He is an excellent teacher. I enjoyed his class very much. If you go to class and listen to lecture it is very easy to make an A in the class. I am looking forward to taking him for Texas Government.
He is a very interesting teacher, he is very funny and makes government real easy to understand, test are crazy easy and homework is important to do...this is a great teacher for govt.
Funny, straight forward, and really excellent at conveying material well. Keeps things relevant by introducing a lot of current events, and encouraging a good class discussion.
Pretty easy class. If you read the book, attendance isn't mandatory - but if you come to class everyday you don't even need to think about the book. Tests are straight from lectures and bonus questions come from the lecture as well. Does a test review in class. If you fail this class, college isn't for you.
By far my favorite teacher from my college career. Took him for both of my government classes and wish he taught more!
Super easy teacher, if you come to class and take notes, you will get an A. I never studied and got an A, I would just read over the notes once right before the test and do fine. Interesting lectures.
I love Rik. Has a natural way of explaining material so people can easily understand. Writes all notes on the board and that's what you'll be tested over. Go to class majority of the time and attend the oral review and you'll do great. I wish I could take him for every course.
I am in his 8 week class and I highly recommend. No textbook, just in-class lecture and he writes te notes on the board. He discusses current events at the beginning of each class which opens oppurtunitites for discussion. He is super funny with a great sense of humor because he is not much older than us. Very nice and only 3 tests total.
PROFESSOR SEHGAL IS SAINTLY! He has a way of empathizing with his students, in which helps keep class/discussion interesting. Attendance isn't mandatory, but recommended. Notes are short & simple, & help tremendously when studying for test. He is a very personable individual with a magnetic personality. Also very knowledgeable about the law. A+++++
Great
Great Professor!
Great teacher. Very active in the class. Posts frequently in discussion boards, and keeps up multiple boards for the entire course.
I took us gov online, and Mr Sehgal is hands down awesome. The class is very organized, easy textbook to read. Weekly easy quiz and discussion board, one term paper and 3 exams. Highly recommend. Great teacher.
Great teacher and willing to take time out to help those in need
Great professor, always willing to help. Class is easy IF you put time and effort in. Definitely recommend
He is very nice!! Helpful and constantly asks if we have any questions. I enjoyed his class. Helped me get into govt (boo) more and understood more than before. Take his class because his test are easy and he makes it an interesting class. Taking him for Federal Govt this coming summer 2.
He is an awesome professor! Very easy and understanding. His assignments are very clear just get involved in the assignments even if you don't know much about politics stay involved. He does take off for grammar or spelling errors but overall he is a very great professor who makes government an easy subject. If you take him you wont regret it.
Had him for fed and tx gov in the summer!!! Very easy and fun! I like that he has daily news about issues happening right now. He is an awesome professor!!! Take him if you want to know about gov straight forward! Plus you don't use the books that are so outdated!!!!
Took him online and got an A. Easy professor he don't trick you with questions. Everything right in the book and supplemental links. 3 exams, 2 discussion board a week-on controversial issues, 5pgs chose 3 of Bill of Rights, 2-3 quizzes a week but 10 questions. You will get an A. I read the book bcos I wanted to learn about the government.
He is a GOD amongst mortals!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Best teacher ever!!!!!!
Very fun & interesting class. Teaches very well & always had a laugh about something. NO book required or hw. I liked that he always talked about current news at the beginning of lectures & had interesting class discussions. Explained everything with clarity. Don't miss class because you will miss notes and he Gives extra credit Questions on exams.
Super easy. Every test comes directly from the lectures. Literally just show up to class, take notes (usually just what he writes on the board) and take the tests. He also gives extra credit on tests. I got a 409 out of the (supposedly) possible 400 points in the class. He's great. Would definitely recommend him!
Best teacher ever. Interesting and super nice and helpful would definetly take him again!
He is a great and fun teacher. He talks about current events which are bonus items on tests. He explains government in a clear understanding that visually paints a picture. I recommend taking him. No book used.
Best professor I've had by far. He starts class with up to date headline news. He writes the most important notes on the board for you to jot down in your notes. He also creates his own tests. He makes his lectures very interesting! He also gives a quick oral review before the day of the exam.
This dude is incredible a lawyer and a professor? the debates are intense and there's no right or wrong answer. you don't need a book, if you show up, take notes then studies those notes, you're guaranteed!!!!
LOVE LOVE LOVE Professor Seghal. As a student with the goal of going to law school, this professor is just awesome and interesting. He is a lawyer himself. Tests48-50 questions. Extra credit available essay. Class is easy and entertaining. Will cover Amendments, Politics, a touch of history to explain the constitution. NO Textbook required!!!!
13 Quizzes, 12 DB, 3 tests, 1 written assignment over the Bill of Rights and it was pretty easy. He was really involved with class and keeping us up to date on current events. Quick to answer any questions. He made it fun and interesting. Gave plenty of time for tests. Would take again!
Each lesson requires a timed quiz and discussion board. Does not accept any late work and does not let you work ahead. ( which is usually very helpful when you work) grades grammar on discussion boards as well. 3 timed exams. Overall pretty easy, just don't forget your discussion boards as each one is 20 points
Absolutely awesome professor (and lawyer!). Cares for students even after you're done with his class. Always talks to you when he sees you on the TCC hallway. Great lectures, up to date info on news (law, politics). Writes his own tests. Easy exams. Gives verbal review before each exam. Only 3 exams. Would 100% recommend. NO BOOK REQUIRED. Saves $$
I'm still in his class but so far he has been an amazing teacher. He talks about stuff that's happening now. He shows videos sometimes. Some of them are boring. We've had 2 tests and then we have 1 at the end of the semester. So 3 tests in all. He's really funny and I would recommend him to anyone. I'm going to take his federal government class too
Great approach on teaching and presentation of course content ESPECIALLY for this 8 week intensive source. Have a very good grasp on my rights as a U.S. citizen and how government works. Really clarified my reasoning to vote!
Online class. Quiz and discussion board every week, 3 exams over the semester. One 5 page paper, which was super simple. Easy easy easy online class. Would take it again.
Rik is a great professor, he is very clear and does not mind going over any confusion during his lectures. His lectures are interesting and he has a sense of humor so it keeps you engaged throughout the class period. Clear on material over test and grading criteria. I would definitely take again and would recommend him to anyone taking government.
Easy class, one writing assignment that he says he was clear about but not so much. I would take him again.
Really amazing professor! He knows a lot about government. Only 4 grades in a semester (4 tests) and one extra credit essay that can replace lowest test grade. I would take him again!
took this class over the summer & it was a breeze. he really made it interesting and fun. in 8 week course you'll watch lots of videos from BBC channel, etc. he lets you out early almost everyday! take notes & his tests are a lot like the review. I really enjoyed him... and he's attractive for an older guy. lol
Mr. Sehgal is simple, yet interesting. He is very clear on what will be on his tests and what he expects from projects. No surprises. His lectures are not boring either. He likes the students to engage in discussion about topics he brings up in class. As long as you pay attention and takes notes, you'll ace his class.
Overall awesome teacher. Registering for his Texas Gov. class for summer I. Take good notes and go to class! Wish I needed a third gov. class to take him for a third time.
I LOVE Professor Sehgal. His lectures were so engaging. He's easy to listen to and makes learning about government very interesting! I'll definitely take him again. You do have to take notes since the tests are very lecture based. His lectures rock though so it's pretty easy. TAKE PROFESSOR SEHGAL'S CLASS!!
He's by far my favorite professor. His lectures are enjoyable and his sense of humor makes the class even better!! Just knowing i was going to his class put me in a such a good mood everytime. The test are based on notes so don't miss class, take notes and you'll pass. TAKE HIS CLASS!!!
Class was okay. Teacher was alright, did not seem to answer my questions and seems like spelling is important vs ideology in place.
Awesome professor, his test are in order from your notes. He is super understanding and chill, if you plant to take his class its important you take notes to pass his test.
Took his online class. He's a nice, laidback guy you don't hear from much. If you do the work you'll get an easy A. Definitely take him.
Honestly this class was fine. I must warn you his questions can be a bit-obscure. Focusing on a single sentence rather then the majority of a chapter. I was very close to an A so as long as you memorize things well and keep up with the reading you should be fine. There is 1 essay that is quite long and can be challenging, so prepare for it early.
Cool dude i would recommend taking his class.
He knows how to teach. Good at his job and always helpful
(Texas Government): Professor Sehgal's class was a joyful experience. He knows the material well and teaches it well. Make sure that you show up to class because 99% of the material that will be on the test is mentioned during the lecture. This was a lecture-heavy class, no textbook. He is insightful and will help everyone understand.
will def take him for texas government!!!!
Great professor . Really enjoyed his class he is very clear and everything he covers is over current events. His class is not boring at all.
Loved Professor Sehgal! He is very laid back & makes Texas Government interesting to learn. He is straight forward with his teaching and doesn't give you unnecessary information. He also engages students by tying in current events in our government and in the news. If you pay attention in class, take notes, and review before exams, you'll get an A.
His class is based solely off of lecture. If you show up and take notes you will do fine. Study for the tests. I wouldn't necessarily say "easy A" but definitely very doable.
For a 5-Week class you have to make sure that you are on top of your studies you can not slack off in his class because he does not accept late work and does not give extra credit so make sure that everything is completed on time even better if you finish it early.
The online class is very straightforward. If you read the chapters, the quizzes and tests are easy. The writing assignment is annoying but he grades it very leniently. Overall it's an easy A.
This is my second time taking this professor (dropped another prof for Rik) and I absolutly love him. There are no powerpoints its all just his own lecture, but he makes it real interesting and easy to pay attention too. All you have to do is write done what he says and writes on the board and that's the test. I recommend him too all my friends.
He engaged everyone in a lecture and made sure you understood what he was saying every time. Has a very good sense of humor and will not drop you as long as you main good grades. Taking notes is the most important thing you can do in this class, so skipping is a bad idea. I have had him for 2 classes and would gladly take him again.
I love his class. He made class interesting and wrote the notes you should write down on the board. Always has a good attitude and good humor. Extremely nice and I would definitely take him again.
One of the best professors I've ever had. The course is based on his lectures that he does not post on blackboard so you have to show up to class and take notes. If you do that then passing is a piece of cake. Not to mention, he's hilarious and makes the class interesting and enjoyable. I HIGHLY recommend him.
Just go to class and pay attention. Take notes and the test is everything from lecture. The day before the exam at the end of that class, he just lists out all the concepts on the exam very quickly. I actually learned and he does an optional project (easy project) to drop the lowest exam grade! Amazing teacher.
He engages everyone in the class, he is funny, if you show up and pay attention tests are extremely easy. No textbook/reading and no homework, there are chances for EC. He definitely makes government interesting.
This is honestly the easiest class I have taken. The professor gives really good lectures. Pay attention in class and take good notes the tests are usually made from was is said in class.
This class to me was an easy A. Lectures aren't boring and Mr. Sehgal is funny so it's guaranteed that you will enjoy this class. His tests are opened ended so they can be rigorous but the notes he gives during lecture are basically the answers. I would definitely take this professor again.
This prof is basically ABSENT for his online courses. He requires 2 posts and 1 timed quiz each week. You may wait up to 2 weeks to for him to grade these very basic tasks. Not all of his quiz questions are directly from the text or power points . He may be great in a face-to-face situation but avoid this teacher for online classes. Frustrating.
Professor Sehgal is great! He uses videos, articles, and straight up facts to teach. He is lecture heavy, but he makes them very interesting. Make sure you attend class or get the notes from a friend!
Easy A just make sure you take notes and that will guarantee you an A in all your tests. He helps you understand government with real examples. His lectures are kind of fun and not boring at all.
Professor Sehgal is literally one of the coolest professors at TCC, I really enjoy his teaching method and how he does discussions in class, just do the work, show up to class( which is the least you could do as a college student) and you'll do great . 10/10
Professor Sehgal is one of the best professors I have had. He makes every lecture interesting and interactive. He uses articles, YouTube videos (hilarious content), and personal experiences to teach. Make sure you attend class or get the notes from someone else.
Professor Sehgal is very passionate about government and made the class to enjoyable to go to. His class is straight lecture, no powerpoints, no textbook, so you have to go to class or get notes from a classmate. He allows you to drop a test (even the final) and gives a paper at the end of the semester to help your grade.
I loved his class! His lectures are attention grabbers. He plays videos and he gives enough information for you to understand the material. He goes over what will be on the test and he is very helpful.
I took this professor for summer (4 weeks). Of course it goes fast. But assignments were easy discussion boards 300words. One big essay. And quizzes only 20questions. It was alot of assignments back to back. But the good part was that they were easy. Alot of reading . But definitely knowledgeable I learned alot. The book is awesome!
Professor Sehgal has been one of the best professors I have had. I took his Maymester govt class. He opened most of it up the first day so you could work ahead. He gave feedback on almost everything. There was discussion boards 300 words and exams that were 20 questions. Just make sure you read and you will pass. Very responsive to emails as well.
Highly respectable professor who teaches in a way that is fun yet very educational, making learning enjoyable.
I actually really enjoyed his online gov class. The assignments really add value to the class while also helping you understand the material. Pretty light coursework as well.
Profressor Sehgal is great, took him online, in a 8 week course. Not the easy A I thought i'd get. You deffnitely have to read the textbook and chapters for the answers. you cannot quizlet his exam questions. NOT 1. Overall he's good.
Prof. Sehgal is clear in his expectations, he provides a clear syllabus and his lessons are clearly laid out. The tests are straight from the book but make sure you read the chapters! You will not have time to look up every answer. The DB prompts are interesting and engaging. He does not overload you on assignments. Great class!!
lots of reading essay questions on the exams and discussion broads no extra credit offered in the course
This is not an easy blow off class for online. His test questions you cant find on quizlet, you actually have to read the textbook. NO proctor U, but Im mad because I was hoping this would be easy. He has great reviews and means well, but just be prepared to actually work for your A. Id pick someone else honestly.
he is one of the best professors I've had! yes you have to work for your grade but its college, of course, you're going to. his class is very interesting and his lectures are amazing. highly recommended
Good professor, you won't have any issues. Yes, you do have to "actually work" for your grade, but is that not what we came to school for?
Professor Sehgal is the best professor you can ask for. I enjoyed the course so much. He made the class so much interesting. He recorded the class to make it easy for student to go back and listen to the lecture again. Just read your note from the lecture and you will get the easiest A. Hurry and sign up the class, his class fill up so quick.
I took his Maymester online class, so we basically had to read a chapter a day. You do have to really read, but it isn't too bad. I was three points from a perfect score in his class. As long as you follow the directions, you'll do fine. The exam questions were straight from the book. He is consistent with grading; would take again
this professor was great! he gives you feedback for what he is expecting. The questions for the discussion boards are worded in a way you HAVE to read the chapters.. if you dont read the chapters your probably not gonna pass.. the tests are not quizlet based but open book/ timed. I learned alot from this class!
I took his 4 week online federal government class. I had to read a lot but it was interesting and informative. Theres a 300 word discussion board and 100 word article summary for each chapter. Theres also a writing assignment, a mid term exam, and final exam. Keep up with the reading. There is a lot of writing in this class.
My absolute favorite professor- I am taking him again for Texas Gov. He is very interesting to listen to, his assignments were easy, and there are only a few exams. You MUST listen to the lectures and take notes; all exams are open book, and they are not answers you can easily find on Google. There are only two 1 hour(ish) lectures a week.
Prof. Sehgal is great! It's more important to him that you learn something versus just following along. You can tell he enjoys teaching and he wants his students to not just pass but get something out of it. He's kinda funny too!
Took his 8 week GOVT2306 class and loved it. He makes the topics more fun, and is sure you will learn the material. Easy A if you listen to his lectures!
Took his 8 week course and loved it! History and government are my least favorite subjects, but he made it fun and easy to learn from. You have to listen to his lectures to pass, his tests are all short answer, but it's not as hard as it sounds. Would definitely recommend him!
Took his Texas government class on a 8 week course. Was definitely one of the easiest classes ever, clear grading criteria, gives great feedback as well, and answers emails in a fast and timely manner. The only issue I had was that he does take a while to grade assignments. Other than that, I would highly recommend this professor.
Do yourself a favor and DO NOT MISS an opportunity to take one of his classes. His lectures are amazing, you won't pass the class without listening to one of them and that's ok because he actually makes it interesting. Take notes and you'll be fine.
Course is lecture heavy and requires comprehension of both lectures and assigned reading. Luckily Professor Sehgal has a unique way of making lectures interesting and engaging. Most of the assignments in the course I took were essay based so be prepared to write 300-500 words. Dude is smart, but down to earth. Would STRONGLY recommend taking!
There is no textbook and you cannot record the lecture. If you attend, and take detailed notes you will do well. Funny and easy going. I was dreading the class and I ended up enjoying it. Every class starts with current events.
Just wrote a couple papers and that was that. He is kind of picky on what he looks for but the majority of his work is fairly easy. I got an A, and I turned everything in at the last minute.
His lectures are amazing! He makes sure everyone understood in class. When I would go to his class it did not feel like I was in school. He makes his lectures fun! I got sick with Covid-19, he understood and sent me videos about his lectures. Some tips- don't miss class and write his notes. His exams are easy and open-note Good luck!!
Super cool guy. Lectures are engaging and makes it easy to talk about the political climate. Homework/Exams are based from articles that tie with the lectures so be sure to show up for class! He makes this course pressure-free with his demeanor and knowledge of the material; I'm pretty sure he's a lawyer? What a better way to learn about government
He's a very nice professor. His lecture was very interesting. You can learn a lot of things from his class. Read the book and answer his question each week. We have a midterm test and a final test (both of them are multiple-choice). Take his class if you want to get an A
Hes very interactional
Took the online 8 week course and I don't regret it. His lectures are amazing, I enjoyed the class and I am not the type to like Government classes but I loved this one. Just listen to the lectures, take the notes and you should be fine. Test are not proctored, open note and are timed. But if you have the notes it's copy and paste, take him!
I absolutely loved Prof. Sehgal! I had him for both Texas and Federal Government. He was an awesome teacher! He made the information easy to understand retain. His classes could be boring because of the material, but he makes the material come to life during lectures. He shows good videos to make the information stick.
I personally hate government and never understood it but he made it very enjoyable and understandable. He is funny which makes the lectures fly by! The test are based of the lectures so they are pretty easy!
I've never regretted taking a class, but this time I did. The reason I took this professor was I read the reviews here. But my experience with him is the opposite. He just asked us to watch videos and read books, it was boring. When I submitted it, it took at least a month for him to grade it. If you are an A student, I do not recommend this class.
This is a super easy class, as long as you write down all the notes, the exams are an easy A !! Never uses all full class time and only gives one assignment every week, and its super chill and easy.
Professor Sehgal was absolutely amazing! He is big on grammar and following directions, so please pay attention to instructions. All of his assignments are article summary's and essay questions, not hard at all since he adds education videos to help you back up your evidence. 1 midterm and 1 final essay!
Best lectures ever! Attendance isnt required, however everything he says verbatim is in the test (OPEN NOTES!). Literally, as long as you take notes, its SUPER EASY to make an A . You learn so much in this class and I cant express enough how easy it is as long as you take notes. I wish he taught every class.
Professor Sehgal's online course was very simply structured and you barely have to read the textbook to understand the content. He provided a lecture video for every chapter that sums up everything you need to read. It's very timely and he posts the same assignments for every chapter.
The way he teaches his class is really simple and doesn't cause any stress. Everything is straightforward the lectures are very informative and feel like you're actually learning useful information there's no "just cause" assignments just for grades. The grades are based on how you are preserving the lessons being taught.
Excellent guy! Doesn't email much. Just write down whatever he writes down, and anything else you want to add on top of it (after he says it). VERY LITTLE HOMEWORK or quizzes. So DO THEM! He takes off 5 points per day for late assignments. The only people who did bad in my class on quizzes were the ones who were lazy & didn't take his easy notes.
One of my favorite professors I've taken at TCC. He was really easy to listen to and learn from, and he was clear with his notes and what was going to be on the test. He was understanding and didn't pile on unnecessary work, I'm taking him next semester for Texas government. Also was pretty funny and made class lighthearted.
My fav prof!! Lecture-based, but each class was so entertaining. Genuinely learned a lot! Very laidback w great humor (he even helped me score concert tickets in class!!) but still transparent about expectations/standards. No homework/group projects! 4 tests and 1 essay. Highly recommend!! No EC but show up to class and you'll be able to pass!
take if you are a good writer and like writing, prof. graded fast and provided feedback. Took the class online. class breakdown: 10 chapters+10 vids(average 30 minutes each). 2 assignments for each chapter; the first is 300 words, and the other 200 words. so 500 words per chapter. 500*10=5000. 60% there were also 2 tests that were open book. 40%
No HW, just four quizzes and one writing assignment at the end. You will be fine if you write down what he writes down on the board and review it before the tests. EC on exams with 2-3 EC questions. His lectures were actually interesting, easy class.
There are only 4 tests and 1 writing assignment. The course is lecture heavy. Make sure to take notes and if you miss a day, get the notes from a peer. Before every test he does a VERY QUICK review the class before, so make sure to write everything down and learn it well because it covers what the test will be about.
Professor Sehgal was absolutely wonderful! He managed to take a class I wasn't particularly interested in and turn into something fun and enjoyable. The lectures were easy to follow and assignments were fair and manageable during summer learning course. I will 100% recommend him to anyone looking to take his courses!
Rik Sehgal is an amazing professor! i would highly recommend his class. Don't even think twice about taking his classes just do it! His lectures are probably the best lectures i've ever heard. He makes class actually enjoyable and you'll definitely catch yourself looking forward to it. If i could take his class again i would 10 times over
I did the 8 week course and got an A. TAKE THIS CLASS. Here is what you need to do to pass: Do not miss class, pay attention, and write a few notes. You have a few exams and discussion boards. Thats it! TAKE THIS CLASS!!!!!!!!!!
the best teacher ever, i took him for both federal and Texas govt. His lectures are so interesting, and he has a good sense of humor. I definitely recommend him. exams are easy if you go to class and participate
This class was easy but you have to take A LOT of notes and pay close attention to each lecture. Make sure you watch and read each lecture when it is posted or you will be behind and will have to cram in a bunch of information before you take midterm/final. Midterm and final are worth SO MUCH of your grade!!!
Took Professor Sehgal's, 5 week summer class. Really easy class make sure you take the notes when your supposed to because its on the mid term and final (he make's his own questions word-for-word from videos). 2 test mid term and final, 4 assignments (essays - 600 words). Really easy class he provided lecture videos and reading links.
Two tests, midterm and final. 4 Assignments where you write 200-600 words. Tests are not proctored because you learn entirely from lectures. 15 Lectures, roughly 30 mins each. His lectures aren't boring either. Tests are 25 questions with 90 minutes, very, VERY easy if you watch the lectures and check out sources.
I loved this class! There was one research/writing assignment per week and they weren't too difficult. Only two exams, which had many questions directly from the lectures. Make sure you take good notes during the lectures and read the materials he assigns! Some of the assigned reading was long, but if you power through it you'll do well.
I took this professor for the one month Texas government class. My friend dropped out after seeing week ones reading and assignment links, however it was actually very easy. There were 4 assignments, all small 300-600 word essays. There are also 14 lectures in total and 2 tests. It was easy as long as u read the links and took notes during lectures
Professor Sehgal makes this class a breeze! Straightforward lectures, fair assignments, and generous grading. Unstuck AI was a lifesaver for quick study prep. Just take good notes, complete the work, and you'll ace this easy A+ course.
