He's a really enthusiastic teacher and very helpful. He's funny to watch because he's so into the subject.

This teacher acts like a 12 year old kid, voice, actions and all! He crams too much info in one class session that my brain needs a rest after his class.

Rick is probably the best professor I have had at UH Manoa. This guy rocks. On the first day, you will think who in the heck is this guy? But he will grow on you, and you will love him by the end of the first month. Helpful knowledge about lots of stuff. Take notes = get an A

Rick is a good teacher and he is very interesting. He makes the class interactive, and your always busy either taking notes, watching a video or doing group work. His tests could be a a little hard if you didn't study the notes or study guide, but he is really caring and understanding if you have problems.

Big Rick is one of the BEST teachers i have taken at UH. He is really passionate about the subject. Really really funny guy! One of the only classes that i actually looked forward to. His class can be really EASY, if you take notes. He likes to talk stories. Lots of videos... interesting stuff. Everyone needs to take his class!!! >'.'<

RICKS THE BOMB! He was so funny, told all these great stories about his family, always made us laugh. Grades pretty easy. Do your journal entries early, don't wait til theyre due at the end of the semester. Really interesting class. He's an all around cool guy.

Well if you like the movie WATERBOY, this is your class! He put his lessons in a very clear perspective. The movies he plays are a great supplement to his lecture. He is very animated and vocal. Once you join his class, look out for his famous "wahh wahh wahh" 's. Cute man.

This Class is really is great class to take. The professor is funny, super NICE and usally keeps you interested. He take attendence so you have to come to class. Other than that he is a great teacher and our TA this year made this class even easier.

Prof. is really nice, funny and interesting. Go to class and take notes! Great subject to take even if you're majoring in something else. Information from class is great to just know. Exams are fairly easy if you study. Review sheet and session he gives helps alot. He's a great instructor. People take it because he's just great.

He is such a fun guy. The class was pretty infomative. He may go a little fast at times but it's because theres a lot to cover. The tests may be tricky but he has these major review session that help SOOO much. He is always there to answer any questions or concerns. Just study the study guide real well and youll do great.

HE's the best teacher. I wish he taught all the other subjects. You can tell he is a genuine nice guy and that he cares about his students and his work. He makes sure that you understand the material and he goes to extra lengths to help you get it. He is so charismatic that you can't help but pay attention. I would take another class from him.

he's the best professor ever! he makes you want to switch majors just because of his friendly behavior and awesome teaching skills. he gives you all the answers you need for the exams and offers extra credit if you need it. you need to go to class every day though to understand the material. but other than that, it's easy to get a good grade! :)

The best teacher you will ever have in your college career. His class is based on a powerpoint and he expects you to take a lot of notes. That'll probably be the only hard part you'll expect from his class. Exams are totally easy with 50 questions. Gives a study guide which are very helpful considering that he uses those questions on the exams.

He is the best professor I've had, even though I'm a freshman, he knows that class can't be boring and book work, that's why he uses powerpoint, shows us movie clips and keeps us on point and alert. I learned a lot from his class, and he made me WANT to learn everything he was teaching.

A very kind professor, takes attendance randomly so it is better to attend often. Tests contain only the materials covered in class and on the reviews. Do not need to get the textbook. He cares about the students and though he may get off-track he does teach you what you need to know. This is a good course for all majors.

The professor is very enjoyable and I look forward to his classes. His notes are very disorganized, but he tells you what you actually need to copy down on the powerpoint. Exams are easy if you take notes and go to the study sessions since he goes over most of the questions that will be on the exam. Overall, he is a very funny and awesome person.

Caufield is the best! His lectures are always interesting because he talks very animated and you can definitely tell how passionate he is about teaching. Definitely one of the easier classes available for a DS credit. Attendance is not mandatory but it's worth attending lecture because notes are not available online. Tendency to ramble but very nice and approachable guy, willing to meet and explain more if material is unclear. Overall, heavily recommend and Rick is definitely one of the best at UHM

Super funny guy and pretty easy class. He pretty much covers EVERYTHING that will be on the exam, so you should go to every class. I HIGHLY recommend taking Dr. Caulfield! He shows videos and tells little jokes. He also uses real life examples to make it easier to understand.

Not as easy as everyone says. There's a lot of content to go over and his lectures are all over the place. He's a super funny & nice guy and he's definitely helpful. Attend the review sessions, go over the study guide, attend class and you should be fine. He has three exams, a portfolio, and takes attendance through in-class activities.

Fun class! his exams are pretty straight forward as long as you study until you memorize it completely. You have to earn an A, so don't underestimate this class though! attendance is mandatory. barely used my textbook, but still an easy class!. One more tip, GET TO KNOW HIM ON A FIRST NAME BASIS! really helps in the long run. highly recommend!

Professor Caulfield is an amazing professor. However, I really got a lot out of this class. Attendance is mandatory.Here is the grade breakdown: 2 Midterms worth 20% each, 1 Final worth 25%, 5% In-class activities, 15% Assignments done over course of semester, 5% small groups, and 10% attendance. I highly recommend this class.

Rick is amazing. He loves teaching and really goes above and beyond for his students. His lectures were engaging and the exams are easy if you attend class. I graduated a number of years ago but still use him as a reference and he's always willing to help. Really great guy

Hands down the BEST professor at UH Manoa, he's a very helpful and caring professor. He often time will go out of his way just to help you understand somethingif your struggling. He does tend to talk a tad bit fast but after a couple weeks you get used to it, if I could minor in FAMR I'd do it just to continue taking classes with Dr. Caulfie

He's the sweetest and the most understanding professor that you would ever meet! The assignments are quite easy and If you need help with making class schedules for FAMR let him know because he would have everything ready and prepared for you. I'm glad that i have him as my advisor!

He's really funny, always tries to be personable, talks way too much. Every class, he gives pointers for the exam (usually the exact exam questions too). If you don't go to class, you'll be missing on every thing he highlighted. The first exam, I had 46/50 questions written down. Way too easy. Says you need textbook but I got an A+ without

He's so great (: Walks around the lecture hall before class and gets to know his students. He can talk a lot and rambles sometimes, but overall easy to understand. Gives a really good study guide for the three exams. Go to every class so you can get the prompts he gives out for the folder you need to turn in at the end of the course.

Dr. Caulfield still to date is my most favorite professor at UH. He explains things really well and makes it known that your always welcome to stop by his office hours for any help. Caulfield is really warm, friendly and helpful if you ever choose to go to his office hours. Loved his class soo much I decided to switch majors and major in FAMR!

Rick was overall one of the best teachers that I will possibly have during my years at UH. He taught very thoroughly, and covered the topics in an outgoing, and fun way. Professor Caulfield is a great guy! Really makes an effort and try to engage with the class. He's one of the few professors that go around and try to talk to everyone. He does talk a little fast and is hard to understand at times so I recommend sitting in the front.

He gives you all the assignments that will be due in class, but they are not due until the end of the semester. there's 2 midterms and 1 final all easy to pass if you take notes and go to his study session.

Just as long as you attend lecture, take notes, and go to review sessions you'll be fine. The book is recommended, but isn't really needed. Before exam, he asks the class a few questions (that are on the exam) and basically gives the answers for them. Also points out questions during lectures so take note of those. Overall, great guy who's caring.

Asynchronous online class, self paced with 4 deadlines respective to the 4 sections our reading is divided into. About 4 -6 chapters need to be completed every month and a half. Pretty straightforward. 3 short written assignments that are 2 pages each and weekly forum posts to simulate class interaction
