i had him in phi073,gives some pop quizes after you read a chapter(at home)the book is small.Very open minded, likes to have the class talk,is easy to work with and is very clear when explaining any topic he gives 2 tests and was a plesureable A
He explains things well, although he maybe very annoying at times with some of the comments he has.easy quizzes, easy tests, and u read at home the chapters and prepare for a quiz, not a bad class.
very very easy proffesor, easy quizes, small book. You reaad a chapter and he gives u a quiz on it, straight from the book. If you get 60 on all 6 quizes u still get an A. Participate, he is the easiest A
This teacher was a nice guy, he also looks like IRS from the old wwf days which makes it tough to pay attention in class.
great teacher!! he gives a few quizes about the reading so do your reading and youll do good. doesnt give homework.
Very easy class to get an 'A' in as long as you read your stuff. Midterm and Final are multiple choice so very easy to pass.
Fun professor. Likes to have class discussions. Gives clear and understanding lectures. Easy quizes, tests.
very easy, and very thing is multiply choice. a bit of reading but not much.
Repetti is a great professor. He is so smart and handsome. I took him two times so far for classical philosophy and a logic class. I will take him again! He gives quizes on every chapter, short quizes with multipal choices and a study sheet for the final. He is a very smart teacher and because he is so smart he is attractive. Easy A's. I was his fa
Great, great, great professor. He explains things well, is friendly to everyone. Only tests are midterm and final. He reviews for both. Very clear. Very smart man. I'm a little infatuated with him.
Great Professor. He made the class very interesting.Once you do exactly what he says, your (A) is sure to come.
Great professor. Helps the students to start thinking and participating in class. Will help the student get the highest grade possible, but you must do the WORK and TRY.
he is very good. class is interesting and you learn a lot as well. he is smart and a great with conversation. hes cute as well and that never hurts!
Very Good Teacher, very open-minded lets you express your opinions. Overall Very Very Good Teacher
When I first took his class, I though I wasnt goin to likeit but as weeks went by fast I got to know him he is the best philospohy teacher, ther is, he explains himself clearly, just go to his class and youll see the difference
My absolute favorite teacher! He's fair, logical, open minded and funny. You have to read a little each week about phi. & get a quiz on it that proves you read it. Exams are just questions that are about WHAT YOU THINK! The texts helped me get through the stressful day, I RECCOMMEND HIM FOR ANY CLASS! just TRY, you'll earn respect & help if needed.
I took the Classical Philosophy class thinking we were only going to focus on the Greeks, but he does more than just the Greeks. If you're not obnoxious, you do the readings - which he gives quizes on, and they're easy if you read, you should pass his class. He also has alot of experience and makes it interesting.
not your everyday normal philosophy, i thought i was going to hate this class but i loved it so much! Great teacher who really listens to his students!
I thought this class was going to be boring, but I enjoyed the class alot. The professor is great and down to earth. I conscious of certain things that I didnt think about before.
he may be lookin hot, but i wouldnt say a good teacher. e gves readin quizes every week, midterm and finall are 20% each of the grade..so this is hot, but i wouldnt say its an easy class, u got to understand philosophical thoughts.
Please try to stay away from this professor. He doesn't know how to teach at all, and his notes that he writes on the bored are terrible. He is all over the place and unorganized with his work. He also tends to dismiss the class late, which causes you to be late for your next class. I wouldn't take him again.
As a teacher not bad, pretty interesting lectures. But as a human-very unfair, gave me a grade lower than he gave to people who had been doing far poorlier throughout the course. Criticesed an authoritarian traditional approach of today's education but himself excersised it. Crook!
He is unfair. Pretends to be generous however in the end gives bad grades even to people who received good grades on tests and otherwise. If he doesn't like you, he will fail you or give excuses for the bad grade. His lecture was horrible, unorganized and repetetive. For me it was waist of my time and money. He is always late. Wants to be smart but
Not bad teacher, boring, likes to talk on and on.. let's class out late & comes to class late.. Sometime's funny (that's the good part).. quizes every week (and no not based on your opinion) actual questions out of book you read that week. Note taking is not bad. Worst part is how he doesn't stop talking when class is like 5 minutes over already!
I read all of these ratings prior to enrolling for the class. Take my advice don't listen to them. They say two essay's that's it, what a lie! 10 question quiz's sometimes twice a week, but definitely on a weekly basis, sometimes you may even get three. Essay's are graded down to a T. Many people got D's on the essays. The midterm highest grade- 78
Sticks very close to the syllabus and refers to it very often. The class I took was a three week course of Ethics. We had daily reading quizzes, mid term and final, paper and journal on readings. It was a question per reading, slight variation. The class discussions were really good, he moderated really well and let the students speak and develop.
Professor is very helpful and gives you many extra credits. Although his teaching is boring, I think you be fine if you interest in his PHILO. Think much and ask as many questions as you can. Then, you be OK.
i took a 3 week course in ethics with this man. Honestly do not take him. He is too much. Very judgemental on opinion although pretends not to be. Definatley grades u poorly. So much for teaching ethics! Prof. Repetti isnt too ethical or fair himself. Dont do it to yoursevlves. And if you do try to keep your opinion to yourself. Dont talk alot.
I am surprised how he can teach an Ethics class if he unethical himself. I completely agree with the previous comment.
not a great teacher, very boring. does not give good notes and he also does not prep us for the exam at all. wouldnt take his class again. i dont recommend you take him
very informed knows the background of what he is teaching. will take time to explain. BUT does not take other peoples outlooks very well their's a difference between taking the opposite end and just trying to make someone feel stupid interesting if you're an intellectual if not you'll annoy yourself and the professor. a little to pompous for me
Excellent teacher and lots of essay writing so if you're good writing essays, take this class, interesting subject matter. You will do well if you work hard but if you do no work and come in late you will not, philosophy makes you think but you have to rethink it and come up with your own conclusions, definitely has attitude but so does everyone!
I love Prof. Repetti. Hands down the best professor i've had. I'm glad i was in his class, and im glad that i started off my college experience with a professor like him.
These negative comments about Repetti can't be true. He teaches at a pace that challenges the class, answers questions intuitively, never tries to change your beliefs but only gives you information that would help you create an informed opinion. Great teacher, funny guy, lenient. I recommend this professor to anybody that would like to learn.
Professor Repetti is the best teacher I've had in a long time. He's funny and entertaining, and his courses are interactive, educational, and rewarding. This man is a genius as well; he seriously knows his stuff. Stumping him, on the other hand, is highly practical and awesome, so give it a try! The hard work definitely has it's perks.
Professor Repetti is an amazing professor who is packed with knowledge about everything. In class, we not only covered classical philosophy but also talked about religion, modern philosophy and variety of things that made class more enjoyable. Definitely a great experience. Must take his class if you truly want to learn and enjoy philosophy.
Great Professor Funny guy (^~^) He has become one of the few Professors i will always remember. He takes great interest in his class and he is serious in what he has to share. Great as a person He will not make a tornado out of a glass of water so you will understand and enjoy his class.p.s why the site won't let me put the class and sect correc
Great guy, really enjoyed his class, even though he may seem like a hard grader, he gives you a lot of ways to improve and feedback. makes philosophy interesting and creates a nice class atmosphere. really enjoyed this class, and looked forward to it everyday. GIVES A LOT of material that will help you understand classwork so pay attention!
Mr.Rick is a great professor, patient, funny, and really comprehensive when it comes this his students and I recommended him to my fellow friends and students who want to learn and to have a great dealt of understanding of philosophy.
great guy, funny..my favorite prof in kbcc
Awesome!
Great professor, makes the lesson enjoyable, gives insights, help students who whant to improve their grades, higly recomended class
awesome teacher!!! as a returning adult student he made me feel so comfortable. Wonderful educator knows philosophy inside out. HIGHLY reccomend him.
Very interesting & diverse subject matter + organized lectures. Offers different versions of midterm & final, which is very nice (e.g. one entirely MC, one entirely essays, etc). Unfortunately his MC question choices can be too elaborate/confusing, & your final grade will NOT reflect your scores on your tests & essays.
Repetti is by far one of the best professers I've ever had he gets in depth with the topics and really makes you think I wish I can take him again he is a fair grader and he's big on participation once he notices you have an interest in the class and you do the assignments you wont have a problem.
Rick Repetti is a really nice dude and calm. He gives quizzes on blackboard with 1 question only. Test and Final are only 10% of your grade. Participation is 20% and so is the term paper. You have two short essays which are 10% each. Very fair grader. Always helps the students. Philosophy is just a boring subject but can't blame him for that. TAKE!
Take his class if you like to mind blown every once in a while. He does not pressure anyone to rethink their personal beliefs, he merely challenges his students to think rationally and use evidence/analysis to prove their beliefs. He gives a lot of extra credit, worth lotsa points. If you pay attention, it's a really fun class. He's also hilarious!
Thought he was a great guy, very funny, would love to take a philosophy class with him again. Makes you think about things you wouldn't think about.
He is an inspiration makes learning fun. I love to go to class
Loved him, want to take him again.
Readings due almost every class. Very boring lectures. Doesnt really include students into the lecture. Other than that hes a very nice guy
Professor Repetti is amazing. I won't say an easy A because you have to work for it, but he makes it easy because his lectures are entertaining, you will definitely walk away with some knowledge of philosophy. He is very funny and makes you want to learn.I highly recommend any of his classes.
Professor Repetti is an excellent professor. He listens to what students have to say.
Rick Repetti was always energetic and full of life.
One of the best professes I've met. How involved he is in the class makes the student want to do better for themselves.
He's a very intelligent and generally kind professor, with a lot of knowledge under his belt. The quizzes are a little tricky, but the tests are rather straightforward, you choose between multiple choice or essay (always choose essay, trust me). You may not like the content, but he is a really great professor.
Best professor I've had! He's there for you. He's very clear when explaining class material. There's a few readings but that just helps you for class discussions! His tests are exactly what he explains it to be and very clear grader! I would definitely recommend him to all!
Prof. Repetti is hands down my favorite professor , not only was his class intriguing but his teaching technique is amazing. He is a really down to earth cool person. Don't expect to "BS" your way through the semester, but honestly I enjoyed going to his classes. I highly recommend taking his class, you will learn a lot. BEST PROF EVER !!
Yeah he's cool, really flexible with the syllabus so expect changes. He likes to hear what we have to say if we make a good argument, kind of makes sense if you don't think about it.
Such an awesome professor. Respectful and relatable. Learned a lot from him, even took a yoga class by him. Such good vibes from this dude too.
Amazing professor. You will learn a lot and be completely engaged in his teachings. A++
His an amazing professor he has the ability to explain a topic and he is a fair grader He is so awesome!!!!
Awesome teacher , really understanding . Very fair grader. Definitely would take him again. Very funny too .
He is such as great person ready to explain the notes over if you don't get it . I really recommend him to anyone who wants to take this class
Professor Repetti, probably one of the best philosophy professor EVERY, his class is engaging and he wants your feedback on the assignments he gives to you. Most of the assignment consist of reading so please do it because the next day he will give you a test based on your reading. His test are not bad all you have to do is study.
Great person just do the reading and your good
Prof Repetti is by far the greatest professor I've experienced in my college career. His lectures are outstanding, he genuinely cares about his students and encourages participation throughout the entire semester. I left this class a better student and would absolutely take his class again. He's just a fantastic guy.
Solid teacher, breaks down the information clearly. A fair amount of reading and a daily quiz but most of it isn't terrible. The hardest part of this class is the lack of clarity on his grading procedures. It's pretty arbitrary, which is frustrating but understandable in a philosophy course. You'll do well if you enjoy learning about this subject.
Wonderful energetic professor with an excellent sense of humor. It was such a joy to take his phylosophy of religion class. Though I would recommend to involve students more into discusion otherwise it's getting a litle bit boring for them. BUt he tries his best to make it interesting.
Good professor cares about students he is very awesome if he see that your improving he will raised your grade depending in how well you do in your quizzes, midterm or final he cares about students he gives a lot of extra credit that can help you boost your grade take advantage please I recommend his class depending on your schedule
Interesting lectures, funny professor, pop quizzes are scheduled according to the syllabus.
I really enjoyed his class, the lectures are very engaging.
Prof Repetti is amazing, his lectures are well designed and allow people with various study methods to do well. His presentations keep you engaged and intrigued. He is very fair and gives quizes every class. He makes you feel comfortable to engage in the class and with your peers. Also, this course will make you a better person.
Great guy great class , loved it
Decided to take a chance and see what philosophy was like. I wasn't prepared to love it as much as I did and I blame prof Repetti for it. I had an amazing experience because of him. Take a chance, it's the most engaging class you could ever take. Wonderful discussions that make you think. Looking forward to reading the other readings we didn't do.
Professor Repetti is an amazing professor who cares about his students being engaged. If he sees that you are putting in the effort, he will be more lenient with his grading. Do the readings and participate and you will most likely do well.
Professor Reptteti is a great professor that wants to instill knowledge into his students. He makes sure students understand the material. I would take him again
Do your and you will pass the class!
Very boring lectures with a lot of readings. You have to participate in this class. If you're normally a B student he will bump you down to a C if you don't participate. I can't say I learned much in this class.
Professor Repetti is by far one of the greatest professors in kingsborough ! He gives amazing lectures and his perspective on philosophical topics are amazing. Take his class ! you will not be disappointed and will end up having a new love for philosophy.
changed my major to philosophy bc of him
Professor Repetti is a great teacher of all things philosophy. He is open minded and a great thinker, good at getting others to think critically. I had a great time in his class, as I enjoy the subject but he did make it extra. I would take his courses again if I needed more credits in that subject.
Even if I got a c he was still a cool professor so I aint even mad that grade was on me but he is an easy b not gonna lie
professor repetti is one of the best professors I took in Kingsborough he's very funny and his class is very interesting. he's not very hard on his students which makes it easier for his students to get good grades, highly recommend taking his class and would definitely take his class again.
Best philosophy professor!! Take him you wont regret it! He truly cares about his students and always there. He replies to emails and is always willing to help out! He gives extra credit too. And will completely make you interested in philosophy!
This course did something special for me. Before the class I was always having some sort of existential crisis. Now I can rationalize with myself and quell my anxiety, thanks to what Ive received from this class. Some of the concepts were difficult to wrap my mind around, but once I got the hang of things, I thoroughly enjoyed myself.
The lectures are boring and long. The readings don't make sense. He makes up tricky tests, so even after you heard his boring nonsense lecture and read his reading u r not guaranteed to pass. He will grade ur assignment a month later with a grade 1/10 and will not bother to explain. He writes good reviews here for him self. avoid taking this class
Mr. Repetti gives great amazing lectures, especially in tclassroom, which I preferred; due to COVID-19, the course went "remote" direction thus it's a mental/psychological test for both instructor & student and Mr. Repetti excelled. An easy "A", it's possible but dedication and, importantly, participation is a must.
I've been in Professor Repetti's Philosophy of Religion class and Intro to Philosophical Problems. I think his lectures are amazing, and he's always clear about what you need to get done. Pay attention and be involved in discussions and you'll be fine. If you do happen to fall behind, he's pretty easy to reach outside of class and willing to help.
May I just say I had to literally drop this class after a week. I got a 2/10 on an intro o yourself discussion board! How does that even make sense. His quizzes are very tricky all the answers look to be correct and it is only one question quiz. Even if you think your ready before the quiz you are not!
Professor, Repetti is one the most intelligent and one of the best teachers I've ever met. All you need in his class is willingness to learn the philosophy, to think and to talk about it. I changed so much after his class and he inspired me for many things. I would take his class again. He also gives extra credits.
Professor Repetti is a great teacher, loved his class. I Will def take it again. He responds to email quickly and answers questions. You just have to do the work and you will do great in his class. He also gives extra credit.
I took Professor Repettis class as an online course this past semester. The online set up was organized and clear! Yes, he makes you work but nothing insane just reading, discussions, quizzes and tests. Overall, I really enjoyed his class and it was clear that he knows what he is talking about and pushes you to really think .
Best English professor. if you love a mystery hes your guy. I took him twice. I have a blast the entire semester the projects were fun because they required thinking.
Honestly one of the worst professors I've ever had He does very little to help if you're struggling as well as rambles a lot in his lectures. He's also very unreliable and not helpful in emails
Prof. Repetti is a good prof, I enjoy his lectures but he is tough grader, and his weekly discussion are more difficult than his weekly quiz. (1-2 questions) Please follow his guidelines and you will be ok, he you don't he will call you out on it. for example word count on the discussions.
This Professor showed me that it is important to study not for a grade but for the knowledge. I was motivated to learn something new in this course every week and I enjoyed the materials he provided. He makes you THINK, OBSERVE, and LEARN. Be ready to study a lot, but you will get new experience and knowledge that will be with you for life.
He will accuse you of cheating on no or weak grounds. You are punished for appearing smart while he is caught making many silly typos and spelling errors. Kids himself and thinks he's super smart but is not. I was excited for this class until I had this professor. Avoid at all costs
So far, I am very disappointed by this professor not only have no access to Brightspace, he made anyone to use Dropbox to look at the *old materials*. For anyone who wasn't good at using Dropbox, take the other professors who would let you have access to Brightspace and understand the material in order to pass any Philosophy course.
Professor Repetti is tough but fair. Engaging with his specific teaching approach pays off - attend class, do the work, and you'll learn a lot. unstuck study was a lifesaver for quiz prep.
This professor was amazing. He's very engaged and is exciting to be in front of when learning. I really recommend you take his class. He is a professor who I can say really does love his job. He's a great guy. I got to know him on a personal level. However, he gave a pop quiz every week, which was one question which wasn't bad.
Prof Repetti is a bad person. He acts like he cares about his students but he doesn't. He cares abkut the topic but has no understanding of human interaction. Can you believe this guy is a counselor? I feel bad for anyone who encounters him, as he will go out of his way to put you down and make you feel horrible for absolutely no reason.
I'm convinced the positive reviews are from him and his family members because REAL students know how condescending and arrogant this pos is. He touts himself as this intelligent philosopher but is far from it. Definitely the worst "professor" I've ever had. I also think he might be racist because of the way he treats students of color.
