Online class, last exam in class.
Teacher will go out of his way to help you to understand the material.

This class was HORRIBLE. Clearly this man teaches online for a reason...the lecture notes were copied right out of the book, he didn't answer questions directly or in a timely manner..fortunately I had someone else to help me-or I would have been screwed
Martinez is really cool.. he really goes out of his way to help you. He also makes all the convoluted concepts seem like a piece of cake. I really liked this class. Before, Stats was like my worst nightmare, but now I actually like it....
I took Rick's class 3 years ago and I thought he was wonderful. He was very helpful and went out of his way to help you if you asked for it.
Rick's a great guy. Encourages students to help each other out and makes sure that people's questions get answered. Be careful on the quizzes. They are sometimes very short (5 questions, 3% of grade) and somewhat tricky.
Quizzes were easy but the final exam was so conceptual that it did not relate to the quizzes and the lecture materials. Not helpful if you want questions to be answered. Lectures did not make the lessons easier or more clear.
He is very Clear, explain well, but what was about the final? Really hard.
i really dont know what happened in my final! i was getting A throughout the course but finally got a B because of the final...*crying . anyway, he is very clear and skips a lot of the text, very light workload for a math class. i love his group quizzes!
Martinez has a gift for explaining complex ideas in a way that's easy to understand. He focuses on what's important for practical application. I agree the final was awful--IMO he should have made it more in line with other tests/quizzes, I cried after.

He was one of the best teachers I ever had. I learned a lot from you.
The best math teacher I've ever had. I HATE math, and it hates me. And statistics is no exception. But Rick managed to make it as easy as possible and almost fun at times. He really wants you to succeed.
This is the math professor you want to have. If you have to take stats, take his course in-class, not the online version. Excellent teacher that really gets the point across. If you fail, it's your fault.
He is a great teacher, has fun in class, and is generally a happy person who seems to enjoy his job. He will take time to ensure each individual understand a topic. He can explain things many different ways to accomodate different thinking styles.
Martinez's great, but he doesn't care about students much. He returns tests only after weeks, which forbids you to drop the class. His tests are the hardest among all Mathematics teachers. If you are willing to work very hard, take him. If not, AVOID!
He is the great teacher in math 10. I dont think his class is hard. For example, the final exam that i took, i answered 7 questions for no answer. The total questions are 40 somethings. Someone may think his exam is so tricky. But that help us a lot.
took it online and got a C, although the whole quarter I was getting an A. This class killed my GPA. Ihate him! Don't take him online!
His lecture notes are clear and concise, responses prompt, and all quizzes/exams are practically open book with extremely generous time limits. Possibly the easiest 5 units you will ever earn with minimum work. Highly recommended to those with a tight schedule.
The way he teach is really clear. he is really friendly with his student. he respect all his students. He help all of them as much as he can. never give wrong information to the student. His in class quizes and midterms are really easy, but at the same time his final is really hard. He is really coo
if you know little bit of math, statistics with rick is very easy...just relaxed teacher who wants u to ask many q's...
Rick Martinez is a great teacher and very helpful with the rather difficult Statistics course. I took it online and still feel that he was involved and ready to help. Take the course! He's great!
Awww..Totally great guy. I must have had an average of under 70%, and even after the final, he passed me. Wonderful guy. Very helpful. Simplifies lectures so that you can understand. He has trouble making up his mind, though! Makes Stats as easy as possible. TAKE HIM!
THIS WAS A GREAT CLASS. THE TEACHER IS VERY HELPFUL AND CREATES A VERY GOOD ATMOSPHERE. THE QUIZZES AND EXAMS ARE NOT THAT HARD AND ARE ALL MULTIPLE CHOICE.
Rick is the best and the most helpful teacher!!! His class is not hard at all,..it's way better then Francisco,...way better...althought most international students recommoned her class...but I really don't!(Because I found out someone that is better then her)...and Rick makes me change the major!!
Nice teaching style. lots of group work students help each other. wants you to learn. good guy.. I hate math ..hate hate it...made it painless and interesting.take it
If it wasn't for Rick Martinez, i wouldn't have ever made it through this class... THANKS!
It's a easy-to-get-good-grade class just if you listen to wut he said in class. He explained really clearly and it's easy to handle all the works.
Easy online class as long as you follow the schedule. Don't do things the last minute. Good class for people who are not good at math.
I truly hate math. But of course, to transfer I needed the Math 10 class. Without Rick's helpful comments and instruction I would not have made it. One of the best I have ever had - no kidding. His online class rocks! Just be sure you follow and understand each lesson. Gives an example final, so you will know what to expect.
Rick is probably the best math teacher I’ve had at foothill. He is very laid-back and makes sure his students are learning. He is really into group work and allows you to take the quizzes in groups and even the tests. Every once in a while he doesn’t show up to class and frequently lets class out early. On top of all that I have actually learned a
Very fair teacher. Extremely nice. Frequently & quickly responds to students. Extremely encouraging. Lectures have a basic structure and are easy to follow. Easy class if you follow the lectures. I recommend the online class if you have time to spend on it.
Rick is very nice. I could not understand Math 10 with another instructor and didn't pass but I took Rick's class and understood it thanks to his help and encouragement and passes. He made sure it made sense. One of the best instructors I have ever had. He is A+++++ material. He is laid back and down to earth.
He is interesting. But it is NOT an easy class! Even though you got full mark in all of your quiz, you might not get an A because the final exam is really hard!
First, for the record...I HATE math..but I really enjoyed this course. Rick was very helpful, taught us at a level we could understand (vs way above our heads). I was going to settle for a C but ended up with an A - talk about shock! Great class - would do it again with Rick - if I had to!
I really dislike this course and this is the second time I took it, but I liked the book, it was really straightforward and the prof was really nice.
Rick does not use a book but a Flash Program you have to buy from his secret company to take the class. It is hard to use and not helpful like a book would be. I do not recommend this Instructor for any class, anywhere, or anytime. You will not get the high grade you deserve. Everyone is a C student in his mind.
I think the teacher is nice. I usually do better in online classes and maybe this was one I needed not to take online. Although I probably could have tried harder, I did try to work hard in the class and still didn't do so well on the tests. But math generally is hard for me.
He's test are way above what he teaches in class. He's teaching is at elementary level but he's test will really dissapoint you. Don't recommend him.
The online statistics material that u learn from is what more than 2 Foothill Statistics professors are using. He is a good professor who runs his class with great clarity. Mostly group work which is effective. He TRULY cares about ur understanding of Statistics
Unlike many people who posted earlier, I don't hate math. I thought he was a great teacher for all sorts of people. His class was very interesting and fun to be in. The problems are really fun and easy because once you understand the main idea for that problem type, all of the other problems are kind of the same. Take his class!
One word lazy, would describe this instructor. I had him for an on line course which was basically pawned off on a company called Beoga.net that never bothered to even edit their material. It was filled with errors ,that after the first chapters the instructor should have gone through the rest of the material himself. Lot's of excuses.
AVOID THIS CLASS! There is no textbook. You have to purchase a subscription to a web based math "tutorial". You have to pay $60 and get no book but only access to a website that expires after the quarter is over. But the biggest problem is that the website appears to owned by the instructor! Isn't that a conflict of interest?
Online. Instructor listed was Martinez but was mainly taught by Ion Georgiou. If you are not strong at math I would not reccommend the online class as you teach yourself from the website. Questions were answered promptly and throughly. Online quizzes were hard but open book, but the final was fairly basic questions(no notes),no word problems.
Rick must have gotten his teaching credentials at a Baskin Robbins and even those employees are more responsive than this SOB. He's a mugger,he's a robber, he's a thief because of the f'd up onlin book. Don't take him!!!!! Stay away!!!
RICK IS AWSOME!! He cares so much about his students and their understanding of the material. There is no text book used, its an online teaching manual that is pretty helpful. He is all about having people in groups which really helps if you choose the right people. He will explain things until you understand. Pretty funny guy. BEST TEACHER!
I just passed Math 10 (STAT)and will be able to transfer in the fall. The class is online and I had to really make myself study. I took the online Math 105 which is good. There is no paper book to buy which saved me $. Good class, but not you are lazy. The instructor was very interactive in the discussions and answered questions quickly.
This class is a sad excuse for a college course! WHO came up with an incomprehensible, pathetic on line text that doesn't at all help for ANY reference material to use for in class lecturing. This was a hybrid for SJSU and VERY FEW of my peers know what's going on B/C there is NO text! If you need an intro. stat. class, DO NOT TAKE THIS!!!!!
Most embarrassing excuse for a math class at college level! How this format of teaching hasn't been deemed irrelevant at Foothill is beyond me. Taking this at SJSU became the worst class to ever hit our school as a "hybrid." I highly recommend taking at stat class professor that has a TANGIBLE text to be USED with lecture! A waste of my time!!!!!!
His online class is definitely not reccomended. Why would your final be worth a whopping 60% of the overall grade? Maybe because Rick doesn't bother teaching anything and leaves it all up to a website that you have to pay to use in addition to class fees. This was a waste of time and money and I didn't learn a single thing.
Do not take this online course. Rick Martinez never replied to any of my emails, are final was taken in the appreciation hall,we had to use our laps as desks,I passed this class with help of Rachel Mudge she was teaching the Hybrid students she is awesome The online text was useless I bought 2 ref books .DON?T TAKE THIS CLASS WITH RICK MARTINEZ
He is very easy on my Math1A class and we do quizs in groups. He didnot taught very much on class and it ends very early You'd better study some calculus before or you might not follow the class well
SUPER GREAT TEACHER, WORKS HARD TO GET YOU TO LEARN. I LIKED HIS CLASS ALOT.
Terrible teacher, never teach. Most stuff in final has never been taught in class. Highly NOT recommended. Take Martinez's class? Take your own risk.
I took the online class for stat. Overall I thought it was pretty easy since all test questions are multiple choice. Final is a little scary though since it's worth 50% of your grade. I went to UC Berkeley for undergrad and this course is a piece of cake compared to the courses I took there.
Do not take his class~!!!!! I ended up getting an F grade. He never appears and replies your email. All the quizes and tests are online. unless you are really good at Math, I dont recommmend taking his class coz you can learn nothing from his teaching
Concur!! Never answers emails or class questions for his online Statistics class. Contradictory to what online classes are all about.
I took his class as an online class. His website was very understandable, and he was prompt in responding to any question I had regarding the class. He's a cool guy.
Mr. Martinez is a pretty cool and energetic guy. Although sometimes he gets caught up in his lessons and rolls through material, he goes through concepts slowly and tries to make sure everyones following along. He puts much emphasis on large exams, though, so you really need to know your stuff.
well, he is hot, but notice, it's hard to get a good grade in his class. Even though he doesn't give any HW, the final can replace scores which lower than that. Still, hot teacher but uneasy class.
Highly recommend taking Rick's class. Also it would be in your best interest to start an email group to work with. I took the hybrid class and still worked with classmates via email. The email group was worth it's weight in gold. Rick is extremely helpful and will answer every question until understood.
I had him when I took Math My Way in the winter quarter of 2009. Very cool guy to work with and really laid back! He's helpful and very encouraging.
Formulas and problems he didn't in class teach were in the quizzes. He's nice but I didn't learn too much from him.
I wish I had taken Rick's stats class from the get go! This was my third time attempting statistics and he made it quite easy! Really helpful and supportive. Online exams and quizzes were tough, but the final exam score does replace scores lower than it. Overall, one of the most positive experiences I had with statistics!
No book needed. Study on your own and sometimes a problem. It is similar to any online class, learn if you can or find study group. Finals weigh too much in final grade, 60%. WOW! Final on campus and NOT allowed to bring your notes. Notes provided with very little info. Unfortunately, we did not find out what we can bring till the last wknd.
I had Rick for a total of 2 day when I was not doing any testing. He's very nice and credit to him for helping me pass modules D and E two weeks later! I love his sense of humor and his passion for his students and sports such as the 2010 World Champs San Francisco Giants! :)
Super teacher! He is very helpful!!!
He claimed that there would be no surprise in the final exam and the final would be of similar standard to his sample final but this was NOT THE FACT. And 60% Final is just ridiculous. I worked hard enough but the final was tricky and failed to get an A in the end! Dont take his class or he will murder your GPA! NOT RECOMMENDED!
What we usually do in quizzes and tests were quite different from the final exam. Do not recommend you to take his class if you want to get an A.
Professor Martinez is great in teaching. He makes himself available to you when you need him. I did the monday lecture on campus and the rest on-line. He always responds to students emails when there are questions. If you need more help he has office hours every day. Take his class. He is always willing to help. Take it from someone that hated math
Loved Risk's class, he was always helpful when needed. Everything was online, but if you came to class then he was VERY helpful. Would recommend him to anyone.
he might be a nice professor but his final would definitely kill your gpa if you are not a math person. Not recommeded to students who want an A!
It took me three tries to get through this stats class and the third time, I took the class with him. My god, with him all the stuff I learned previously (with the exception of reading graphs, but that's hard for me anyway) was so much easier! Got a B with him; an amazing instructor! I recommend him to all students who need to take Math 10!
Terrible teacher, never teacher anything. and he will not understanding and Most of stuff in final has never been taught in class nor he explain to students who are rebeat time.you will waste your time if you take his class you will regret and I am Highly recommended NOT take his class Take Martinez's class? Take your own risk.
Do not take this class if you care about your GPA and you are not a math major. Nothing he teaches is on the final. Well, actually he didn't teach anything ` you teach yourself! All the classwork was an the extremely easy side and then he hits you with an exceptionally hard final. Beware!
If i can pass this class anybody can pass this class. i showed up the first 3 weeks then stopped going. did homework once in a while at home. showed up to midterm and final and got a B in the class. But he defenitley doesnt teach you, you teach yourself.
My class was a hybrid, so almost all the work was online and I had to teach myself which I was fine with. He shows up every week and answers any questions you may have. Cool guy.
I registered for the in-person class, but it turned out that attendance was not mandatory. He lectures Mondays, then you do group work Wednesdays, then you can work on the quizzes in groups on Fridays. No assigned homework. So it only works if you are VERY independent and will actually do the work on your own. If you are that person then he is good
The class was easy as long as you follow along. I took calculus before this so the math was a breeze to me. an assignment every week(quiz or lab or test) and acouple slide shows to go through a week. Practice final is very similar to actual final. labs and projects are easy. if have trouble on quiz problem can always look on forum for help.
All independent. Doesn't actually teach the class anything. Nice guy, but some lectures would help.
I really like how he offers hybrid classes so that you can have the option of coming in on your own time. However, I would not recommend this class if you cannot self-teach yourself. It's your responsibility to maintain all of the online quizzes and you have to go in on your time to get help because he does not lecture like a normal class.
Rick made Stats pretty straightforward. I took his hybrid class and as long as you went through the online content before going to class, you're solid. He's willing to explain if you're confused. He even let me take the final a day early just because I showed up to a different exam he was proctoring. Really nice guy and online content is helpful.
weekly slideshows, weekly quizzes, hw does not count, projects are easy but his final is 60% of your grade. Take him if you can self teach yourself the material. Class is ok as long as you keep up with your work. Sample final is very similar to actual final.
I took the online statistic class. The slides are super super boring. You get quizzes every week, (2 chances). You have 2 labs, (can't remember how many chances but it's a lot). You have 1 project, (10 chances lol). So it's almost impossible to fail his class. The sample final is pretty similar to the actual final. The actual final is a bit harder.
Rick is a wonderful teacher! I took his hybrid class so lectures online, group work at school (not mandatory). TO ACHIEVE AN A: Do ALL of his worksheets & read the online lecture. There are no "trick questions" or anything you will never see before during his final which is 60% of your grade. He is a fair teacher!
I suck a math & found the structure of this online class to be easy to follow and informative. Rick is quick to reply to emails and seems to have fine tuned how to teach Statistics online. He provides note for the final and the exams are open book so he really sets you up to succeed, you just need to put in the work.
took math 105.05y fall quarter where you only meet once a week and then the rest is online. if you know math pretty well already then this is good. he teaches more "you need to find this from this equation" instead of "this is the formula to find this". I failed math 105 once before so it is a nice class if you get the gist of it already
Such as an amazing professor , highly recommended .
I took the hybrid online/in person class. All the material you need to learn is online. This is not a good class for somebody who cannot learn on their own. In class he hands out worksheets of the chapters you are working on and wants you to get in groups to do the worksheets. Hes very willing to help and answer any questions you have.
Self-teaching is important in this course. The professors were always quick to answer questions, but you had to essentially teach yourself statistics from an online program. Needless to say, a lot of students had questions.
Prof Martinez is great!! I took his hybrid class, (online& one day on campus) and its pretty much an easy A! All of the online quizzes are optional to finish from beginning of class to the end and u have multiple tries to get a higher score!! Coming to his class would help you understand better too + final was easy and similar to the sample final
Rick is a mellow guy, friendly and approachable. I took the hybrid course and it was great. If you need extra help, Rick will help you but his personalized Beoga online learning modules are easy to follow and understand. Advice: do all the HW, labs, quizzes, and modules. Utilize the discussion forum! If you are a serious student, take Rick.
Easiest class ive ever taken in my life. Show up half drunk and you'll still get an A. Doubt I will be adequately prepared for pre calc but still happy to have an A. If you want to learn and remember the material take someone else. If you want the easiest A of your entire life, take Mr. Martinez
Rick is very helpful. I was nervous about taking an online math class but his online lessons are very clear. It was a hybrid class with one in-person meeting/week and that was very helpful for working with peers, asking questions etc. Just stay on top of the lessons and use the foundations lab for extra help if needed. You won't regret taking him!
Math has never been a strong subject for me until I took this class. He teaches in a very different way than most teachers, which made things easier. Homework is optional and the online quizzes can be taken at any time! Makes the content helpful and has the students group together and work on problems. Always there for help and to clarify anything
I hate Math but after taking Math 105 with Rick, I felt that I could handle Math 10. I took the hybrid class and stayed the course. The Beoga program is easy to follow and in-class meetings 1x/week helped clarify questions. Make friends in class and study together. Don't fall behind, do the homework and handouts, show up and you'll do great!
Easy class, weak professor
I took the strictly online version of this class, and it was easy for me because I have taken and used statistics before. If you have never taken a statistics class before, I would recommend looking into a hybrid class. A lot of people online were having trouble with material because it was all new concepts.
Professor Martinez is forsure the best teacher in my opinion. I was able to meet up with him a few times on some chapters that confused me and he clarified perfectly. He also believed in me and all the students which shows that he wants everyone to succeed. Highly Recommend Him and take him as a hybrid class since you will get to ask more questions
Rick teaches this class with Rachel Mudge and they are awesome. Do all the homework and practice quizzes, ask questions and participate in the forums and you should do fine. The final is a huge part of the grade but it was not too difficult if you keep up.
Rick is a great teacher! His class is well structured and his grading criteria is very clear. He is prompt at answering all questions in the forums and he explains everything very well. It is important to do all of the homework assignments and closely study the sample final (when he releases it) using the notes he provides to pass this course.
Very easy class. Easy quizzes. The final is worth 60% of the grade and is difficult.
Took this online class during the summer, final is 60% of your grade. He releases a sample final that is so similar so make sure you really study it and learn all the concepts of the problem that is being asked. It is the same format as the sample but asked for a slightly different thing.
Online video lectures are good, and he sets you up to succeed. Lectures match up with exam questions pretty well. Which is convenient because the final exam is 60% of your grade and proctored (if you take it online). But its open notes
Pr. Martinez quickly responds to questions, his lectures on Beoga are great, the class is super organized. It was a short semester, that is the main difficulty. His exams are open notes.
Super easy class with clear grading criteria. Get ready to teach yourself if you are doing this online. I took a hybrid class which made it easy to ask doubts.
I took this course online given the current COVID crisis. His beoga app used along with lessons are entertaining to watch. I appreciate that I had the ability to pause and play when needed. If you are not strong on math (like myself) you will go far by doing the homework assignments! They are great for practice despite having no grade value.
I think the statistics class I took by Prof. Rick Martinez is probably the best Math class I ever had. I loved the video lectures instead of the traditional text book that visually breaks down the problems. There were weekly quizzes or lab where straight forward from the videos and wk if you do the work youll get a good grade on midterm and final
He records summaries of all the chapters as if we were in class, which really helps out! Everything is optional except the weekly quizzes, which he gives you three days to submit. He responds quick if you have questions. The only thing that sucks is that you won't know your grade until the end of the quarter.
I really enjoyed the recorded lectures, with detailed explanations and examples. I enjoyed the whole structure of the class other than the fact that the questions on the final were pretty tough and we didn't get the chance to review our work once we turned it in. I definitely recommend taking this class! top 3 best math classes I have ever taken
Very good online system. All lectures pre-recorded. Teachers answers fast on discussion forum. Passed his class with flying colors. Very good teach overall.
TAKE THIS CLASS ONLINE! Failed pre-alg 3 times but have an A+ EVEN AFTER THE MIDTERM (open note, like final). Weekly HW & pre-quizzes (both ungraded), quizzes (30%) and he drops the lowest grade! Lectures are all short, easy videos. I usually do an entire week of work in 1 day. Has you download a special calculator app that does EVERYTHING for you.
Stats sucks but this class wasnt the worst
This class was overall very straightforward and easy; homework is optional! The only thing that was a bit hard was the final, but the sample exam helps tremendously. Once you finish the final though, you are not able to see the grade you got and you won't be able to see your overall grade until later, which is very stressful.
10 quizzes total, overall easy quizzes yes. but the final LITERALLY has nothing to do with the overall 10 quizzes he went over the whole semester!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! yes he did have a final practice but still not close to his actual exam, the questions were obscured I had an A the whole semester and because of the final I barely passed.
Prepare for him to use the word "magic" to describe mathematics every other lecture video. His language was confusing and I felt myself having to weed through his euphemisms to figure out what was actually going on with the math. Very easy course if you're decent at figuring things out for yourself. No HW. Short lectures. One midterm and final.
this class was okay but your entire grade basically lies on the final. the final was a pretty similar to the practice final provided. weird how you can’t view your final exam grade right after taking it though, it’s honestly a bit frustrating. overall okay class but not sure if i’d take it again
First, I would say this course is easy. It's got 9 4-6 question quizzes and10 question midterm, which counts 60% of the grade. But the bad part is the final is only 36 multiple choice questions, and it's 40% of your grade. and the final is far harder than the quizzes. So it is easy to get a B, but if you want easy A's take someone else.
This course was taught by Rick and Rachel. They were both very nice, professional, and open to questions. The course was also pretty easy and laid back. The majority of the learning is just notes and quizzes. You could complete and retake the quizzes anytime before the last day of the course. There was only one midterm and one final exam.
I learned nothing. Video lectures only, no textbook, transcripts, or notes. Lectures don't have time-stamps, an index, or descriptive titles. Topics weren't discussed methodically, so my notes were a mess & it was impossible to figure out what to rewatch to review. I had to go elsewhere to actually learn about the topic.
Most of the work is done online and lots of groupwork in class. He is a great professor who cares for his students and is enthusiastic about teaching. The quizzes are more difficult than in class work and the final is a lot more difficult than the sample final. Overall, this is a straightforward and enjoyable class.
This class is great when all of the assignments will open until the last week before the final. His quizzes are easy when it is unlimited time and he just takes your highest score from the quiz. The final exam is multiple choice when it is the same as the final practice he gives you but the number is different though. And you can ask him anything.
Professor Martinez is one of the best instructors I have ever had. The Canvas page is so organized and easy to follow. There are about 20 homework assignments and 1 final. The homework has similar solved problems linked below it which is VERY helpful. Prof Martinez sends weekly emails reminding you of the work you need to complete. HIGHLY RECCOMEND
Only 1 quiz is due per week. This is a very stress-free class and anytime you have any questions the professor responds quickly. Highly recommend this class!
$50 online textbook was video lectures with practice problems, hw, and quizzes in it. HW is optional, quizzes are everyweek, the lectures could have been better honestly. you think you get it until you're face with a trickier problem that the lecture only went over how to solve in under 10 seconds, so it's easy to miss the harder questions
Very helpful and organized online system. Weekly quizzes. There are forums where you can communicate with other students. Lots of videos to watch for the topics. Personally, I would've taken this class in person as someone who struggles with math online (since this class contains a lot of notes) but this does not reflect on the Prof.
This class is extremely easy and organized but you have to pay $50 to access everything. The lecture videos are clear and there is 1 quiz a week. Final is worth 40% of grade but is very similar to practice final and you get notes. Final grade replaces all lower grades.
Rick is amazing he is known as the "Hey everybody" guy. The videos he makes are clear but for each chapter optional hw and a sample and real quiz each week. the midterm is online but the only thing is its a 1 try quiz but the final replace your low scores in a quiz for what you got in the final but the final is a little challenging and dif tho
There was no homework, but there was weekly quizzes. The weekly quizzes however had a practice quiz that was similar. For the online class, the final is in person, however it is open note. If you pay attention to the recorded lecture you should be able to pass.
Great class I found the one try quizzes to be easy but the optional hw and final was a bit hard so make sure to practice the hw and sample final the sample is a little bit different than the final but it is same difficulty his lectures are great and he is really helpful if you ask just be aware the final is 40% of your grade (for now) opennote
Do the work and you will pass. Lectures are actually just really short videos. Homework isn't graded but answers are provided. Short quiz (5-8 problems) weekly. Lowest scores will be replaced by your final exam score if it's higher. Exam is at least 40% of your grade. Open class forum for support. Overall, highly recommend this class!
Professor Martinez's online MATH010 class has a straightforward structure with weekly quizzes, optional homework, and a challenging final exam. Lectures are helpful, but some topics could use more in-depth coverage. I found Unstuck AI useful for quiz prep.
Quick with feedback and answering questions in the forum. Cares and wants everyone to succeed. Awesome class.
This course is Fantastic! Stay on top of weekly quizzes (4-5 questions) since they, along with lab work, make up 60% of your grade and are easy. The best part of this class is the supportive open forum. Finals are in-person and worth 40% of your grade, but they are open-note. Rick and Rachael are very supportive and helpful. Highly recommended!
Do clear things about the challenging final, it is not as bad as you think as long as you study the materials and formulas in classes, you will be fine it is open note so make sure to get the steps for the equations yes some questions could be challenging but it is manageable with Beoga I thought the same thing too but it turned out to be ok
Professor Martinez made online statistics course a great experience. His teaching style is perfect for students who find math challenging, like me, as he makes the lectures both straightforward and intriguing. His responsiveness to questions and concerns was also greatly appreciated. I would definitely take another course with him!
TAKE AT YOUR OWN RISK AND GOOD LUCK LEARNING THE MATERIALS ON YOUR OWN, AKA YOUTUBE, KHAN ACADEMY, ETC.
like the other reviews say, Rick Martinez really is. I was not expecting an A because I suck at math but I understood practically all his lectures. Unlimited # of notes for final haha! I'll agree that the final gave questions that were on the harder side. Prof is always available to chat if needed and there's a forum to ask questions
the teacher is very interesting and the lectures are clear, no homework + one quiz a week. your grade is highly dependent on midterm / final. no late work but as someone who is not good at math and paid a little attention and still passed with an A you'll be okay lol ! just practice the practice final and open note final in person tho
Lectures were relatively short and easy to follow. There was no graded homework and 2 graded weekly quizzes that were very similar to the sample quizzes. One open note midterm and final that were very easy and similar to sample tests. Final grade replaces all lower scores. Beoga app made this class very easy and almost a joke.
