sometimes he is a little tricky, but i am strong in math and have good grade, If you do the homework and listen in class, easy B
40% students get A on exams, 40% get D or F, 20% get B or C. His exams are not hard. He is nice to most students, favor to help his students. but, he doesn't like students who are always absent or late. he gives HW but students don't need to turn it in.
He is a really nice teacher. ALthough his class can be boring, but he tries to explain everything throughly. He is very lenient on his exam, and he grades very easy. He likes to give partial credits, so you can still get an A on the test even if you get only few problems right.
If you are the type of students who never miss class and always go to class on time then you should take him. To him 1 min late is still late, 1 second late is also late. SO IF YOU ARE NOT that TYPE>> "WARNING" $#%$#@%# DO NOT TAKE HIM, BECAUSE HE WILL TREAT YOU LIKE A "CRIMINAL" AND FAIL YOU
This is &%^$*#) Crap prof i have even seen in my life.. HE gives his own made up quiz which is very hard and not even helpers in hyman hall math lab know those problems. Istead of helping students, he loves to see students Suffer. ONE ADVICE TO YA ALL."DON"T TAKE HIM" Take Stazkow or cynthia. F prof
took this class over in fall and he is the crapiest and the hardest profesor i have seen in past three semesters. let me give u an advise DO NOT TAKE IT IF U WANT TO GET A GOOD GRADE. he will comment u even if u are not taking notes in the class. u can imagine now..................
Rob is just great. Easy A
His class is moderate in difficulty if you could read and learn the curriculum on your own. His lectures go over the subjects but seem to lack something. The homework is not required but you should do it.
Systematic and methodical. No questions are stupid to him. Made me like math again. Thanks!

He can teach, but he's not a cool teacher. He takes of points if for mistakes that most teacher would be okay with like if you don't show a certain step. He gets pissed angry when students are looking tired and bored. It's not our fault that he's boring.
Very poor teacher. Our Pre Calc class started with 30 students. Guess how many wrote the final??? 4. Only 4 people could take his attitude. I was one of them. I stayed and got a 'C'. All the ratings Here are very misleading. Very hard teacher to deal with attitude wise. Don't have your notebook to take notes, Be ready for****. If late 1 min.BAD
I have done all my math classes (101ABC,103&104)I don't know much about Rob's pre-cal, but his 101C is really easy. He is also very clear on the method. I think he is the best teacher in those teachers who I met, Nguyen is the second, Loukianoff is the worst because she knows nothing about teaching.
One of the best teachers I've ever had. He knows the material and knows how to teach it. Do the homework, ask questions and you will do well
Very good teacher. I liked him a lot and he knew his material. He was the best math teacher I had at Ohlone. Very clear lectures.
Do not take this teacher!!!!
DON'T TAKE THIS CLASS!! he's very confusing and his tests were hard. his grading was hard too. there are lotsa proofing and true/false questions on the test. if you're not good in proofing or t/f questions, don't take his class. even if you get how to do calculation stuff, but you can't do the proofing t/f questions, you won't do well in class
Grades hard but the homework is not manditory. Clear when explaining and will answer any questions and tries to always be available for students in need of extra help.
Extremely harsh grading. Answers questions very clearly. Gives take home quizzes that you WILL underestimate. Counts absences/tardies and it affects your grade (severe if chronic, takes points off take home quizzes). Always take notes and The HW SHOULD NOT be optional but it is. Do ALL the hw or you're screwing yourself. He is really mean at times.
Personally, I HATE HIM. Teacherwise, he thinks of his own examples & explains clearly. HEED the previous notes about how he grades. As somewhat of a perfectionist in math, he'll take off more than one point for a missed negative sign IN YOUR WORK even if your answer is correct. Take him if you love math, STAY AWAY if you make minor mistakes!
I had Rob about ten years ago. He is one of the few teachers I remember having at Ohlone. he made Statistics very easy to learn and always had a great sense of humor. Also, he memorized everybody's name on the first day. This always stuck with me.
Oh my god. Never take this teacher. EXTREMELEY difficult grader...and mean.
u can learn stuff in his class but he's mean when grading tests and quizes. Take points off even its not a mistake(maybe doesn't sound right to him). Not an easy teacher but he's really a professional in math.
Explains topics clearly but moves at a very fast pace. Extremely difficult grader - small mistakes are docked half or more points off problem. Do not underestimate his take home tests! Grade is based on four exams. Do not turn in homework but you will need to do them to pass. Very good teacher but not an easy A. Will need to work very hard.
his lecture is very clear and great but he make the test is very hard. And it is very hard to get a "A" in class. You really have to work hard in his class and it is probability to get a "A".
really difficult teacher, hard to get a A or a passing grade, i would not recommend this teacher if your not a devoted math student, really boring class, his speech made me sleepy, this teacher hates it when you come late to class, and if you talk in class, i took 101a with another teacher and i got a B, i got a F in 101b with this teacher
This teacher is hard, but he is willing to help his students learn. If you plan on being lazy through this class, you will NOT get an A (unless you are a genius). Tries to help students by giving them partial credit, but also takes off points for problems that are not really wrong (just done a different way).
I recommend this teacher for those who are Mathematics major and/or Physics and/or Engineering major. "Perfect" for those who like Mathematics, "Very Good" for those who want to learn Mathematics, "Good" for those who want to improve in Mathematics but may not be good for those who don't like Mathematics at all.
If you consider teaching as a measure of his intelligence, he is another Einstein!
he is a good teacher. His lecture is great and clear and his exam is a little bit hard. But i really recommand to take his class.
He's the best math instructor I've seen here. I don't agree some people here who said he's hard. You can bring one-paper notes for the test and do the quizzes at home. But you can't be late or absence.
Organized, detailed with a great care on his lectures.
Great teacher for linear algebra. He really got the information through, but we also had a great textbook, so I guess everything turned out well.
BEST TEACHER EVER. Seriously, he's so clear in his lecture and does a lot of examples that are very similar to the ones on his exams, so it would do well to study those. doesn't collect hw, but if you dont practice here and there, you really get screwed. very helpful and approachable. TAKE HIM!
Rob is a very good teacher that cares for his students. I like his teaching style. HW is not required to be turned in and he gives you take him quizzes. If you follow through with what he teachers then you're guaranteed a good grade.
Best math teacher I've had at Ohlone. Perfectly clear examples and lectures. Tells you exactly what will be on the test and goes through every unclear homework problem. Test problems are the same as his examples and homework problems. If you do your work and pay attention easy A.
Definitely one of the best teachers I have ever had in my whole life. Homework is not required, and quizzes are take-home. He tells you what will be on the test and gives you a sheet to write your own formulas. He does get annoyed if you come late, and he is a bit fast for some people. I didn't think he went too quickly. I'd write more, but I can't
Clear lectures. His notes are important, but that conflicts with the fact that he teaches fast so you're either rushing to copy down his notes, or you aren't taking notes and rather just listening. Doesn't collect HW, I love that. Take home quizzes. Gives you sheet that says whats on the test. You can write notes on this sheet to be used on tests.
This is one of best class I ever had in Ohlone college. His well-prepared notes and examples help me understand materials much better than the textbook. His take-home quiz further enforce my understanding by working the key problems/concepts. He is punctured, patient and very helpful on and off the classroom. I enjoy math much more than ever!
He's knowledgeable, helpful and fairly clear but he lectures VERRRRYYY fast and skips over some complicated details as if they're obvious.
Rob is a really professional and energetic teacher.Even though not an easiest grader ,but the best math teacher by far.If you follow all the material,he'll grade you fairly.
if you WANT to pass the class, i guarantee you will. by taking notes in his class i practically made my own textbook personalized to what he goes over and he helped me through and made me feel like he cared that i was passing. ALTHOUGH THEY ARE OPTIONAL you HAVE to do the homework assignments or all those notes will go in one ear and out the other.
Definitely one of the best professors at Ohlone. If you are serious about learning calculus and doing well, then he's your guy. Just show him that you care and stay consistent. Make your life easier and ask him questions abt whats on the exam and what isn't. He'll give you clear answers.
I took Rob's finite math class and I loved it. I'm not a math guy but I ended up with an A. He grades fairly, giving 4-5 exams with 15 take home quizzes. All other homework is optional, but I highly recommend doing it. He is a great teacher, I highly recommend taking him if you want to learn a lot with a fair teacher.
Superb Teacher. The BEST teacher in ohlone. His lectures are crystal clear and exams are based on the lectures. Take good notes in class and u ll do fine in d class.Math lovers ll love him foooo sure.Take him.Highly RECOMMEDED.
Stay away from this teacher for math 103.I dont know about his calc classes, but this class is the worst class ive had at ohlone.I got an A in every math class at ohlone except this one because he is an extremely hard grader.if you screw up on one test,it ruins your grade for the rest of the semester.he is a good teacher, but it is hard to do well
He's tough, but fair.
Register his class if you will study hard and understand material clearly. He expects us to understand material clearly, so you need study hard to get A. Anyway, i studied a lots, and i love his class
Awesome teacher. It is easy to notice Mr.Smedfjeld has a deep an thorough understanding of his field. Yeah he may be somewhat of a critical grader, but then again the student has to adapts to the teacher not the other way around. I enjoyed his class.
Awesome instructor. He's a total math geek, and understands the subject better than any teacher I've seen. DO THE HOMEWORK! His tests are comparable to it. He answers any questions you have, and doesn't make you feel stupid for asking them. He is very picky about showing work and each step in solving a problem. Not an easy teacher, but very good.
Really hard class. He will take points off for incorrect notation and such for tests. Your grade is based on 4 difficult tests and take home quizzes. Also, he is pretty intimidating. That being said, he is ALWAYS willing to help you. YOU have to take the initiative. You can't be shy and MUST NOT FALL BEHIND ON HOMEWORK. Doing all that = at least C
Brilliant teacher. He has a deep knowledge of math, and he really knows how to teach. Lecures are crystal clear. Everything is very organized in his class. It's not true about him being picky. There is a reason behind every point he deducts, try to analyze your mistake and learn something. Take his class if you are serious about learning math.
Like his lecture, but don't like his grading style. He is very picky at the beginning; make sure u write every single steps in the test. doing hw is a must though it doesn't require to turn in. put time on studying it.
Really hard. His texture is good but his grading is extreme picky. Have to really understand his note otherwise you wont be able to have a good score on his test
good and helpful
Rob is a great professor. He might seem hard at first, but if you get to know him more, he is super nice and care about his students. Very responsible and helpful! You will need to be on time and avoid sit in the back. He gives you GOOD note, you don't need the book that much. Best Math Teacher in Ohlone!
Great professor! MADE EVERYTHING EASY TO UNDERSTAND. EVEN I WAS TOTALLY WRONG, I ALSO GOT SOME CREDITS. I DIDN'T DO WELL IN CALCULUS, BUT STILL ENDED UP WITH A.
Great professor. Very clear, helpful, he grades a little on the hard side, but he makes it very clear what he wants of you. Do the homework, ask questions when needed, I never thought I would like Calculus, but i actually really enjoy it! great professor!
He's a math geek and knows his stuffs, although his exams are hard as hell~ but he gives good lectures and willing to help students with any problems they have. if you are serious about math then you should take him!
He's tough, but fair. He also doesn't like anything that can potentially distract his lectures. I have to say he's one of the best math professor at ohlone with his math knowledge.
very good math professor. highly recommended.
Rob is a very professional math professor and knows all the course materials on the back of his hands. He doesn't collect homework but you should do it for your own good. Take good notes and pay attention in class lecture then you will do fine because the exams are very similar to lectures. PS: we rarely use our textbook in class
Rob is an excellent professor. You will leave his class with a great understanding of calc. His tests aren't all that difficult. You are allowed to use a cheat sheet on the tests and he offers extra points. Attendance is mandatory though,as his tests are heavily based on lecture notes.
he is really nice. he is nice to talk to and good at individual explaining even thou the class material is alittle boring but still he will say wierd stuffs to keep people interest.
Super hard professor. If you are going for an A in 101b in his class you will need to be dedicated. gives hard tests,we have 4 tests total and all of them worth the same amount of points. do not take him if you expect an easy A or if you are taking more then one hard class. but if you are serious about math then he's your guy.
This guy is a great teacher. He is always willing to help you out, he likes to see his students sucess. He is a funny teacher that actually makes math interesting. I would recomend this teacher to anyone that can take him.
WARNING!! do not take his class if you can't deal with strict grading. he will deducts points on even notation mistakes . BUT, rob is the man, he can get u through this class. crystal clear lectures. Everything well organize, and u will know what is going to be on the exam. Questions in the exam are very similar to class lectures and homework.
The best math instructor I have ever taken at ohlone. He makes every single class example clear,no matter when you have trouble understanding,he's always nice to help you! Take him if you want to build a solid foundation in math.
Well this teacher explains very well, but he is very very very picky at details. He wants every answer as detailed as possible and if you missed even a single thing he will take points off. I had to work very hard for Business Calculus, however I ended up with a B.
He is such a good teacher! He is passionate about the subject and even though the class itself is hard, he explains things really clearly. He doesn't hesitate to answer questions and he's super helpful. You definitely need to work hard for a good grade because even though he's a good teacher, you can't just sleep through calculus and expect an A.
BEST MATH PROFESSOR EVER. He's very articulate when it comes to teaching the material, and the exams are based on take-home quizzes and homework. The best part about the exams though? The fact that he gives us a tiny cheat sheet, because he doesn't require memorization.
Professor Smedfjeld is one of the most organized teachers at Ohlone. He always finishes all the material for the semester a week early so that we have time to review. He is an extremely picky grader, which means you have to be very careful. I would highly recommend this teacher.
super clear, super organized, and super helpful. He explained everything clearly. But you have to work hard, do all the hw which is not required but help you understand the material. He will give us a exam sheet ,we can write everything we want.you don't need to memorize the formulas, all you need to do is understand it and use it.
Rob cares a lot about student success. He has office hours and work in math lab and makes time to help you. Make sure to come to class because lectures are clear and concise and will help you understand concepts. Tests are base on the lectures he covers all sections in great detail.
I took 101b with honma and I failed miseriably. I tried very hard but her lectures are useless because her accent and lack of understanding in the material. I'm retaking it with rob and this man make detail so clear and easy. I regreted for not taking him the first time and had to get a W.
What can I say? Best math teacher known to man. Seriously he knows how to teach! Math is easy with rob! He assigns the right amount of homework and they are not require to turn in . He is also crystal clear on lectures and can be extremely funny at times! A+ teacher!!!
Creates his own lectures, makes sure students understand material, and encourages you to ask him for help when you don't. Tests are open note (1/2 sht), doesn't require hw, and no impractical memorization of a billion formulas. Is serious when needs to be, but made learning a required subject of no interest fun for me. Show up and take notes.
Excellent instruction. Although he may seem like a tough grader at times, he does nothing less than his best to make sure you understand the material. We rarely use our textbook in class, but felt I had a superb knowledge of the material by the time the class was over. For being a math profession, he also has the intellegence of an engineer.
I took both cal3 and linear with rob and I had to withdraw from linear due to the fact I fell behind. In all honesty, he's a great calculus professor but some students including myself in his linear section were having trouble with the transition from a computational to theory base math, and most people failed because he jumped right into theorys.
Rob is by far the best Professor I ever met. If you want learn calculus and enjoy the class, TAKE HIM. very knowledgable, skilled in the subject. He really knows what he does. He explains subject related concepts very clearly and in an entertaining way. besides, He tells jokes too. I difinitely recommend him. T
This teacher really knows how to teach. Although he's a strict grader but students will learn how to solve problem in a systematic way ...Take him over any other calculus instructors and you wont regret
He was a fantastic teacher. I finished out the semester with like 95%. I was already awesome with math... but, rob explain the material very well, and he made it seem very easy! The semester literally flew by. Plus... he is SUPER cute! If you get distracted easily by gorgeous dudes, you probably shouldn't take him! lol...
Really good teacher. Extremely helpful. There is no mandatory homework and he basically tells you the test questions.
!!AVOID AT ALL COSTS!! Regardless though, Smedfjeld is a horrible teacher. I've had amazing prof.'s at Ohlone College and he was the worst especially for Mathematics. He moves quickly through the material like were all storing his every word in our photographic memories. I don't care what the circumstance, when 20 kids drop there is a problem lol
do not take rob if you are not GOOD at math in the first class !!! U will never get full credit on take home quiz ! Go through materials with light speed! Embarasse the shi out of u if u dont give100percent attention !! Half of the class dropped !! Please dont take rob...please..for the love of god
Rob is truly a great teacher. Even though his grading might be a little tough..but he gives a lot of partial credits. In class, Rob explains everything well and helps everyone to understand the materials. Rob also hand out a formula sheets where students get to use them on the test. In class, try to participate more then you will get lots of credit
He is very organized and very clear when it comes to his explanations. I'm not good at math, but he made me realized that Math wasn't that bad at all....well..sometimes....and I almost got A on this class, but I messed up the finals so I ended up getting C...Well, getting 30 out 100 in the finals sure is messed up. HWs are not required too! awesome
Extremely organized..he is one of the best math teachers at ohlone college. In compare to other calculus teachers...Rob clearly knows the materials well and is able to explain them well!
Rob is an interesting teacher. He knows math very well and will never hesitate to help you if you fill stuck on a problem. But his class is very hard and you will not pass if you dont study. Its hard to prepar3e for his test because you never know what he will put on it, and he LOVES trig function so make sure your trig knowledge is up to speed.
Rude. Difficult. Helpful, somewhat nice.Irritated easily. Took off points for the note sheet, which I included and did correctly.
Hard to follow. Do homework. Took off points for sheet i placed on test correctly. Picky.
he is super organized, totally knows the material well, and always ready to answer any question from students. He is always start and end on time. tests are always similar to the homework, no tricky problems. He gives freetime in class to go over the hw problems. if u do what he says, uou will get an A easily.
My favorite math professor at Ohlone. He is knowledgeable and helpful. Well organized class. And he is super nice! Pay attention to every step you put on your quiz and exams, he might take points off, but he gives extra 5 points for free.
His lecture is very clear and organized. Test problems are based on lecture examples and homework (which is not required to turn in). And you're allowed to bring a one side note with you during the test. I really enjoyed his class!
Trust me, if you don't know you're Trig, you're done. His expectations are this : Have an A+ in Trig and Pre-Calc and you might get a B+ Tests are absolutely brutal. I got a lower grade on a test I was more confident about than a test I wasn't. Oh and by the way, don't use arrows between steps, use . He takes points off if you don't do that.
Participation is REALLY important part of your grade. He knows how to teach and makes math easy and fun. He always helps to his students in MLC and during his office hours. However, he can be very rude. Can't control his emotions. Responsible. Count chairs in MLC. Likes to give advice, philosophy, and apple devices. I am going to miss this teacher
Don't let the take home quizzes and half page of notes on tests fool you. He is a tough grader. Does not offer extra credit. Shows no leniency. He's good if you're FANTASTIC at math.
NO DOUBT he is my favorite math teacher in Ohlone. He provides 5 extra credits for every exam, and you can use half of a paper as a "cheating sheet". He also gives a clear study guide. BUT if you are not hardworking, not willing to do HW (will not turn in) and not careful with some details, YOU ARE DONE!!!
Great teacher, expects maturity, sets a great tone for the class in the outset that is really conducive to learning. He is helpful in office hours. He doesn't collect the homework, but don't mistake that to mean you can get away with not doing it. The way he explains things is crystal clear.
Hands down best professor I've had. Lectures are incredibly clear, the entire class is organized perfectly, and he spends as much time as is necessary to go over questions about the homework. He grades hard, but if you do the homework and ask questions when you don't understand, you'll do fine.
The professor can lecture all the knowledge clearly. You can also get 5 points extra credits in each test. If you listen to his class serious, you will improve your math quickly.
The best teacher at ohlone. Amazing, take him you won't regret it. It'll be hard, but I would doubt my math ability often then I had a class with Rob as the teacher.
There's no doubt Smedfjeld is a highly skilled mathematician. He knows the subject inside and out; unfortunately this sets his expectations of his students insanely high. His tests are hard and he is a picky grader. He is highly organized, and a good teacher. But if math is not your strong suit, avoid him for your own good.
Read before class otherwise you will get lost. He goes right into examples. He is very organized and I like that however he grades hard. The answer is not complete if you don't get the answer in the most simplest form. You will be docked points for that. So, he is very particular about grading. Uses a lot of trig too. I suck at trig.
Usually, Rob is teaching students very good, but sometimes, he is a little demanding like a boss. He expects my class to all the homework before every exam. He tells us, "Don't worry about the exam yet". and so forth.
I took his class last fall and it was pretty straightforward. He doesn't require you to turn in homework, but by not doing it will be the end of your GPA if you don't. He cracks a few jokes every once in a while too.
If you show up even 1 minute late you're late on quiz day. Has one teaching style, and if you get it, the class is super easy, but if you don't, good luck. Homework not graded, take home quizzes, fairly easy tests, and harsh penalties for simple errors. Most everyone I know recommended take another professor if possible and I agree.
Definitely the pickiest teachers I've ever had. Takes points off for things you shouldn't lose points on (lost 7 points for a small spelling error). Beware, he may seem nice at first, but he gets extremely defensive if you try to call him out on anything. Supposed to be an easy A, but he makes it one of the hardest math class you'll ever take.
The worst teacher that I have met. HARD, RUDE and RIDICULOUS. You MUST use his way to solve the problem, even there are many ways to get the answers. You will lose four point because of a spelling mistake. More than 40 points of theory problems in each exam.(100 points is full) DON'T BE DECEIVED BY HIS DISINGENUOUS.
He just try his best to make you lose the point. His teaching method is not try to lead you study. He just want you to think and write likes what he did on the class.
Rob is a tough grader but does many examples in class and is always available outside of class. He rounds up your practice quiz average especially if you participate at least once a day in class. Gives good feedback on quizzes and tests. The effort you put in really reflects the grade you get back.
If you're on the fence about taking this professor for math, don't. I took calculus in high school ,and it was still way more difficult than expected. To me, it's not worth the risk for anyone. He expects you to be on top of your pre-calc and trig skills from day 1. By far, the worst class I have taken at Ohlone. Majority of the class dropped.
This professor is the worst professor at Ohlone. He is rude and loves to take points off for stupid things. I took bunch of Math classes at Ohlone, and by far this professor was the worst. He will make you hate the subject. Even though I got an A in Calc1, I had to drop his class,101B, with a W. Avoid him if you can, because you will hate it.
Robert is the best math teacher I have ever had. All the people who wrote bad reviews clearly did not put in the effort required. As long as you do the hw, understand the concepts, and review, ur chillin. Lectures are super easy to understand as long as you pay attention. Gonna take him again for 101B.
Teaches very by the book and only likes to explain things one way. If you miss class or don't pay full attention he calls you out in front of the whole class. If you turn in assignments late you get lots of points taken off. Likes to think his way is the best way.
I had Rob for 101A. I really enjoyed his teaching. He explained things well and answers any questions you have. Although I am not great at math and struggled a bit, if you study, do the homework, and get the help if you need it, you'll do alright.
This is the hardest class I have ever taken. I've been a straight A student so far and this is my first B. He's really nice and willing to help but the material is so hard! Take this teacher if you're like a math major, he really knows what he's talking about. Whole grade is based off of take home quizzes and in class tests, final.
Rob is a really great professor. The subject is tough, but as long as you're doing the homework and paying attention in class, you should be fine. He explains things well. He's humorous and cares about his students. Would definitely take another class with Rob again.
Not good at math? Run! Not good at self-study? Run! He is really helpful, BUT! If you want to transfer to the university, trust me, run!
Rob's amazing! His lecture is crystal clear and he will answer your questions in and outside of class. He does not check homework, but if you don't do it, you are screwed cuz test is based on homework. He gives 5 extra points on each test for careless mistakes which is nice (the max possible is still 100 not 105). Take him if urwilling to work hard
Doesn't collect HW besides take-home quizzes. Emphasizes in-class participation. For exams, he lets you use a half-page of notes. He seems to care about giving his students the education they deserve -he's patient, answers questions respectfully & explains well, takes time to go over homework q's. He's not okay with phones in class or late arrivals
If you dont do the math the exact way he wants you to you get no credit. Even if you have valid work and the answer is correct. Pick anyone else
I completely agree with the other comments. He takes off points even if your answer is correct and from the book! The answer has to be exact with his phrasing even if you mean the same thing, or else he will mark it incorrect. He likes to put the students down and say they make stuff up in their answers. Unbelievable!
One word I would use to describe Robs class is Cuck. He is a pretty good professor as far as content knowledge goes, although his exams make you rethink your purpose on this earth. After taking his final, I cried in my bathroom for a solid forty three minutes, then ate two tubs of Ben an Jerrys.
For a professor who had a good rating, that is definitely a lie. The homework is not "technically" due though you should definitely do it on top of extra practice. Lecture is okay but his tests are the worst I have ever had. Heavy weight on tests and homework weight is pretty much non-existent. Expect weekly quizzes to take home, not easy. Avoid!
Pros: *HW is not graded. *Take home quizzes . *Cheat Sheet allowed . Cons: *If you tend to show up late like 3 times, he will be REALLY UPSET You've been warned *Takes points off on tests if you don't do his math way. *Rude to students when he's having a bad day. *HW is NOT GRADED, only tests and quizzes.
Really glad I took 101B w/this prof. The grading was 20% HW/participation and the rest came from exams, so it wasn't easy. He's pretty picky about little mistakes, too. But I wouldn't be doing nearly as well in Phys141 and Math101C if it weren't for Rob. If you work hard and can keep up, he'll give you a strong foundation for your future classes.
Don't join his class. He is so rude to his students and a harsh grader, that 11 people took the final, only 2 people got an A. He will fail you if he doesn't like you, questions students intelligence, and mocks / hurt students, even those trying. He grades in his view, and if you learn or approach the problem differently, you get a 0 on the problem
pretty good at explaining but SUPER TOUGH GRADER!! beware. i will never take him again, i'm rlly good at math and understood everything but still got low scores on tests bc he is really picky about small things. do not take if you really want a high grade, but he teaches pretty well.
here I am after graduating college writing about this A- H-O-L-E , Don't Take His Class he is going to jeopardize your entire academic future.
