Dr. Herzog may seem at first to be somewhat unorthodox, but he is a very good teacher; very fair. I immensely enjoyed his class this fall and made an A.

He is LOONEY!!!! The class was EASY!!! He is CRAZY!!! But if you want an easy A or B, take him! Gives LOTS of EXTRA CREDIT, every other Friday he offers opportunity for extra credit. Easy tests, don't really have to come to class.

Herzog can be corney but at least he contributes information that is relevant to today. He tells you what is on the quizes and is helpful answering questions. The book sucked but I did get alot of questions right when I did read it. If you know the terms, you cant fail...I would definatly recomend this hot pepper...

Very nice teacher. Makes too many corny jokes though. All lecture with handouts and powerpoint. Very understanding and helpful if youre struggling and have problem. Lot of emphasis on small group presentations (5 easy ones) on current events. I would highly recommend.

Herzog is by far my absolute favorite teacher at SFA! He can be corney as hell, but I guess it's his jokes that make him adorable! Love his classes! Take him!

Hey is a real character! His class is just about paying attention bc he pretty much tells you what will be on the tests. The Discussion and Presentations you will have to give can possible give you 4 to 12 pts extra credit and it really helps your test grades. Tests pretty straight forward. Just take good notes.

this was the easiest class of my first semester of college. i suggest everyone take him. hes kinda corny but always cracks political jokes that you just cant help to laugh at. he teaches through powerpoint, tests are EXTREMELY EASY, and the d&p's are your best friend and a chance at an extra 25 points to your test.

Dr. Z is great! His motto is, "you don't have to know everything, you just have to know something." If you go to class, pay attention to the lecture, listen to his HINTS about what will be on the quiz, you will do great. If you don't make an A in this class, it is either because you are lazy or stupid, IMHO.

This class was so easy. All you have to do is show up and take notes and you should at least pass. No attendace taken, 4 tests inc. final plus 5 6 min. long group presentations over a current event that are worth 4-12 bonus points. You have to TRY to fail, the class is that easy. Very corny.

I'm not going to BS here and say this class was easy. There is a lot of work involved. It was interesting to learn how a city manages itself. Dr. Herzog made the class about as entertaining as a 400 level PSC class could be. I would recommend this class for juniors and seniors who are interested in Public Administration.

Dr. Z is great. If you don't pay attention, however, you won't do well on the quizzes (there are no tests) and you will miss his jokes. However, if you pay attention and DO YOUR WORK, it's easy to make an A. Dr. Z is actually a softy and will have pity from time to time on us students by providing opportunities for extra credit.

He's somewhat inappropriate at times, but he does that so people will pay attention.This class was one of the easiest classes that I've taken here. Most of the material comes from the notes.I would recommend taking his class if you don't mind bad jokes and want an easy A.

The topics were boring but Zog is a blast, you can tell he really cares about the students and teaching. The book is a waste of time and money, just study notes and you will be fine.

This professor was extremely helpful and understanding. He give flexiblle office hours to aid students outside of class. Attendance is mandatory so be sure to always attend class. This teahcer is hot...literally!!!

Dr. Z is very nice...and funny (you'll understand his humor after a couple of weeks). Attendance is not required, but helps prepare you for quizzes. No exams, No final, just 6 quizzes throughout the semester. Quizzes are fill in the blank with 2 short answers; know the key terms! No canceled class, rarely let out early.

Dr. Herzog was an interesting professor to take for Political Science. Although the test were a little complex the course was interesting and well worth it. I had a great time presenting D&P's in class. They were a great way to receive extra credit and very helpful. I wish that more professors would consider this incentive.

Doc. Z was an excellent prof, the material was boring but he made it fun. The notes were straight forward from the power point, he brings visuals to help better understand the material. The Semester with Doc. Z Seemed to fly by.

Herzog is a great professor. The D&Ps and the extra credit essays are really beneficial. He's pretty funny but if you arent atleast some what intelligent you may not understand his humor. Make it a point to ask him to write points of importance on the board and he will gladly do so.

The class is somewhat hard you do have to study the class notes and the youtube chamba videos do show up on the test. The essays and D&P are very helpful to your grade.You will do just fine if you watch the news.

I really enjoyed this class. He made it interesting and gave plenty of opportunities for extra credit. Honestly, if you dont pass or atleast make a C its because you flat out didnt show up to class and were lazy. I took Dr. Herzog for the maymester and I can honestly state here that he is one of the best professors I have taken at SFA. He is more than helpful in class and keeps it entertaining throughout lecture.He uses examples to explain lecture that relate to our everyday life and his D&Ps encourage real life experience with politics in the classroom.

Knowledge learned in this course: believe I took a lot from this class that will prepare me for the future in any career path I choose. He was very clear on what we were going to cover in the syllabus and he also went into great detail about topics with explanantions of current events to compare to the lecture. I liked learning although the class was 3 hours long(maymester). Otherwise he was a great teacher and I would recommend him.

I am a science based student and anything having to do with history, economics, or government is usually difficult. To say the very least I usually struggle to pass, but this class was different. It was my first maymester class and I enjoyed it. Overall good class... alot of reading though :/

Honestly had no interest in political science going into the class since I hated this POLYSCI 141 but I'm pretty interested now. He made the class fun and relevant. Please ignore all of the immature things said above. Dr. Herzog did a great job teaching NON-POLI SCI majors enough poli sci to get by. I sat in the front row of his class and he was hilarious. He made me laugh every day and I got 94, 88, 88, 94 on all of his tests by reading the assigned readings and by looking over the notes. DNP'S WERE GREAT!

The D2L quizzes are over the textbook and what's in the news (google the news part). They SI is very helpful! You MUST attend class to get credit for the D2L quizzes! He gives bonus opportunities! His tests are exactly what is covered in class. You will have group assignments every month, be wise who you pick to be in your group!!!! Great teacher!

Dr. Herzog may come off as a little weird sometimes, but that's what makes his jokes funny. As a professor he is really good at what he does, best political science teacher hands down.

Very nice man. He is pretty flexible with quizzes and they are easy to pass if you read the material. His quizzes are online but don't rely on the internet to search for the answers. Tests are multiple choice and true/false, and fairly easy. He bases most of the test on the notes you take in class so make sure you show up. Overall great professor.

Dr. Herzog is super nice and hilarious and keeps class entertaining. You don't get credit for the quizzes if you don't show up the next day. The group presentations really do help out your grade and are easy. He gives a lot of opportunities for bonus points so take advantage. Dr. Herzog is the goat. always hands out pretzels and bonus points. if you do the quiz and show up the next day you get 2.5 bonus points, which really add up. Make sure you do well on your D&P's! If you don't show up for class you will fail.

Very chill and funny guy. Lectures can be slow and boring at times, but he tries his best to make it amusing at times. Be prepared for group projects, where if you participate and do research, its an easy 100. A mandatory online quiz almost every week, and exams follow the textbook more than the lectures, and can be very difficult at times.

Herzog is an "OK" professor, but the lectures were boring, and I'm sure he knew that. And he often played SNL or other videos to keep things lively. The GDs every few weeks can boost your grade if you're prepared. He also assigns mandatory weekly ‘quizzes' that are really homework, and you must keep up with current events going on in America.
