He's a nice guy who tries to make a rather boring subject enjoyable. His multiple choice tests weren't that bad and the paper was pretty easy. He doesn't take attendance and if you need help or have questions, he will take the time for you.

Hes a real nice guy from kentucky. the lectures are long but real informative and fun...a lot of laughs...only get graded on 3 things...2 tests and a paper...the tests are not that bad if u just study a little...but not bad at all!

Mr. Cobb is one of those teachers who makes you want to go to class. He is very informative and uses very detailed yet interesting slides in his powerpoints. The only negative comment is that almost every class is a powerpoint presentation, so he doesn't like to mix it up, but he is fun.

Very simple and easy to understand class. Just 2 tests and a paper towards the end of semester. Tests based mostly on notes, if you read the book you might get 2 or 3 extra questions right on the test. Overall, pretty funny and class didn't seem to drag at all.

Mr. Cobb is one of the best teachers at Moraine. He is extremely intelligent and really gets you thinking on topics of today's society. Tests are easy as long as you look through the packets beforehand.

I absolutely love this class, he is one of the best teachers I've ever had at moraine. You take a lot of note, but if you print out the handouts, it cuts out a lot of the note taking. His class is the only one that I actually feel bad for missing and look forward to going to. Not to mention he has a nice accent and is really funny

Soc 101 with Mr. Cobb is the most entertaining class I've so far taken. There are two tests, a final, and a paper. Tests are over the notes but ask very specific questions so memorize the notes to the best of your ability. Attendance isn't mandatory and the class is interesting. I highly recomend.

I took this class online and it was very easy. There isn't that much work. You have to post on the discussion board a lot but he is very helpful when in need of clarification. I definitely recommend taking him for SOC101.

Cobb is awesome hes from horse cave, TEN. don't miss more than 4 classes don't worry its not hard cuz he makes class awesome. you don't need a book he has slides on black board that you fill in class. he started everyday with a you tube video. the only thing you need to do is study for his tests they are not hard and not easy just study!!!!

Very easy class. Attendance is mandatory, but everyone comes to class because it's fun. Three tests (including the final), and two easy papers (one is madatory extra credit). Take notes, study the notes, skim the book, you should get an A. If you don't, you're stupid.

Ricky Cobb could be a stand-up comedian. His lectures are laced with hilarious quotes which make the course material more memorable. He manages somehow to be both entertaining and highly competent and organized- a rare combination of traits in teachers, I daresay.

One of the greatest teachers i have ever had. Very understanding, and keeps class amused. i can honestly say i have never met any teacher like him.

Very clear. Very easy. Every week all you had to do was read the chapter, do a couple discussion questions with 2 responses to others and 10 true/false quiz. SUPER EASY online course. My first one and it was so easy. Recommend it online. It actually got me interested in the subject too.

I took this class Hybrid style. it was really easy, you get earn 40 points easily if you do the discussion board every week and 10 T/F quizzes every week were easy also. There was 1 paper, but the paper is basically analyzing someones life. Take this professor and you'll enjoy the class and get a good grade! (That's if you take it the Hybrid Way)

I took ricky twice when I was at moraine because of how great he made class, this was one class I actually looked forward to coming to. TAKE HIM FOR ANY CLASS and youll love it.

I took him online and it was great. You have to read the chapters he assigns and you will do awesome on the quizzes. The discussion board postings are actually really fun topics and are more opinion based so you can't be wrong. Take him, he was crystal clear on everything! Great teacher!

Always willing to help if you need it. Don't need the book although it's recommended I didn't buy it and did fine. Overall fun class but suggest you study.

He's super enthusiastic when teaching, won't bore you for one second. I took the hybrid class which is only meeting once a week for an hour. He was amazing. You have a quiz once a week on a chapter and have to participate in discussion.

All you have to do is response papers which are two pages long, double-spaced, and two questions for a group discussion. You just have to show up and give your opinion on something. He gave me extra credit a couple times, because he likes my papers so I ended up with a 105% in the class. We watch movies and read articles. Super funny and nice!!!

I love Cobb, but the class layout is a lot different than what i'm used to. one day we'll watch a movie then we have to write a response paper and then the next class we have a discussion on the movie/topic. the discussions are fun though, it's just different. it's nice because there's no tests either but you do have to give a presentation.

Prof Cobb's personality makes the class great. One downside is he does not post on blackboard if class is cancelled so if you go home for break make a friend that stays on campus. Powerpoint's are crucial to tests but the online quizzes you use your textbook. Overall great teacher and great person.

Amazing teacher and class. You have 10 reaction papers, and a presentation. All you basically do is watch movies and write 2-page papers on them. Participation is also a huge part of the grade, so make sure you speak during the class discussions. Cobb is a hilarious guys, and I would take him again.

Took this class online over summer and it was a pretty easy and self explanatory. The hardest part was the sociological perspective paper, which even then wasn't that bad. Do your assignments on time, keep up with discussion boards, and this class will be a breeze.

Super cool guy, attendance is mandatory, but like you don't wanna miss any of his classes, because they don't feel like class. It's cool though, because you do learn stuff. His tests are decently tough, but study and you're golden. Crude humor, and sometimes offensive so if you don't have tough skin and dry humor then I honestly would not recommend

Awesome teacher, hilarious, very laid back. My class was the 3 week hybrid over the summer, 1 day a week, 9am-2pm. Was not boring spending my day there, so if you have the opportunity, take SOC-101-350 over the 3-week May-June period. For this specific class there was only three exams and a paper, plus some extra credit if youre able to remind him.

He is honestly one of the best teachers I have ever had. I took 3 classes with him and he is extremely passionate about the topics. The class is not hard to get an A because there is minimal work and he is a easy grader. I have never recommended a teacher as much as I recommend him.

In this class the only graded assignments are 2 exams, the final, and 1 essay. The lectures are easy to follow along with but he does go off topic for a bit. There is a textbook that is required because he doesnt go over everything and text book things are on the exams. The class is easy as long as you read and do well on the exams.

Professor Cobb had me in tears every class- laughing tears. This guy is HILARIOUS, and loves applying everyday situations to topics discussed in class. Grades based on 3 exams and a paper. Doesn't take attendance after the 3rd week. Doesn't provide study guides for exams. Exams 80% notes and 20% textbook material. Such a cool professor, TAKE HIM!

HE IS THE BEST. Only about 6 grades in the gradebook for this class so as long as you do good on the ONE PAPER and FEW TESTS you should get an easy A-. Honestly, we just watched movies and wrote reaction papers to those movies for my sociology of sex and gender with him. SUPER easy grader and so hilarious! The papers were all super informal. I had him for my soc 101 and just finished up my soc 204. He is funny and very laid back and he grades papers super easy. 101 has way more work than 204, a lot of discussions in 204 and participating is graded. I have yet to hear from anyone who doesn't think he is an awesome prof.

Ricky was honestly hands down one of the most unique professors that i have ever taken, he is funny while also very passionate about the topics that were discussed. The class itself was very easy, he assigns two page papers which are really easy and he's a easy grader and doesn't like to fail people. I would defiantly take him!!

Professor Cobb has been my all-time favorite professor at Moraine, he is thoughtful, caring, and gives amazing insight. I like that we watch movies because it makes our class discussions about social problems easier to begin which allows the discussions to stem into genuine conversations. Pretty easy class. Great professor. As long as you do the work and the weekly quizzes you will pass. No proctoring or anything like that. There is one essay and it's graded super easy just to meet the criteria. Easy A as long as you get all the assignments done with effort. Professor Cobb was the easiest professor I've ever taken at Moraine Valley. If you don't show up to class he wouldn't care at all. All of his quizzes and tests are on Quizlet or Socratic. He's super funny. His lectures were boring and he says the book is required but I never used it. Very understanding and sweet 10/10! Take him you won't regret it!

1 to 2 quizzes a week. Lot's of discussion boards. 1, 4 page paper is due at the end of the course but is interesting. All quizzes and test are about the vocab you learned, with some more in depth questions about famous sociologists; and methods. Overall great online course, if you do some reading, and a lot about 1.5 hours a week.

this is the best online class if your a busy person. We has discussions, quizzes, exams, and a final exam. I took it during the summer, very manageable if u work full time. The discussions are controversial. I rented out the book but never used it. No honor lock for anything. Take him if u have anxiety about online classes.

Hilarious guy and class discussions were always fun with Cobb. The class is super easy all you do is watch movies and write about them. He doesn't care about attendance, and he doesn't care about late work. If you want an easy class, take a class with Prof Cobb.

Easiest A ever, EVERY exam is on Socratic and there's one paper he doesn't even skim through, it is mandatory but who cares the rest of the work is online. You can finish the whole course in no joke about 3 hours without the paper. Easy Gen ed. TAKE COB!! I respect him for it honestly.

There are discussion boards that you have to keep up with, engagement with your peers is fun and allows for different perspectives on topics. The instructor is pretty easy to follow you can work ahead which is great and the test are fairly easy.

Took online, very simple teacher. One assignment a week. Teacher is extremely difficult to get ahold of online, but he does have office hours in person to reach him. He never answered a single email. This class is so simple and the most he asks for is discussion questions and that you respond to other students. Worth the take though.

Besides there being open note/open book exams and no homework Mr. Cobb truly is so funny and such a great professor. I seriously don't think there was a single class that he didn't make me laugh. He is very knowledgeable and keeps things interesting. Take his class it's worth it!

He curves the exams, and gives out extra credit. There are three exams plus a paper no homework. So if you are worried about the exams bringing you down, keep that in mind. Exams are open book and open note. Lectures are straight forward. Cobb is a funny guy as well, he keeps you invested in the class.

Ricky Cobb is a very chill, relax, funny professor. He gives chance to get extra credits. 3 exams during the semester. However, every time he will always curve 5 points for every student. There is 1 paper to write for extra credit on your final. He always tells funny story. Sometimes he shows us video on YouTube. I love his teaching strategy.

Attendance not mandatory but he is so cool after the first day of class you will probably always want to show up after for the lectures. He makes them fun an entertaining and classroom seat set up feels safe and helps encourage discussions.
