A typical exam (you have 3 in a year) consist of reading three-five chapters, three-four packets of lecture notes (each 30 pages) and what ever he says on during class. RUN WHILE YOU CAN.

Makes you study and memorize (verbatim) a million pages of lecture notes. Very tough grading. Forget that, I've got better things to do...

He gives your packet and packet of notes to study from and he is very broad on the exam topics. Expect to read and reread his matters. Make sure you are specific and through with your answers, most of the time he does not give you full credit on a problem

I'm taking his course right now and it's really hard to understand his lectures. HIs notes are as good as lectures(Not very good). He's reptitive and likes to pace a lot during lecture. He seems to know the materials very weell though

This was seriously the worst class I have ever been through. I'd rather shoot myself in the foot then ever take one of his painful courses again. Outside of class he is a great guy, but his class was full of a bunch of nonsense.

very hard teacher. Demands a lot from you, but if you keep up with the long notes and the old exam questions. It can be a very easy course. I got a B without having to go to class that much. My girlfriend got an A doing the same thing.

I hated this class and I am a marketing major. He was very unclear with his all essay exams about what he wants. I would never take him again.

His class is soo freaking hard. soo much to read and hard to understand. Boring lecture, I was always sleeping in his class and he talks way to much about things that is not directly related to the lecture and always go over time with teaching.

Notes were unclear and very long. This class requires A LOT of time! No HW but he makes up for it in the long essay tests.

Professor Werbel is smart, but very horrible when it comes to teaching. He has a very dry personality. He doesn't explain his concepts, or tries to go out of his way to assist you in learning. His passion for teaching has long been lost. Overall I would not recommend this instructor.

dont take him. he thinks its reasonable to put in 50+ hours a week for his class alone. and it does take 50+ hours. not worth it and i am a marketing major. he says he does it because the dept has gone to s**t. whatever, stay away. its not necessary to take him. weed him out.

hope you have time to spare because youll need it for this class. Very rarly does anyone get a decent grade for the work put in. Very unreasonable. His lectures are boring and somewhat scattered, but i think the thing is that hes too smart and he has trouble explaining what he thinks.

He thinks he is the smartest man alive. He makes you buy a book that you barely use and also makes you read his ridiculously long lecture notes which tend to be around 150 pages. Way too much work when you have other classes and could care less if he is unlcear. He rambles in class and is a hard grader on the essay questions.

All of the below reviews are true. Preparing for his exams made me want to jump out of the window. They should call it not Intro to Marketing, but Intro to Nonsense, according to his study notes. Either he is insane or a complete idiot.

The enigma that is Werbel. First off, the class isn't easy. I feel sorry for those who will be stuck in his classes. With that being said, it isn't hard to get an A. Your first mistake is going into the class with the wrong attitude. Don't print the study guides. Answer the questions using your Ctrl + F key. Get a study group going. Huge curve = A.

Good things: no group work, no essays to write at home, no homework, no quizzes, gives you exam questions ahead of time. Bad things: Study guide is very confusing, essay exams, you will study 25-30 hours a week minimum, take him with other easy classes.

I failed the first Exam because I didnt really study. But the last two exams I went in and talked to him every morning and he would answer a few of my questions. I got an A on both those tests. If you just study ALL of the notes and give a ton of your own examples you will do fine. I ended up getting an A in the class.

This guy is really, extremely, powerfully, difficult!! No curve ---> 2ppl passed the class, with curve---> 7ppl passed the class. and this is out of 45 students!!! he is reall really difficult to understand.

I dont even know where to begin. I'll start by saying DO NOT TAKE THIS TEACHER. This professor has lost his mind. He LITERALLY expects students to spend 35 hours of studting for this class each week...and trust me, if you want to pass this class you'll need to. I wish I listened to everyone who told me not to take his class. He's terrible.

This class is good if you want a challenge. If not, I suggest you enroll in Silver's or Taylor's classes. This class is REALLY tough. I've seen very smart classmates getting bad scores. However, Robert Vitale admires him, so if you want to get into the Honors Program, I suggest you get an A in his class and get a letter of recommendation from him.

THIS CLASS IS THE HARDEST CLASS THAT I HAVE EVER TAKEN. I easily get A's and B's in all of my other college classes and I struggled the ENTIRE semester to...HOPEFULLY...get a C-. 5 essay exam all with about 50 to 100 pages of notes that he wrote himself! Extremely difficult class!!!

Do not take Werbels class, you will regret it. Difficult exams, tons and tons of studying and his lectures hardly cover the material on his exams. I regret taking him....ended up dropping.

take another teacher if you can or you'll be paying for it! he has 6 tests and the final is extra credit BUT you have to get at least a D- to get some extra points. his tests consists of 5 questions, but 2-3 subquestions (ALL ESSAYS)!! he does not help in answering questions because he wants you to think about it. not helpful at all!!!

I worked harder in this class than any other in my entire college career. Someone mentioned that he grades subjectively, which is absolutely right. All of the free time I had when I wasn't working or in school was to study for this class, and I ended up with a C+. DO NOT take this class if you aren't good with LONG essay exams.

Though I'm getting a good grade in this class, I would never recommend him to students. All tests are essay tests that require an extreme amount of time to study for. He rambles on in class and does not make the subject any easier to learn. If you take this professor, you must be good at teaching yourself the material.

Werbel's teaching style is pretty much a huge boring rant and his handwriting is incomprehensible. The worse part about his class is the text he wrote on marketing that you MUST read for 4 of 6 midterms. The text lacks any type of punctuation and is pretty much a huge run on that repeats itself every 5 minutes. A huge waste of time. DONT TAKE HIM!

I can actually say I despise this man. How is he still teaching? Worst professor I have had, even made me want to change my major to management! 6 midterms- essay, and gives whatever grade he feels like. I studied 15 hours for the 1st, A. 15 hours for the 2nd, D. Partial credit? Keep dreaming. The average test scores in this class were around 15/40. Expects thesis level knowledge of undergraduate students.

Unless you plan on having your world revolve around ONE subject for the ENTIRE semester, DON'T take him! Five exams, all written EVERY three weeks. Grades hard. Studied probably 40 hours a week. Notes are hard to understand because of all the grammar problems and run on sentences. DON'T DO IT!

This professor does not clarify the notes that he posts online. There is so much information, he himself does not waste the time to go over it all. Notes are not clear and do not match the lecture at all. This class is truly a challenge. The professor knows his stuff, but does not know how to teach it to students!

One of the hardest classes I have taken. Although many students hate this professor I can honestly say you learn a lot in this class primarily because you push yourself to understand his class notes. I spent hours studying for his tests which by the way are very difficult. However after every test I felt like I retained all the information!

AVIOD AT ALL COSTS! This class was the hardest class I have ever taken in my life, half the class either dropped or failed. Tells you on the first day expect to get a D in the class! Expect to study 20+ hours for each of the 5 exams, no lie...Thank God this class is over for me it was pure HELL!

This is the hardest teacher I've ever taken but I'm happy I took him because now I feel all my other classes are easy. Expect to study 20+ hours reading his 70 pages of notes that are a maze, it will always refer to pages which is annoying. They have a lot of detail, a lot!!!! I took Bus 130 with another professor and failed. I took it with prof. Werbel in the summer and passed with a C. I took an additional class with him an failed. He is EXTREMELY demanding and difficult. But you will learn and need it later in REAL LIFE. do the work, use study groups, get it done. AA Class of 1996
