PRACTICES TESTS AND ASK if you dont know any ques, your 4 TEST COME FROM THAT. Dont absent more than 2 days. Enjoy and have fun with math in his clasS
If you suck at math like myself, Mr Weber is for you. After spending a semester in his class, I understand math problems that I had major problems with before. This guy teaches you math in the easiest simpliest way. It should be mandatory for everyone to take math with Mr Weber. Good man.
Great teacher. I took his Calc 2 class last semester, and got an A. The difficulty was mediocre, and plenty of studying was required for an A or B. He is very cool and laid back, crystal clear, extremely helpful, and fair. He definitely knows his math. I would love to take him again for Calc 3, but unfortunately he doesn't teach it. TAKE HIM!
Horrible teacher. Expects you to memorize every formula on your own, which there are a lot of. Doesn't seem to even understand what he's teacher half the time, and goes way too fast to learn anything. Tests are extremely hard, and he only teaches you to do the easy problems. DO NOT TAKE HIM.
He is an awesome teacher. I got bad grades in H.S. "learning" the same stuff he taught me. DLA's really helped, too. He is willing to stay after class, or you can come during his office hours. I would have gotten an A if I hadn't been lazy and skipped out on two classes. I missed a lot, and paid the price for it. That was my fault. He's awesome! :)
Loved his teaching skills!!
Sorry, but anyone that puts Weber down as a HORRIBLE teacher is either really lazy as a student or extremely immature and likes to have their hand held throughout college. As for Weber, he is an A+ teacher. He is very patient, helpful and his class is structured to help you succeed! Do the homework, attend lectures and ask for help...guaranteed A.
Great teacher, challenges, explais very well and with so many details. Gives a lot of extra credit. Show up all the time and you will pass
was an amazing prf. took him for cal 1. He was very clear on explaining the problems and will happily answer any questions. i highly recommend this teacher for anyone to take.
I think he is a great professor even though I ended up failing the class. It was my own fault really, I didn't get the help he offered multiple times. He cares for his students and is very well-versed in teaching math--makes it very clear. Good professor :)
Mr. Weber seems like he is trying to be more the "cool" teacher than a "great" teacher. His knowledge of the material is obvious, his style is VERY laid back and unprofessional. I found him to teach the subject well, but key elements in Trig were left out with I'm glad I studied on my own. All in all a good teacher, but I'm not fan of his style.
Weber is the best professor I've had for math (my worst subject). He is thorough, very helpful, and funny. He goes through by the material fairly quick, so definitely pay attention. Do the homework and practice tests, and you'll be fine.
Weber is awesome! I took his 110 class andI'm now taking his 130. He helped me really understand Algerbra. If you don't do the homework you will fall behind. Weber is also really funny and you can tell he really just wants to help. Weber is clear, you really shouldn't take any other teachers for Algerbra 110 or 130.
LOVE THIS GUY!!!! Take him! You won't regret it. He does alot of class participation while teaching the lesson. Too bad I don't like to go to the lac Campus otherwise I would of takin him for 110.
Best teacher ever!!!! Very clear very helpful, he goes at a good pace and you know what he expects at all times i highly recommend taking him you wont regret it
He is very easy although he failed me! And accused me of cheating on my final -__-
I took his 110 class last semester that was 9 weeks long and received a B+. This class is really easy as long as you pay attention, take good notes, do the homework and turn in the math packets, and do the study guides. You will do well if you do all of the above. He's also a very fun teacher. You'll enjoy him!
Best math teacher in the lac campus. If you have trouble with math take him if you do your work you will pass. test are not long but to the point.Take him you will not regret it!
Such an amazing teacher! My mom took his class along with me and my sister. he makes it so easy to learn and is always making you laugh i have never heard anyone say anything negative about him. great teacher!
He's such an amazing teacher. I hate math and he made it crystal clear for me to understand. If y'all want a funny, great teacher and always willing to help take Weber!!!
He was the best math teacher I have ever had. The class was extremely fast paced with quizes every monday but he always had a "review" day where he covered a similar version of the quiz that would be taken that following monday. He always made sure to answer any questions and always made a joke or two to lighten the mood of the class.
I thought it would be a mistake to take Calc 1 as a six-week summer course, but Weber's laid-back style of teaching proved me wrong. He is very patient with regards to questions and easy to talk to. There are quizzes every Monday, but you should be fine if you did the homework. Homework is due on the day of the quiz.
had this teacher for math 110 and he is a cool teacher!! i struggle A LOT!! with math but i passed his class. he shows you short cuts or easier ways to do the math which had helped me tremendously. i am currently taking another teacher for 130 and its horrible!! which i had taken it with Weber....
Weber is THE best math teacher i have ever had. He is great at explaining things, has an amazing sense of humor, and is really easy to talk to. I've always hated math, but this class just flew by and I got a B.
He is a great teacher! He teaches math so nicely and makes everything easier. His class is hard though if you aren't in the right course you should be in, like I was. I wasn't prepared for that course, but even then, he made it very understandable. He is an all around great guy!
More of a hybrid class. You need mymathlab. the subject is harder for me than most but hes a great teacher, funny and laid back. practicing the math concepts is a must. Hes Not a fan of extra credit so do well on all exams for good measure of your grade.
Taking him for fall semester at lbcc. Math 115 class which is a new class that is equivalent to math 130 ! And he is the worst math teacher ever!!!!! He goes off subjeCT 85% of the time test are worrh50% of your grade! Study guides are a little helpful! Not good at explaining problemsAT ALL its best to teach yourself or use mathlab dont take him
Took him for Trig Math 40 and he's a good professor. He lets you ask questions and he explains well. If you don't understand something he'll help you and he throws no curve ball on tests. Everything on his tests you will cover. Just make sure you do the study guides he gives or you won't pass the tests unless you really understand the concept
Gives extra credit and will help you understand the material. All points count.
I thought professor Weber was a good teacher, but I really understand Algebra and enjoy it. A lot of my classmates had trouble in his class because of how he explained things. I do think he could do a little better explaining to people who are not as good at math. But, he will help you if you ask and he loves questions!
Took him for Math 45. You will not pass if you skip class. Each meeting is lecture heavy and he will go through it fast. Make sure to ask questions if you don't get it. Tests are worth a majority of your grade so make sure to study and do study guides.
Attendance was not mandatory so I started to skipped class all the time, but I wouldn't recommend doing that. I missed a lot of material and he gives "labs" during class that are graded but you won't know about them unless you are in class. Used mymathlab so a lot of the hw in online. very helpful in class and kinda funny, not boring at all
Not the best professor to start my 1st math class at LBCC. If you ask for help he'll laugh at your face. He teaches his material extremely fast and its hard to catch up. Basically, be prepared to teach yourself using math lab. The notes he gives out are super hard to understand and grading is harsh. Be prepared to go over 3 sections every meeting.
Horrible teacher! The textbook basically taught you how to do math. He did one example of a lecture and the rest was up to you to figure it out. I love math, but he made me hate it.
Overall: Very poor lecture, requires time to teach yourself. Lecture: Verbally teaches math, lacks organization, a lot of side talk. Homework: will assign problems that he didnt lecture on (uses textbook). Tests: Mostly basic problems, do the study guide. He is nice, kind, and funny. If you already know math and dont need any help, take him.
CONS: Took a slow pace, thus consequently less time for more challenging concepts at the end. Lectures were nothing to write home about (unless in frustration). Grades updated only after midterm and final. PROS: Slow pace could be good for some. Good guy, funny, cares about his students and clear knows the subject. OVERALL: Easier than expected
Personality in one phrase: Hey, man, before you can learn anything about math, first, you gotta to learn to chill. Teaching method in one phrase: The shortest distance between two points is a straight line. He has a super chill personality, lectures very directly, and grades fairly. He breaks down confusing math issues into coherent step by steps.
Prof. Weber is the definition of laziness. No lesson plan, he teaches out of the book. He makes up problems that backfire in the middle of lecture. (frustrating) He assigns most of odd problems, but class notes are not enough to encounter the difficult problems. You must teach your self and speed lots of hours in the math success center.
Listen. This professor has a decent enough rating on here, so maybe he used to be better; however, whatever he is doing now is NOT WORKING. There are about 10 students in the class left because everyone has already dropped. He's disorganized, forgetful, and will actually make you feel like an idiot in front of everyone for asking questions. AVOID!!
He has a great personality, hes hilarious. But when it comes down to teaching, he just isnt good at it. It felt like I had to teach myself, he goes too fast in lectures and really isnt clear on things. Dont bother emailing him because he takes too long to answer them.
Took him for my Spring2020 semester, definitely struggled since I'm bad at math, he required labs and that helped a bit, because of a previous comment on him on this site attendance was mandatory. Our class converted into online because of quarantine, don't think I would have survived if it wasn't for that if I'm being honest. Hw/book online.
He really knows his stuff and his lectures are very clear. He assigns classwork that really helps prepare you for the tests. If you don't understand something, don't be afraid to ask him for help. He's very approachable and willing to help. For whatever reason, his teaching methods really clicked with me. I highly recommend his classes.
I am taking his asynchronous class and it is going very well. His videos on YouTube are very helpful. If he makes mistakes he will not penalize the class for it. For our first test it was hard to finish because of the time limit. So when he graded it he dropped some of the questions. So never worry that he will not grade fairly. Hw is on webassign.
Take his class if you aren't good at math. I am in his online spring semester course. He's a great teacher, funny, and grades fairly. His lectures can get a little boring but he doesn't call on you or have unnecessary filler work. You have to buy the online lab course($60) to complete the homework, it's super doable. 5 tests plus 1 final.
I hate math but I find math really easy. He makes the lecture worthwhile and gets my attention by inserting a few jokes here and there. He tries his best to get us to interact but I guess covid gets the best of us. 4 tests plus 1 finals. MML for assignment and worksheets that we do in class. Take him! His notes in lectures are pretty darn helpful
Hi is fun, and just pay attention in class, take notes and do the homework. Also is a math class or algebra intermidia . so be good at math and remembering formulas
It was fast sometimes we went over three chapters a day. It was really hard for me to be able to feel comfortable with one lesson because by that time he was already four ahead. You need a lot of time to put aside for this class. He gives extension but personally this class was very challenging.
He wants everyone to know math is fun!
Weber was a great prof, I just wished he didn't rush my class' sections as much. There were times when we would cover 5-6 sections in one class. However, he grades well. Some questions on the test would get points even if you didn't get close to the right answer. He is a funny guy, just make sure you can keep up with his pace and you should be ok.
Did not like math before having this class, but he made it very enjoyable. You fall behind pretty fast if you miss a class, though he offers zoom meetings after hours.
Super funny and chill professor that reminds me of Jeff Goldblum. The homework assignments are lengthy, but he uses a quarter of the class time to review difficult problems. His exams are also pretty easy to get over 100 percent as he adds extra credit to them. I would definitely take him again if I have the chance. (Math 50 Spring 2023)
We took a total of 5 exams in the class final exam was cumulative from week 1. His lectures were not organized, he was using another professor's notes and teaching. He was very forgetful and would often put things on exams that we hadn't reviewed. I went to tutoring every week for help, I would not take him again.
This professor lacks organizational skills and a lot of the students are NOT satisfied with his knowledge of the subject. Many questions we asked go unanswered and he takes everything as a joke. Me and a few of my fellow classmates have been basically teaching ourselves this subject all semester. Be prepared to be in the MSC all semester.
Professor Weber made STATs a breeze. He is understanding but strict with his assignments so, you have to be there every day. The syllabus lays out all the coursework you will be given throughout the term which makes it easy to stay caught up. If you truly participate and dedicate your time to this course, you will pass.
I went based off these ratings and had to withdraw because his teaching style is so unorganized and complicated. I have never experienced such a difficult teaching style. I wouldn't recommend at least for my own sake. he also writes messy and weird. he's nice though
He's a nice guy but his lectures are very unorganized. He goes through the lessons very quickly and half explains some of the problems. Homework is submitted through webassign and lab assignments that are are due every class session. He allows late work though for partial credit so that's nice, but his lectures aren't worth attending.
Dropped half way towards the end. Math lab is assigned and class labs which basically count as attendance. My C was barely surviving with hw and labs. He is nice and funny but his teaching was random and unpredictable for me. 4 exams and 1 final.fair grader but exams are lengthy all written response.
Overall prof weber is a pretty chill guy and uses dad humor a lot. The study guides he provides don't really appear on the exams, which sucks. We cover a couple chapters in one class session, so it can be overwhelming. Don't think I'd take him again, but if you're good at math it should be a breeze. This class is so stressful lol.
Great guy, he is very caring and funny. However, his lectures are very unorganized. Lots to cover in just one class session and it's pretty overwhelming.
Prof Weber is a chill guy with good dad jokes. His lectures are a bit scattered, but he provides helpful study guides. I'd recommend using unstuck study along with the textbook to stay on top of the fast pace. Overall, it's a challenging but manageable class if you put in the work.
