I really nice guy. Sometimes he'll get off the subject and ramble a lot. Tends to be the nicest to the brown nosers but he's still a great prof.
This guy loves him some Transcendentalism... if you do too, you will be thrilled with his American Lit class... if not... get ready to read nature essays. Not so much open to other views. Very nice guy, though.
Very laid back and passionate about writing. Motivates students effectively. Places emphasis on quality, not quantity/exact form.
Great teacher. He loves to teach and you can tell. He is very friendly and helpful if you need it.
Passionate about teaching students to be engaged. Easy workload if you stay on top of the assignments. A liberal arts mentality, free thinking poet--changed my attitude towards poetry too. In my top 3 for professors--MSU/KVCC/WMU.
Great professor
Rob is awesome. He really helped me to think in different ways. He's a really great guy in and out of the classroom.
Loved this class with him! Easy to talk to in and out of class and an over all good guy. Mr. Haght ROCKS!!!!!! He's a great teacher and loves the subject. Really enjoyed his passion for writing.

Mr. Haight is very unique. He is a good teacher but can get off topic and before you know it class will be over. You have to read ALOT! There is only 1 large paper you have to write (6-8 pages). He is funny and he also teachs yoga ect. Pretty easy but you have to go to class and pay attention.
He is an excellent english professor and meditation instruction.
Really fun class and a great teacher. As long as you show up and put forth some effort, you'll get at least a 3.5. Tends to teach with the idea that you'll take what you want from class and leaves it up to you to challenge yourself if that's what you're after. He's really laid back and you can tell he's been meditating for years!
Class was great. my one complaint would be the number of students that come to class a half hour late or later that he still lets in. This is not far to the students that are on time.
He is a very unique person. At first his jokes were a little strange but as I got use to them I began to actually look forward to them. He is very fair, and helpful. I really enjoyed him as an instructor.
This class is so fun. He is a unique instructor! Makes class fun. Attendance is mandatory (you get points just for showing up!) He makes you laugh and I find myself looking forward to class. I recommend him if you take 111. He makes me wish I was an english major!
Great teacher to have for your first year. Made the class interesting, grading system was fair, but it is recommended that you go everyday, because he has attendance points. I would def. take him again for any class he teaches.
Good teacher, made class easy and fun and inviting. Sometimes he's a bit of a space cadet and you won't really learn much 'new', but he's very open and tries hard to not disrupt creativity.
Very very nice guy. He has an old school sense of humor which makes class fun. All you really need to do to pass is go to class, do the reading (very easy and interesting essays from popular books) and answer the questions with more than one sentence. The papers are easy as long as you be sure to take his grammatical advice on the review.
I have a textbook complex. I see them, and I instantly get sleepy and bored. Thankfully, Mr. Haight does not use textbooks. We read two wonderful books filled with essays. There are lots of opportunity for extra credit and lots of reviewing for papers so it's hard to get less than an A if you listen. Loved this class.
He makes a boring subject like English fun to sit through and enjoy. His grading criteria and expectations for the course is pretty straightforward. As long as you show up every day and put forth the effort, you will get an A.
Taking an English course with Professor Haight is a must! He makes a boring class fun and has a good selection of books we got to read, such as Ted Kooser, Curious Incident of the Dog, and A Streetcar Named Desire.
If you're eager to learn in an English course and willing to work for an A without any stress, Professor Haight is your main man. His class isn't a snooze and keeps you engaged in his lectures. I highly recommend him.
Take all of your Freshman-leveled English courses with Professor Haight! He keeps you engaged with the material that you need to know to pass the course. Plus, doesn't grade assignments harshly, since it's only a matter of your opinion on the readings. Just show up every day, put forth the effort, and you will receive an A!
I've taken both College Writing and Creative Writing with Professor Haight! I won't take any other English course with anybody else! If you're looking to knock your basic English courses out of the way, take them with him! You won't regret it!
He's very lenient on grading and giving good feedback. He even gives you some extra credit opportunities if you missed more than a 2 class periods. He's a must-have to take. Highly recommend.
If you missed a few class sessions, he gives some extra opportunities to help you boost your overall grade. But I would strongly suggest showing up every day and putting forth the effort. You can't slack off and expect to get an A with the blink of an eye.
Professor Haight's grading system is pretty straightforward. Your overall grade is based on the amount of points you've accumulated at the end of the semester. As long as you show up, do the work, and participate, you will get an A.
This is by far one of the easiest classes I've taken at KVCC! Professor Haight makes a boring subject like English fun! Just show up, participate, do the work, and you will get an A!
It's impossible to fail any of Professor Haight's English courses if you show up, participate, and put forth the effort. If you're looking for some easy English courses to take at KVCC, take them with him!
He made Literature easy to understand and learn, as well as got the class engaged in lecture and discussion. I loved his choice of books that we got to read for the semester: Stealing Buddha's Dinner, Curious Incident of the Dog, Ted Kooser, and Streetcar Named Desire. Best English professor ever!
It's impossible to fail the course if you show up, participate, and do the work. Professor Haight is one of the most outgoing, open-minded, and easy professors I've had by far!
Easiest-going professor I've had by far! You overall grade is based on attendance, workshops, midterm portfolio (poems), and final portfolio (short stories). At the end of the semester, he gives you a choice to read your work out loud in front of the entire class as extra credit.
Easiest and fun class I've had at KVCC by far! Your overall grade is based on how much effort you put into revising your chosen pieces for your midterm and final portfolios, attendance, journal entries, and workshops. Very easy going professor! Highly recommend!
Very fun and easy class to take as an elective credit, especially if you plan to transfer to a 4-year college. Professor Haight allows you to express yourself if your work, as well as gives you a choice to read them out loud in front of the whole class as extra credit. If you're looking for some electives, take Creative Writing with him!
Very good instructor!
Rob is an amazing teacher, one of the best I've had through my college career. Yes, his class is easy- if you have a lower level in English, you'll do great and he will help you prep for the future. If you have higher, you can SOAR in his class, he will let you be very creative and experiment with your writing!
Awesome feedback and insight on pieces written and read in class, very lighthearted nature and quite laidback. I highly reccomend Rob to anyone that is going to take an English class
Took him for more than one English class because he is the best. Incredibly helpful and encouraging to students-truly wants them to do well. Great discussions and knows his stuff. Highly recommend him.
Super easy class and Rob is very nice and easy to talk to and get along with.
Dry sometimes, but overall cool guy. Real helpful and knowledgeable. Would gladly take his class again.
He's a fantastic person to talk to, is very knowledgeable. I'd love to take the class again, for sure.
He is fabulous! He knows just how to lead a class discussion and was always helpful if we don't understand anything. I would take him again as a teacher anytime!
Easy. Show up and make an effort. Receive 4.0. Very polite person as well.
Rob is a great teacher. He has the right balance of positive feedback and constructive criticism when reviewing papers. Very fair. He is also prompt in responding to your questions.
By far my favorite teacher so far. You can tell that he truly cares and is passionate about the curriculum, and it makes his students care about it. Haight is a very easy grader, and as long as you listen to the lectures and read the study guides you don't have to worry about your grade.
This class is very easy. Just go to class and do the little papers and projects. He is always willing to help out in any way. I recommend this class.
Mr. Haight is an amazing teacher! I highly recommend that you take this class! The class is not hard as long as you do the work, and try your hardest. Mr. Haight quickly grades your work, and is prompt to answer any questions that you have.
Very Easy Class! If you have to take this class, take it with him. Make sure you're there on the quiz days. Other than that just do the assignments and you should get an A!! Hardly any text book reading required. Like 3-8 pages at a time. Plenty of time to do assignments. Fair teacher , willing to help. if you are not sure about something just ask.
Very helpful. Books used sparingly. Attend class on day of quiz. Use hint notes to study for quiz. Do your assignments and you will receive an A.
Rob is very easy to learn from, lots of examples. Assignments are easy and clear to understand. A fair amount of work, but not an overload. Just don't get behind.
I highly recommend this instructor. Attend class and pay attention and you will not have a hard time. We only read a few stories from the text book, so I wouldn't waste your money; they are all available online. There were a lot of group activities, so if you are shy, beware. Overall, Rob is a very kind, understanding and intelligent Professor.
Rob is a fantastic instructor! Extremely helpful, and keeps class engaging. All of the students I know that have taken his classes have loved him. Put in the work and you should do just fine. Take classes from him.
Easy class. But attend class, he marks takes points away if you miss more than one day. His rules are strict on how he wants his paper. I never got below a 95% on a paper. Very fun and interesting instructor. Can easily have a conversation with him.
He is fair and the class is not difficult if you actually put forth the effort though he is firm on his rules.
He is the most great teacher I had. It was an easy A class. He cares about attendance. Take him if you have a chance.
He's extremely knowledgeable, very laid-back, and more than willing to bend over backwards to help his students. I wish he taught some more advanced courses at KVCC. I would love the opportunity to take another class with him.
Rob was a good teacher, and very easy to work with. I dreaded this class, and I'm very grateful that I had him as my instructor.
Great guy, very helpful, easy to understand!
Great Teacher! I wish I could take another class with him again!
Best English teacher I have ever had. I want him for all of the English classes, which will be a lot because that's what I'm majoring in.
He is very nice and patient, and he gave constructive criticism that actually helped. I highly recommend him!
Very happy with this class. Professor Haight is well organized. Assignments are clear as day, and given to you the second day of class. He really helped me improve my research paper writing skills. Interesting class and interactive! Learned quite a bit. Nice to look at!
Rob does a great job. I learned a lot in this class. Assignments are clearly spelled out and given second day of class. He accepts NO excuses but balances this with extra credit opportunities.
One of the best professor's I've ever had. He's a really nice guy who keeps the class entertaining. Class was actually fun to go to!
His class was fun and we lamented it coming to an end at the end of the semester, having to go back into the real word and all. His grading system is fair, all he asks is that you be present and do your work. If you're in college, you know that's what's expected. To your A, it's really not that hard.
Rob is an awesome professor. He loves to dish it out, but he can take it as well. You're always learning something, even if he's on a tangent. I've learned more from him about English than I did in K-12, and he's just an amazing teacher. Will do practically anything to help a student outside class.
All around cool guy. You cant help but like him. I enjoyed this class a lot!
Knowledgeable teacher who cares about his students. Wants students to try and rewards them for doing so.
Rob is, by far, one of the best teachers at Valley. He knows his stuff and his lectures are so interesting. Very engaging teacher, makes the material way more interesting than it would be otherwise. Whether you love or hate English, take his class! You'll have a great time!
Rob is super laid back. Good lectures, but not strictly from the book. Attendance is important, and if you take good notes and read the quiz questions carefully, you won't have any problems. I learned a lot from his class.
I really enjoyed this class, and I definitely learned a lot. Rob's lectures are great, but sometimes tend to be a little long and a little boring. Make sure you take notes!
Rob is a great guy. He keeps his lectures lively and you are bound to learn more than what you asked for. He understands that you are all college students and tries to relate on our level. By far the best English class I have taken at KVCC so far. His quizzes are easy, and he does cover everything in his lectures.
Best English teacher EVER! He was hilarious and was a great guy! He wasn't too much older than us so he kept the English interesting. Lectures were long, but time flew by cause you were laughing. Tests weren't too bad. You only type a few papers, but overall, he made the class fun. Double thumbs up!
Simply awesome teacher! Cares about writing and his students. Very organized and has a easy to follow course outline that he follows. Lots of writing, but that is to be expected in a higher level writing class. I would recommend him to anyone!
Excellent teacher! He went over your questions in class and really cared about your understanding of the problems. I excelled in his class and ended up with a really good grade. Did an awesome job with reviews for tests and keeps at a steady pace. Great teacher!
Mr. Haight is a great teacher. He makes time for students and really cares. His examples are really helpful and his class is a lot of fun. He gives you all the tools to write well. I would highly recommend him.
Mr. Haight is a very good English teacher and also a very kind and understanding person.
He explains things in such a way that it makes things clearer. Very helpful. You must remember this is a college course, he expects you to be a college student. If you don't do the work, you don't get the grade. I would HIGHLY suggest him if you need to take the class.
A little boring but a really helpful teacher if you need basic a English course.
Great professor and a fun course to take for an elective credit! Highly recommend!
Great professor. His lectures are always intriguing.
Very good instructor, interesting to listen to, one of the best I've had!
A real fine instructor!
He is a great professor! His lectures are interesting and he is very good at applying ideas to current events. He's very fun and his lecture is even more fun! Fairly easy if you show up to class and are active!
The class was extremely well-organized and well structured. The texts he chose were very useful and accessible. Rob always responded to my e-mails promptly, and he is very accommodating. I learned a lot in his class and I highly recommend him. He is also a very fair grader.
The guy is a genius. He is very helpful, super passionate, and all around awesome. I've taken 2 classes with Professor Haight, and I am enrolling for a 3rd.
One of the best professors I have ever had! Professor Haight is kind, helpful, and very passionate about literature.
Always willing to help, go to his office hours or make an apptointment to see him if you are having trouble understanding material.
You have to attend class in order to do well on the tests. Also STUDY! You will not do well if you do not have good notes.
He was super funny and I really enjoyed his class. I enjoyed him much more than the actual class material we covered. The book is pretty much useless because most info comes from lectures.
I didn't use the textbook much, as most of the exams are about lecture material and questions from the homework. Highly recommend.
Howmework is doable and the tests are not difficult. Showing up and putting forth the effort will find everything easy. Enjoy it.
He know his stuff and can teach. I received a BA in the class but only opened the book like 2 times.
Rob knew the material frontwards and backwards. He enjoyed helping students one on one and was generous with his praise of student success. He was willing to share tips not included in the book. I wish Rob would teach higher computer courses as I would take them.
Very cool teacher. Extremely helpful. Easy class, he works with students individually, no reason why you shouldn't get an A.
This is a great class, and I'm glad I was able to take it with Rob. The class was very easy and fun. Highly recommend.
Rob is a very great teacher. As a double major student, he was by far one of the best teachers I have had. Very knowledgeable about the subject and you really determine your grade in his class... A very easy class just need to kinda know.
He was very helpful if you needed any help too. I would take another class from him or tell a friend to.
He is awesome. Good sense of humor, flexible, knowledgeable. Awesome at making a class that is easy but helps you refresh your writing skills. Good guy.
Great teacher. Very funny and made class interesting. I would recommend him for anybody who had to take this course.
I have never had a professor I liked so much. He was so helpful when I didn't understand the material and took a lot of time making sure everyone understood he truly seemed to care that people passed:) The information was at times boring but he did his best to make class enjoyable I strongly recommend taking his classes!
English 110 was by far my favorite course that I took in my first semester. The course is not too difficult and the professor is great. I am even taking him for English 111 just so I know that I have a great professor. If you have the chance, take Rob's class. You will not regret it!
Very understating and a great professor, if you're planning on going into writing, this is the guy you want to have as your teacher. I took about three courses with him and all of his classes are easy and as long as you show up and put forth your honest effort, you shouldn't have an issue acing the class.
Rob is one of the best professors I've had in college and I would take another class. He is super helpful and available during his office hours. You need to read and go to class as he takes attendance. This class was easy, but I definitely learned a lot.
This guy is really smart. Very professional. I strongly advise to take this as a prereq course. The class is easy by nature, so If you aren't interested in the writing, or reading, I wouldn't take it. It is easy, but fun. Rob is the best professor I have had.
He's great, one of my favorite professors at Valley. Very interesting.
Very easy class, but he is also very upfront about this. Makes the material as easy to understand as possible. Exams are pretty straightforward, and his study guides are helpful.
Rob is by far one of my favorite professors I've had at KVCC, and definitely my favorite in creative writing. Go to class, write, and he will teach you how to write better.
Very cool, helpful, and genuinely cares about students succeeding!
Study hard for the tests. He's boring most of the time, but he has his good days.
Just go to class, and when studying for the exams, study the lecture... also, go to the group discussions and type the papers, it's not hard, just a little bit of work is required.
Rob was awesome. He made the class very engaging, helped me out whenever I needed it, and was very knowledgeable on the topic. He's an overall smart guy, but doesn't just put out information. He's on your side.
Rob has a great lecture style; causal and extremely informative. I had his class two days a week then one class with one of his T.A's who grade all papers; one a week. Great class, never used the textbook
Rob knows the material that he teaches very well. He understands that reading and writing isn't for everyone and does his best to make it interesting and simple for students. Weekly papers but they're one page over the lecture that week.
Very knowledgeable. Passionate about course. Just lectures. Tends to ramble. Exams are easy if you use the study guides.
I had his class originally for my major then switched, but stayed in the class because I enjoyed his teaching so much. Great guy, funny, and as long as you show up you can expect a great grade.
I think he is an outstanding professor who is passionate about literature and has us all asking the deeper question, "Why does this matter?" I recommend him!
Interesting class. I enjoyed the texts we read and discussed. Grades are based on a few papers so you have to make sure you do well on all of them. Running an idea by him is no problem. He can be a bit odd sometimes but in a funny way. Knows what he's talking about. One of my harder English classes here so far.
Rob was probably the best professor I had this semester. He was always lively and loved to discuss the ideas given in the novels and short stories and always encouraged participation in class. Students on several occasions laughed out loud at some of his jokes and he was overall a blast. I would definitely take his class again if I could.
Rob thrives on students that participate. So in order to pass his class, you have to do your reading and do all the work. But other than that, he is a great teacher. He helps out when you need it and he is clear and entertaining in his lectures.
An amazing professor, really knows his stuff. I was unable to attend the first half of the summer semester as a returning student, he worked with me so I could attend his office hours instead. He will do anything for a student who tries hard. Hilarious if you like good literature jokes. He loves group discussions. Lots of papers and reading.
His class wasn't particularly easy, you have to do the readings to do well, but I enjoyed the books. His lectures were interesting and funny. He's very helpful, too.
Rob is one of my favorite teachers at KVCC. Obviously it's going to be a lot of reading because these are literature classes! He is very animated and engaged in what you have to say.
This is a tough class with A LOT of reading, but Rob makes it enjoyable! He is really passionate and knowledgable about the reading and always explains things that happen in the books in a way that we all can understand. Very good!
Mildly entertaining.
Overall, I was impressed with this professor. He is very enthusiastic and animated. Therefore, I found his class to be entertaining at times. Overall, Professor Haight is a great guy and is always willing to help students.
Rob is a great prof! He doesn't expect you to teach yourself. He wants you to think deeply about literature and not expect him to feed you insight. Go beyond class discussions in your paper and write without 'filler fluff' to get pg length.
Great professor. Always enthusiastic and willing to help out his students. If you work hard you will be fine. If you have any questions about papers talk to him because he will tell you what you did wrong and where to improve. I highly recommend taking him. He is great at what he does.
He is an amazing professor who gets one thinking in class. I do like his teaching style. He is always very energetic and listens and expands on students ideas. I recommend his class if you're willing to do the work. Amazing professor.
This guy is one of the best profs I've ever had. He is so funny and interesting. He is very polite to students and very interested in what everybody has to say. If you can take his class, I would hands down. I learned so much, not just about the subject, but about life as well. His lectures are thought provoking and interesting. Love the tie.
This man is incredible. He is intelligent, lets you rewrite papers as many times as you want to get the highest grade possible. Lectures are inspiring to say the least. He loves literature and that love is contagious. Funny guy, one of my favorite professors. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!
Rob is one of the kindest and most encouraging professors I have ever encountered. He genuinely wants his students to succeed and provides a clear path to an A. He is accessible outside of class and loves to help students during office hours. He is approachable and insightful. One of the best profs at KVCC.
His lectures are interesting / entertaining and he encourages open class-wide discussion. It's a good idea to get your hands on all of the assigned novels as early as possible. You move through them pretty quickly and the weekly quizzes focus heavily on what's happening in each novel as you read it.
He's a nice teacher and tries to explain things but gets off topic sometimes. Grades somewhat hard on papers but you don't get much homework. You need to participate in class though for a grade
Required participation. Attendance is mandatory and you need in class notes to pass the tests. Good class discussions.
Rob was amazingly helpful at guiding students in this Creative Writing course. I would like to have another English class with him, if I wasn't graduating. He was very willing to meet or chat over email about anything related to the portfolio projects. He really made me, and I think everyone in this class, feel like we could conquer this.
Probably the BEST professor I've taken here at KVCC. Would love to take all my English courses with him, if possible. Amazing man, unique, and clear teaching method, and complete willingness to go out of his way to help students in any way he can, whether it pertains to the specific class or another English class, or simply life. Take him.
I really enjoyed the way he conducted the course. He values student input and has a good sense of humor.
Great professor. Loved the subject material, too. Definitely recommend!
I love his class. He's very intelligent and knows his stuff. He's pretty easygoing, too, and willing to help. I'd definitely take him again.
Great professor, make sure to take him if for this class. Not an easy grader, but you will learn so much. There aren't a lot of grades in the class, so make sure you go to class and do all the readings even if you can get away with out doing it because it will catch up with you later.
Rob Haight is such a cool, down to earth guy. He taught the class in a very interesting way and made everything applicable to the real world. He was extremely approachable and was always helpful. If you ever have the opportunity to take a class with him, do it.
He is one of the nicest, most easygoing professors I have ever had. Encourages students to come to their own conclusions about material, rather than telling them what it means. Excellent teacher.
I loved him. You would be foolish to not take him. Very flexible and nice.
Wonderful! Highly recommend.
He is an amazing professor! All of the texts we read were interesting and he let us students discuss our opinions freely. He is also helpful when it comes to the papers and lets you be creative when it comes to paper topics. I would definitely recommend him!
One of the nicest guys and best professors you could hope to have for a class. The only professor I've met at KVCC with NO ego whatsoever. Always open to student ideas. Allows students to engage each other in discussion about the material without letting the class go in circles or get off track. Terrific prof! Knows and loves what he teaches!
This is the best professor I've ever had!! He takes a difficult subject and makes it both interesting and understandable. Teaches you to read literature in a new way. You come away wanting to read more. Helps you to learn interpretation instead of telling you his views. Very respectful of students. Great guy!
Love this guy. He is an amazing guy who will actually make this class bearable. He provides you with so many options which enables you to write about something you care about. Rob is so helpful and gives you endless amount of pointers to make you write the best papers you can. So far, he's been my favorite prof. Take him if you can.
Rob is AWESOME. You have to be a fairly laid back person to take his class... he tends to swear and what-not. But honestly, the best ENG 110 Prof you can have. He works with you a lot to develop your best papers. No busy work.
He is seriously the best teacher I have ever had. He is very entertaining and helpful. Not to mention he is one fine teacher. He has an amazing personality and will go any length to help you with your papers. I love him to death and HIGHLY recommend him to anyone!!! I honestly don't think that I will ever encounter a teacher better than him.
Awesome professor. I didn't like writing, but he did everything he could to make it as painless as possible.
Rob is by far the coolest professor I had this semester! He's a no-nonsense, tell it how it is kind of guy and will help you with anything. I highly recommend him as a writing professor.
Very nice guy. And very helpful. He's willing to go out of his way to help you on your paper. I would suggest him as a ENG 111 professor.
Rob has been my favorite professor yet and it will be hard to top him. I really enjoyed this class and he helped me become a better writer. He knows a great deal about writing and is very intelligent. I would highly recommend him to anyone taking this course.
Rob was my favorite teacher this semester. He is probably the most knowledgeable source on ANYTHING. He is a big pop culture junkie and will talk to you about mostly anything. He does appreciate provocative writing though, as someone else pointed out. He is by far the best writing teacher I've ever had, and my papers are there to prove it.
He's probably as good as it gets. He understands what it is like to be the student, and really wants to make the experience as easy and fun as it can possibly be. Always very straight forward, and will help you no matter what time of the day (or night) it is via email.
He is very clear with everything. He will flat out tell you how the papers are supposed to be for the portfolio. He is always there for help and hes a really nice guy. I would recommend taking his class.
Awesome professor, very open minded and keeps class interesting.
Great english proff
I would take him for every English class if I could. He's so helpful and he's so passionate about his subject area, which makes going to class worthwhile! TAKE HIM MULTIPLE TIMES!
Rob is probably my favorite professor ever! He's fantastic, class is interesting and interactive, the readings are good. I would tell anyone to take him! And on top of being a good professor he's a great person to talk to, he'll help you with anything, not just that class. He's GREAT!
Before taking this class, I was not a big fan of reading any literature. But now, I actually want to read on my own! Professor Haight makes any literature exciting, and you will be interested, if you have an open mind. Recommended for sure.
A great prof. Very enthusiastic about English! He is so interested in his subject that you will be, too. Makes you think and analyze books (but makes it seem easy) and write better papers. His class totally changed the way I think.
He is the best English professor at Grand Valley. He is very smart, but is able to teach, which seems to be difficult to come by at KVCC. Take him, you will learn a lot and he is always willing to help.
One of the best profs I've ever had in any subject. Funny, passionate, and very fair. He's not interested in trapping students or imposing his own rules; he wants everyone to intelligently grasp the material. Seems like a lot of work at the semester's beginning, but don't freak out.
You need to read everything he assigns. If you do that, you will learn a lot.
You need to follow his directions and you will do great!
I learn to write and love it!
One word, two words: STUDY, AWESOME. He is an inspiring person.
We are always surprised at how fast he returns our papers and homework. It great--you get immediate feedback and LEARN!
He teaches you to learn not just about writing but about yourself and life. You learn to "look inside you." He's great I think.
Best teacher I have ever had. Would take again in a heartbeat.
I love Haight! He is so awkward its great. You have to read books, and write a few papers but they are so easy and he gives you so long it's fine. I've had him twice and would take him again
Rob is a good teacher, passionate and willing to help any way he can. I was disappointed by the selection of material to be read and felt misled that it's a fiction study class, but only three (very long) works are covered. I hated them all. If only there was a wider variety of shorter stuff, the class might have felt worthwhile. Nice guy though...
Great Prof. Open to alternative assignments. Very intelligent, passionate about material, which could very easily have been incredibly boring and difficult to stand. His passion transfers to you whether you want to fight it or not. The best in the English department and the best I've had at KVCC period.
It's been a year or two since I had him, but looking back, he was one of the greatest, most helpful profs I've ever had. I wish everyone had a chance to take him. What an awesome man and awesome prof.
Very nice. Great prof. Really liked him and the class. :)
Great Teacher! You have to read to pass but he goes over any questions you have. I would definitely take more of his classes. So many options to get extra points also.
He returns your work VERY soon. He works a lot. And that making us work, too.
I think he is very clear about what you need to do in class: (1) think, (2) think (3) think. :-) Do ever come not prepared. He encourages you to really analyze the writings and readings. I like his style.
Yes, he needs to teach more here. I really learn from him a lot. He is a GREAT inspiration. I now think I can write so much better.
The negative is he doesn't post grades online until late in the semester. BUT, the positive is that he returned written assignments almost within 24 hours--pretty cool! We joke. He work harder than us student. We recommend Mr. Haight.
I did not like this teacher, if your not a good writer he doesn't like you. He was talking about poor rough drafts and side eyed me so hard, he's super passive-aggressive as well. When grading papers he's super vague and doesn't really tell you what you did wrong or how you can fix it.
Robert Haight is the best English professor at KVCC. He is awesome! He allows students the opportunity to be creative with their writing. He is very laid back and easy to talk to. Would recommend taking any class he teaches. P.S. Love the Cardigans Mr. Haight!
Mr. Haight is my favorite professor at KVCC! Teaches really well and is funny. I've taken one class with him and already signed up for another with him as well. Highly recommend!
Rob is odd, but it makes the class fun and interesting. I'd wait until the syllabus is handed out to get the books, I ended up not needing one. The only down side is, he doesn't use moodle so you have to keep track of your own grade or meet with him to find out. Easy A if you participate and go to class (attendance pts), there's not much homework.
