Not suitable to be a professor
If you like the army type, thats him! YES SIR General sir!
Stratmesh anyone?
Terrible communications skills, does not respect students, stratmesh is useless!
Needs more training in people skills
Those you can't fo teach. Just useless.
tells how it is, but what is STRATMESH??
Hard to rate a professor that NEVER TEACHES! Still don't know what Stratmesh is
Basketball is a team sport, golf however is an individual sport , don't cheat!
Sarcastic, sarcastic, sarcastic; avid Phantoms fan!
turn your cell phones off people!!
Anyone can read from a freakin text book...
Very, very Sarcastic. Your questions will seem stupid, and he is BRILIANT...hmm
Don't ask him a question, he will make you cry. Otherwise he is a nice guy.
Please give me an A Mr. Wilson, thanks!
Answers please?? Loves to swear!!!
Who else loves Mr. Wilson's Ryerson Business Shirt?
He's rude to students but fair ... so quit sucking up
Doesn’t baby you. I have a full time job in marketing now. He is Brillia
Who saw the fear in his eyes when the students were rating him
Very hard test. Fair teacher. Don't ask stupid questions.
He's a good prof, and it's funny when he makes people look stupid
Stop your crying. He is not that bad. Just work hard in his class.
i know this man out of school and i think he is so nice! he was almost an inlaw
Too bad for you suck-ups, this one doesn't put up with it! Excellent professor!
This guy's monotomous, but his tests aren't that hard, just study the book
Straight forward, Honest, and nice guy underneath, good guy
Thinks hes topdog! Leave the negativity at the farm Bob.
This teacher is awful -- i do not understand where he gets his title from. HE never taught anything, he is rude and very unhelpful. seems to kick you while your down.
His jokes are hillarious because they come at the expense of stupid people. Fair teacher, would take him again
Not bad of a teacher. Could have had more instuctions. Need better companies that are willing to give you information.
People hate him because he doesn't spoon feed. Grow up losers, this guy is what you'll meet in the real world. Be thankful.
hes a crab!
If it wasn't for the attendance mark there would be no reason to go to class. He doesn't teach anything and everything is from the textbook.
One of the best profs at Ryerson, in my opinion. Doesn't treat us like children (even though too many of my classmates insist on acting like children) and tells it like it is, with great references to the 'real world'.
This guy does not teach. Just prepared to do all the readings and understand it on your own. Study hard for the test because even though it is multiple choice it is difficult!..Will do fine as long as you understand everything and study!
Decent prof, he is not as mean as he tries to be. He's actually a pretty nice guy..although most people wouldn't realize it. Course isn't difficult either as long as you have a good group.
He is the best professor at Ryerson. Bar none. Straight up teaching style, no bull droppings. I wish I had him for all my marketing courses.
seems like a tough prof, but isn't...if u ask stupid questions he'll let u know about it...if u need any help he's there....doesnt really teach much from the textbook, u do the readings yourself and he tells u about the 'real world'...overall great prof
good prof, straight, direct, be prepared to take some abuse initially, but his classes are the best way to get experience if u dont have any, and looking back, his classes were the most memorable and beneficial
he takes attendence very seriously, too seriously. its like your in high school. most of the time his lectures are boring. you never get anything out of it. you have to just read the text. he does bring in special guests from the real world.
What am i learning from this course, how to read a text book? The prof is usless. The only reason to go to class is to get an atendance mark.
He's a very intelligent man. Gives insight about the world of marketing; doesn't sugar-coat it - or his methods of teaching, which by 4th year we should fully be prepared for. Get ready for the real world! Thankfully, Prof. Wilson prepares us!
U'D BETTER HAVE A SENSE OF HUMOR IF YOURE TAKING A CLASS WITH HIM. good guy, intelligent, very informative material presentation, interesting projects and questions. but be prepared for a low c cuz u learn from him but the price to pay is your mark. he has an mba school teaching method.
Do you want to learn??? This is the prof. for you. You need to READ your textbook for the tests, but showing up to class is like be trained by your marketing manager... REALISTIC and SERIOUS. If you plan on clowning around ..get OUT NOW!!! Amazing guy!!!
Rob Wilson is a very knowledgable and humourous professor. He is very experienced in his field and knows his stuff very well. I would recommend this guy to anybody taking MKT702 or MKT802.
Clear, very approachable, and thankfully doesn't put up with the usual flow of dumb questions (you know the ones)

Scared the crap out of me in the beginning but he's a good guy. He won't put up with crap during his lectures so expect him to have an attitude about that. If you go and see him in his office he's very helpful and wants to see you succeed. I'll take another class with him.
Has a passion for marketing and making you look like a retard.
this guy is the MAN. want it straight, ask Mr. Wilson. Stupid questions get stupid answers.. hilarious, stupid answers. smarten up or he will torch you. Best prof i've ever had, real life expereince is what i pay for and it's what he delievers A++ i wish i had this kidn of brilliance in my household!

work hard and don't take his attitude too seriously. He rewards you if you put in the effort.
Good prof, available for clarification of any questions you may have. Tests based on the text book. Groups of 8 for final project a bit hectic.
Your book is your bible. 2 mid-terms, both around 30%. Lectures/tutorials = waste of time, but must attend for attendance marks (10% of final mark). Study the text carefully (re-read chapters - memorize!) because test questions are based on direct sentences, examples from text. Overall, not too bad; one word of warning: pick groups wisely.
His lectures are worthless & not in tests. Tests are pure testbank questions and retarded. Attendance is retarded too since you never see the sheet passed around even if you attended every class, WTF? Final project is HUGE and dropped on you with only 2 weeks to do it at the end. This guy doesn't know how to schedule. Awful.
Hard to describe this guy. All i can say is that i hated his class. He is arrogant and questions students all the time. The class is useless, its a repetition of other marketing courses. Too bad its mandatory. If you have a choice, dont take him.
Very intimdating guy. Looks nice, he is no Mr. Wilson...but he expects alot. Kinda makes you reconsider raising your arm to question and in tests he brings like 10 people to keep an eye out for people cheating. If you think about that, that Ratio is 4:1 :| Yikes!!!! He made me sweat, but i dunno... id take him again!
tests are hard since you need to memorize everything from the book. final project is tough since you only have 2 weeks to get them done and the company is marking it. the prof is very intelligent, i learn alot from his tutorial (1 hour class) but not at all in the 2 hour lecture
Nice guy who knows his stuff, but he's very sarcastic. He helps you a lot in class, but not so much outside of class. After he marks your work don't even try asking him questions because he won't talk to you.
He can be seem very intimidating and scary but he's actually not that bad. If you do your work you can still get an A-. Just pay attention to his instructions and don't ask stupid questions to piss him off. Things get really ugly if you do.
Absolutely fantastic Prof. My favourite during my time at Ryerson. No nonsense, no BS approach works great for students like myself. If you're dumb and you ask dumb questions, you likely won't like this professor.
I had Rob as an instructor back in 90 & 91. Yes he is hard. And he will challenge you. But if you are smart you will put yourself out there because that's the real world. Best prof i had at Ryerson or my MBA at York. Made it to VP in the US by listening to his feedback especially what was tough.
This guy is a great prof. Doesn't matter what people say. Go to class, listen to what he says, don't ask dumb questions and follow the outline HE GIVES YOU to a tee and you'll be guaranteed a good mark. Anyone that finds this guy to be 'too mean' or unapproachable needs a major wake-up call.
he's a smart guy, but you wont learn anything. Buy the textbook and use a blow-up doll to get your partisipation marks
proudly displays ignorance(no effort to learn names)and political bias(openly tells lecture hall who NOT to vote for)Adds value with smart examples. Not a great prof;multi-choice test q's are not strghtfwrd, motivates discussions w/ instigation - which would work except his ego is so large it blinds him from seeing when stdnts are actually correct
CONS: Rude, does not even touch the textbook, expects you to be on time when he's always late, doesn't use blackboard at all, uses overhead transparencies from who knows when. PROS: ends class early. TIP: Always show up to class for attendance marks.
He's hard, mean and he doesn't want to listen to his students. He always ask questions that he doesnt expect people to know the anwser just to make fun of his students. Only prof that teaches the course.
He will seem arrogant and full of himself, but he's a smart guy. Some of his examples are dated, he doesn't use any hint of technology (overheads and no blackboard), and is a bit hypocritical with punctuality. Just show up, follow HIS outlines for test prep/projects, read the text and keep your mouth shut. You'll do fine. P.S. 1-on-1 he's a lamb!
Aside from being rude, he did not give our class an outline for the final project, he basically said to do whatever, and we had no idea what we were doing. ALSO he put other chapters on the test which werent supposed to be on it. OH and on the course outline said the project was due one date and made it due the week before. AVOID IF POSSIBLE!
Amazing professor. He may not seem nice at first but really he knows EXACTLY what he is talking about. Follow his instructions word by word and no doubt you will get a good grade.
The most interesting and exciting course in the MKT program, but the professor doesn't do it justice. He might once have been good but he's tired of the job and sick of students. Avoids contact, gives confusing/unhelpful/aggressive feedback, but surprisingly marks fair. Will try your patience but you'll get a lot out of the course overall.
Very old-school the way he teaches. Overheads are quite common (Yes....Overheads). Doesn't touch technology which makes it ironic when he talks about social media and how business is shifting online. Very blunt and refers any questions to the course outline. Not very approachable. Mid-Terms are pure test bank.
Awful professor. Rude, inconsistent, attendance taken in 8 am lectures... He's also one of the highest paid professors in the department and still refuses to use the internet. Really funny that his lectures include talking about new technologies when he's clearly stuck in the 20th century. Become BFFs with your textbook.
I am pretty sure he farms, he must live on a farm. He only has 8AM classes. It's crazy. He is abrasive. Sarcasm, is too much in expense of students humiliation.
Fairly easy class. He's only rude and sarcastic if you ask stupid questions and don't do what is clearly asked.
Attendance is big with him, nothing is posted on Blackboard, and 1 hour breakouts are "Read your answer to this weeks question in front of the class". Sometimes he knows what he's talking about, other times he goes on about dated or flat out wrong ways to approach marketing and is too stubborn and old school to accept any other answer. AVOID!
This is probably one of the worst professors I've ever had the displeasure of learning from. He's the only one who teaches 2 classes in 4th year and you have no choice but to stick it out with him. Attendance counts, tests are easy and have nothing to do with what he teaches, use the textbooks and pray for the patience to deal with him.
The nicest I can say about this guy is he is a condescending professor who is grumpy 247 and has a stick up his rear, easy tests that are straight test bank but over all just a pain to work with, he will test your patience to no end. That is all
He made my final year at Ryerson a pleasure! I have a great deal of respect for him. He has a no nonsence approach to teaching and really did a great job preparing us for the real world. He may seem unapproachable and intimidating but he's actually the nicest guy. His effort should not go unnoticed and he truly wants his students to succeed.
Rob has very dry humour and expects you to show up to class (He marks you on whether you showed up). It's a boring class and many people tend not to show up, go to the 1HR lecture since your marks will rely on it. He's not very approachable nor does he encourage students to ask questions in class. Overall, he's not as bad as some made him out to be
Professor Wilson emphasizes participation with your group and that is essential in MKT802. He doesn't post anything online so it's crucial to attend class to pick up all of the hand outs he provides. He can be somewhat confusing at times in class with expectations but if you ask for clarification he provides straight answers. Overall a good prof.
Just use the textbook to study. Lectures are a waste of time. But lets you skip your 1 hour lecture.
Professor does not care about students, talks down to people, is unclear and unavailable for help. Will never take this professor again.
This professor is very rude and disrespectful to students. He uses unnecessary scare-tactics to attempt to motivate students. He is unapproachable, but this course is a required class and so many students are stuck with him. Try to avoid this professor! The group project is the only thing you do all semester - hope you get a good group.
An important marketing class but the prof is not the best. He can be very grumpy and uses unnecessary scare tactics to motivate students. You need to show up to class to meet up with your group. The project can be challenging depending on your company, but you can do well. Overall a pain to work with.
Easy class, but the prof wasn't the best. He's an intelligent prof but does not teach a lot. Read the textbook for the tests and show up to class for attendance marks.
He's a grumpy dude, who doesn't seem to have much of an interest in teaching. He straight up tells you that what he teaches in class WILL NOT BE TESTED. But, you have to go to class for attendance marks and to meet with your group. The 2 tests are pure textbook info, no final exam. Group project is easy. Weekly group participation questions, easy
