His lectures seemed all over the place and random but followed the book exactly. He's a very smart man and knows what he's talking about. His tests were hard but if you put in the time and effort you'll be fine.

People aren't used to actually using their BRAIN in class. He is fair and helpful, a good prof and knowledgable. Just study and you will learn alot from his classes. Also good adviser and helps students outside of class. He doesn't give easy tests persay but you will know the info when its all over.

Good class, very stressful though mid-term and final where nuts.

Pro. Wright makes you use your brain. He's not an easy teacher, but he was always available for conversation and clarity of any subjects in class. Very intelligent man and forces college students to use their brains rather than just passing through this college experience. Work hard on the Crime Log and study for the exams. Would take him again.

Poor handwritting for notes on the board, writes in shorthand. The text book isn't a must, you could pull a (C) without it. But it will help you in the long run. A little writting intensive with his "Crime Logs". Take him if you want to major in CJ, it will help you in future classes. If you want to get an idea of the CJ major, look else where.

I had no problems with professor wright. I know alot of people dont particularly care for him, but I liked his class alot. He's very helpful with the paper assignments, his tests are hard, but their managable if you study. Good class, worth taking

He is a great guy! his tests are ridiculously hard but you learn a lot if you listen to his lectures. i recommend going to class cuz if you dont you will fail. overall i definitely suggest this class for anyone who takes cj seriously!!

he is a really good teacher...you'll learn a lot in the class...if you participate in class he'll go out of his way to help you...don't take the class if you are just going to sit there

Great teacher. Don't take him though if you don't want to work hard for your grade. If you like a teacher that will push you then his classes are right for you. He is very helpful if you actually seem to care about the class, but don't expect help at the end of the semester if you goofed off the whole time.

He's a pretty good guy. He goes into a lot of detail. Bring a computer to take notes, believe me. Notes basically every class. 3 papers. one 6-8 pages, one 5-7 pages, and one 10-12 pages. just ask him questions and he will help you. if you don't want to work then don't take the class.

Great professor. I can almost garentee the negative comments on here only come from slackers who don't know how to work and don't want to. I am taking Wright for the 3rd time since I srated here and this is my second honors class with him. He is difficult however he is always there to hel no matter what you need. Best here for help class or not

He is a very good teacher, although his classes are very difficult. Studying every night and taking notes is crucial. Overall though, he is very knowledgeable and wants to help his students as much as he can. He'll even tell you at the beginning that this will be the hardest CRJU class you'll ever take.

This is a very hard class, i'm in it right now. I think he's a really good teacher though, he makes you think. If you're not willing to work hard though and don't like talking alot in class and giving your opinion.. don t take it, you'll fail. If you're a criminal justice major though and can pass this class.. the rest will be nothing.

Dr. Wright is the type of professor who won't just give you the answer but instead wants his students to make their own informed decision on their opinions of the serious issues facing the CJ system. He has high expectations and in no regard will give an easy A. He challenges people who actually want to help the system to think more critically

His tests are impossible. His notes are ridiculously long. He is constantly playing devil's advocate in all of his conversations. And he never gives out any hand downs. And the worst part is, HE KNOWS IT. but he also knows his stuff. You have to work hard, EXTREMELY hard, but you will learn everything you're willing to work for. still, avoid him.

He is a very nice man, he cares and wants people to do well. His test are hard and you have to do two papers. If you dont want to work dont take his class. He will teach you alot if you are willing to learn. overall, its a hard class with a nice teacher

He is a very hard professor but if you are willing to work, he is willing to teach and willing to help you. He is big on class discussion and loves to play devil's advocate. He is very helpful if you meet with him outside of class. If you talk in class, he will love you as long as you make sense. If you want to learn, I highly recommend taking him.

Richard Wright has to be the most annoyin teacher ever. He picks at your brain & acts like a 2 yr old always askin why when it comes to discussions! He's good at makin you rethink what you stated & I find myself contradictin myself alot...BUT he is an excellent teacher when it comes to Criminal Justice. I would recommend him, but not for the faint

I learned more from prof wright then i expected. he is a fantastic teacher and you wont ever fall asleep. He is a harsh grader tho and expects only the best especially in the honors course. If you take him be prepared for long nights, days of second guessing all you once knew. and loads of work. Our class bonded through the struggle.

To everyone writing negative comments--grow up. This is college, not high school. We are supposed to be working hard. A's should not be handed to us. Prof. Wright is a great professor and I have never learned more in my life from a professor. Yes he is hard but it is worth it.

Wright is the toughest teacher I've ever had. I've had 3 classes with him & he has high expectations. His exams are always all essays & his papers are graded harshly. He's an excellent teacher tho. You really learn a lot if you pay attention & apply yourself. His classes are hard but I would highly recommend him for anyone who's serious about CJ.

Best lectures I have ever experienced. I actually looked forward to attending class. If you study and put the time in you will be fine. By far the best professor I have ever had. His ability to conduct a lecture is unmatched.

His lectures are very fast paced and he expects a lot from his students but he is honestly one of the best instructors I have ever had. I learned more from his class than any other class I have taken. The class is interesting and lively. Only take it if you have a strong interest in Criminal Justice

The touhest eacher perhaps in the Criminal Justice Department. If you want an easy A, walk away. You will work very hard but will learn more in this one class than all your other classes that semester. he gets a bad rating on here but would take his advice over any other CJ professor at B.U. 40 started the class... 14 took the final

This man is the best professor you will ever have in the cj department. one paper and two tests. As long as you use APA citation properly and study the book for the tests, you'll have no problem passing. participation is huge, and is the best part of all of his classes.

Prof. Wright is a very smart guy and knows what he is talking about. He makes class very interesting and loves getting everybody in the class involved. Be prepared to be called on to talk about your opinion on the subject at any moment and also to debate among classmates. Tests are challenging...read textbook and study notes. Hard grader on papers.

Toughest professor I have ever taken, the highest grade on his midterm and final was around a 75-80. He also picks through papers with a fine tooth comb. He is also the best professor I have ever had and his class discussions were awesome. Avoid him if you are looking for an easy A.

Professor Wright is hands down one of the best professors that's Bridgewater has to offer. If you're lazy or looking for an easy A do not take him but if you want to learn and understand I would highly recommend him. He is very specific about what he wants from you and most bad reviews are because he is no nonsense, and grades tough. Take him!

One of the best professors Ive ever had, hands down. No homework, grade consisted of 1 group project and 2 exams. 1/3 of the class failed midway through. I am a strait A student who put in 100% effort and got a B+. Tough grader but incredible teacher, I learned more from him then any other teacher Ive had before. Lots of people failed this class.

Every week there was a lecture (power point) and everyone can count on being called on during the class without fail. The book was written by him, no way you can fake it. The book was a good guide, but he wants you to have your own opinion whether it's popular with the rest of your peers. We took a mid-term, final, and a group project.

Dr. Wright is looking to challenge his students, and he WANTS you to pass. A's are not unheard of, they are just not common. My best advice: do not expect to get an A just because you answered a question "correctly," you must provide context as to how you got to that answer. Take him if you want to learn, but avoid his class if it is not required.

I took DrWright in the Fall of 18 & I thought his class at the time was extremely difficult. Looking back, he is a difficult grader yes, but if youre willing to reach out he will help. 12 page paper & essay focused midterm & final. Not a easy A, but effort will show in your grades. I would not suggest him for freshmen/people who dont like writing

Dr Wright is a great teacher and knows the information he is talking about. we took notes every class for a 3 exams which were the only three grades and they were pretty tough to do, if you don't want to have any assignments due this is your class, but you have to study for the exams or you will not pass

This class was incredibly difficult, so don't take if you're looking for an easy A. Overall, I did enjoy this class & liked Prof. Wright. He made class interesting. The only grades are 4 exams, which are very difficult. The key to passing this course is doing the readings, and not missing any class, if you do that you will pass with no problem.

Anybody who is slandering prof wright is simply a bad student who is just trying to breeze through their degree. This class was definitely not the easiest but if you show up to class everyday and actually engage in the course than it is very easy to maintain a good grade. This course is very interesting and a perspective changer.

Dr. Wright was a really good professor overall. There were only two exams the whole semester and then one 7 page final paper. You have to take notes for his class to pass and participation is a must. He's really good at trying to include everyone in the class discussions and lets you come to your own conclusion on the topics.

Grade is based only on 3 papers. A little much for an intro class but not the hardest class I've ever taken. He gives good feedback and as long as you actually do what the instructions are asking, it's not difficult.

Great professor, tough nut to crack though. You have to work with him and understand what he wants. He lays everything out quite plainly in class, you just have to pay attention.

Only graded on 3 tests, so pay attention in class and take good notes. You don't need the book just listen to what he talks about in class.

Definitely a tough grader especially for an intro class. Majority of people drop out when they can but your grade is based off 3 exams which are 3 articles, pick 2 and answer the questions but you need to write so so much in your explanation. He does great teaching but it's a lot to remember

First class i took for dual enrollment as a junior in hs. Pretty fun professor. Value the notes more than the reading. If you pay attention and know how to argue, you're good.

Do not take this class if you are not a good test taker, specifically open response! His lectures are very engaging and easy to understand. He cold calls on you but is very understanding and does not force you to answer if you are unsure. Overall, I loved having him as a professor, but his exams were tough.

I would take the class again. The only thing that makes it difficult is that of how he grades. you will be grade on 4 things. Participation 10%, Exam 1 25%, Exam 2 30%, and 35% for the Final Exam. All you need to do is pay attention and right the notes on the screen because majority of the things on the board are in the essay based questions.

The people who complain about Wright are expecting professors to hand them a 100 for showing up. Wright provides such valuable information if you are planning on making a career out of this class. He makes sure the class is lighthearted but still emphasizes the importance of how difficult this topic is. Give your all and your grade will mirror it.
