Normally I absolutely HATE 3 hour lectures because no one person can keep my attention for that amount of time but rick senior certainly can. He's so full of knowledge, has amazing teaching skills & brings so much more to the classroom than most profs. He has a great sense of humour and applies his career experiences to lectures to help us learn!

Easily our most interesting nursing class, the three hour lectures whizzed by. I also found that he explained medical conditions/treatments with a lot more clarity than our other teachers, and so the knowledge that we acquired in that class helped us out in other nursing classes (as there was often some overlap).

It is truly unfortunate that Dr. Senior does not teach us any other courses! He was phenomenal!

I love this guy! He is an excellent teacher. He moved through the content quickly which made it necessary to stay engaged and listen. He used great examples to illustrate the content, including physical demonstrations like the inflated glove to show how COPD works. It was an enjoyable class and I learned a lot.

This class was my favourite class this year by a longshot. The content was difficult, but he made it interesting, and gave significant examples of the concepts so that it was easier to retain.

Dr. Senior is by far the best professor the best Nursing faculty Nipissing has. I would love to have him teach more nursing classes. He knows his content well and knows how to keep the class engaged. I learned more from this one class than I have in all other Nursing classes.

This was by far the best class I have had since my nursing career started last year. I would say though, that the content would not have been as interesting or easy to comprehend if it were another teacher. Dr. Senior did a perfect job and I learned so well from him. This was one the most interesting courses I have taken so far in nursing. It was a very helpful class. The content was not easy, but Dr. Senior taught the course material in a way that everyone could understand, and kept the class involved in discussions and had everyone's full attention. I really enjoyed this class.

I could not have enjoyed this course more. Everything taught in class was extremely helpful and used examples relevant to topics we were studying that week in order to reinforce difficult concepts. I would absolutely take another course with this professor- a class like pharmacology where students struggle would be beneficial to have his expertise

He's a doctor teaching nurses... need I say more? He know's not only his stuff, but nursing too. He offers a refreshing perspective in nursing education & has an effective teaching style. Pathophysiology content is heavy, by Dr. Senior successfully declutters complicated jargon and isolates rudimentary principles. His expectations are fair.

Very specific and thorough in his lectures. When explaining the content learned in class, he relates it very well to his clinical experience and tell us his stories in order to understand the concepts better.

His lectures aren't mandatory, but I go every week anyway because I learn so much. His lectures are the bomb. Plus you don't have to buy an expensive textbook you won't look at anyways!

Amazing lectures - very entertaining! Talks super fast, so make sure you are paying attention and jot down notes! Lecture slides are concise but he does include information that is just discussed in class. No textbook which is great, and his tests are very fair! Really great instructor, each lecture is interesting and he involves students in each lecture. Very fair tests and lecture content. Overall a very knowledgeable instructor and I would definitely take another course taught by him. Would suggest the school would benefit from other courses being taught by him.

10/10 would recommend!!!! Seriously knows his stuff and has awesome stories from all his medical experience!!! Favorite class by far!!

Dr. Senior made this class a ton of fun with real life stories, and hands on tasks to help understand concepts. His grading was fair and the course information was extremely useful and related to my program. The information I learned has equipped me with the ability to understand other classes better. I would definitely take another class from him!

An amazing professor, who is extremely knowledgable and super funny. Was beyond excited for his course every week as it was filled with real life stories and he delivered the content in a great way. He uses diagrams and even gets the entire class involved by doing a real-life scenario. Extremely personable and a all around great guy!

Great teacher really knows his stuff. Lectures easy to follow and the basis for tests. Overall only lecture Ive ever been able to be attentive in!

This was the highlight of my nursing school. I could sit in Dr. Senior's class for hours. He has the absolute most alluring and interesting stories and he ties them well to the concepts being taught. A very inspiring person and a very inspiring class for anyone generally interested in pathophysiology, medicine and health care.

He was an engineer in the military and now he's a doctor... That right there says he's a really smart guy. If you have a question he'll answer you in a clear and simple way that you actually understand! He's interesting to listen to when he teaches and has a lot of funny and cool hospital stories. His tests are really straight forward too. 110%

He made me want to go to class and want to pay attention. All of his exams are very fair because everything comes from his slideshows. He makes everything very interesting, and makes all the topics easy to understand. I highly recommend this prof and I wish that he taught more classes within the program and school

Best prof I have ever had! Tests from the lectures and is very fair. Makes every lecture interesting by relating topics (learned in class) back to experiences he has had with patients.

The course was presented in such a fantastic and fun way that it made you want to participate and be part of the class so that you could get the most out of it. To future students take in every second you can of that class and never skip one because it doesn't get better and every day is both hilarious and informative. only wish it was longer.

Dr Senior was a fantastic professor. His lectures were full of interesting material including anecdotes from his experience as a physician and past experiences which he shares with students. Dr Senior made the content interesting and his class was enjoyable to attend. This is one of the only classes I have had that I would never skip.

Dr. Senior did an amazing job, he was able to lecture us on multiple concepts through out the year and not one concept was hard to understand. I have had many classes where lectures just drag on for 3 hours but Rick does an amazing job of keeping things interesting through stories, humour, and various activities during class. 100% best professor!

Dr. Senior makes lectures interesting. He is good at breaking up the lecture with sharing personal stories and experiences, encouraging class discussion, and adding in fun activities related to the course content. I typically find it hard to pay attention for the whole class during 3 hour lectures, but with Dr. Senior the time flies by!

Patho is everyone's favourite class. And it's because of Senior. He makes the class so interesting and full of laughs. His many experiences in health care really do help us to understand content as he is able to put ideas and terms into a simple way for us to understand. Senior would be an amazing prof for ANY course.

Dr. Senior is the best. His class is the best! His lectures always contain stories from his practice that relate to the content and he uses the students to demonstrate concepts such as going through a code blue. Three hour lectures fly by! He is funny, understanding and is engaging with us. I would love to take another class from him if I could!

My favorite class of university so far! He is able to hold your attention for the full 3 hours of lecture with his humor and personal experiences from practice. He's straight to the point and doesn't beat around the bush with information that doesn't matter. Tests are really fair and easy to do well. Would definitely take another course by him!

Dr. Seniors course is the best one ive taken & hes my favourite prof. Lectures are so interesting & relevant with stories of his experiences. I was always excited for his class & engaged for the full 3 hours. Ive never done this well in a course before & its cause hes an amazing prof. We need more teachers like him. Id love to have him again!

Dr. Senior's an amazing and considerate professor. He's extremely knowledgeable and puts great emphasis on teaching relevant information to benefit his students. He makes every lecture really interesting by incorporating real life examples from his experiences. I'm sure he'll be one of the best professors you'll have at Nipissing.

By far my favourite class and professor at university so far. I wish he taught more nursing courses. he knows how we learn and it is the first class where I remember mostly everything that was taught. I dont have anything bad to say about him other than its ridiculous he doesn't teach more courses that nursing students can take.

Dr. Senior is a great lecturer! His lectures were organized and engaging. He used real-life examples from his medical practice that made 3-hour lectures breeze by. He is a fair grader and genuinely wanted us to succeed, not just in his class but also in our future careers. Dr. Senior made this semester great & I hope he teaches us again next year.

His classes & tests are mostly based off of lecture material and what he mentions as important, but he ensures you understand the material before leaving class.He also clearly explains what will and won't be on the mid-term tests and final exam by giving weekly quizzes from the previous weeks lectures. He sets you up for success.

Although Dr. Senior has heavy lectures, he makes sure you understand them. His tests/exams can be quite hard but if you understand the concepts you should have no problem.

Dr. Senior is awesome. He's an MD so he has countless stories to tell in class to relate to the material and it honestly helps the material stick. He's super funny, always making jokes in class and highlights what is and isn't important to know for the exam AND for real life. Praying I have him again next year!!

One of the best nursing professors I've had. Engaging lectures, fair tests, and makes the material really stick. Unstuckstudy ai was a great supplemental tool for preparing. Highly recommend taking any class with Dr. Senior.

Very great prof. Content is quite heavy but as long as you stay on top of the material you should be good!
