Dr. Agne expects a lot. There is lots of reading to do. The class lectures seem to jump around a little bit and in my opinion do not really apply knowledge from the book. To do well on his tests, you must know the book as if you wrote it.....
HARD class, but a nice guy. Will help you as much as he can, but the material sucks! Material does not really apply and his test was rather difficult. All in all, the worst class of the trilogy, but suck it up; it is required!
Studied 4 days for test 2; Lots of the material on the test was stuff I had not seen in my studying of the book or his weak notes. He asks his questions in a very complex manner. The 2 days that the GTA lectured, I actually learned material easily. Agne makes it too complex! Hardest in the trilog
good teach-interesting-nice guy test material HARD
Yes, the material is hard, but he makes it harder than it has to be. Aside from that, he gets off track really easily. I don't mind learning about the topic at hand, but he goes off on some tanget and loses my focus.
I must agree with the rest of the folks here. The only time I understood anything in the class was when Jonathan taught! They should consider making him the teacher for this class...at least he seems to have a clue as to what is going on!
Started off thinking he'd be a nice guy...but VERY tempermental. expects people to copy notes at super speed and gets angry when we don't. first test i did very well on, 2nd, totally bombed. very hard class. needs to re-assess teaching methods
I had an 89.7 in the class and he wouldn't bump me, instead he wrote me a really rude email. He is a jerk and is not helpful. He makes fun of everyone in class
Try to avoid Dr.Agne and take this class with another professor if possible. Not only will he confuse you with his pretentious language and attitude, he'll be of little help when you need it. If you are in this class you'll quickly see he is a horrible speaker and awful @ getting his point across.
WOW- the last person hit it dead on. He is a jerk, and uses very confusing language. Although he seems cool at first, dont be fooled..He has mood swings like an old woman! Not to mention, his tests are SOOOOO HARD. Study your butt off for his class, because he's the only one teaching it as of now
This class is super hard not because the material is difficult but because agne just is a very poor teacher. i feel like if i had another teacher then i would have done a lot better. i went to agne's office a lot and its not that he wanted to help, but its just that he didnt know how tho help.
This was one of the hardest classes i have ever had in my life, but at the same time the bost rewarding class once i got an A! It takes so much time but dr. agne is an incredible teacher and he will help you every step of the way! Talk to him, it helps so much, type your notes after class, you will
dr. agne, is awful. He states he does not take attendance, yet he gets upset when people do not show up. If your cell phone goes off it is 10 points off of your final grade. He hates teaching, especially here at Auburn. He is impossible and your answers can never be right.
Completely HORRIBLE!!! You can show up everyday and study all the time and still not do well. He makes this class soo difficult, not because the information is hard to comprehend, but rather his questions are irrelevant to what he discusses. No matter what you think, its wrong.Avoid him if possible!
Agne is an absolute nightmare! He is one of the rudest professors I have ever had. His mood swings are unpredictable and he stutters when he is lecturing making it impossible to follow what he is talking about. His class was terrible only because of how he taught and behaved.
Class is so hard. The material would not be that bad if he did not confuse you so much with his own thoughts. WORST class I have ever taken. Nothing makes sense in this class.
The rudest person I have ever met. He'll make you feel like an idiot if you try to answer a question, so I just wouldn't participate. He's always right, so you might as well not argue with him. Don't take his class!!
I will admit I b*tched about this class and Agne all semester. It is extremely difficult, however it is part of the impossible trilogy that makes this program stand out from other universities. He is a brilliant man, but has a hard time getting his thoughts out. Just get through it, it'll be ok!
Hes a sad angry little man. He hates his life and is determined to make you hate yours. Whoever said he was helpful is full of it. He cant stay on topic and never makes clear points. Most of the time you dont know what hes talking about, neither does he, STILL he expects you to know it. GET OUT!!!!!
I had to take this class because it was a part of the PR trilogy. It was an impossible class with an impossible teacher. I mean should a person who graduated with a degree in Engineering be able to teach a Comm theory class? I think not!!!
definitely one of the harest classes i've ever taken, but i will give agne this; HE TRULY CARES ABOUT HIS STUDENTS.They just need to let him know they care. i can't believe people consider him a jerk,he truly is a nice guy. I got a D and still think he's a nice guy.
I love this class and the teacher are all nice holla. Almost all the teachers are nice but this one is the nicest.
avoid this man.

This man is an embarrassment to the university. Horrid, horrid little man with a persecution complex a mile wide. Avoid upon risk of academic death.
His exams are the most unclear and unfairly written of any that I have taken in college. I think he thrives off his students misery and bad grades.
he is a wonderful teacher, and is the best communications professor at auburn. he taught me more than anyone i have ever had. he is absolutley brilliant!! take his class if you want to be challenged and learn new things
Evil evil man. There is virtually no way to avoid this class. It is miserable, he cannot explain anything at all. Try taking it in the summers if Dr. Linder is teaching. She is much much better! Anyway, yeah, Agne sucks. He is terrible at doing his job. He should have been fired a year ago.
The WORST professor I have had in college. His tests are the most confusing and unfairly written that I have ever taken. After all the complaints that I know he has had on him he should be fired by now. Do your part and ad a complaint on file with the university on him
Has no business teaching. Terrible professor, hates his students. He must be a lonely man.
His class is very very hard- he is extremely wordy on his tests and with everything, which make them so so hard! You really have to bust it just to get a C in the class. If you go and talk 'shop' with him, he is always willing- nice guy but wont bump a grade- dont even bother to ask!
tests are HARD!! you gotta not only memorize the material but know it enough to make your own (his own) assumptions about the material. DO THE HW ITS EASY! its a fun class but tests days and when you look at your final grade it sucks.
blahh...i made a d
I thought he was terrific. Very interesting. Kept me on my toes. Speak up and let him know you. He will eventually remember your name and if you joke around, he will like you. It's a theory class and therefore has theory tests. It's application. It's weed-out. Not supposed to be easy. I loved it.
He was very scary as a comm 3500 teacher, but he is so awesome in a small class setting. I highly recomend taking him for 4800
At first i didnt understand why i was advised to stay away from this class. but now i know. his tests and quizes are impossible, i think he gets a kick out of it. discussion questions are due daily, but he only takes up 5 the entire year. ive never worked so hard for a c. id advise steering clear
Agne may have other talents, but teaching is not one of them. He is a terrible public speaker, often stuttering. He can't remember what he just said.He is unable to explain things clearly and the tests feel like he is playing mind games with you for his enjoyment. He seems to have anger control issues, which adds to the unpleasantness of his class.
He is not that bad. You really have to study and bust your butt, but hey it is college and this is a theory class! He is funny and really tries hard. I got a B on the first test and then a high C on the second and barely studied. The final is a KILLER though and brought me down to a C. I am taking him again in the fall.
I should have listened to the rumors. Yes, he is that bad!!! It is a full time job to make a C. Take it in the summer with someone else!!!!!!!!
It's clear this individual was picked on as a child, and his moronic strategies of control within the classroom reflect it. Although he's the only one teaching the class put it off b/c I'm CERTAIN he will not receive tenure. Amidst his unpreparedness and need for reassurance in his notes to settle his insecurity, I recommend not taking the class.
So its another class your gonna have to take for the triology, my vote.. this is the hardest. I made a C, but I have NEVER worked so hard for something in my whole life. HINT: GO TO CLASS, make sure you always do the discussion questions, be prepared for pop quizzes, and try to get to know him, atleast he will know you are trying!
a man who truly believes that he is the smartest thing walking upright. dollars to donuts.
yes this is a hard class, the material is very hard. I got a C and worked really hard for it. Most people complaining didnt go to class and probably never went to his office, If you get to know Agne he is helpful and will re teach you the material and go out of his way to help. Hard class but if you go and work hard you will do fine.
HARD CLASS - EVEN HARDER TEACHER! ALL I HAVE TO SAY.
Just dont take him....He is a helpful man if you go to him..... i had to work my butt of for this class...just to fail it... it was horrible.
WORST CLASS EVER! Be prepared to work REALLY hard. Go to class everyday, read the chapters and do the discussion questions. Plus be prepared for pop quizzes. His tests are ridiculously hard and the final is comprehensive. You have to know the meticulous details for all the theories. it's miserable.
Yes, you do have to work really hard.He doesn't really help you re-learn the info if you go to his office. And whoever gave him a smiley face is crazy.Getting 'C' in his class is like having an A in another class.you have to take it though. It sucks!Just do everything imaginable for the class, and you might get a C.The homework is just busy work too!
Yes, Agne is tough. Go to class everyday and take good notes. Study a week before each exam and be able to apply all of the concepts. He often uses examples in class, and those examples show up on the tests. If you put the work in, it's really not that bad. Get to know him too.
You mean you have to study..? In college? ... I'll be damned. Agne's the man, do what you're here to do and get over it, cause the class isn't that bad. Not saying it's absolutely easy, but if you just study the chapters and make sure you can apply them, then it's no problem.
He was hard but this is college and your suppose to study. interesting class though.
Great guy and great teacher, but hard. Go to class, take notes, and pay attention. The class is interesting, but it is still hard
Really nice guy most of the time. Explains the material well. Read the book and go to class! The only bad thing is his tests are pretty hard. There are a lot of application questions that you can't really study for. Overall, not a bad class if you keep up with it.
If you show Agne that you care, and you go to his office, he will do all he can to help. This is the hardest class I've taken in three years. Go to class no matter what. Classes are always interesting. Agne has a great sense of humor. Be able to apply the theories to situations, it'll help come test time.
Dr. Agne is HARD, however this class is what gives our majors credibility...nice guy, difficult tests.
He explains the material very well, but when it comes test time, your screwed. The tests are ridiculously hard.I went to his office for help and he said that I knew the info, but I bombed the test!! You have to take him, but BE PREPARED
This is the hardest class in the COMM department! He designs it to be challenging. Lectures can be difficult to follow and if you get behing on a theory it will be hard to understand the others so keep up! The tests are ridiculous, you could study your ass off and hope to pass. If you usually get A's hope for B/C and be happy if you get it!
Dr. Agne is a great teacher. He is clear and gives good notes. His test are hard, but they are supposed to be. There are a lot of application questions. This class is what makes the trilogy hard. If you are not good at conceptual thinking then you will struggle. Go to his office hours; he will help! Prepare to study A TON!
Dr. Agne is the best teacher in the COMM. His notes are perfectly clear and his lectures are very interesting. If you listen in class and read the book, you can definitely make an A!! He is such a funny guy and really knows his stuff. Don't let people scare you, it's not that bad or hard and at least it's an interesting part of the trilogy!
Dr. Agne is an amazing guy. He is always willing to help if you have any questions. Definitely go to his office and just talk to him about the material. It helps a lot. READ THE TEXTBOOK AND GO TO CLASS! There are things on his tests that he doesn't necessarily say in class. Be sure to not only know concepts, but how they relate to each other.
This class is BY FAR the most difficult class I have taken at AU, however, it is possible to make it out alive! Be prepared to study like you've never studied before. GO TO CLASS!! It will help a lot when it comes to applying the theories. Keep up with your notes and study through out the semester - don't leave it all until a week beofre the test.
Cool guy...but he doesnt grade attendence and that can actually help you. Only two grades in class..medterm and final. If your on the borderline he will NOT bump your grade no matter what! Text book is necessary and studing way before the test is very necessary
He is an awful teacher. He is extremely unhelpful... he picks favorites and doesn't care about his students. He is the worst teacher in my career as a student. Even if you see him for help he still does nothing. If you can avoid him I WOULD. He doesn't care if you fail and seems to enjoy if you do.
Probably one of the best professors at Auburn. Yes, the tests are extremely difficult, probably the most difficult tests I have ever had were in this class, however, you are in college, and tests should be challenging, I found him to be extremely helpful with answering questions about material. Go by his office and ask him questions, he loves that.
Dr. Agne is one of the hardest professors i have ever had, but it is college and things should be challenging. In order to do well you must study WEEKS in advance and you will get a C. He is very nice, and you shouldn't let others scare you, his class is not impossible but very very hard. just study A LOT and you will do well.
The Worst Teacher Here! I studied my ass off every test and thought everything made sense and then the test would be impossible! If you can don't take him! If you're not his favorite you are screwed..and he'll make sure of that. He actually LIKES his students to fail!
Dr. Agne is a great teacher. However, the material was extremely difficult for me to comprehend. It is all communication theory. If you are not used to hearing talk about theory, then it takes some getting used to. DO NOT PROCRASTINATE!!! Read everything he tell you and attend class everyday. He will randomly take up homework and gives quizzes.
Studied hard. Went to class everyday. Got a C and was happy for that C.
Dr. Agne is tough. This class is by no means an easy class, but if you study hard, take good notes, go to class every day, and keep up with the reading, you should pass. His tests are hard. He like all/none of the above questions which can be tricky. He doesn't scale but he does sometimes throw questions out if he think they were poorly worded.
Love this guy.. He's so hard. But you cannot help but love him!
Hated this class. Tests were ridiculously hard. Read your book EVERY NIGHT, study EVERY NIGHT and you MIGHT pass. Avoid if possible.
awful, awful, awful teacher. not only is the class hard but he doesn't make it any better. he could careless when the class average on a test is a 50. went to his office to talk to him about my grade and all he told me was "atleast i'm passing". he's no help at all and tries to make the class impossible. AVOID HIM!!
Extremely difficult material. Don't wait until the last minute to study. Go to class. READ the chapters, it helps a lot. Make sure to do ALL Discussion questions, it helps you out in the end!!
Agne is always available to talk to, and is a very interesting guy. This is college, and you can't breeze through without some hard classes. Study in groups, talk about everything out loud, and if you feel you could teach the material, you are ready for the test. Don't be scared, it is possible to get an A if you try really hard!!
I loved Dr. Agne..Go to class, read the chapters and do the discussion questions they help at the end. DO NOT wait until the last minute to study, and dont just memorize, really understand the material. Be prepared for A LOT of work. Try to get to know him and think like he thinks..the test aren't that bad but you HAVE to prepare.
He comes off very intimidating. He tells you what he expects of you on the first day. Do not have your cell phone on in that class. Do the discussion questions and study every night over the new material. A difficult class, but very interesting.
Agne is hard but not because the tests are made hard. He makes you think through the answers. Do all of the work, go over your notes every day, and read the book. When taking his tests reread everything. One word can change your answer. He doesn't make his tests tricky though. No electronics in his class. He is in his office for questions.
A very, very difficult class. Impossible to make an A. Be prepared to study, study, study just to pass. Interesting teacher but tests are very hard.LOTS of theories to memorize AND then you have to be able to apply them. Lots of "all of the above" and "none of the above" answers. He's the only one who teaches this course so just get ready to study!
Dr. Agne is a great professor! Class wasn't the easiest but I learned a lot. I made a B and really enjoyed the class.
Either you love him or hate him. Personally I think he's one of the best in the comm department. Very funny, makes class interesting, and probably the weirdest professor you'll ever encounter. But man was that class hard! You must go to class and you must read the chapters. Most of the theories are extremely interesting at least. Hes an A+ teacher.
Nice guy and pretty funny- BUT his tests are ridiculous. I dont think you could ever study enough for them. For those of us who do not do well on multiple choice, the class is lethal.
The worst. His tests are so hard and I read the book so many times just to try and comprehend what I had taken notes on. His class is a must for COMM majors and he makes you work for it. Go to class and sit in the front!! It's a looooong semester....
When a prof fails 50% of the class, including the same people multiple times, he is NOT a good teacher. The higher ups are well aware of the problem but do nothing. If its not too late, change majors to avoid him. Or drop out all together. Its a ridiculous situation and shame on Auburn for allowing it to continue.
Dr. Agne will challenge you but he is a brilliant.
The class is not that hard... He explains the material so well and is willing to write really long emails explaining it if you don't have time to go to his office. There is A TON of material, but it's not hard. Read the book, go to class, do the discussion questions, you'll be fine
Probably my favorite COMM teacher. He is also the hardest teacher. But just put on your big boy pants and learn to take an actually challenging class for once. ALWAYS read the book before class. Talk to him in office hours as much as you can. He is a really cool guy, get to know him. Don't just memorize lists but understand concepts.
Dr. Agne is one of y favorite professors. He is easy to pay attention to and makes an effort to know everyone in his class. Even the big ones. His class is challenging, but he equips you to do well. At the beginning of thee semester he tells you how to study and pass, so just listen to him. I ended up with an A. It's hard, but fun and doable
Awesome teacher, especially if you get to know him better. His lectures are long but engaging. Tests and infamously difficult, some of the hardest out there. I don't study for any classes but I am forced to study here. Required for COMM majors but I would probably recommend taking it in the summer so the class is smaller.
Very smart but AWFUL teacher. Thrives on students failing &unwilling to help. Lectures are long& unorganized- 75% him rambling ab personal stories, NOT teaching. Reading textbook is essential since he doesn't teach. Take notes when possible in class. 2 hard tests+final. It's a theories class so it either clicks or it doesn't.
Dr. Agne is a WONDERFUL professor! Yes, this is a challenging class, but you walk away feeling like you learned SO much. I truly enjoyed this class and that is mostly because of Dr. Agne. He does a great job teaching the information in an interesting way. The tests are tough, but just pay attention in class, take really good notes, and study hard!
Dr. Agne does not respect his students. He is disorganized and never remembers what he's talking about, yet expects you to know what he is going to say. He can be very funny and interesting, but that does not help you learn the material in the way that he wants you to know it. Terrible class, which is a shame, the subject should be interesting.
If I could give some advice about Agne's class: 1)Pay attention and participate. If you engage in the course you'll do better than if you just sit there and try and figure it out on your own. 2)GO TO HIS OFFICE HOURS! He is more than willing to give detailed feedback & explain where you went wrong. If you put forth effort he will too. Great Guy!
All the rumors about this class and him are true. Attendance is not required but you're dumb if you miss because he randomly collects 6 assignments and gives 3 pop quizzes for a total of 75 pts. He is funny be he is a maniac. He is all over the board. Tests were hard for sure. Studied over 14 hours and got a 62, but he did help in office hours.
Dr. Agne is a really good professor. I learn well in his class. It is a very difficult class, and many students struggle to do very well. You've got to be willing to work for the grade you want. He does well at his job. He keeps his lectures interesting and entertaining.
Terrible teacher. Class is difficult whether you study for weeks or don't.
Worst teacher ever. The funny thing is it's not his teaching, it's him. I have seen him make several people cry because of how much of a bully he is. The class is hard, but if you do your part and take notes in the book and don't skip class then its do-able. But other than that rudest man I have ever met. Really curious why Auburn hasn't fired him
This class is hard because it actually makes you think. Memorizing terms won't work, you have to know and understand the material the way he teaches it. Yes, he is quirky, but the only time he seems "mean" is when he enforces the no cell phone policy like all teachers should. Be a respectful student, put your phone away, read, think and you'll pass
Dr. Agne's class was very interesting relating the material. His quirkiness provided a sense of humor too which made class somewhat enjoyable. However, the course work is a lot and his tests are difficult to say the least. Find a group of people to talk out the material when studying. That helps most.
4800 is significantly easier than 3500 with Agne. There is a lot more discussion and he really appreciates when students participate. He used a new textbook this semester and hated it, but he will probably change it after this semester. He cares about his students and tries to make the material as understandable as possible.
It is true that this class is difficult, but not because of Dr. Agne. The material can be confusing because it is abstract and requires students to think. He provides examples that makes the material a lot easier to understand. If you do not like theoretical concepts, the class will be extremely difficult, but you will learn SO much. So worth it
Only reason I passed this class was because he messed up on a test and ended up giving everyone a 100. If I had not gotten that grade, I would be taking it this fall for a second time. Test are hard and there's a discussion paper, typed and printed, every class day. He likes to be the smartest guy in the room, so don't ask dumb questions. GOOD LUCK
One of the more entertaining and brilliant professors at Auburn. Will give you tones of feedback and help if you go visit him in his office hours. However, if you do not study or skip class you won't pass. But if you are concerned about having to go to class then you shouldn't be in college.
Dr. Agne is a great professor and has been teaching this class for a very long time so he knows what he is talking about. He is very quirky and goofy but still a good professor. The class itself is kind of hard, but you just have to study in advance and read the textbook.
PR MAJORS - DO NOT TAKE! There are other classes that will be less brutal to your GPA and fulfill the same requirements. His teaching is so disorganized that he thinks he taught an entire chapter in one class, but he really just rambled about one point. The textbook, too, is poorly written and riddled with formatting/grammar errors.
Dr. Agne is one of those professors that if you do not think exactly like him then you're wrong. He is the hardest grader I have ever experienced and is so critical of your work that it is pretty much just rude and mean comments. He is not encouraging or that helpful honestly. 10/10 DO NOT recommend.
Do NOT take this professor. He made me feel stupid for not understanding things and I had to explain to him that this is my first time learning any of this info and then he was a little more lenient. He makes things way harder than they should be. He is also very wishy washy and changes his opinions all the time so you never know what he expects.
Dr. Agne is a nice guy, but he is very proud of his own abilities and makes sure everyone knows he is the smartest in the room. Dr. Agne grades tough, and grades assignments to where an 8.5/10 is the best grade you can make. Definitely makes the material harder than it should be. Avoid at all costs if you are a Comm minor. There are easier classes.
Agne for this class will say that attendance isn't mandatory and then insult you when you dont show up. He will grade on his own preferences for writing, and not on the actual understanding you have for the content. One word he doesn't like in a sentence will completely ruin your grade. 3 weekly assignments. An 8-10 page paper. 21 essay ? final
Dr. Agne is very engaging during class but will make you feel small. He is one of the toughest graders I've had at Auburn, with a high of 7/10 on assignments for everyone. The tests are also pretty hard. I am working too hard in this class for a communication minor. Attendance is not mandatory but takes it to see if you are there or not.
Don't take this class - he grades assignments VERY particularly and based on how'd he write it. His rubrics are vague but then he counts off so much. That being said, he does provide lots of feedback, but it's nothing that's easy to fix. He also doesn't allow technology at all in the classroom and all notes have to be handwritten.
The lectures themselves were enjoyable and he's a fun time. But I've never had a more tough professor when it comes to grading assignments. If it's not exactly what he would say, it's probably not worth full credit in his eyes. I eventually accepted my fate and expected disappointment after every assignment. I suggest going to office hours some.
Dr. Agne is very knowledgeable in the topic, but doesn't necessarily know how to teach it well. He would also provide rubrics for every assignment, but they were often vague and he graded based on his perspective and not what was actually correct. I never once got an A on an assignment.
Dr. Agne is a good guy, but I will never take him again. He's an extremely tough grader and it's hard to figure out what he wants from you honestly. If you don't use the exact words he would use, it's probably wrong. He is super funny, willing to help, and I didn't mind his lectures, but HARD. Great guy to grab coffee with. Not so great professor.
It is hard to figure out his grading and what he's looking for. Take extensive notes during lectures and use them to study for exams. Make sure you read the rubric for the application assignments or you will get a bad grade. This class was definitely hard to follow, especially if you're not a COMM major.
the worst prof i have ever had, and i had to take 2 of his classes. It was so sad when i couldn't find another course to take for the second time. Incredibly boring, odd and pretty rude at times
The school needs to rethink this higher. I do no know how he is allowed to teach. He did not know how to spell "advising". He thought there was a Z in it. I have never had a tougher grader either. He rips apart your papers and grades your opinions. The absolute worst professor I have ever had. He's not even kind. He's just plain rude.
I do not look both ways crossing the street when I walk to his class hoping I will get hit and be able to miss it. This guy is one of the rudest professors I have ever had. He prides himself on the fact that he does not give A's. He has told our class that he grades based on his mood and will rip apart opinion-based papers.
the worst
I personally am doing very well in the class, but he is so rude and disrespectful that I am losing my love of learning and writing. He belittles every student so much and says "shush" when someone tries to voice their opinion. He is at the end of his career or should be, no teacher should drain joy like he does. Too old, too grumpy, too cynical.
This shell of a "man" is the literal bane of my existence. If you've ever wanted to hate your life, sign up for this class. He has the biggest superiority complex I've ever encountered out of any teacher in my whole academic career. His voice alone will make you stick a number two pencil so far into your ears that you turn into Steven Hawking.
I genuinely think this man enjoys causing stress, pain, and frustration. So unhelpful. Should not be allowed to step foot in an educational institution.
Dr. Agne is probably the worst professor I've had at Auburn. He is, by far, the most difficult grader I've ever encountered. He is rude to his students and has a superiority complex. If this class wasn't required for me to graduate I would've dropped asap. Told me I shouldn't celebrate my graduation. Good luck soldiers.
He is the worst professor I have had in my time at Auburn. He provides vague rubrics so that he may grade as he wishes. If you do not type exactly what he would then you are wrong and will definitely not get a good grade. As a 4.0 student he has turned my hair grey with his subjective grading and blunt demeanor.
This professor is tough but engaging. Lectures are worth attending, but be prepared to work hard. Unstuckstudy helped me prep for tests and stay organized.
Do not take him. It is impossible to 100% on his assignments because he is so nit picky with his grading.
Why do I hear boss music?
Do not take him if you can. He doesn't use the rubrics he makes. No one in class has gotten above a 75 on his application assignments. You can do everything perfectly and still do poorly. DO NOT TAKE HIS CLASS!
Absolutely DO NOT take him. Rudest professor and toughest grader I have ever encountered. Miserable class to sit through and what felt like thousands of tough assignments to complete only to barely get a C.
Dr. Agne is a tough grader, and his grading rubric is very vague, so you are not sure what he is looking for. Attendance is mandatory, and no electronics are allowed in class.
I thought he was just kind of a quirky guy, but his attempts at humor quickly turned into arrogance and disrespect towards his students. I was lucky enough that I seemed to be on his good side, but he would target specific students for no reason. His grading is difficult and vague, and we couldn't use semicolons or use the word constantly. do not!!
to start his rubric for assignments is extremely vague yet he grades super heavy. he seems like a funny old guy but he actually is super rude and obnoxious to students in class. he's very arrogant when it comes to questions in class. if you have the option to take a different COMM course then please do so because he isn't worth the time and effort.
The worst professor I've ever had. I tried hard to like him but he made it very difficult. Hours spent on application assignments just to get 7/10 every time, you can follow the rubric as much as possible, it won't matter.
He is just not a good teacher at all. He tries to come off as a funny old dude, but would act like you are awful for every little thing you do and tries to make the class much harder than it needs to be
I tried so hard to like this guy. I actually thought he was pretty funny and engaging in class. I mean he's a quirky old man so I thought his antics were kind of fun. But man is he a tough grader and half the class is spent on stuff that just doesn't matter on the tests. Wouldn't take it again.
Dr. Agne cares about the material he is teaching and you can tell he enjoys it. I definitely learned a lot from his classes, but he is a harsh grader and won't explain the grades he gives out, and we are usually wrong lol. So you do learn things in this class and it can be enjoyable but buckle your seatbelt and prepare to lock in fr:))
Just show up to class and take good notes. He does grade somewhat harshly and have vague rubrics, but he is more than happy to clarify in his readily available office hours. I had issues but solved all of them by just talking to the guy for 15 minutes one day after class.
Dr. Agne is a tough grader and often lacks when providing feedback on assignments, but he is an excellent professor. If you show up to class(mandatory) and pay attention, the course is easy to understand and keep up with. Many students rate him poorly because they don't like his policies, but he is an excellent professor. Approachable, funny, kind.
