He tries his VERY best to help you understand the course. He even make up a pre-test to prepare you for the real test and goes over all the questions to make sure you understand it. AWESOME Proffessor!!! Take HIM!!

i did not pass his class :( but he tryed hard to help , helped after class and wants me to take a lower math course next semester and then come back. overall i believe u need to come in his class prepared if u are u will do fine. WORK FROM THE BOOK.

Mr. Nguyenhuu is by far the best math teacher I've ever had. All through high school, I never got math, and then I got to college, took his class, and all of a sudden it all makes sence. He is not strict at all. You just have to apply yourself.

rick is a great teacher.he doesn't have much tolerance for people who don't apply themselves though.one day my homework was incomplete because i got stumped on it at home and couldn't finish it.i decided to tell him and he gave me another chance to do it.

Mr. N is always there to teach you more if you need his time and attention. Took him for summer and gave us the option of taking the final if we weren't happy with our grade (I got an 89%). Great teacher, would take him again if he taught 170.

I have had him for math 130 and 150 and he is a great teacher. Explains things very well and gives out a study sheet before tests. Study that sheet really hard and you will Ace his tests. I got an A in 130 and Im going to get one it 150 i hope.

Mr. N was the first math teacher that I have ever had that actually made sense. I am not so good at Math and he prepared me so well for what was to come later. He is a wonderful teacher.

Before taking his class, I was horrible in math. I was very surprised with his teaching style, which is actually VERY clear and easy to understand. Highly recomended.

OMG Mr Nguyenhuu is yummy and hot. His class can be tough at times. He gives lots of homework, and attendance is a must. He can also be a Drama Queen and be very moody(has lots of mood swings) at times. take his class you wont be sorry.

I have to say he is the best Math teacher. I think the people who rated him bad are slackers. He not only teaches math he teaches responsibility to the students by making them show up to class. AND by the way, if he likes you, and you show interest, he will let you turn in your hw assignments late if you miss class.

I took Rick for both math 130 and 150. I wouldn't have taken him the second time if I didn't think he was a good teacher. Sometimes he's a little difficult to understand. But coming from a person who is bad at math, Rick taught me alot. I recomend him to ppl with difficulties in math. Don't let his strict behavior decieve you.he's really a nice guy

Great math teacher. Will try to come off as strict, but ends up being fairly lenient. He will get mad though if you don't respect his time - but it's worth taking him. Very helpful on the exams too. Review packets are always almost identical to the exams.

Mr. N doesn't assign too much homework, and he only picks problems applicable to what we're studying. He's really clear and makes even word problems easy. The tests aren't too long or too hard... and I suck at math! Take him. He's a keeper. He's cute too, so that definitely helps. You won't mind that he can be a little cocky LOL.

He is a very nice teacher. He is very fair and loves to help if you ask for it. He will meet you half way. When you dont, try he doesnt try. When you do try, he will give you a good grade

Best math teacher at citrus. Gives homework every night but just checks for completion. As long as you do the hw (if I can do it, trust me you can too) the tests will be so easy and the class is an easy pass. Very precise in lesson plans actually makes math kinda fun.

Good teacher. In order to pass the class you need to do the homework. If you miss class you are not allowed to make up the assignment assigned that day, but you are allowed to turn in the previous homework. Tests are based soley from lectures and homework. No new things are thrown in. Review packets for each test are given. PAY ATTENTION!

Maybe it's because I have him for summer school and everything is so condensed but I'm not really impressed with his teaching abilites. He is so unorganized and goes through things SO FAST. We get out an hour early every day, nice, but it is sometimes frustrating that he doesn't take time to thoroughly explain things. Avoid summer school I guess

Prof. Ngyuenhuu is siick! He makes algebra simple, is willing to work with you on any level and realizes that "we're not all good at math". You can get extra-credit in his class and you'll get an A in his class for sure as long as you show up.

Excellent professor, I believe. Crystal clear in his lectures that left very few questions from the class, but was there to accommodate his students whenever we needed it. He was fun too, I was happy to have known him.

mr. nguyenhuu is a great math teacher for MATH 150..i took his clawss during the six week winter session and got a B...he is very helpful and if you take good notes, go to class and do the homework you'll definately pass.

extremely helpful, obviously he really loves math and is willing to solve every single problems in the hw and the review test worksheet. Every problems in the test are predictable, because every time he offers us "review test" before test. And he will tell us what problems are gonna appear in the test. Just take all his classes.

What a genuinely great teacher! In his class, I became confident in my math skills, something I didn't think I had ever before. I even got my first 100% on a test! It was not easy, but I really learned the concepts well, and that helped me a lot when I went on to statistics.

Rick is a crack up, isn't it? lol he's super excited about math but he does make mistakes so just stay on top of him about them. and like he says, homework is the virtue of his class, if u skip class too much and don't do ur homework, forget about passing. but he is a crack up, and u never use the book

The subject matter itself isn't easy, but he's one of the better teachers. There's only 4 tests and that can make it hard if you do poorly on one of them. The final is worth two tests so the final can make or break your grade.

Awesome calc prof! He cuts out all the fluff and teaches you what's important. The homework can be really challenging, but you'll get full credit if you attempt every problem. The tests are concise and straight-forward. Best part of all: no textbook use. I'm not a natural math person, but in his class, I rocked. He must be doing something right...

I never thought I would get Calc, I failed it the first time so everyone kept telling me to take it with Nguyenhuu and they were right. He's an awsome teacher, explains everything so its easy to understand, the class was fun and he was super funny, I totally recommend him. I even got an A on my final which was amazing.

I took this class because my bf told me to take him. i had to schedule my entire class day around his class because it was only offered one day...but totally worth it. He is so easy as long as you do ur hw and review sheets you will be fine. Only thing is he can be kind of a jerk, if you piss him off. Attendance is a must.

He's very kind & helpful! Doesn't use textbook; teaches in his own way. The way he teaches you how to do things really simplifies & speeds up hw, which is always easy (answers are written on hw). Tests are never very long. Only problem is he some times makes mistakes w/answers on hw. But he's so nice, funny,helpful, and kind of a cutie :) Take him.

Math was something that I have struggled with since I started middle school, but none of that seemed to matter in this class. This teacher helped me understand everything and makes math easy to those like me who have always struggled.

I am currently taking him & I think he is very easy. You might not understand him but you understand the math techniques he shows.Ive tried other teachers & so far he is the best. He could go a little slower but he gives you a lot of practice which is good. I make a a lot of stupid mistakes but the work is easy. I almost got an A in all the tests!

He explains very well and makes an extra effort to make sure you grasp at least the basic concept. His method of teaching is real, if you are afraid of math, he will help you understand even the most complicated concept. Obviously you need to attend every single class, do the homework and respect his class.Go to his office, he will help you.

Great teacher he has his own unique teaching skills he will go above and beyond to help you pass. I think when people say they don't "understand" him or his method of teaching they're talking about the slight language barrier, he does have an accent, but nothing to cry about! You can still "understand" him.

I hate/suck at math and I LOVED this teacher. He made math so easy to me, why can't all math teachers be this amazing? He's funny sometimes but explains the material so well. You have to print out the worksheets which you do in class. There is hw every night, book needed and in class study guides for test. There are also SI sessions for extra help.

I loved taking his class. He is VERY funny, always made me crack up. He gives a lot of homework, but it helped me get an A in his class. They are mostly work sheets and sometimes you will finish them in class. Don't buy the book just make photo copies of the pages he assigns I recommend taking him if you like math and understand it fairly well.

It was my second time taking this class. I took everest but he just wasnt organized. I heard about MR. RICk and I don not regret taking him for math. Math is not my thing, but Rick made himself available to help me before class. He gives 100% and expects you to do the same. As long as you put forth the effort, you will do well in his class. He's a great teacher and yes, he can be strict in class - but considering I was a little older when I took the class with a bunch of youngsters, I think he was only seeking the common respect a teacher should get. Not a class of unruly teenagers.

HW is just right. He gives you his own worksheets and test questions are like worksheet questions. This will help you SO MUCH. I have had several math professors @ Citrus and he is my favorite and teaching style/homework level was the best. So take him if you can!

Professor Nguyenhuu was a great math professor! He explained things very well, especially since I am visual learner so he would show you how to do the problems. He is funny and the work wasn't too much. Sometimes have to finish the worksheets for homework and do bookwork. Wish he taught other math classes. Enjoyed math because of him.

I honestly hate math because I don't understand anything but with him I found myself catching on a little easier especially taking it during the winter. It went by very fast and it was difficult but he was very helpful and didn't let me give up!

he is by far one of the best math teachers that citrus college has in general. there are about three or four professors in math that are really good and this guy is one of them. he is very approachable and he explains everything so clearly! i recommend taking his class especially if you struggle in math. i struggled a lot until i had him.

I am not a math person but professor Nguyenhuu made the class enjoyable! He is very organized and doesn't try to trick you on the exams. He speaks a little fast but he is very clear and informative on what he expects you to know for your exams. I HIGHLY RECCOMEND HIS CLASS! :) He's also very funny!

Attendance is very important to him and you can only miss 3 days or he will drop you. He always has a math book and lets people take pictures of assignments from it. The final is crucial. Homework is preparation for the final.

He's a really good professor and cares about his students. He'll go above and beyond in explaining things even if it touch a little bit on higher math levels to do so. Attendance for him is mandatory and you can only miss 2 lectures in his summer course. He even called and woke up one student that over-slept so he can take the final!

Math is not my strong point but he made it so much easier. He literally makes the subject so clear and fairly easy. He helps you out whenever you need it and will stay after class to help you. Show up and ask questions and you'll do fine. I am not a math person and still struggled a bit but I actually understood what I was doing for once.

Mr. Nguyenhuu is the best math teacher I have ever taken. He always starts from the very basic and works his way up to the more challenging stuff. Always answers questions clearly and gives practice tests identical to the real tests to make sure you are prepared. I have never been a math person and have always struggled until I took his class!

I never liked math but he makes it easy to understand. He starts off every lesson with a small review. Make sure to keep up with the worksheets and home work, both will help on the midterm and final. Overall excellent teacher!

I never understood math ever! The last 4 classes I either failed or barely passed. This guy made math so easy to understand. I took him during summer and there was ALOT of work! He goes over any hw questions on the board and gives time for hw. Him and his SI lady Kelly are sooo helpful! He's awesome TAKE HIM!!! I might have gotten an A but idk yet.

He's funny and very well versed in the material. He teaches a bit fast but if you ask questions, he'll slow down to answer. There isn't a whole lot of writing, nor is there a lot of reading. The only reason you desperately need the textbook is for the homework assignments. He is available outside of class, but he teaches a lot of classes so the easiest time to talk to him is before and after class.

I've taken Professor Nguyenhuu for Math 30 (Winter 2016) and Math 150 (Spring 2016). He's the best math professor at Citrus! He answers homework questions, gives a lecture, and allows time to do homework in class. There are 5 exams (final included) that're fairly easy as long as you do his study guides and understand how to do a problem.

Professor Nguyenhuu is a great professor! He truly does care about his students passing the class and will do all he can to help you. His accent is a bit hard to understand, and he teaches fast but don't be afraid to ask questions! He's very nice and attendance is mandatory!

I took him for math 30 in spring 2016 and math 150 this past summer. He goes over material quickly so if this is all new material (for math 30 specifically) DO NOT MISS CLASS. Cant miss class first 2 weeks or he'll drop you. doesn't really use the book (thank goodness) If you take him for math 30 TAKE him for 150 (similar material)

The book is not necessary. Gives book work a few times but it is much easier to go to library and copy the pages from a rented book. He is very funny and makes sure everyone understands the material. He responds to emails quickly and is easy to talk to. Great teacher and would take again.

Great Professor! Is very understanding. As long as you take notes and do the homework you can pass the class. Explains things very well and walks around to help students. The study guides for the tests are great and most times the study guide was harder than the test itself.

One of my favorite professors while at Citrus College. Tests are weighed heavily, however he gives perfectly clear lectures. He has no problem slowing down to help students, also very funny and caring about his students. The study guides are basically the test with small changes to the number, but the test has smaller more manageable numbers.

He is a wonderful professor!! He assigns lots of homework and his lectures are pretty long but he makes learning the concepts very easy! He occasionally moves very fast but he slows down and before tests he reviews the first half of class before the tests are taken.

Although you can't fully understand him, he is the best math professor at the school. Lots of homework but you truly do learn and he makes it easy! Tests aren't difficult as long as you study. I would take him again.

He's great! I never got a grade lower than 96% He's really good, it makes math really easy. I took him for math 130 over the fall, and 150 over the winter. Got a high A both times. Just keep up with the hw and you'll do good.

He was my first math professor my first year in college and he was really helpful. I struggled with math a lot and he would help me, he was determined to help you if you honestly did not understand the problem. He accepts late work and he is honestly a sweet guy. He does give a lot of homework but if you pay attention, then it'll be easy to you.

He is VERY approachable and patient with people. I have always been awful at math and never one to ask questions but he made math easy to understand and was always more than willing to help answer my questions. Professor Nguyenhuu is such a caring and amazing professor. He has very thorough lectures and makes Calculus easy to understand. He gives a lot of hw, but if you attend class he does some hw problems in class. He gives study guides out for every test. The study guides are very similar to the tests.

Took Math 190 with Prof. Nguyenhuu during Summer 2020. He is very straightforward on what is to be expected and how he grades. There was lots of work each week since it's a summer semester, but still manageable if you make the time for it. The class consisted of homework which is done in groups (2-3 people) and 5 exams.

So the zooms aren't mandatory but will help you and if you're at a 89.5% at the end, he'll bump you up to a 90% based on your performance throughout the semester. Sometimes the homework can be a lot and seem hard but if you get through that you'll pass the tests and they take up most of the grade. You will be in a study group so pull your weight.

Professor Nguyenhuu is fantastic! After taking calculus in high school, I was nervous for this class. However, he does a fantastic job at explaining things whether it is during the lecture or in the notes he provides. He is very clear when it comes to test rubrics, and the homework is split into group work so you never have too much. Great class!

He's an amazing professor! Homework once a week, due every Monday. Attendance is part of your grade. We were assigned a homework partner which is definitely helpful. We were given a study guide for every test and I strongly recommend doing it. The study guide is almost the same as the test. Easy grader as well. He also gives a rubric for his test.

Very knowledgeable and caring to the class. Professor will show up 30 minutes prior to help any students with questions to lecture, hw, or tests. You are paired with another student for group hw assignments for the term and will accommodate you if you have any issues. Professor cares for his students and provides recordings of the lectures.

Very passionate teacher that will spend time to ensure that you grasped the concept. Super easy if you are present for class every day. He does walkthroughs for all of the tests except the final where he provides hints that call back to previous lessons. There is also very little homework. Great professor.

Professor Nguyenhuu was incredible! His lectures were very clear and he readily welcomes questions for clarification. Before every chapter test, there is a day dedicated to completing a mock test which is genuinely helpful and helps you focus on what to study. Homework was due every week and consisted of a couple pages of problems. Highly recommend

Had him for Calc 190. He makes everything extremely easy to understand and breaks problems apart piece by piece which makes it so much easier to grasp. You can use online calculators for about 35-40% of the homework problems and he let us use cheat sheets for the first few tests. Tests have extremely similar questions to our "mock tests".

Professor Nguyenhuu does the impossible: he makes calculus easy. He gives a lecture that you can take good notes on, uses examples to show students how to apply concepts, gives time at the end of class to do homework, and thoroughly prepares students for exams. If you do the homework and attend class, you will not struggle in this class at all.

He teaches clearly and doesn't have a problem helping students individually if they need help understanding. Quizzes every couple of weeks have a study guide, which he goes over in class. He's there 30 min before/after class and lets students out if they finish their work early. Definitely would recommend this teacher!

My favorite professor for my first semester of college, mainly because I didn't worry about this class at all. He give us time to finish HW during lectures and is great at answering questions. Overall, if you're decent at math and don't have a problem with attendance, he adds a lot of emphasis to it, this class is no sweat.

This class was so easy with this prof. He had 4 quizzes which were a big part of the grade but they were so easy if you did the mock test (he gives one for each quiz). He also gives a study guide that you can write on the back of for each quiz. Final isn't cumulative. He emphasizes attendance and participation. He appreciates studious students.

I can't begin to explain how much I appreciate this professor. Calculus definitely isn't easy, but he does everything to make the class manageable & post importantly passable. Attendance is mandatory & hw is done in class. Gives you a lot to work with to be able to pass the class such as making up classes & office hours. I wish he taught Calc 2!

I took Professor Nguyenhuu last spring. I was expecting Calculus to be super hard and what not. However, it was very doable with this teacher. It only got super hard at the end, but even then I could handle it with hard work. He gives great lectures and the study guides he gives are EXTREMELY accurate to the tests. Put in time and you'll get an A!!

My favorite math teacher I've ever had. I'm shy and struggled a little but he was super kind to me and made an effort to help me, even during the tests! You can even write your own cheat sheet for tests too. Wish I could've taken him for my other math classes.

I had a B the whole semester and I mean the whole semester. Then comes the last test/the final and I absolutely bombed it somehow. My grade went from an 84 to an 78.96. I literally cried for two days straight. I checked my transcripts today and he actually rounded my grade to a B for my final grade in the class. This guy is my GOAT.
