She is very intelligent,however she is hard to understand. She tries to do everything she can, yet alot of things are left unclear. Very nice women, just not that good at making the class fun. Posts notes on web. Must study notes thoroughly to do good.
Knows her stuff but very boring.
Very hard. She cannot speak english very well and her notes are really long boring and not unorganized. I hated this class more than anything. I found it incredibly hard to go to class.
Decent class. I learned a lot so the class wasn't a complete waste. She is hard to understand. The quizzes were pretty easy but the tests were a little tricky. But she does give a lot of EC opportunities! And DO THE STUDY GUIDE!!!
This **** can't speack any english! Haha very funny when she tries to pronounce all the bacteria names. Well I do not reccommend to take her. Her tests are tricky and there is always a ton of**** to do in this class. Take Mrs. Barclay she assigns 75%
grades the activities at an unreal level...sucks
Geez this teacher is a nut! Do not take her if you need to take sanitation. I laugh only because she is hindu and you know those types cannot talk. Her quizzes are tricky and the final was impossible. Good luck if you take her.

She isn't that bad of a teacher she is just very boring and loud, which gets to be annoying. The whole class period is spent taking notes from a powerpoint. I don't mind her, but I know alot of people can't stand her.
TERRIBLE TERRIBLE teacher....first off she cant speak english well, and the english she can speak is spoken in the most annoying voice EVER!!! Her class is so boring AVOID AT ALL COST!!! She expects you to know every small detail of every culture in the world.....far too impossible...STAY AWAY!!!!!!
Very nice and personable. She has a dry sense of humor but it's so funny when she tells a joke with a serious face and no one gets it!

She curved the all the test if you have half an idea about Nutrition you can get a C without really having to pay attention and with out reading just go over the slides to study she is hard to understand an stay awake for but she takes random attendance and if you miss without an excuse you fail
Her voice is VERY annoying and I really dont believe there is any way anyone could fall asleep. So far her quizzes have been hard and she expects you to take notes on what she says but, you cant understand her so pointless... Terible... aviod the Whitamins!!!

She's hard to understand. Her class is so boring all you do is look at slides. The notes you can get on the internet. She has this pitch to her voice that makes you want to rip out your ears!

She is HORRIBLE. She would expect you to spend ALL of your time outside of class to go to her things, and help her out. Plus you couldn't even understand her in class.
She's a little hard to understand at first, but don't let that stop you from taking one of her EASY CLASSES. She puts all the assignments on Blackboard so you can get them WAY early (like 2 months early) and get bonus points for turning it in early. She's funny once you understand her. I've had her twice now and she's actually pretty good.

Soo annoying my roommate and i actually recored her voice on my phone to have our friends listen to her cause they couldnt beleive the stuff we were saying...you cant understand her, the class is boring as F*** and her tests are impossible..no joke...drop the class if you can!

You'd think being able to speak in a clear and understandable manner would be a requirement to be hired as a college professor. This lady proves that isn't true. She can't even write assignment sheets that can be understood. AVOID AVOID AVOID
Can't understand her one bit. Not a nice lady at all. She gives notes where you have to fill in the blanks while she's giving lecture, but most of the time you can't understand what she is saying. She also gets upset if you ask her to repeat herself. Don't take her if you can't avoid it!

she's not as bad as everyone says, though she is very hard to understand. hw is easy once you figure out what she meant by the instructions. go to class, use the slides, tests are right off slides. don't need to buy book, never use it.

I thought Mrs Kaul was pretty cool. I dont know why there are so many bad ratings. Shes kindof funny sometimes too. She lets you hand assignments in whenever and you can redo everything if you get a bad grade.Just study slides and you will pass.I thought this class was pretty interesting and Mrs Kaul was cool as hell.U get free food too its awsome.
I did very well on homework and not so well on tests and exams. I wish I had tried to connect with Rita one to one earlier on. Once I made that connection she was much easier to work with and has been nothing but helpful since. She's difficult to understand and the homework isn't clear but with a little effort it's not bad.
i liked mrs. kaul a lot. i think she has a funny personality and she is very helpful. get on her goodside at first and she will be a lot easier to work with. She can be hard to understand at times, but i didnt have much of a problem. her tests werent too hard, and she had lots of opportunities for points. i recommenend taking her, shes pretty funny
Very difficult to understand. She has a tough time spelling words correctly. For example, she spells the food tiramisu, "terrmesue". Class is very difficult and VERY boring avoid if at all possible.
She is ok but does not follow syllbus well. She needs to calrify due dates because there is a lot of confusion!

Avoid at all costs! Do not subject yourselves to the torture that is Rita Kaul. Cannot pronounce her V's. Horrible teacher, barely understandable. Mispells words all the time including words on exams! For example, she spells potato potao AND she actually said that there were 8 days in a week!! Class is VERY boring, pick a different teacher.
Had her for 300 and 305 and she is great. People are just lazy and complain about her because you actually have to study and attempt to understand other cultures. She gives lot of extra credit so you can get b's on all the test and the projects are easy it just takes a little time to do, they are all small and there about 4 of them.
Mr's kaul is da best ever in WIU. i highly recommend this class. i was takin this class as fun and i got an A.
Shes a nice lady, but this class is so boring. its mandatory for most people who are taking it, and its really not hard. i thought it was a blow off class, and some of it is common sense but not all of it. definitely study, class is mandatory which sucks so dont take an 8 am like i did. overall not bad, need the book, and go to class.

shes an awesome teacher..first of all get this straight..YOU ARE NOT IN HIGH SCHOOL ANYMORE..u cant get an A just by bein a teacher's pet..shes really easy, projects are easy, tests are easy...if ure doing bad..she'll let u make up missed projects or give u EC..shes super nice..i got an A in her class.. PPL are just dumb and dnt wanna work hard..
Lets you turn in work late, does not take attendance but does random little 5 pt attendance assignments to check sometimes. Quizzes and tests are not that easy, study! It might be just Food but she goes into sooo much detail. A little hard to understand at times. Only give like 4 activities over the sem and all are EASY and totally B.S.able.
there's no doubt that she knows what she's talking about. however, her ability to teach the information kinda sucks. this class is time consuming so if u really have no interest, don't take it unless u need to. her test can be hard and confusing if u don't study.

She is hard to understand and the class is really boring. Test are really hard but you can get a really good grade on them if u go to the study groups which she gives extra credit for attending. Also gives extra credit for a lot of things. She gives a lot of quizzes that are hard. I would never take another class with her.
I don't think this class was all that hard, HOWEVER she is majorly lacking in the compassion department. After missing ONE class for my 24 year old cousin's funeral, I emailed her about a project. She responded with "it helps to come to class". Seriously?? Who says that?
You can tell a lot of these bad reviews are all emotional. Give a review that's grounded in logic, not a tantrum. If you have no interest in dietetics you likely won't enjoy her class but if you do, you'll really come to respect her. She's very intelligent and has a sarcastic sense of humor that goes over (dumb) people's heads. Could be more clear
Mrs. Kaul is a horrendous teacher, avoid her at all costs. Don't believe a word of what people say about how "she's so helpful!". They're lies. She yells at you for asking a question during class so forget about getting any help. Do not take sanitation or nutrition with her!!!
Rita has a strong tendency to squawk all the time, and none of it is comprehendable. She also goes all the way up to the last second of class just because she can. It's a little out of control. All in all I wish I'd have taken everyones advice and avoided her, and I pass the same message to you; avoid her at all costs.
She needs to work on her english big time. hard to understand. her grading is DUMB easy and she will let you redo your papers until u get an A. people who don't like her never get to talk to her. go in and talk to her a couple of times and u will like her. that is the key to success in college is getting to know ur teachers. learn that asap
She makes you feel stupid for asking questions. I asked her for help on a question, #9, she told me to read the book. I said I have four times but I will read it a fifth. The entire class gets an email the next day saying please note I redid question #9. It was her fault but gave no help at all! I would drop but shes the only one who teaches this
Can't understand her, her slides don't help when it comes to the test. She is rude and does not like to help students, however she does a good job on makeing the students feel stupid for asking questions! DON'T TAKE HER CLASS! But unfortunately she is the only one who teaches FCS 305 right now!
rita is super nice. ppl who don't like her don't try at all. learn her humor sit in the front and talk to her after class with a positive attitude and she will like you.
Don't waste your time. Dropped the class due to her terrible attitude toward students, and based off the fact that she doesn't speak comprehensible English.
Literally nothing talked about in class were on tests. Quiz and test days were switched all the time. She changed grades online all the time. She doesn't listen to anything students ever say. Worst teacher ever.
Hard to understand. Gives out practice quizzes but most questions aren't on the actual quiz. Makes you feel stupid when asking a question. "Study Guides" for exams are horrible. Ended up dropping grades because students were doing bad on assignments due to lack of explanation. I would take a different teacher if you get the chance, not worth it.
People who don't like don't even try to understand her. She's more of the tough love type but very caring. Very helpful outside of class

She has a thick accent and is not easy to understand. Her test are hard. Some of the stuff she puts on there is not discussed in class or in the text. For example if we have a Quiz on chapter 1, we will have some questions on information from chapter 7. She is very unorganized and doesn't explain concepts very clearly. She is also a hard grader.

A confused teacher. But easy to get an A if you study lecture notes for exams. Quizzes were harder than exams though. But not very clear on what work needs to be done. Make this an option if its your only option
A little hard to understand her with her accent, but everything is pretty self explanatory in the lecture slides. Always had errors in tests and quizzes. Attend lectures, listen to what she says, and study a bit and you'll be fine.
If you ever get the option to take this woman, don't do it! I refer to her as Satan's mistress. She is extremely unhelpful and don't dare ask a question because she'll personally attack you. Getting an A- was a struggle.
I ended up getting a good grade in her class, but not without working my ass off for it. It's a gen ed, but she treats everyone in the class like they are dietetics majors, her lecture style is screaming, and she gets frustrated when you ask for help. Avoid her at all costs if you can.

Doesn't respond to emails. Very unorganized (syllabus had dates on it from the previous semester). Gives different students the same feedback if at all. Doesn't give you any idea of what will be on tests. Grading was all over the place, no reasoning as to why you received the grade you did
Easy A, if you have questions, email. Does take a few days for a response, so don't procrastinate.
I just finished her summer online 8 week Nutr 300 course. It was fast, furious, stressful, frustrating, inconsistent (info/dates/requirements), and I was made to feel stupid when I did asked questions and didn't understand what was expected of me! The online format/dates were inconsistent with the syllabus dates.I worked hard-hoping for an "A"
Probably the worst online class I have ever taken. Issues with Western Online caused myself and a few other students to lose submitted work, and when we emailed the teacher about it she stated we were wrong and didn't submit it correctly. Dates on the syllabus are inconsistent. The online quizzes and tests are worded horribly. Worst class ever.
I only used my textbook because Rita didn't teach to where I understood the material. If you ask a question she won't answer it, and when you answer a question she won't hear you then blame you and tell you that you are stupid. AVOID AT ALL COSTS
Long reading assignments. It's hard to know what to expect on tests/quizzes since there is so much reading involved. She grades fair on discussions and assignments, but not enough time is allotted for tests/quizzes for the content that they cover. Responds to email. Nice person. Tough instructor overall, so you will have to work for your grade!
Online NUTR 300 class. Tests are hard and have very obscure questions. I studied my butt off and pulled a low A. She is flexible and will offer feedback though. Takes some getting used to her "style". Lots of disc boards and tests. Study, you'll do ok. Don't, you'll fail. Whole class failed 1 test! She gave us a re take though so that was cool.
