He expects a lot. And if you don't have your journals done, watch out. Just be informed on when stuff is due. Other than that, he is stinckin' hilarious. Overall, I recommend him, but he's pretty hard. You'll learn a lot though.

He expects you to do your share and to get everything done on time, but he is an excellent teacher. You will learn a ton and enjoy the class very much. He is funny and interesting and very willing to help with whatever he can. He becomes a friend, not just a teacher.

Turn in your reading journals and the only time you need to take notes is when he does the review for the final. You might as well write every word he says the day of review. I did that and got an A. Way funny and I would take him again.

i am pretty sure this is one of the most amazing men ever. he reminds me of timone from the lion king and is a little odd looking but wares vests that are amazing beyond all belife. i think he grew up in seatle so he has a grasp of the real world.

This class was excellent. If you do the work the class is not too difficult, just don't get behind. Even still, he can sometimes be forgiving if you forget an assignment. He requires participation, which is a great way to unite the class. One complaint is the difficulty of the final. Even with studying a ton I didn't do too great.

The very first day I walked in and he said, "you must be..." and he got my name right, and he asked me where I was from and then he corrected me because he knew already where I was from! Dude had actually looked at his roll and memorized some of us before we even had our first class. He's a class act--things never went down from there.

He is a great teacher with a great sense of humor. He envolves the class in discussions and ideas. Howerver, his tests were INSANE! The missprep final was 100 scripture mastery references! He makes the class seem fun and spiritual,which is great, but then he gives insane test which bring your grade down and you feel differently about him.

He is a super teacher, really knows the gospel. He gives great lessons and the Spirit is there. He gives way too much work. Had a number of projects, tests and journals during the semester. Far too much work for a 100 level religion class. Dont recommend him if you dont want much homework.

Some say he requires alot, but I didn't think it really was a lot. The things he did require were benficial to me as a person. Don't cram for the memorization. I had a study group-which helped a ton. Last day of class, he practically gives you every question on the exam. It's a good focus. A little bit of work and you get an A & gain knowledge.

Brother Eaton is one of the smartest teachers I have ever taken. He really thinks about questions and gives great answers instead of sidestepping them (as many religionists do, unfortunately). He is very clear and engaging. He has new insights about old scriptures! Caution: he welcomes (read demands) class participation--not for the very shy.

What an amazing teacher! His understanding of the gospel is amazing. He is very organized and very very clear. His assignments were all very pertinent and very very helpful for my mission. He thinks out his class structure very well and it shows. You will work, but it is totally worht it and with the way he structures things, you will want to.

You learn alot in this class and he really makes you dig deep into the scriptures and because of that, you really strengthen your testimony. He is great. I'd take him again any day.

You get what you put into Brother Eaton's class; ironically one of my most challenging classes this semester. Take advantage of office time, one of the greatest secrets. If you want a lighter course load take someone else. If you really want a chance to grow and learn in a different way, give him a shot.

Great teacher! Daily class preparation forms required for each class and it's worth about 15% of your grade. Not an easy grader, but very understanding. Has a great memory and wants us to memorize scriptures. Biweekly study groups are required. You will learn a lot when you do what is required.

He's a great guy that is willing to help you out with anything. It's not an easy A but you learn so much. He's laid back and funny. He always ends his class with his testimony. Great guy. Use his office hours...he's really helpful!!!

LOVED THIS CLASS! He is a wonderful teacher, loves the gospel very much, and is always willing to help. He is very funny, and loves to have fun, but always brings the spirit in. He says at the beginning of class that he requires a lot of work, which is true in some cases, but it's not too bad. I would definately recommend him to anyone!

Awesome. You can tell a good teacher from a mediocre one by how well they prepare for each class, and he puts A LOT of effort into preparing. Brother Eaton is an exemplary teacher, but a little cocky and can be rude to students on some occassions, but I still liked him.

I loved this class! Put in the effort to read and learn the scripture masterys and you'll do awesome. I am not a memorizer, but his tests are multiple choice which helps. You do have to know them by the end though. I felt the spirit a lot and it really made me want to go on a mission!

I took Pakistan Studies from Bro. Eaton and it completely changed my perspective on the Pakistani people and the Middle East in general. He was a fun teacher who had many new insights and really opened my eyes. I truly enjoyed being in his class. His homework load was sometimes a lot for a 2 credit class, but it usually only takes 1 to 1 1/2 hrs.

He is an amazing professor. I can honestly say that my testimony for the Church increased because of him. He brings up great examples in order to help us relate gospel principles to, and makes the scriptures come alive instead of some foreign words. He gives out a ton of assignments, but I didn't feel that any one of them were pointless.

Brother Eaton is really a great teacher. He is tougher than any religion teacher I've had, but I learned so much. He can be kind of intimidating, so be prepared when you come to class. He encourages students to speak up. His use of analogies made a lot of things easy to understand. It was easy to listen up in class because he was so interesting.

Brother Eaton is my favorite teacher yet. He really makes you think and wants you to learn principles, not just the facts. It opened my eyes up to the Middle East and I learned so much from his class. There is maybe an hour of homework per class period, but it is completely worth it.

Bro. Eaton really knows his stuff and he is an excellent teacher. Just know that you will need to do a principle project at the end, and I would tell you to START ON IT THE FIRST DAY OF CLASS or you will not be very happy. Bro. Eaton will try to be there for you if you need his help though.

A great teacher and an interesting class! His work load was a little heavy, but the midterm and final are easy if you do the readings and pay attention. Some days his class was a little dry, and his projects were a tad difficult, but overall he was an inspiring guy. Very appreciative of your work as well! Great class!

I took Pakistan from Brother Eaton and I honestly went in thinking that I wouldnt enjoy the course at all. Im not really interested in international studies and politics, so I didnt think that I would like learning about Pakistan. Brother Eaton does an AMAZING job of relating the topics/subjects to your personal life that keeps you involved.

I chose to do the level of scripture study to replace all the HW and tests and really guys CHOOSE THIS OPTION! It's more reading but saves so much peace of mind. He's also crazy caring and you can tell he has a strong testimony. Amazing teacher and I would take a class from him a million times over. So great!!

Encourages participation in class discussions. Helped me feel more comfortable participating in class. Encouraging: wanting you to do your best. If you do all the little assignments you'll be fine.

I loved taking my religion course from Brother Eaton! He has an incredible knowledge of the gospel and church history which made his lectures awesome. He made you put effort into the class but the assignments were also easy and usually fun to do. I took a lot of knowledge away from this course and I would love to take a class from Bro Eaton again!

Great teacher, inspirational at times. Can be funny and very helpful. Class is a different feel and jumps around everywhere. Lots of busy work. I had more homework and assignments in this class than i did my other 4 classes... combined. I wouldn't take him again solely for the amount of work required. Way to much for a 2 credit religion class.

Something that really stood out to me was that he made sure he knew every single student's name and he would come around before class and just chat with us. That really meant a lot!

Brother Eaton really takes time to hear us out! He loves to ask for our comments and keeps us engaged through the entire class!! He also really cares and provides us with time to ask him questions. Once you do the assigned reading you will pass with an A! Also the quizzes are easy. Just pay attention in class.

Brother Eaton was an awesome professor, I could easily put him in my top 10 favorite teachers of all time. He knows exactly what he is talking about. Very patient and sincerely cares about you having a good grade, but you still have to turn your papers in or course. I would absolutely recommend him as a professor.

I love the way that he tries to include everyone and learn their names. He makes learning the gospel very personal and will answer your questions with references. You write a letter to a friend every week, and reading is due the night before class. Overall if you put in the work you'll get an A. He also allows you to think of alternate assignments.

brother Eaton is awesome! Super nice and such a great teacher. The hw is the same every week so you know what to expect. He doesnt do pop quizzes or anything out of the blue.

Brother Eaton is chill super nice. He makes the effort to learn your name in the beginning of the semester. The workload isn't a lot but he gives a good amount of work so you learn. He loves calling on his students and loves doing group work which gets you out of your comfort zone but if you don't like that I suggest you stray away from him.

He is super helpful if you miss class. He is very open and honest. He says things very upfront. He uses perusal, but does not use the grading system. Brother Eaton uses the Spirit to testify of things. He makes sure to clarify when something is his opinion versus gospel truths. He references the scriptures, talks, and more frequently. Very kind!

He is a spectacular professor! He changed my perspective on the world and was able to teach me methods that helped me in my other classes that I was struggling with a bit. He truly cares about each of his students.

He gives opportunities to make up absences which was really helpful for me. He's really excited and knowledgeable about the New Testament and my knowledge and testimony grew a lot in his class!

He invites the Spirit into every class and he is really great about dealing with hard topics and differing opinions. He helped me grow so much through his classes. Take Missionary Prep from him if you can!

Brother Eaton is an amazing teacher. He really cares about the things he's teaching. He encourages everyone to participate in classroom discussions, so he might call on you to speak if you haven't spoken up yet, so if you don't feel very comfortable sharing your thoughts in front of class, he might not be for you. I loved it though!

Brother Eaton is a really great professor. I really enjoyed his religion class and loved the readings. I gave him a 4/5 because sometimes the classes were a bit boring and he really likes group activities, but he's a great professor and you'll succeed in his class.

If you are preparing to serve a mission, I would highly recommend Bro Eaton. He has a lot of amazing experiences and the content really helps you prepare.

Really nice, respectful, caring teacher. Homework consists of prep assignments before class and reflection at the end of the week. You get out of this course what you put into it. You can miss up to 3 times before it hurts your grade, but he is willing to work with you if you are ill or whatnot.

Brother Eaton is amazing! His New Testament class was my favorite religion class. He is very engaging and has students do a lot of collaborative activities instead of just constantly lecturing, but even his lectures are great. You are required to participate and ask questions, and the reading is pretty long, but it's the Gospels so it slaps.

Brother Eaton was a mission president and is currently a stake president. He is a spiritual giant with a deep knowledge of the gospel. Attendence is definitely important and you'll want to participate or else he'll just randomly call on you. He'll make you roleplay and talk with your group frequently.

Robert Eaton is very smart and super knowledgable with preach my gospel and the scriptures. He is very kind and does his best to understand and help his students. The class is simple with hardly any assignments and only two tests. They are hard but are also the exact same. However he does LOVE role play. Take this class!

Professor Eaton always made us participate in class; the assigned readings were considered, and writing essays about controversial topics was nice. However, what I liked the most was that we used the scriptures constantly.

Could not have asked for a better Mission Prep professor. I felt like he has prepared me for my mission well and he helped me figure out where and how to start with my Gospel related studies. Super caring, we got close. He cares about his students and will accommodate them appropriately. He gives students ample opportunities to succeed in class.

One of the greatest religion professors here at BYU! I will be walking away from this class with a stronger testimony, not just with facts memorized for a test. No tests in this class, just papers, but the papers are easy and worth your time. I wish more religion professors thought like Brother Eaton!
