This was the worst professor I have ever had. When I asked for help outside class, he was unwilling to make times to meet with me and gave me no guidance. He has a pretty thick accent and is difficult to understand. I would recommend to take this class from ANY professor other than him.
He is such a nice professor. He is a little boring and expects a quiet classroom . The tests and quizzes were not difficult and a good grade is not hard, even going 2 out of the 4 days. He will help you if you need it. He will even do the homework problems for you if you ask. He just changes numbers between the practice test and the actual test.
This was one of the worst professors I have ever had. He was impossible to work with, wouldn't take time out of his day to help outside of class and the instruction was very poor. Try and get any other teacher!
He takes orders from Carolyn Smith (check her account, 23 reviews and all negative). Lots and I mean LOTS of HW and the class kept speeding up. He is a good person though and was able to help outside of class.
Do not take this class with this teacher. he sucks! hard to understand. a jerk to some students. would NEVER reccamend him.
Fairly hard...try to get another teacher...has an accent He would rather die than EVER grade on a curve (which this class really needs to be)My class just got an average of a 2.5 on a quiz out of 10 and he just kept saying its not my fault its not my fault...same on a test our class average went down 10% and apparently its just not his fault
Sadiq is the worst professor I have ever had for math in my life! He once said, "All of you pretend to view me as a scantron and nothing else." THEN WHY THE HECK ARE YOU TEACHING! He does not believe in curving but when the class average is a 64% that reflects on the teachers teaching and not the students. The last quiz's average was 2/10.
This guy is a greast professor. He is very helpful outside of class. Also, the tests and quizzes are fair. He states exactly what will and what will not be on each quiz and exam. Although the class isn't curved, it's possible to get a good grade.
he was a great teacher and even though his accent was a little difficult to understand in the beginning i got used to it. I thought that the tests and quizzes were fair and he honestly did want us to succeed in math you just have to put effort into the class. He's not a professor that will just let you skate by you must put forth effort.
Professor Sadiq is one of the best math teachers I have had. His expectations are very clear and teaching method is good. Test and exams are fair. It is a mixure of easy and kinda-hard-but-not-really questions. He does have an accent but it is completely negligible. Overall, a great teacher.
This professor has a horibly thick indian accent.
Sadiq is a quality teacher and the best math teacher I have had. I never learned calculus before this but I was better off taking his class. He only says about two words that are different (derivative and "u" (as in "du over dy"). He is passive and those who rate him poorly simply need to give him respect in class. I saw a lot of disrespect. . .
Strict but fair. He expects his students to be mature and he also expects his students to have the desire to do well. He may come across as overly strict, but he grows on you. Tests aren't too bad.
Not an easy class, but if you go to class and spend enough time to finish and understand the homework it is manageable. I wish he didn't teach so fast, he always said "I have to keep up with the other class". Damn they must have been flying 10000 mph. Not a bad teacher, but if he had more time to explain things it would be a lot better.
This is easily the worst professor I have ever had. It is nearly impossible to understand what he is trying to convey and his tests do not even cover what he teaches. He will teach the basics and then give you a test that barely covers the information. The homework was the only easy thing in this class. Hands down, DO NOT TAKE HIS CLASS!
The worst thing about this Professor is his test preparation. He gives you practice problems that are completely different than the ones you do in the homework. He gives a quiz every week even the week after a test. He is hard to understand. Switch professors and your grade will be higher, guaranteed.
He's not the best and he's not the worst; it all depends on who he is teaching to. He's sometimes unprofessional; he asked me for a parent note to prove a death of a family member and then asked for a perscription to prove I had an eye infection so I could make up a quiz. If I had had a different professor, I would have done way better.
Not very pleased with this guy at all. Took this same class sophomore year in high school, and got an A, and just passed with a C in this class. I felt his expectations were inconsistent, and tests were not always reflective of what we learned in class and in homework.
nice guy but his class sucked! complicates mathematical procedures. practice problems weren't really helpful!added material to test and exams that we never did in class...and i went to every class! take another professor for this class for a better grade!
Nice guy pretty funny, horrible class! Not that hard of a class but the teacher complicates everything not to mention on tests he adds problems and things that we never even covered in class. Avoid at all costs for a better grade!
The WORST proffessor I have ever had. DO NOT take this teacher, the average grade in my class was a 64% and he did not care. Weekly quizzes are extremely hard and so are exams. The questions he teaches in class are different than what he puts on tests. He treats people like they are stupid when they ask questions. TERRIBLE teacher, had to complain.
Charismatic professor. He was a very hard professor. I think he should have graded easier or made the test easier. Class overall did poorly. If you can get another professor
Exhausting class, but it's not really his fault. Course is coordinated by another prof, so many complaints leveled against him are beyond his control. He's a nice person, but seems as stressed by the fast pace as the students. Subject isn't THAT hard, it just goes fast. Lot of homework, weekly quizzes. Again, not really his fault. He does his best.
He is a good guy at heart. Tries his best to be understood by students and to be fair on assignments and tests. The subject is not hard. There is a lot of inofrmation covered. If you go to class regularly and turn in homework, you should do fine.
He is a very good teacher. I went in for help every week and he sat with me and worked through every problem I didnt understand. There is a lot of homework and a quiz every week, but these prepare you for the exams very well. I would definitely recommend this teacher. He is very nice and very knowledgeable about calculus.
Good teacher, he was patient (more patient than the rest of the class) when some people would continually ask questions. Just make sure and ask him if you have any questions, he's a really nice guy, and the crap about 1 A is total bull; our class right now has like 8. He lets you know what your grade is continuously so there's no surprises there.
Amazing professor. I have taken calculus before. I took 171 from Huddelson and he did not explain anything what so ever. Dr. Sadiq was very patient and willing to help whenever you needed it. I did get an A but I did all my homework and didn't have to do that much. He was a very very good teacher. His accent was hard but he wrote everything down.
great teacher. Explains everything very well, and aims to teach all teaching styles. Has kind of a think accent, but I thought the class was very easy to follow, much easier then claculus i took in high school. Great teacher!
Great Professor! Don't expect to get an easy a. You have to earn your grade with him. He is very nice and is always willing to help.
Definitely a hard class, especially if you're not great at math to begin with, but he is not nearly as bad as people say he is. Doing homework every week is an easy way to raise your grade, and he always helps if you go to office hours. Quizzes and tests are tough but study and you'll be fine.
This professor has a genuine concern for his students and wants to see them succeed. I strongly recommend that anyone taking this course try to miss as few classes as possible and pay attention to the homework assignments (they are worth twice as much as the weekly quiz). This professor was extremely well organized, prepared, and helpful.
Over 1/3 of the class got an A- to A. The class is easy as long as you spend time on your homework, there are a lot of problems, but if you understand it you will do fine on quizzes. You cant have a cheat sheet and there are no formulas on the exam but you will do better b/c you have to study. I recommend Sadiq he?s super helpful and a great prof!
He is a great professor!!! His teaching is great and he is so helpful when you go to his office hours. It's a tough class, but if you attend class, do the homework, and go to the office hours, you can pass with a decent grade. even if you've never taken calc before, he explains everything really well. I recommend him to anyone taking calc 140.
Dr. Sadiq, in my opinion,is the best Math Instructor on WSU campus. It was refreshing to have an instructor who took his students' performance seriously and made them work hard for a good grade. Outside the class he was extremely helpful. He taught the course exceedingly well. I thoroughly enjoyed his course and found a new respect for math.
He has been called by some as the worst teacher, all nonsense. He is a brilliant teacher, charismatic and always well dressed. Has a loud foreign accented voice. Tests are challenging but it isn?t difficult to make a good grade providing one puts in enough study time. He is more than willing to help you during office hours. Dr Sadiq simply rocks!!!
He is strict but an excellent teacher. Don't be afraid to visit him in his office for additional help. His grading system for homeworks, tests, and quizzes is fair. He wants students to work hard and succeed. Attend classes regularly, do your homework, prepare for quizzes/tests and you will get a very good grade. I highly recommend him for Math105.
I had Dr. Sadiq for Math 140. He is a "no nonsense", demanding and an outstanding Math teacher. He talks fast with an Indian accent, which may require a little adjustment. He works through multiple problems, instead of a few, so that students understand the concepts andprocedures. This is what separates him from some of other Math teachers I've had
He's extremely hard and I did my homework! After the third week I started going to a math tutor, went to his office for help and asked questions and still ended up with a D+ (69.7%) He won't roundup and he knew how hard I worked.
I don't think the previous rating or comment was accurate or justified. The student who has put those comments is simply lying. Dr. Sadiq bumped up the grades of those students that were right on the borderline of two letter grades. For example, even 69.01% (D+) became a C-.
Attend class. Do homework. Study a little for quizzes. Easy. Don't expect the prof to do the work for you, be responsible, do it yourself and you'll be fine.
Excellent Professor. While teaching, solves many problems related to subject matter and homework and that is extremely helpful. Very knowledgeable and always willing to help during office hours.
Prof. Sadiq is wonderful. His tests, though challenging, are easy if one studies. He actually teaches math instead of flying through the material and not care if you didn't get it or not. His door is always open, even before a test. I would definitely recommend him for students taking Math 105 in the fall semester.
GREAT TEACHER! I learned stuff that was tried by other teachers to explain to me in hours, and he did it in five minutes and made it so easy. Very clear, does everything step by step, best math teacher at WSU. Recommend him for students taking Math 140.
Dr. Sadiq is a very thorough and interesting teacher. He really explains the steps well and is always available for individual help as well. I would highly recommend him to anyone who struggles with math. Study hard and you will make the grade. He is entertaining and has funny jokes too.!
A great math teacher. Always willing to help if you need help with the homework or subject material. I was never great at math, but he made the subject easy to handle. He, however, is indifferent towards "class clowns", so beware. I would highly recommend him to anyone for Math 105.
Professor Sadiq is an awesome teacher and cares for his students who want to learn. He knows his material and does not mind answering questions if you have them. He was very helpful outside the class. Just make a habit of doing your homework. Because if you fall too far behind, it is hard to pick back up.
I had no grasp whatsoever on math as a subject and through his attention to detail I'm finally understanding concepts that have never made sense before. He solves whole lot of problems in the class in order to ensure all the students understand. His door is always open if you need more help. Take him if you can for Math105.
He is a wonderful man and an excellent Math teacher. He is strict but cares about his students and wants to help them in anyway possible so that they succeed. He is just awesome! By the way, he has a great sense of humor when opens up.
Prof. Sadiq is a great math teacher. He is very methodical and always willing to help. Tests and quizzes aren't hard provided one studies for them. One can end up with a fairly high grade as long as one follows the instructions he gives on the first day of the class. Take his class if you want to learn Math and get a good grade in MATH 105.
He may look stern and grumpy but he is a good person at heart. He works hard and wants his students to do the same. I definitely enjoyed taking Math140 with Dr. Sadiq. When the class does well on a test, he shows videos of "Bollywood" musicals to celebrate the occasion and that is quite cool.
I took Dr. Sadiq?s Math140 during the summer session. Irrespective what others say, he is a very student-friendly and a caring professor. He makes you earn your grade. He was helpful and taught the class extremely well.If I am required to take another math course down the road, I will definitely keep him in mind during registration for that course.
This man is obviously a brilliant lecturer, I'll give him that, but he makes you work very hard and puts you through a grind. He has a great disdain for students who are outright disruptive. Pay attention in the class, do your homeworks and study for quizzes and tests, you will definitely end up with an 'A'.
He knows Calculus and what he is talking about. The tests and quizzes require studying. He gives bonus opportunities. He is quite challenging and pushy, but if you do your work and pay attention, the class is not difficult.
Dr. Sadiq a good teacher and makes you work hard for every point. I made an ?A? but I did work for it. He gives enough preparation time for tests.
I couldn't understand a word he was saying.
He does not care about the students. over half the class is failing and he blames the students. He berates us for asking questions. He refuses to take any responsibility about the class failing. He says we don't put in the effort and study. DO NOT TAKE THIS PROFFERSSOR!!!
He is hands down the worst teacher I have ever had. He doesn't care if his class fails, and openly shouts it at the class. He would rather waste our time and money rambling about incomprehnsible equations. He makes you feel stupid if you ask a question. Do not take him, take any, ANY other professor.
Keep up the good work, Prof. Sadiq, and don't let the previous comments get to you. These from those students who miss classes and do not want to work hard and earn their grade. They are always ready to blame other people for their own shortcomings, especially study habits. I worked hard, though I don't like math, I have an 'A'.
I would like to say that I really enjoy having Dr. Sadiq as my math teacher. He explains everything very well and I actually liked learning math. The student who has questioned his English must be out of his mind. Dr. Sadiq has an accent but he definitely speaks grammatically correct English.
doesn't seem accessable and is hard to understand. doesn't do well with clarification of points, doesn't rephrase and seems to get annoyed when someone doesn't understand his explanation
Some of the comments given by some disgruntled students are simply to malign the image of a good teacher. Dr. Sadiq has always been accessible to students as per his office hours. Whenever I needed help, he has helped me. Students who can't make those hours should fix an appointment. A teacher can't be available 8 hours every day of the week.
I have taken a multitude of math classes and have only received A's in the past.Although I know Sadiq tries very hard, I can barely follow half of his lectures and I have the highest grade in my section. I study, attend class, and do my homework and I still can't pull more than a B on most tests. Worst class I've taken here yet. Don't take it!
I just want to thank Prof. Sadiq for all his help during the summer semester. I really benefited from it and am very grateful for all his efforts. It was a great class and I learned a lot!! Strongly recommend him for a Calculus course.
If you really want to learn Math, take his class, you won't regret. A fantastic methodical teacher, who means business and is eager to teach. Simply dislikes disruptive and talkative students. Learned a lot of useful, relevant information. Study for tests and quizzes and come to class EVERY day, or else you'll have a very difficult time passing.
He is a very good teacher and a perfectionist. It is difficult to get an 'A', but not unattainable. He'll tell you what he expects and grades tests and quizzes strictly on that. Tests and quizzes are not difficult, if you prepare. He gives you sufficient preparation time for a test by providing practice problems almost two weeks before a test.
If you are afraid of a little bit of hard work and study time, don't take this class. Mr. Sadiq gives you the tools to succeed and multiple examples, but the rest you have to do yourself. How else do you expect to learn the material? Math is my weakest subject, but I worked my tail off and it paid off. It is far more fulfilling this way.
An awesome professor. He can really teach and entertain you at times. Though he gives 35 or so study problems for every test; he gives you sufficient time to go over them. All problems are related to the tests. The questions are not hard but read the question carefully before answering. Definitely not an easy A; you have to work very hard for it.
Absolutely horrible. Rude, mean and would not listen to comments. Wasn't interested in helping students at all. Most of the class dropped after the first test.
Best math teacher that I have ever had. Does not "teach to a test" as some professors do. Goes over many problems during lectures so that students understand the concepts. I guarantee you that you will have the fattest set of notes. If you really want to learn something about Calculus, I recommend you to take his class.
I hated math in high school, and but Prof. Sadiq explained the subject matter so well that I have started liking math. TAKE HIM, you won't regret it if you're a serious student.
A very good, charismatic and a well-dressed professor. Energetic and works very hard so that students understand the lecture material. Very methodical while solving problems. Extremely helpful during office hours. Everything that is on exam he stresses many times over!! Really an interesting and useful class. Highly recommended.
He is a superb Math teacher, probably the best I've had so far. I like his teaching style. He introduces you to theoretical concepts and then goes over multiple problems related to the concepts. This makes doing the homework a piece of cake. The quizzes force me to revise the lecture material and prepared me better for the tests.
He is very clear with his lectures and is always willing to answer questions. Just keep up with the homework and you won't have any problems. ALWAYS take him!!! Good Luck!!!
I believe that Prof. Sadiq is the best Math teacher at WSU. He truly cares for his students. If you don't gain knowledge in his class you are a fool. He gets put off by noisy and disruptive students who do a great disservice to other students in the class who want to learn.
Overall a good teacher. He takes attendance, and has weekly homework, but they help boost your grade. He is also pretty liberal with adjusting grades; if you are close he will bump you up. I hate math but he is a good teacher and extremely helpful and available for office hours.
Dr. Sadiq is a really, really good teacher. You will learn a ton in his class, but his quizzes are really challenging. He lays out his lectures very well and is always well prepared. Always helpful during office hours. You will be really prepared for your next math class. Guaranteed.
One of the best math profs i've ever had. Does require a bit of hard work, but it's not exhausting. He does a great job explaining things, and is a rather fair grader. HW is collected in packets once a week, so you aren't always turning things in. He comes off a bit stoic at first but he's actually a very nice and friendly guy. HIGHLY recommended.
Worst teacher I have ever had. I asked him to take a quiz on a Monday because I had to leave at the end of the week to be the best man in my brothers wedding and we had a quiz on friday. He said it was my fault and I would have to miss it. The average grade in my MATH 105 class was a 62%! DO NOT TAKE his class if you just need the math credit.
Teaching Math 105 is probably a thankless job, seeing how many students are taking the class merely as a GER requirement and have no interest in math. Dr. Sadiq taught the course exceedingly well. I had not taken a math course for a few years, but the way he taught the course made it easy, enjoyable and I found a new respect for math.
His class at first is intimidating but just do the homework, study for the quizzes and go over the practice problems and attend the classes regularly, and you will sail through. He is a really good and a caring teacher. Highly recommended.
Mr. Sadiq is an amazing teacher. Who keeps his classes honest, educational and entertaining at times. Attendance is mandatory. Makes you work very hard for the 'A'...as it should be.
AWESOME professor. I was kind of scared when I saw the name, thought it would be another prof teaching me that I should be teaching English. But no, this prof is probably my favorite I have had. Gives a lot of extra homework and really cares for the students. If you ever get the chance to get him DO IT!!!
Simply a charismatic teacher from a foreign land with a great personality! Dr. Sadiq rocks and I definitely recommend him. It's an easy class as long as you attend the lectures regularly, do your work homework and prepare for the tests and quizzes.
He is a tough but a well-meaning teacher and an intelligent man. He puts a great deal of planning into each class. Always available during scheduled office hours if you need help with homework problems. I really enjoyed his class.
Prof. Sadiq is a great math teacher. He gives a variety of examples per topic to help you understand. He gave tons of homework and quizzes. He does great reviews for the test. Some other student found him hard to understand, but in my opinion speaks perfect English.
Took him fall semester and struggled to maintain my C-. Ended up dropping him and taking Jacobs this semester. So much easier to understand and practice problems were much like what we saw on the tests. Sadiq seemed to get annoyed when we didn't understand things and blamed the class for poor grades. I personally did better without him.
By far the best professor I have had at WSU. Extremely knowledgeable and explains subject matter in an interesting and relevant way. Also very helpful, especially during office hours. Attendance is mandatory. If you go to class, do the homework, prepare for quizzes and test, and seek help during office hours; you will be golden.
A really great professor! I've NEVER understood Math and after taking Sadiq's class, I finally understood. Go to class, do your homework and STUDY for the quizzes and tests and you'll be just fine.
Dr. Sadiq is a very good teacher and quite helpful but he is not the one for students who are really into math. The class is what I call too easy and boring. I am not a nerd but the class has to be intellectually challenging for me. A good student can read his material of a textbook.
The best professor I have had so far. Posts solutions to quizzes, and tests regularly and that helps. Always keeps student aware about grades they receive and their overall performance. Grading is fair and grade evaluation is transparent at all times. If you work hard there is no reason why anyone should get below a 'B' in this class.
I liked the course material, but he had a tendency to be over critical of students. However, he was an excellent teacher. My difficulties with him arose from personality conflicts ? no talking in the class sermons.
Great teacher!!!. He explains everything really well and holds students accountable for their work. If you go to office hours he is even more personable and will explain anything. Overall an excellent teacher.
He is very helpful to students and wants them to be successful. It isn't an easy class, but he provides lots of opportunities, through bonus questions on tests, to pull up your grade if you are having difficulties. Take his class you won't regret. He is a really good teacher.
I had Dr. Sadiq for the summer course. He is the Best Teacher EVER!!! I have had in any subject. Take any math class you can with him. Highly recommended, you won't regret.
honestly if he didn't take attendance i probably wouldn't go to his class. i find that while he can be entertaining i learn much easier by going thought the book on my own then i do trying to make head or tails of what he is saying in class. He also seems to think that if the class does bad on a test as a whole it is our fault, not his doesn't fly.
Dr. Sadiq helped a really stressful subject for me (math) and made it into something bearable. He had a pretty detailed review session and told us what to go over before the test and that was extremely helpful. In my opinion, he's definitely the best math teacher I've had in school or college. Take his class if you can get in.
GREAT TEACHER! The class is as easy or as hard as you make it. Do your homework and prepare for the quizzes and the tests and you'll do fine. He posts reviews about ten days before every test and is more than happy to help during and after class. Definitely try to take this teacher.
In my opinion, probably the most organized and energetic math teacher I've ever seen. Might have a little difficulty with his Indian accent but one gets used to it in a short time. Does not waste a single minute in the class and makes learning the lecture material very easy by going over multiple problems. Extremely helpful during office hours.
A very enthusiastic, challenging, but a great teacher. Comes to the class ahead of time, returns graded homeworks, quizzes, and tests in a systematic manner. Makes you work hard for the grade. He looks grumpy but is a very good person if you get to know him. He cares about his students and wants them to learn. Take his class, you will learn Math.
Uses clear examples and really helps you to understand the material. He cannot withstand noise in the class. An awesome Math teacher :)
This teacher is literally "down to earth". Listen to what he says from day one. Do the homework, study for tests and quizzes, come to class regularly and you'll make an A. Tests are similar to the study guides questions. Keeps you aware of your grade throughout the semester. Don't take anyone else if you're able to take Sadiq.
A very good teacher who means business. Goes by the problems in the book in an orderly manner and explains them. Always willing to help and answer any questions. Gives test reviews with the problems and formula sheets for the test. For help with homework or lecture material go to his office hours, he is simply amazing!
If this guy can't make you understand precal, you're hopless. Literally ingrains the concepts into your mind in the simplest way possible while still leaving you with your dignity at the end.
The most energetic and best math teacher I've come across. He walks you through the problems one step at a time and makes it seem very easy. Do your homework, study for the quizzes and attend classes regularly. He is extremely helpful during office hours. He has an Indian accent but his English is very good. I loved his class, so get him if you can.
An awesome math teacher. Very good at explaining mathematical concepts. His final exam was a little hard, but I felt I really knew the material. Extremely helpful during office hours. If you want a good explanation of math and want to really understand the material, take Dr. Sadiq for Math105.
A very good math teacher. Extremely helpful and student caring.
Although he can be pretty stern, he is a good math teacher. Some of the tests can be hard, especially the final because its comprehensive. The worst part about the class is that he is pretty hard on attendance and gives a quiz every Friday at the end of class.
Good luck for students who are gonna take him. The best teacher ever ever. Just pay attention to him and you will definitely pass it even if u r dumb. Do the homework every day, study for quizzes and tests and you will be fine. Wish WSU had more professors like him who can teach and not babble in theories which only they understand. Proud of him.
Best professor I?ve had, got an A in the class; easy to understand, cares about students in his own way, and simply amazing. Shows up for class on time and keeps students informed about their grades all the time.
Getting a good grade is only possible if you go to class everyday and do the homework. Having said that, if you do those things and pay attention, it's pretty easy to pull off at least a B, even if you aren't good at math.
He is very strict especially about grading and rules and regulations. Takes off points even for minor errors. But overall, he is a very good teacher and explains difficult topics clearly. Always helped me during office hours. Highly recommended
Excellent professor, teaches the subject very well. Dr. Sadiq explains the topics very clearly and then goes over a whole bunch of problems to consolidate the concepts. This made learning Math very easy for me. Always available for help with difficult homework problems during office hours. Take his class if you can get in.
He cares a lot about every student's learning and makes you do all the homework and gives enough time to do it. Bottom line, he makes you work hard like a dog but in the end you will learn more and end up with a grade higher than you expected. He does not make the test exactly like the study guide as some teachers at WSU do. Great Teacher!!!
Strict but a very good professor. Knows how to teach.
Math has always been a challenging subject for me. With hard work, I earned an "A" in Dr. Sadiq's class. He explained theoretical concepts very clearly and solved many problems during lectures. The quizzes, and practice problems helped me a lot to get ready for tests. His jokes and anecdotes were funny so one never felt bored. Highly recommended.
One of the best Math teachers that I have ever come across. Wish many more teachers at WSU were like him, hardworking and interested in students's success. A born teacher.
