Tells you one thing but means another. Don't trust him and don't ****him off because he never forgets a face (or a name). Do good on your tests and don't pay any attention to his shpeal about curving, he lies.

good guy, good prof, not horribly difficult; just do your homework (even though he didn't collect it for my class) and you'll be fine; explains things well but is strict about promptness (if you're late, he makes you wait outside until he lets you in)

Ridgeway is a very thorough, knowledgeable the best ACC professor I've encountered. If you do the homework and come to class you'll do well. He expects his students to act like young adults and be considerate of others learning curve. If you behave like a proper student you will do well.

Very thorough and a little boring (it is acctounting after all). He explains every concept very thoroughly and wants every student to learn. He assigns HW but never collected it in my class, we just went over all the problems the next day. He wants us to learn and does not drop any tests.

He is one of the best professors at SMC. He is helpul, clear, fair, and makes his class interesting. If you take his class be active, participate and do your HW. ONe of the best proffessor in SMC. wish i can take him for acct 2 but his got no classes offered. anywayz, why is is he good?...too many things to talk about so just have to take my word for it. I would rank him 5 for all but lets be honest here, accouting is not a easy class and it's not that interesting.

This is by far one of the best professors for acconting. I took another teacher before him and i ended up hating accounting but thnaks tho this guy im actually going into acct. 2 with a good out look, oh also participate in the class.

He is a great professor.The test is exetremely easy and have enough time to finish it. I always have 50mins break after the test.His teaching skill is also very well.He taught very clear and easy to understand.He gave us the extra knowledge related to business and accounting to illustrate the real-life situation.I will take his acct2 class too.

He is a good teacher. Only problem is that some of his tests are not the same as the format in homework problems. Easy B, hard A. Gives you to read book; he only lectures over info and does homework. Talks too much, but he knows his stuff. Take him if you are prepared for a lot of work!!!

The best teacher I’ve met . If you found the exams differ from the homework’s, the only two possibilities are that you miss too many classes or you didn’t do home work. His lectures are very easy to follow and exam questions appear the same way he wrote on the board or said during the class.He explains points clearly & concisely. Highly Recommend

Knight is a very nice guy.. I can't say that his class is an easy one, you'll still need to work hard. and doing the homeworks is super important. Cause the exams are mostly similar to what we did on the homeworks. anyway, i took him for acctg 1 as well, and i recommend you guys to take him if you really wanna learn accounting. Knight rocks!

Fantastic Teacher! Highly Highly Recommended! He explains most things clearly, and the exams are just like HW problems. I think he is one of the best professors at SMC. Take his class and you will really have the same positive comments as mine.

The exams are really easy, but contrary to most SMC profs, he DOES NOT let you drop a test. You can, however, make up points in attendance/participation. Of course, if you cant handle listening to 6 million head-smacking questions a day, I'd skip this course. Sociable guy, and WILL know your name/who you are within the first 2 weeks.

The best teacher to take for accounting. He is a genuinely nice person and genuinely cares about the students. There are 3 exams before the final. If you study and keep up with the homework (which he doesn't check but still do it) you will do just fine in the class.

Extremly helpful professor. He sociable, knows his stuff, and absolutely willing to help anyone. You can surely get good grades on his tests if you pay attention in class and do the homework, even though he doesn't check it. I'd recommend this professor to everyone.

Ridgeway is a great teacher and he really shows you that he cares. However acctg is not an easy class and considerable studying should be expected. The course is not an easy A but its not impossible. Just remember to keep on time with everything because if you fall one day behind it's a lot to make up.

I am not a buis major nor had I ever taken an accounting or buisness related class, but Ridgeway made me LOVE acct and even though attendance isnt mandatory I never missed a day. Why woul I? His class is so straight forward and clear cut, not to mention that he is hysterical. Take him, enjoy the class and then recommend him to others!

Makes a very boring subject somewhat interesting. Easy C, but you have to work for that A. As long as you come to class and MAKE sure you PARTICIPATE!! this is where the extra points come to play. most of these ppl complain, because most dont even make an effort to LISTEN in class or do the problems! do these things, ure good 2 go.

One word "Wow"!. I loved this man and so did many others in my class. It says a lot when a prof. knows everyones by the second class. So clear and so organized.He is not out there to trick anyone, for both classes just try to do ur homework. All he ask is that u be present and on time. He has definitely made a great impact on me.

He was a very helpful teacher that answered your questions. The one assignment that we did turn in was an assignment that was basically copying and pasting off of the sec website. Used the textbook for material and required use of online textbook companion for additional practice. Would recommend him greatly.

Never seen anyone who cares so much about his students. the guy will walk you through anything and will provide all the help you need. he is funny, smart, and knows a whole lot about business from practical experience. I learned a lot in his class and highly recommend it. Do your homework and you're golden.

What else can I say besides that he's a great guy and professor? All his tests are multiple choice and he is extremely thorough in reviewing the material. You can also tell that he really cares about his students. Definitely recommend taking him.

He is extremely thorough. you are the type of student that learns from verbal lecture thiswill be great for you. He lectures and slopply writes on the board, tells you to do assignments through email. I prefer more powerpoints, so i must say this teacher wasnt for me. each test 22.5% each test, final only on last chapter.

He expects students to read the text and do homework before he lectures and makes a lot of changes on book problems to suit his preference, but those revisions are all listed on a 13 page syllabus. It is very tiring to have to refer to his revisions, and takes away my will to do HW before class, which is not graded. The graded HW is done online.

This class is very slow-paced. You may spend 3-4 weeks learning material before an exam, which leads to a feeling of complacency to study last minute. There may be topics from 2-3 chapters on an exam. If you prefer fast-paced classes with tests right after a chapter, this class is not for you.

Knight is a a stellar professor. Tests are fair and represent homework assignments and lecture topics. Class attendance is mandatory. He explains topics clearly and in a friendly manner. One of the best professors by far. Though tests can be pretty tough, he tells you which in class examples are similar to test questions. Do the online homework to help study for tests and take good in class notes. Not so much vocab, mostly computational test questions. NO EXTRA CREDIT so do alllll the homework because that really helps in the end!

I actually like Professor Knight, I feel like he really wants all his students to pass the course and he will do his best to make sure you understand the material. Unfortunately, I ended up dropping the class because I wasn't receiving the grade I wanted. You have to really work hard to get a good grade in his course.

Excellent lectures that make the subject simple to understand, and some (non-mandatory) homework that you can use for practice. Amazing professor! I decided to be a marketing major until I took my first accounting class with professor knight, then I switched to accounting. He repeats every concept at least 3 times so it definitely sticks in your head! I wish I could've taken accounting 2 with him as well!!!

The class is not the easiest in the world; however he will work with you. I had him over winter session, and the 3 and 1/2 hours didn't seem to take that long. He is pretty funny as well, he is not dry or stuffy like other accounting teachers at this school. If you have to take this class I would suggest getting him.

Mr. Knight is the best professor I've had since I started at SMC. Accounting 2 isn't an easy class, and requires a lot of attention to detail, and time. I took acct1 with a different teacher and hated it. However, Mr. Knight made the 2.30 Hour class one of the most interesting classes I've taken, and he's extremely helpful and wants you to pass!

Knight is a solid accounting professor with years of experience teaching this subject. 3 tests, final, and online homework. He is very thorough with material and will spend a lot of time on each topic, but this is only useful if you do the practice problems he assigns (not collected). Prof, Knight is amazing. So far my favorite acc teacher. Ive always hated it but Im considering taking it as a major because of him. Hes very kind and will always be happy to answer your question. Attend class and do the work he asks you to (ungraded) if you do that its an easy A. 60% 3 tests, 30% final, 10% online homework.

Super crystal clear lecture. HW load is way less than other profs which helps you to focus more on the material than spending hours on online assignments and data entry. I tried five profs before prof knight and I can guarantee you he is the best. he builds your accounting foundation. his test are easy if you practice. BTW he is super nice & caring

HE IS THE GREATEST. Not only is he the best accounting professor I've ever had, but he is likely the best PROFESSOR I've ever had. He is really patient and never makes you feel dumb when your asking questions like a lot of professors do. He also offers a lot of online supplements like study guides and ALL the excel sheets used in class. 10/10

For starters Ridgway is THEE best. I took his ACCTG 1 Course during the Winter Semester which is 6 weeks. If your good at math, and not working during those 6 weeks then the course is a breeze. Took his ACCTG 2 course in the following spring and the experience was similar to ACCTG 1. Provides practice tests almost all of the time.

KNIGHT IS THE BESTT!!! I failed acct b4 w someone else; I took it again w him & wondered why I failed the first time. He makes u understand acct SO EASILY. I've been at SMC for 2 years and had the opportunity to take a class with Professor Knight during my last semester. I wish I had found him earlier. Out of the 18 classes I took at SMC he is by far, without a doubt, the best Professor I have had. That level of commitment to not only educate, but to teach on a personal level, is unheard of in College

Mr. Knight is a class act. He has practice exams uploaded that are very similar to the actual ones you take, which are extremely helpful. He is very thorough in his explanations and makes the concepts seem crystal clear. His teaching style may not be for everyone, but I found it made everything easier to understand. Definitely recommend.

Mr. Knight is a great professor. He teaches by doing a lot of practice problems, which may be hard for some to follow but personally I saw as helpful for learning how to do them on the tests. There were 4 exams and no cumulative final, which is amazing! As long as you study enough & do the review problems he gives before exams, you can get the A.

All the salty ratings don't even sound like they're about the Prof. Knight that I know. Accounting sounded intimidating to me until I met Ridgway. He likes to lighten the mood with humor during his lessons, he's usually clear/concise, and grades very fairly. He is always hinting at test questions. Many online resources too. Just pay attention.

He's a great professor! Online hw mandatory to help ur grade, doesn't check in class hw but I suggest you do it before class so u can understand when he discusses it. Give sample exams, which helps a lot. Participate in class cuz he can round up ur grade if he remembers you. Always take notes and I highly recommend him!

love professor Knight! I used to hate accounting because i though accounting was boring. But he explained the material clearly and offered lots of practice material. He didn't allow side talking because that disturbs classmates. As an international student, although English wasn't my first language, I could catch up the material smoothly. Pick him!

Professor Knight is the best professor I have had at SMC. He is able to break down difficult concepts and explain ideas in ways that stick. Knight is patient and caring and is willing to work with you to help you understand the material. If you are even remotely thinking to major in accounting you have to take Professor Knight!

ACCTG1 wasn't too bad but definitely work. The Connect assignments prepared me a decent amount but his practice tests were a LIFE SAVOR. I would recommend this class and don't forget to religiously study the practice tests. No extra credit either.

Great Professor! He is really good at explaining topics and will help you if you need it. Class grade is mostly made up of 4 tests but if you do the hw you will be ready for them. Highly recommend.

I would recommend this professor. I got a lot of new information and understood everything. The professor explains everything in an easy way. He is recording classes, for me, it is very important because I'm working and cannot be in class all the time. Classes are very helpful for passing tests. Not too much homework.

Lectures consisted of him explaining and doing the "accounting" on Exel most of the time; occasionally pulling out notes as well. Explanations were on point, simple, and straightforward; that goes for his HW, quizzes, midterms, & finals too. Attend his classes and that's all you need to understand everything, don't even need to read. Best professor

mr. knight slays. he makes accounting easy to understand and every class he reviews what he has taught the class before again. as long as you pay attention and take notes, you will be sure to pass. do the practice exams as they are identical to his exams with different numbers. answer questions in class and if he remembers you, it will benefit you.

AMAZING! Clear lectures and offers LOTS of help preparing for tests (practice tests through canvas, PDF practice tests, and thorough SI sessions before class starts). Not a fan of school especially anything number related. Knight has made this class a walk in the park and is generally a pleasant guy to be around. Even though the lecture is 2.5 hours long and demands attention I have never dreaded coming in. Class is based on 4 exams (Final included) Practice exams are available and replicas of the real things.
