She's really cool but she sounds mean and hard at the beginning. It's an interesting class and you won't be bored. Her tests are not hard, but she thinks they are for some reason.

If you like discussions on current events whether they pertain to the class or not, then this is the class for you. Her tests/quizzes are not difficult. Personally, I think she played the favorites game.

Reading your text book and study guide will guarentte A.She reads the text book in class and strays allot from the topic. Its a flashback to high school. She assigns seats and no leaving early on her bad days. She will scold you in front of others. Crazy teacher but easy.

I love Kahla! When God created good people, her name was in hand. She may be strict with people that are tardy, but hey it's there fault-if they are not responsible enough to show up on time (your'e in college now baby cakes). Tests were a little tricky, not the "Easiest A" but none the less she's a captivating instructor & worth the effort!

One of the easiest classes ever. All you have to do is show up and read the book to ace the test. You don't even have to listen to her lectures because everything she says is from the book. but her lectures are still interesting to listen to.

One of the most down -to- earth teachers I've yet to meet here at ELAC. Bumped into her while running around campus trying to add one more class to my schedule, she graciously offerred to add me to one of her classes and it quickly became my favorite class of the semester. The text is very current and she makes it very interesting. Great Professor.

she was a good teacher. i liked her class and the textbook that accompanied it. very interesting! the honors class had to write a long research paper, but we had months to do it. her quizzes are quite easy if you read the chapter, take notes on it, and take good notes for her lectures. she lets you have a cheat sheet for the final.

Kahla"s class was ok i took her for marriage and family but it ended up being just a class where everyone complained about their boyfriends/girlfriends. The professor gives fascinating lectures and tells it like it is! The only downside I could think of was that we could not review our objective tests. I learned so much! Participating in class discussions is important for your grade. Only required one written paper. This class was a tad harder than I thought it would be.

Professor Kahla was very clear cut on what she expects from her students. The syllabus guidelines are very clear and if you can understand what is expected, you should do fine in her class. I have taken Dr. Kahla for 2 courses and I can say that the class is easy as long as you read the book. The lectures start with answering most questions about the reading then goes off tangent. I don't mind the heavy discussions but I hate her attitude. We had a confrontation and we resolved it but I always felt like I was walking on eggshells.

Dr Kahla is a awesome professor, very knowledgeable, demands respect but is fair. She leads very informative lectures, she demands alot of reading and you have to know your stuff. I hadn't been to college in about 6 years before I returned to attend ELAC and I am glad I started with her class.

Professor Kahla is very caring and understanding when it comes to her students. She comes off as very strict at the beginning of the semester but what else do you expect, It's College! No cellphones are allowed, no looking around or taking notes while she lectures. As long as you do the reading and participate you will do fine.

Kahla is a great professor. Her class is not too difficult, just make sure to read. She is very into discussion and is open to questions. She may be intimidating at first, but if you talk to her, you'll realize she's actually nice and cares about the students. This was an interesting class and there wasn't too much hw. P.S: Don't use your phone!

I love my experience with Dr. Kahla, she provides up to date social issues and makes you think how society affects us all one way or another. I'm sad the semester is over and I won't listen to her lectures. She isn't easy and doesn't play around. DO NOT bring your cell phone or come late to class. Her tests are tricky and based on the readings (even the graphs and side info)! She grades her papers like an English prof and will take points for missed periods. Overall, great class and EVERYONE should take it. Self love is something alot of yall are missing and would benefit from. She hates people being late (beginning of semester)& NO PHONES!

I walked into the class thinking it would be an easy A. Dr. Kahla takes u out of ur comfort zone & really makes u think. Tests are easy, just read the ch. she gives bonus points every test.

Shes amazing I actually want to change what I'm transferring now. She is so smart and she likes students to contribute to the conversation in her class. She is big on attendance and no phones in class. You have to read for the tests but they're not ridiculously difficult.

This professor was strict, be on time. But her class was amazing. You should read before class and classes are just about having a discussion and asking questions. Not afraid to speak on any topics. Truly cares about students

Professor K is one of the best professors I've ever taken in college, period. She really cares about you as a student/person and wants to help you succeed. With sociology as my major, I can honestly say this class was amazing whether you're interested in soc or not. I'll definitely take more classes with her. Don't be late and don't use your phone!

I definitely recommend this class. She was an amazing professor, she makes the class very fun and interesting. I really felt comfortable to participate and share. All class work and test are very straight forward. I am definitely going to take her again.

Professor Kahla is amazing! the discussions in class very very ingaging and easy to follow. The book is an easy read with stories included which helped for better understanding. I took her in winter and am even taking another one of her classes in spring. I highly recommend for any soc majors and students just taking the class for credits.

I took her super early 7am class and she was all like, "Why would you take this class?" in a really sarcastic but not in an offensive way. I laughed and was added to her class. Dr. Kahla is an amazing professor she's very caring, if you work with her she'll work with you, as long as you don't wait 2 weeks to tell her you missed class or that you need to retake a missed exam. She also lets you take notes in class as well as take notes on your laptop, ignore the comments that say other wise. Participation matters as well.

Professor Kahlas lectures are amazing! if you ever need to talk to her, she is very helpful. She makes the subjects easy to understand because she gives real life & relateable ex. Test are based on the reading and covers the chapters thoroughly, no reason to fail, no research papers just your perspectives on certain subjects. Love all her classes

Dr. Kahla is an extremely intelligent woman. Her lectures taught me a lot about myself. The class itself revolves around an immense amount of reading and testing. Students should read and study, weekly, to expect a good grade.

Tough professor and very effective. I learned so much in this class. My favorite part are the lectures because everything she says is always interesting and meaningful. Too bad I couldn't record the lectures, they are very valuable. She's intuitive and very serious about her students' education. Although this class was hard, I'm glad I took it.

Professor Kahla is the ideal professor to take if you participate in class, want your opinions heard, and keep up with assignments/study for tests. The fact that she took the time to have live lectures in the middle of a pandemic says a lot (not all professors did). No matter what your opinion is, she hears you. I have never written a review for any of my professors except for Dr. Kahla. I was surprised at to how much I really liked this class, more specifically Sociology in general. I really enjoyed this class, just be prepared to read every week. The tests on Pearson help you for the real tests that they assign. :)

Professor Kahl is a great professor as long as you participate you will do great in the class. If you sit there and never participate, never provide you're own thoughts etc she will take that into account when she releases final grades. I took her right before I transferred from Elac spring 2022! she congratulated me and I think of her class still.

She is a straight shooter that cares about her students! To get a good grade you have to participate, read the book, and come to class. I enjoyed her open mindedness in class debates.

Dr. Kahla is the best professor I've had at ELAC. She is very knowledgeable and integrates ongoing issues into to the class to give real world examples. This is not an easy class by any means but if you get help from her and put in the time to read and review for every test and paper you will succeed in her class. I can't recommend her class enough

Getting out of work at 6 + traffic and class starting at 6:30 sounds tiring right? Not with Dr. Kahla! This professor is one of those people that really lift your mood and let you enjoy the class along with the class environment. I feel like I've learned a lot. This is the first time I have given a rating to a professor. I took Dr. Kahla summer 2024 online class. She is very organized. If you want to grasp good knowledge about a course, take her class. She even inspired me to get involved in the current critical social problem. you will also learn important writing rules, citation guidelines, and more.

Professor Kahla brings a lot of energy and passion to her lectures. The workload is manageable, and she's willing to work with students. I found Unstuckstudy helpful for test prep - definitely an asset in this class.

Amazing professor. Forget negative reviews. She includes everyone in her lectures and really wants to be in depth with what she is teaching which was amazing for me. I would recommend 100 times out of 100 times. Awesome term!!

She's interactive, will expect participation from her students during lectures which are more like 2 way conversations between her and students. Very knowledgable and supportive. Don't know what the negative reviews are about. Read the book, listen to the lectures, participate during class by joining the conversations and you'll pass.
