If your a bio major than you know more about this course than he does. He is a very kind person however not a great prof... He will test you on the most random material, not the essentials of the course. The final this year was all about the experiments - not about how well you knew and understood the concepts. However - easy A for bio majors!

Rick is very engaging with the class and is able to make lectures very enjoyable. His tests are very fair and very well constructed with the content learned in class. He is very friendly and very well-liked by students. It is important to go to lectures in order to do well in this class but the lectures are typically very interesting.

Rick is a super great teacher. It is very clear what will be on the midterms, and if you're willing to put in a few hours to study it's an easy A+. The textbook is mandatory for the class as each midterm has approximately 10 question based off of assigned readings.

the course is unnecessarily difficult. if you don't write what he specifically wants you'll get marked down, and he isn't even clear with what he want to begin with. people usually take the course twice. you'd feel as if you did well on the midterm and your grade is bad.

Love Rick so much! He is so funny and constantly makes little jokes during lectures. You do need to show up to class to pass as he posts incomplete slides on ACORN and then expects you to show up to class to complete the slides. He also takes the time to get to know his students, stop by his office even once and he will remember your name.

Rick is great, but Psyc 1013 was bad. The only evaluation criteria being multiple guess tests means you don't have a real opportunity to demonstrate what you actually learned in the class, and you never truly engage in the material (compared to say, a class where you have to write a paper on a topic). If you don't care about learning, pick this.

Honestly, Psychology wasn't something I was super excited to go to, as our class size was fairly large. However, Rick really knows how to have a good time, whether it's from adding memes to his slideshows, or telling a funny anecdote, there's never a dull moment!

At first he seems like a very great teacher, has a lot of puns which is a nice break.. but takes points off if you dont use his exact words, on mid terms. Tells you to go in to his office hours for help, and then just says that theres nothing he can do. Dances around questions.

Yes, he will learn your name and say hi in the halls. But if you care at all about learning and retaining useful info, give it a pass. He is incapable of answering questions if the answer isn't on the slide in front of him. He just stammers and talks in circles when you ask. He wastes huge amounts of time on boring jokes and his personal politics.

Rick really cares about his students. he does not post the completed notes online, so go to class unless you have a good friend who will send you notes. Hes funny and speaks with a microphone so even at the very back you can hear him. He is the fastest when sending out midterm grades and even calculated out grade before the final, truly a good man

There is a lot of information covered in the lectures, and you need to make sure to show up because he does not post notes. Almost all examples done in class are on the exams. He really cares about his students, and he is very approachable. There is also a lot of opportunity for extra credit in his class. Overall he is a great prof.

Amazing and dedicated professor. Will meet with you any day for personal one-on-one discussion, will do anything he can to help you succeed and is open and accepting of everyone in his class. Encourages discussion in class! And yes, you CAN disagree with him and he encourages students to stand up for what they believe in! Truly an incredible guy.

Rick does really good lectures, I had him for first and second semester. First semester he was my favourite prof, I learned so much and he seemed like a cool guy. Second semester political stuff started happening so he became too involved in all that and didn't teach the material which became frustrating for tests but other than that he was great.

Not a helpful or good prof. His grading schemes are ridiculous will take points off if you don't use certain words (that he likely didn't even teach you). He encourages office hours but when you go, he never directly answers your question, and goes on an incomprehensible tangent (like most of his lectures) Is a rude if you disagree with him too
