Ritesh is a Saint. He is very accomodating & more than willing to help his students suceed. His lectures are crystal clear. He even prints out notes for his students so they arent just focused on busily copying down notes. Ritesh is anything But boring, he makes reference to current events and shows informative clips. & hes a very sharp dresser...
He's probably the coolest professor yet. His lectures are easy to follow and tells you what to exactly study for. He's very funny!!! Dresses very well and relates his lectures to current events. He's a very nice teacher, always telling us to stay away from jail. What a nice person huh?
I Had him for Diversity in my first year and man was he a blast! He is crystal clear with everything he teaches which is a bonus! I always look forward to classes he teaches! Already taken 2
One of the best profs. He was very helpful, classes were always fun! He is available to help with assignments. He makes the learning envrioment fun even if the material is boring. I dont think there was a class where we didnt laugh.
One of my favorite criminal justice profs yet! He is hilarious, smart and down to earth. Class is always entertaining, I definitely recommend him! No midterm & take home final!
He is absolutely the best professor I have ever had! I never wanted to miss a class even thought the content is boring- he makes up for it in personality! if I could take every single justice class with him for the rest of my degree I would!
Awesome! Best prof I have ever had. I have had him for several classes and I wish he taught more upper year ones. Easy marker, easy to talk to, down to earth and treats you like a real human being. You can tell he truly loves what he does.
He is an amazing prof and I take his classes every time I get the chance. He is just pure WONDERFUL! I love his attitude and teaching style!
Ritesh is an awesome person but not as great of a professor. If you are looking for an easy grade then take his classes. I did fantastic!. He is hilarious, friendly, and very entertaining! He's a very easy marker and great at engaging the class. But if you want to learn the required content thoroughly, find a different professor. :(
Best prof! He is always helpful when it comes to the assignments. He allows you to send him a draft before the due date to give you feedback. Take advantage of this! As he doesnt always give you feedback on the marked assignments. He is always entertaining which takes away the dullness of some of the material.
LORD of ethics..so he claims. He is a great prof. The class is painful, but he makes it entertaining. If you havent had a class with him you are missing out.
amazing guy, really funny, easy marker, gives great feedback, would pick as prof again
One of the best teachers I've ever had. His lectures are informative and entertaining, so you would not want to miss them. His teaching style engages the class while presenting the material. His papers are a lot of work, but he gives a lot of quality feedback for them. He is approachable both in and outside of lectures. 1010, would take again.
Best teacher I have had in the program so far, I would take nearly any class this man would teach. His story's are hilarious and work being up at 9:30am on a Monday.
Graded on two papers, two tests so make them count! This prof is truly incredible, engaging and passionate about teaching. Taught 6 classes my semester and always invited us to come by and chat or bring in work for review. Made boring material and lectures funny with his stories! Do read the textbook for tests; power points don't cover everything.
Well spoken, intelligent man. He is always willing to help out and his lectures are always interesting. He has a bit of a snarky sense of humor and will often put people on the spot for being late or make crass jokes. I always feel like his grades are fair, if not generous. Great prof.
Ritesh is amazing. Great sense of humour and very good at making boring topics fun. Never a dull moment in his class!
I have had Ritesh for a few classes now and there's not much negative to say. If you don't like participating or group projects then he's probably not the professor for you as he likes to involve the class a lot. Super laid back and friendly. A fair marker and usually tells you what will be on the exams.
He is a former lawyer so always keep your language clear. Even though it's a bit hard to understand him, he does clear it up if you ask him what he said. Absolutely hilarious, and uses his 3 hours very effectively.
His lecture style for all of the classes he teaches are typically the same, he loves to draw from personal experience to tie in the content your learning in lecture. He is a little boring but that is expected with a lecture style class setting. He never uses the full class time & is usually pretty relaxed.
I've had Ritesh for two classes now, best professor I've had to date. Assignments are relatively easy, and his expectations are pretty clear. Does a super good job at engaging the class. Love his class.
Ritesh made a horrid stats class very entertaining and easy.
Made a very difficult subject easy to understand and learn. Loved it.
A very interesting and engaging class. Learned lots about evidence. Really cool lectures.
Greaaaat class. Really cares about students success.
Amazing lectures. Loved how he connects lecture materials to current events and real crime.
Best teacher I've ever had.
Amazing lectures. Great feedback. Go to him. He is always willing to help.
Three hour lectures fly by because he keeps you very engaged by talking about current events and how what you are learning relates to real life cases. An awesome prof!!
Ritesh is cool. I like Ritesh. He is good at teaching only what is relevant.
I dont like that Ritesh's Quant methods class is way easier than the other sections. Everyone seems to get an A in Ritesh's classses.
Excellent prof. Teacher's what student's really need to know rather than teaching things you'll never use.
Best prof ever had!
Very inspiring and makes you think.
Amazing prof. Makes you think in ways you've probably never have and tells you things that will blow your mind. Knows his stuff for sure.
Replies to emails fairly quickly, interesting lectures and very reasonable with his grading. Highly recommend him.
Very helpful and inspirational. He is natural at teaching Ethics I think. Very interesting lectures.
Great professor
Made a very dry class very entertaining and educational. Loved the weekly group work.
Best prof ever. I do my best to take all my classes with him. Very knowledgeable.
Prof. Ritesh is my definition of lawyer goals
Most lectures and group discussions but he makes it very interesting and overall a fun class. He has a lot of experience in this area so it's interesting to be taught by him, shares lots of stories and explains course very well. Super fun guy and love his accent. Take this class
Makes lectures interesting. If you do the reading and go over powerpoints you're set for an A.
Ristesh is definitely the best prof in the program. He's great with lectures and gives great examples for the theories you're learning. Read the book and the powerpoints, you'll most likely to get A's. However, he seem a bit disorganized. I understand because teaching is sorta his part-time job, but it does make a few things confusing.
Ritesh's experience makes him the perfect prof to teach this class. He relates every topic to something that is currently happening in the world and explains things so that it is easily understood. It doesn't hurt that he has an amazing accent either.
I loved Ritesh as a prof and as a person. However, his class is almost too easy to get an A in. I genuinely don't believe that taking a class with Ritesh sets you up well for taking Criminal Justice courses with different profs in the future. Overall however, Ritesh is great and I would take his classes again.
Ritesh is one of the best Professors I have ever had in my life in university. He was very caring when it came to grades and very open to negotiation about your marks if you feel like you deserved a better one. He related the notes to real life situations which kept the class fun. He is an easy marker but only if you deserve it. Would recommend.
Ritesh is very funny and cool but he often reads off lectures and tells stories of himself. Gives you the exam questions before hand, easy marker for assignments.
He's awesome, take every class possible with him.
Professor Ritesh is the best professor I have ever had. He is so relaxed and caring. He does want you to be active in class, however it is not hard because he is so engaging. He is not a hard marker and he goes out of his way for students to do well in his class.
Ritesh is one of the best profs ive had so far, he makes sure that each assignment is clearly laid out and that your grade matches the effort you put in. class attendance is not mandatory but when you do attend his classes you get to learn about current issues in our society in order to relate them to what your learning for a better understanding.
Ritesh is a fantastic prof. He cares a lot about his students and wants everyone to succeed. He makes his lectures interesting by talking about current issues and his own experiences. Take a class with Ritesh if you can, he is a great guy and a great prof.
Ritesh is an amazing prof and really makes an effort to know everyones names. Lectures can be a lot. But take notes in class and pay attention to the slides. You honestly dont need to buy a textbook because everything you need to know is either talked about in class or in the slides.
Ritesh is overall a really good teacher. He makes his lectures interesting and fun. You will have to write 1 major paper, other than that he's easy going. I would recommend taking his class.
Ritesh is one of the best profs I have ever had! He's so nice and easy-going. Often times, he jokes around with his students as if they're his friends. Besides his great personality, he is also very knowledgeable about what he teaches. His tests are pretty easy if you read the textbook, and he's a generous marker! I look up to him
Engaging prof! he is easy to communicate with and is more than willing to answer questions and provide help. He also engages the class in activities so he is not the only one talking the whole class. He also brings in many guest speakers for us to actually know the reality of what it is like to be in the work force within our degrees.
Well Ritesh is truly an amazing person. I put showing up to class as mandatory not because you might fail but because if you do not attend the (Amazing Lectures) then you are missing out on a really fun time. The lectures are full of great jokes and really interesting topics. Ritesh brings a great personality to all his lectures. Truly a great time
Ritesh is by far the best professor and quite honestly the best teacher Ive ever had. Hes incredibly funny and caring and you can tell he genuinely wishes for the success of his students. Incredibly accommodating as well.
This is my second time taking a class with him. One of my favourite professors. Definitely recommend taking his class. There was 1 paper and a midterm/final. Read the textbook and you will do fine in his class.
Ritesh is one of my favourite people! He is super understanding and you can also talk about football with him!!!
Ritesh makes lectures interesting and relates actual events to the course content. He doesn't give as much feedback as I would have thought on an important paper. All around a good professor and cares about his students. Would recommend!
Amazing Prof, knows his content, various experiences in the field, lots of connections, very helpful and caring towards his students, the difficulty of his classes are reasonable. Would always consider taking his classes. Cheers!
Knows his field, applies school concepts to his real experiences. Not boring, very respectful.
You don't even need to listen to his lectures to pass the class, and all his exams are open-book essay style with citation. Don't bother buying the textbook or doing anything for this class. He doesn't put the effort in, so why should you.
Ritesh has done an incredible job of adapting to the online format while still providing a quality learning experience. He puts an exceptional amount of effort to ensure his students succeed. He is a hard working professor who is extremely well respected. Do not hesitate to take a course with Ritesh! He is easily the best prof at Mount Royal.
Ritesh is by the far the best professor I've had in my 3 years at MRU. He is super nice and genuinely cares about his students. He has been the only prof in my years that has cared about mental health above all else. He is super helpful and you can tell he is knowledgeable and applies all concepts to real life scenarios. Take his class if you can!!
Best professor ever. Very approachable, knowledgeable and helpful
Ritesh is a fun and engaging instructor, you'll love the lectures as if you don't come you will miss out. He's very laid back and an easy grader. Easy GPA booster. However, if you want to challenge yourself academic wise, choose another professor. Always great to reach out to even if you aren't taking classes with him.
Cant find the recent course I took with him, but he is the best professor at mru hands down.
Best professor I have ever had so far at MRU. Sincerely cares about his students mental health. Wants the best for his students. Engaging and inspirational. His lectures make me want to attend class. If you can take his class!
Best prof ever!! He is literally the nicest professor you will ever meet. His notes are great and lectures are so interesting. He makes going to class fun and enjoyable. The exams are straight to the point and he prepares you through both the notes and textbook and sets you up to do well. Ive had him for 3 classes now and he is awesome
My favourite professor so far. He is so nice and caring and really cares about his students. Makes the course content as interesting as he can and really listens and cares for his students. Also a fairly easy grader
The best prof and the most caring of all, especially regarding your mental health. States what he wants to have on your paper. Took him this winter 2022 and thought he'll be a tough grader but he is not. Gave clear instructions and only had 2 discussion posts, open-book midterm and final exams, 1 group presentation, and 1 term paper about yourself.
God of the CRJS program.
Ritesh is a great professor overall but this wasn't my favourite class. There were very few assignments and I'm not fully certain what I learned. Don't bother buying the textbook as he doesn't use it. However, his lectures are always fun and there's lots of discussion
Ritesh is one of the best professors you can get in this program, he is very understanding and accommodating. He does the most to make sure everyone is comfortable and understands the content and creates a great energy in his classes where you actually feel excited to participate. He also creates unique projects which are enjoyable and informative.
Truly a role model. Really connects with students from all backgrounds and does his best to make life easier while teaching and explaning at a high level. Always does group assignments so students can get to know one another.
Ritesh is super casual and approachable. Clearly defines what he wants from everybody in their assignments. He promotes interaction between students but it's all fun. Hilarious guy. Definitely opt for his class if you can.
HE IS AWESOME!!!!
The best professor I have ever had in my life. Loved the class.
Ritesh is the best, cares a lot about his student.
Yes, Ritesh doesn't make his students hassle like other profs, but if you want to learn and truly put effort into it, you will learn. He is an easy marker and his exams are most often open book but it doesn't mean you can't learn anything. Y'all are grown ups and can take responsibility for your own education. Awesome prof, will take again 110%
he is very nice
Hes super chill. He gives you exactly whats gonna be on the exams so he is amazing and u learn a lot.
Ritesh is an awesome professor. He truly cares about his students and gives amazing feedback on assignments. His grading is very reasonable. This class included 2 written assignments, a midterm, group presentation and a final exam. He made lectures interesting and you can tell he is very passionate about what he teaches. TAKE HIM IF YOU CAN !!
If you are in Criminal Justice at MRU, do yourself a favour and take a class with Ritesh Narayan!
Ritesh has incredibly engaging lectures and he is always happy to help students. He is a great prof and he wants his students to do well. I would 100% reccomend his classes and im happy he is teaching in Criminal Justice.
honestly was single handed the most kind professor i have encountered. he cares about student learning and success. we all did pretty bad on one exam and he gave us opportunities to boost our mark; i think this alone speaks volumes on his character
I don't know why people like Ritesh so much. He ignored my emails and his lectures are absolutely useless he lectures for 3 hours just to talk about a limited amount of concepts and life stories. When the midterm was extremely difficult and based on the textbook which he never goes over. I recommend skipping his class and just reading the textbook.
no passion for teaching this class, I don't remember learning anything from this class that I'm now applying to my career. $700 scam. He should stick to teaching the intro classes and the other legal studies classes as that's more aligned with his career. No challenge nor logical connection between course concepts and degree program.
Ritesh is easily one of the best profs at MRU. He's an amazing guy and cares about his student's grades and futures. His classes were very easy to want to pay attention to and learn more about. I highly recommend taking a class with him!
Genuinely cares for students and our success. One paper and one group presentation. Easy tests and a lot of feedback on the paper. Presentation is long and nerve racking but was a grade booster for me.
He was nice, but I just wish he had done more for us and given us better feedback.
Ritesh is probably my favourite prof. I think he truly does care about his students and goes out of his way to get to know you and check up on you. He understands things happen and we have a life outside of his class which I really respect. Truly an amazing person and he deserves recognition. Definitely recommend him as a prof.
Doesn't give feedback, seemed AI generated and was essentially identical to everyone else regardless of grade. There is a major group facilitation and a 10-12 page paper and then a midterm and final. Not a bad dude but its obvious he finds favorites in his classes and treats them as such. PowerPoints also kind of didn't make sense sometimes.
He treats his students like favourites. Additionally, PowerPoints occasionally made no sense. Seems to be artificial intelligence (AI) generated, doesn't provide feedback, and is nearly the same as everyone else, regardless of grade. A significant group facilitation, a 10- to 12-page paper, a midterm, and a final are all required.
Graded all the 10-12 page papers in like two days which is really suspicious, because he taught 4 of the same classes and all the feedback was the same. It doesnt help that 90% of students in all four classes got the same grade and feedback. He's playing with people's futures.
He is not punctual and believes that his time is better than yours, booked meeting with him and he would show up late or flat out ignore you. Even if you could hear him behind his closed office door.
He was unfair and grouped everyone into the same boat because. ONE person used AI in one of his classes and I quote he said "I wouldn't be surpised if they couldn't form a sentence without AI" Not all of us do this and actually put time and effort into the classes we're paying 700+ for.
his whole class felt very passive aggressive and you could tell he choose favorites.
Really messy becuase he would drag the entire class behind our back and then post announcements about how he cares about us. honestly just be real.
He genuinely believes that he is better than us because he is a lawyer and has accomplished many things in his live. He basically says this throughout the entire semester in a very passive aggressive way.
For some reason it felt like he was out to get me from the moment I stepped foot into his class. Which is weird because I've gotten nothing less than A's in all my other Criminology classes. He did his best to lower my GPA and succeeded.
Tired of CRJS prof acting like they're better than you because they're adults and flat out bullying children that just got out of high school. Ritesh we're not here to beef with you... we're just here to learn
He's an amazing prof! He's the best in the whole CRJS department he actually cares about his students and makes sure you understand the concepts of the class. I take all my classes with him, and he' s never disappointment. He's vert approachable and actually listens to his students concerns. He wants all his students to succeed. TOTALLY RECOMMEND!!
Solid prof. Cares about your well being. Helps you whenever you need it. Seems intimidating but once you know him he is not.
Ritesh is genuinely the best prof for CRJS. I am so grateful to have had my classes with him and I will continue taking as many courses as I can with him. He makes his lectures super engaging, fun and easy to understand and most importantly, he GENUINELY cares about his students. Best prof ever!
